11021  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Germany’s Biggest Bitcoin Marketplace to Integrate Ethereum Trading on: October 02, 2017, 11:48:24 AM
More good news on top of all the incoming bad news. Interesting that they've decided to come up with Ethereum trading in the midst of the ongoing fork. I guess there's still a lot of people who believe in Vitalik and co. I'm still going to wait it out though, I suspect some short-term volatility around the fork this month should present a good buying opportunity - perfect to kick start some serious ETH trading just before Bitcoin's own fork later in November.

Maybe European exchanges will mark up the market share to 10% by end of 2017?
11022  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to start an successful ico on: October 02, 2017, 10:24:59 AM
This is a great list, OP, let me say that first to get it out of the way. However, the unfortunate reality of ICO ecosystem is now that the fundamentals of investment do not matter as much as the great thrust of marketing!

A project can have all the great technical aspects you describe: solid team, thoughtful and insightful plan and objectives, detailed whitepaper with strong technical background. But they will be considered failures if the ICO does not raise targeted intended, or have a token that has a great price after ICO.

Still, the so called successes of ICOs lie in their marketing.
11023  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: [Airdrop] ❂❂❂ Licensium ❂❂❂ Airdrop 1.000.000 LCX - Your thoughts? on: October 02, 2017, 08:27:23 AM
Airdrop and bounty are the same. I think airdrop shouldn't say airdrop is the receiver should promote the coin, it is bounty not airdrop. Just give away with the wallet is airdrop.

Airdrops and bounties are not the same at all. Bounties are rewards (even by definition it is like this), usually given out in exchange for promotional services, or to compensate users for their times taken to promote and give exposure to their audience.

Airdrops are pure giveaways, no promotion required. Effort minimal (usually just provide wallet).

Airdrops are fair and free, and means the developers are more serious about adoption.
11024  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: BITTREX, the captcha is always wrong >:( >:( >:( on: October 01, 2017, 11:45:49 AM
Captcha problems are seldom because of the site hosting it, but usually the user's browser settings or even the captcha issuer itself. As some posters here suggest, when facing these problems (hey, it happens to all of us) just clear your cookies and cache and try again. If it still shows you the same problems, then you can almost be certain other users are facing it too. It's temporary, in my experience.
11025  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH target 1000$ in ending of this year on: October 01, 2017, 11:07:59 AM
So ETH finally reached $300 mark yet again, but compared to the previous marks from two and three months ago, it is still behind the gains that Bitcoin made. Seeing as this recent heights is yet again determined by Bitcoin's recovery, I really can't see a good immediate future for ETH price. And now it is only weeks or months away from this "ice age", I wonder if winter is coming for Ethereum. $400 I agree is the realistic hope, $1,000 is not just overly optimistic, it's unachieveable for 2017.
11026  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO VS IPO on: October 01, 2017, 09:09:16 AM
Main difference between ICO and IPO is for IPO, investor is entitled to a claim in the entities assets minus its liabilities (known as equity) and has a right to vote on matters relating to the company. For ICO you don't own a stock or security. There are no protections. A fancy website selling tokens is what you get.

Exactly. Just because ICOs dress up fancy, with financial estimations, market research and deep technical analysis, they would look amateurish next to the sort of marketing material that IPOs have. These are usually audited financial reports, verified assets, vetted people with vetted qualifications and experience. The marketing brochure is hundreds of pages long.

ICOs have no assurances and you own absolutely nothing except digital tokens that cost next to nothing to issue. Be warned.
11027  Economy / Gambling / Re: BITDICE - 🎲🎲🎲 ICO ANNOUNCE 15 AUG 2017! JOIN THE TRANSFORMATION! 🎰🎰🎰 on: September 30, 2017, 02:37:05 PM
That would be great for long-term holder, otherwise there will be a dump right after every payout.

A dump after every payout? That would be amazing. I can't wait if that is really happening. Knowing that the price will raise right before every payout, it would be a great way to make a large sum of money.

If the token loses only 10% of it's value, and recovers later, huge profits can be made by buying after the payout, and selling them just before every payout.

That would indeed be amazing, imagine getting dividends on your tokens, and then being able to use those dividends to buy up even more tokens right after that at cheap prices. I would even say this would potentially multiply your tokens (and therefore, dividends) after 4 quarters if it really dumped like that.

Let's assume 10% dividends, let's assume 20% price decrease at the dump. If I buy with all dividends, I increase holdings by 15% (reinvest). Keep doing that after 4 cycles and I have 75% more holdings. Bring the dump on!
11028  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Withdrawal USDT from Bitfinex.com issues! on: September 30, 2017, 01:29:04 PM
The very first thing to note is you have a response. Give it 48 business hours. If nothing happens, then you should just keep asking, on every possible channel. Support ticket, forums, social media. I know this is terrible way to do things, but unfortunately, from my experience and what I can tell, this is the only way that seems to get things done. A lot of people ignore it eventually and this is how exchanges get away with things.

Support hates it but if they don't want you to keep asking, they should give you an estimated timeframe.
11029  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Why are there no bounty signature campaigns for newbies? on: September 30, 2017, 12:11:15 PM
First off, there are sometimes campaigns for people as low-ranked as Jr. Members. But this is simply because of one thing: you can't wear any signature when you are a Newbie member.

The forum system just tries to do its best to weed out automated accounts, so Newbie accounts need to mature into Jr. Member before they are allowed to do more, and access better features.
11030  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: !!!Bitgrail is pure scam for Raiblock faucet!!! on: September 30, 2017, 11:46:25 AM
Lesson number one. Read all the fineprint whenever you join a site or service. Especially when dealing with deposits and withdrawals.

But here's a tip. If you really want to earn instantly from Raiblocks, and not worry about having to manage the wallet, sell your Mrai and all that hassle, then just signup on faucethub, and look for the highest paying faucets. No names necessary they are the top 2. They both ask you to solve captchas for raiblock, but reward instantly in satoshi. Yes, you possibly get about 20% less, but it's guaranteed satoshi.
11031  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: POSW is going to get pumped to $5+ by a whale group on: September 30, 2017, 09:12:49 AM
This is maybe the 10th or 20th post I've seen this year about a so-called POSW pump. Meanwhile, the value keeps sliding and sliding. Not that I'm complaining, since I never held much POSW. I guess I am still hurting a little from the delisting they did a few months back, I had to sell all or most of my coins there for almost nothing (on the posw exchange) and those values are even lower now. Basically, I am leaving it alone. Great idea, just terrible method of execution. And that funny ICO launch didn't help matters.
11032  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Link will be in top 5 cryptos at 2018 on: September 30, 2017, 08:02:23 AM
Gamechanger definition:  person or thing that dramatically changes the course, strategy, character.

So Link will be a gamechanger of what exactly, and how exactly? See the first thing they talk about and it's smart contracts with data,  banks payments and API. I don't really see this as a problem, if people needed the "smart contracts with data", then they work on it, that's how it's supposed to work.

LINK wants to change that game?
11033  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Japan starts registering exchanges on: September 29, 2017, 07:11:37 PM
I'm curious though, why didn't they name any of these exchanges? Or did I just miss reading them as I couldn't find the list. And wasn't there a LOT more exchanges that applied, according to the authorities themselves? What happened to the rest of them? What would be news also for us is what were the criteria and who were the ones that did not meet them.

I'm just curious to see how this regulation works out.
11034  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ardor: Lisk/Eth's biggest competition . 1billion potential cap(10x returns) on: September 29, 2017, 06:26:47 PM
i sell ARDR 3 day's ago, it was a bad decision.... lol

If you sold 3 days ago, you obviously haven't done your homework on Ardor. Spend just one day to read the many articles etc out there.

This is isn't a 3 or 6 month trade IMO. This could be the big fish that doesn't come all to that often. I think OP's price is very very conservative, but i think he already knows this. If this project manages a decent marketing campaign from the Ignis funding, watch out above. Personally, I plan to hold Ardor until Crypto bubbles past the $2trillion mark, which is probably 5+ years away. Set and forget people, set and forget!

Actually, the way things are going with crypto, the time of 3 and 6 month exploding alts are gone. Those that can still experience those kinds of growth are anyway in the hands of extremely insider knowledge holders. I actually feel OP's price is as optimistic as can be expected, without being over the top. Marketing is also extremely saturated now so yes, what happens after Ignis will determine a lot of things - but many months down the line.

Agree on estimation of years, and not for Ardor alone!
11035  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [OMG] Palm Beach Research Group believes OMG may rise to over $700 per coin! on: September 29, 2017, 10:41:43 AM
Not sure about this guy's credentials to be honest, lots of newbie accounts in this forum made a lot of right calls. It'd be nice to see also all the wrong calls that he made. It's so easy to come up and say things like that, and then use it as proof of your genius when really, everyone else is just as capable of being right AND wrong!

You have coins like Dash and ZCash already hitting past $300 and those have incredible people pushing it to grow. Let's see about OMG...
11036  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mining on Mobile Phone on: September 28, 2017, 12:19:41 PM
OK Electroneum is a different concept.

Before you even think about POW mining on your phone, bear in mind that even mining on your computer or laptop can be detrimental to their CPUs or GPUs... and we're talking about much faster machines here. Even if you used up 1 or 2 of your CPUs/GPUs on your computer to mine, the cost of electricity is too high and the risk of overheating and damaging your hardware too much.

Phones are even more prone as they have much weaker hardware. The only thing I would consider using a phone for mining is PoS coins. But even then, staking 10 wallets on your phone sounds like a power-draining exercise.
11037  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH - will it go lower on: September 28, 2017, 11:00:52 AM
since last saturday, eth price has advanced 14%, raising its market cap to $26.8 billion. eth is now trading at $283, placing it within striking distance of the $300 threshold.
It is just because bitcoins are increasing in price and we all know that it is the market trend of all altcoins including eth to follow the footsteps of the bitcoins. Eth is going to shoe some more increase in value by the end of this year because bitcoins are highly expected to touch 5k dollars by then. If you are holding eth, try not to give up on these coins.

That is the more logical explanation. If your alt is going up at a rate more or less equal to Bitcoin, like it currently is showing, then this isn't down to the alt's particular strength. ETH has always, other than its own spikes and dips, followed Bitcoin's trend, just like the majority of alts out there. You want to know if the alt is doing well? In this case, ETH? Then compare the past Bitcoin prices to its own markings.

The last time ETH was at $300 were at Aug 8 and June 28. On Aug 8, BTC was $3440. On June 28, BTC was $2540.

So you can see, at each time ETH reached $300, BTC was only growing stronger and stronger.
11038  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: SONM keep falling... on: September 28, 2017, 10:31:12 AM
It's still suffering from Post Mega ICO blues, as I call it. With all those hundreds of millions raised from the likes of Bancor, SONM and EOS, there is more pressure downwards on price rather than upwards. Every cent needed for a price increase needs huge volumes to move.

ICO investors, since the majority were looking for quick profits, are just now dropping off one by one. Months are too long for them to wait, so price is just letting down on increasing pressure.

(Hint: good time to buy yes?)
11039  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Novaexchange work for you trade? on: September 28, 2017, 07:52:14 AM
There's good and bad. I bought some of my very early altscoins from Novaexchange after hearing about them in this forum. They were what people would call shitty coins I guess. I sold all of them for either a small profit or break even after holding them for months. They have a lot of problems, but not unlike other exchanges who hold these rare alts.

For example, when a coin's dev suddenly disappears, and the network disappears or forks and is never fixed, then these coins get stuck. I don't really feel this is the exchange fault, as devs don't help them fix it.

Second, support is weak, but even the big exchanges have the same problem.
11040  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Fork on: September 28, 2017, 06:33:37 AM
The byzantium and zksnarks already tested in the tesnet and that was true the fork will come as soon as possible with that was different with the bitcoin fork that will always be generating the new fork token caused by the forked of the network.

The ETH fork is the one its lead developers are planning and yes, it looks like it will happen because Vitalin wants it. But it is not different from "bitcoin fork" because it will also have a "new" token, or rather the fork will be the one that everyone will know as ETH. There are also other forks being proposed, just like with bitcoin.

do you even know how many forks bitcoin already had and without any issues? always with 100% support of the network aka full consensus.
compared to that ETH is fully centralized because the just force you to fork and go to the new chain. like they did with the ETH/ETC fork where majority did not want the fork but the minority with the money wanted the fork and created the ETH fork.
now is the same story again, they are forcing you to go to the new fork because they have implemented a "bomb" that will kill the old chain even if you choose that.

Yes, correct, but there were issues with bitcoin forks also. Remember Bitcoin Cash? This one happened without full network support, therefore we have competing chains now. And yeah, ETH is different because the path from the DAO fork was chosen and that means now they place full faith in the centralized leadership of ETH.
