11001  Other / Off-topic / Re: Misconceptions about sympathy and empathy on: August 13, 2014, 04:45:07 PM
I find this article very interesting.
What is the difference between empathy and sympathy?
Both empathy and sympathy are feelings concerning other people. Sympathy is literally 'feeling with' - compassion for or commiseration with another person. Empathy, by contrast, is literally 'feeling into' - the ability to project one's personality into another person and more fully understand that person. Sympathy derives from Latin and Greek words meaning 'having a fellow feeling'. The term empathy originated in psychology (translation of a German term, c. 1903) and has now come to mean the ability to imagine or project oneself into another person's position and experience all the sensations involved in that position. You feel empathy when you've "been there", and sympathy when you haven't. Examples: We felt sympathy for the team members who tried hard but were not appreciated. / We felt empathy for children with asthma because their parents won't remove pets from the household.

Dam Real Madrid won last night I was hopping to see them loose but they have great team after all. Still little more time to start champion league and then comes the real matches.

Real Madrid is very strong this year, many good new players came.
Real, Barcelona, Athletic, great matches ahead of us Smiley

Athletic? Did you mean Atletico? I don't see Athletic winning anything this season. They are very good team but not title winning material...

Yes, Atlético Madrid of course, you are right, my typo Smiley
11004  Other / Off-topic / Re: What do you think about Real Madrid on: August 13, 2014, 04:08:51 PM
Real Madrid is great club, with a very long tradition and history, one of the most popular sport club in the world.
I think they will have ''big fight'' with Barcelona this year and have 50/50 chances to win the Champions league.

This is another one, very good example, from the same site:
#35 Natural Selection
The concept of “Natural Selection”, sometimes used synonymous with “Survival of the Fittest”, is often touted as the magic process that when added to mutation will result in advancing steps of higher and higher species and the success of evolution.[1] But I encourage you to read up on what Natural Selection is all about and see that it will NOT lead to evolution. Check out the examples that are given, and see for yourself what a fanciful argument this is for evolution of molecules to man. Actually you can't even start with molecules because Natural Selection ONLY works on a species once it can reproduce.

What they actually mean by "natural selection" is what we believers in God totally accept and we call it adaption to the environment. It’s a wonderful God-given quality in Nature that creatures have that allows them to better survive. But it is never a process that will give you a new species.

Full story you can read here: http://101proofsforgod.blogspot.com/2013/05/35-natural-selection.html

It's great to use Bitcoin in this way, help people in need.
In this way, we can help homeless people and show the world the power of Bitcoin.
11008  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Republicans Vs Democrats: Who is more likely to embrace bitcoin more? on: August 13, 2014, 02:34:07 PM
Both, Republicans and Democrats represent USA and their politic and economic, monetary system including US dollar.
So, officially, I really doubt that they can easily accept bitcoin.

101 Proofs For God

A growing list of common sense Proofs for God.

Proof for God, #65 Mitochondrial Eve and Y-Chromosome Adam

Genetic scientists seem to be in general agreement that we are all descendants of one woman and one man. This research was fairly recent, starting about 1978. They, of course, do not believe in the creation story of Adam and Eve in the Bible, but their conclusions are getting closer and closer.

In case you have not heard about this, it makes very interesting reading. But I think it raises a number of profound challenges to the Theory of Evolution.

The scientists base the above conclusions on the known facts of human reproduction, specifically on properties of the sperm and egg. .....

11010  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What businesses does Bitcoin need? on: August 13, 2014, 02:05:41 PM
I think that it will be great if some ''big'' global companies as Google, Microsoft and others accept bitcoin first.
This will help Bitcoin become mainstream and after that many small merchants will follow and accept bitoin to Smiley
11011  Other / Off-topic / Re: Does God judge the nations? on: August 13, 2014, 01:11:54 PM
If one goes by the Bible, in many passages it is clear that God can do no moral evil.  So, when it comes to something we do not like, one either rejects the message of the Bible, or accepts it.  But to say the Bible is true, and thus God a murderer (as suggested by one in this thread) is foolish.  That is just abstaining from logic, and ignoreing context.

I agree with you.
God gave freedom and free choice to the people.
So, they are free to do whatever they want.
If people follow God's directions and ask for His help, He will support.
So, Bible is the true but people are killing other people, not God.
In fact, 10 great commandments are basic moral rules for over 3 or 4 thousands years, much before modern human lows.
11012  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 'Become Muslims by noon today... or we kill all of you' on: August 13, 2014, 12:58:21 PM
You have forgotten chinese people.

The Chinese civilian deaths during the WW2 were caused by ethnic cleansing attempted by the imperial Japanese army. The German Nazi troops were not involved in these atrocities.

They also had their own civil was before and after WW II.
This war ended in 1949 when communist won.
11013  Economy / Economics / Re: Can bitcoin survive without the Internet? on: August 13, 2014, 12:47:45 PM
If Internet has shut down, the whole world will affect not only bitcoin. So I think living without the Internet nowadays is impossible to happened.

Yes, it's possible if some authority decide to shut down Internet but hope this will never happen.
11014  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why don't people under ISIS rule buy bitcoin? on: August 13, 2014, 12:36:09 PM
Because they have bigger problems. I know most people are poor and can't connect to internet. Even some people know about Bitcoin, they don't have any money to buy and hold it. Not everybody live like USA citizens. I think you don't know anything about living in Middle East.

Yes, this is true.
people who had to flee from the ISIS terror have no time to think about bitcoin, nor have the ability and resources to buy Bitcoin.
They are fighting for their life.
11015  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is your Bitcoin wish? on: August 12, 2014, 03:03:40 PM

11016  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why uk got so many good players yet cannot even reach finals in WC on: August 12, 2014, 02:59:11 PM
It's true that England have good players but in their clubs they usually don't play main role.
For good result you need not only good players but also good team.
This is not easy to achieve.

Do you think the gov't should "protect us" from Ebola, and what should they do?
Should people infected be banned from entering your country?
[/quote]

If not government who else can protect us Smiley
They should increase security on border, specially airports and try to find medicine for this.
People infected deserve any possible medical help, like American doctor recently, but everything must be dome in safe way.
11018  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have my mother almost convinced. on: August 12, 2014, 02:47:33 PM
You did really great job, because, from my experience, it's very hard old people convince that bitcoin is the ''real thing''
but, as match teacher, I guess she had a very good foundation to understand Bitcoin concept.
11019  Other / Off-topic / Re: General Football Discussion on: August 12, 2014, 12:54:08 PM
hey people is it tomorrow or this Saturday Europe super cup?

hope real will lose if its tomorrow

Yes, tomorrow.
I also hope that Sevila can beat Real but chances for this are not high.

I don't think are good enough in all honesty even if real had a real bad day I still think they have enough class to win.

I am sure Real will win. Sevilla doesn't have a chance. Their captain and main playmaker Rakitic left club and I am not sure if they have recovered from it.

Real have really good chances to win, probably 90 % but not forget, this is their first official game in this season, many new players and in 1 game everything is possible.
Sevilla is not strong as Real but also they are not weak team, they didn't win Europe cup by luck.
I expect very good game Smiley
11020  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Beware of Bitcoin, US consumer agency warns on: August 12, 2014, 12:47:07 PM
Barry Silbert, founder of online asset-selling marketplace SecondMarket, said he was happy to see the warnings, but he noted that some other currencies have similar risks.

“I think it is fair to say that a number of the risks highlighted could also be applied to cash,” he said by email. “Investing in bitcoin is indeed risky, but using it is no more risky than using physical U.S. dollars.”

I agree with this statement.
Not just using physical U.S. dollars, also using credit cards for online shopping is risky.
Internet banking as well.
In fact, whatever we do in life is risky, but everybody should decide for themselves if they feel comfortable to do something or not Smiley
