1101  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If bitcoin was accepted everywhere would you use it? on: June 30, 2015, 01:56:54 PM
there is a hard core of church of HODL...and BTC has become my precious to them....they probably will never be able to bring themselves to ever sell a BTC for anything....which are essentially lost coins.

The Psych to HODL no matter what has this carry on effect inmho
1102  Economy / Speculation / Re: 100 bitcoins. Will I be a millionaire by 2020? on: June 30, 2015, 01:53:24 PM
I don't think people apprehend the amount of money sloshing around

frankly 1M does not buy so much anymore....barely a house in a decent capital city.

To me this say btc can go way higher than 10K each.

100K ~ 1M looks about right.
1103  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will greece/europe pull a rabbit out of the hat? on: June 30, 2015, 01:43:27 PM
I expect greek to be bailed out at last minuet as Fiat can just be printed....but after about another 3 times then no, something will give.

After that, Spain and Italy.

Peoples cash is not available to them from the bank. Now. This is a message most people understand. That is the real impact here.
1104  Economy / Economics / Re: Grexit on: June 30, 2015, 10:40:48 AM
yeah but the "brexit" will be because the pound >>>EU.

I am so glad the UK never entered with the EU best decision ever. Hopefully the UK/England will leave the EU. The UK can do much much better alone.
1105  Economy / Economics / Re: Grexit on: June 30, 2015, 03:18:07 AM
I think the moves of Greek PM are smart

[1] Delegated decision by referendum which says to EU negotiators....you cannot go against democracy

[2] By doing [1] He exculpates himself from blame

[3] He is threatening to Sue the the EU/EU Bank itself, which could really string things out. It may be unlawful eg you can't seek to destroy part of your EU union. At any rate this could keep the life line open for ages if the injunction works. It will also allow an out for the negotiators.

[4] What  I don't get is why doesn't Greece just print a whole load of euros and give them out. Print them Identical to all other Euro's. That would fix it by spread.

FUD FUD FUD

satoshi was happy with what 33mb blocks? and that was at the start?

It isn't even about that.  It's about Gavin Andresen's other possible ulterior motives behind Gavincoin.

please explain
1107  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Matonis: If Bitcoin XT Succeeds You Can Kiss 21 Million Cap Goodbye on: June 28, 2015, 02:05:48 AM
even if right you would just see LTC or something else take over, and not make the same mistake.
1108  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Matonis: If Bitcoin XT Succeeds You Can Kiss 21 Million Cap Goodbye on: June 28, 2015, 02:03:49 AM
People would just switch back to core.  This is a non issue.

Jon explains in the video that he believes user consensus will eventually support a 21 million cap change. He uses various welfare programs as examples.

Not that won't work as you will just fork to  new coin while everyone else runs the 21 M version.

Welfare programs are not comparable because you don't have a choice to opt out fiat money supply/fractional reserve banking/be the bank....until now.

Bitcoin enable the elision of sovereignty to the individual, empowered by choice force for the first time in history.

This not something any rational actor gives up.

Non rational actors exist but they die out pretty fast or are marginalized.

It's inevitable somethings going to give somewhere.

eventually though there won't.

1117  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NXT, the ultimate SCAM, will it die because of 100% pre-mine given to 50 people? on: June 23, 2015, 11:40:26 AM
i think NXT has gone on too long and has to may features devs etc to be called a scam.

It genesis was interesting.

I tried what looked like a very early version of nxt before nxt existed.

Some guy said something like

I think I can do a pos/java/html front end....and posted it here....

I had a play with it and it looked like release 0.00 of NXT

This person then disappeared and NXT followed a few months after.

the posts are here somewhere....
1118  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: FUD::Bitcoin Executive Says 21 Million Cap Increase Inevitable::FUD on: June 23, 2015, 10:44:53 AM
It would be similar to a stock split. Twice as many coins are available and each coin gets halved in price. It's not an awful idea if the growth of the currency was stagnated due to the price per coin. The difference is that bitcoin is nearly infinitely fractional..to what 8 decimal places, right? Down to the satoshi?

I don't think it would ever by needed (but those could be considered "famous last words").

no it wouldn't work like that as the coins would not be awarded to u but miners.

pushing the decimal point back would be more like a stock split
1119  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: June 23, 2015, 05:22:35 AM
I was just wondering, what has Vitalik Buterin actually programed an taken to market fruition to date or lead a team to do the same.

I understand he has made the Bitcoin Mag, but what else?

I kinda found this info hard to track down.

I am sort of wondering if he has a RDF like Steve Jobs. Not saying this is bad or great things can't be achieved.

1120  Economy / Economics / Re: Euro's not fungible on: June 23, 2015, 04:52:31 AM
I don't think so as long as the issuing power of Euro is controlled by the ECB. So all of the banks in European are treating the same status for different Euro. So is the merchants! What is your intention of creating panic here?

They print a Y infront of the serial number of Greek Euros and X-in front of the serial number for german Euro's.

This is by design of the central bank.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/personalfinance/11691232/I-am-going-on-holiday-to-Greece-should-I-avoid-Greek-euros.html

I am not 'creating panic' just stating it as it is, and making a personal comment after that.
It is a free forum. You can talk anything in your mind as long as it is not spamming and insulting others. Probably you can create a poll to see how many of users here agree with you, or just your personal idea?

Given that's they way they print it and its confirmed as a mechanism to remove legitimacy....its not a vote or personal idea in relation that it's not fungible, the personal view was as too the removal of any money I had from there which is a personal view.
