11041  Other / Politics & Society / A new Ebola outbreak hits the Democratic Republic of the Congo on: May 13, 2017, 12:59:35 AM
Since the end of April, a number of people in northern Democratic Republic of the Congo have become sick with an “undiagnosed illness,” and three people have died as a result. Yesterday, the country’s Ministry of Health told the World Health Organization that one of the deaths was caused by the Ebola virus.

https://www.theverge.com/2017/5/12/15632502/ebola-world-health-organization-democratic-republic-congo

This should be contained asap, otherwise it will cause a public health crisis again in DR of Congo that will take a lot of innocent lives.
11042  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Know a Whale? on: May 12, 2017, 02:42:03 PM
So almost all of us know this term "whale" and it is used a lot when it comes to crypto currencies and their value, and especially around pumps and dumps when the perception is that a value manipulation is going on. But behind the term, there are people like you and me right?
So do you happen to know a whale in person? Or Are you a One?

I'm not a whale and I don't know anyone. But I think whales love to work behind the scene. Those wealthy people who are out there investing in bitcoin wants to keep it low-key. There may be very well institutional investors, specially coming from USA, China, Canada and Japan. Whalers are real in the bitcoin ecosystem, But we may never know who are these large movers and shakers because they are out of sight and reach of a casual traders.

Exactly, no whales will come up and show his face on the market. I can only speculate that some hedge fund institutions is representing them so to cover their tracks. Could be because they want to avoid paying large taxes. They may even be engaging on buying of hundreds or thousands of bitcoin without going through the regulars channels such as exchangers. Or even if they are going to exchangers, there will be a special arrangement for them because of the huge amount of bitcoin being moved.

I will not also tell someone if I'm a whale, I will just keep quiet and away from the prying eyes of the general public. Grin

11043  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price overvalued? Price Today: $1,827 on: May 12, 2017, 01:37:03 PM
I couldn't imagine the price will touch at $1,800 plus I was wrong with my speculation past few days .. that the price can be stay at $1,700.
Do you think guys the price of bitcoin today is overvalued?
Or this is just because the price was rise because of the good news about legalized bitcoin in japan country?

Is it possible that whales are pumping the price right now to keep it high and they will sell at some point?

Whales will always be there to pump the price. But if you are saying that they are manipulating it and selling it at later time to profit is highly unlikely. Again this is not 2013, this is not a bubble. This are legit investors coming from Japan market. Trading volumes also indicate that Japan is leading the way. If whales want to sell, then they can do it with minimal impact to the price. Because we have a country now that is supporting the bitcoin ecosystem. And even if whale sells, new investor will be showing up because bitcoin price has been more stable and trusted. Australia, China, India, Switzerland are also showing good interest to legalized bitcoin as well. So no, manipulation of price of bitcoin now is very difficult specially for the whales.
11044  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you deal with loss? on: May 12, 2017, 01:02:57 PM
Depends on how large the loss is and why you had the loss. If you get stopped out of a position and take a loss is different than waking up in the morning and realizing you lost a huge % of your bank roll. Especially when you were so sure about the trade. The first type should be no big deal. The later can result in profuse vomiting. If you have not vomited because of a loss on a trade before you have not completed your education yet. That would be your diploma!

LOL. I didn't vomit on my first big lost waking up in the morning. I only got frustrated but I realized that the more I got frustrated, the more I loss my concentration in trading. That's why I try to stay cool most of the time, but simply taking a walk around the neighborhood and coming back with more vigor not to make the same mistakes again. I'm not a person that easily gave up, so any disappointed and frustration that comes along I will take it, but rest assured that I will try to avoid if it the circumstances presents itself again.
11045  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The life of the President of the United States depends on simple mechanics. on: May 12, 2017, 12:21:54 PM
One of the aircraft is designed to fly the President of the United States Donald trump, was under the threat of explosion or fire in connection with the negligence that allowed technology in the service of the ship.
This writes CNN in its investigation. As noted, the threat of failure was detected in the oxygen supply system of one of two Boeing VC-25 used by Donald trump. "Air force one" was served at Boeing in San Antonio from April 1 to April 10, 2016.
Mechanics who conducted maintenance of aircraft systems, and used tools that did not pass the mandatory pre-treatment. This is despite the fact that any contamination in the oxygen supply system can lead to the threat of fire and explosion.
Expenses on liquidation of consequences of negligent work technicians made $ 4 million, they are reimbursed by the Boeing company.

Source?

In the first place, how can the US government hire company to maintain Air-Force 1, who sits the most powerful man in the world to a maintenance company that used sub standard or did not pass the mandatory treatment? In worst case scenario, will they going to blame the mechanic for killing the President of the United States? I think if this is true, then a thorough review of the safety and the copy that maintain Air-Force 1 should be done. And this is very serious because it involves a lot of lives who are flying with the President.
11046  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How can gambling help you with your life? on: May 12, 2017, 11:22:45 AM
Gambling never helped me in my life. It is like a liability that keep on sucking my fund whenever I play gambling games in a Casino.  That is the truth on financial side but it do help me to refresh.  After a tiresome weekdays of labor, gambling help me to unwind, remove the stress caused by my day job and enable me to meet other people and befriend with them (social life).

Do you have any outlet in life that won't require you to loss money? I think there are, spending a good amount of time with your family is a good stress reliever. You can have activity with them like playing boards games or you can go out with family specially Saturday or Sunday. That's how I unwind during weekends. Or we will go to my brother or sister and have a family bonding with my nephews and nieces and my kids cousin. You see, it doesn't have to be gambling as only way to unwind during weekends.
11047  Economy / Speculation / Re: What/who make the price of bitcoin on: May 12, 2017, 09:30:51 AM
The price of bitcoin is determined by supply and demand of the market. bitcoin is a decentralized currency so there is no central organization that determines its price.

I do agree. The price of Bitcoin adjust in terms of demand and supply so that means that the demand in Bitcoin is increasing because the price is rising and vice versa whil on the other hand the supply is limited unlike in centralized coins which you can release a particular amount so that the price would be stable as the demand increases likethe fiat system that we have.

There is no central group, but there is different groups and big whales that can inflict on demand and supply and with that they can't move the price in way they desire. Also we all noticed that bitcoin price at the moments can be very vulnerable on bad news, people in panic are doing crazy things. Bitcoin price mainly depends from us users, and who knows how to deal with community will know how to predict movement of the bitcoin.

I agree with the price is very vulnerable on bad news. But I think the general public is already matured enough not to panic if there is a price swing. You just have to remember that we have a country that backing up bitcoin now, unlike before. Japan is going crazy on bitcoin, ATH also is experienced in term of volume trading per 24 hours. Currently, the demand of bitcoin is very high but will limited supply only, the price is skyrocketing, Everyday, its like new investors or even casual traders want to get a hold of bitcoin for whatever purpose they may have. So its really hard to manipulate the price of bitcoin now, not like before that the Chinese market has a foothold of bitcoin ecosystem. Now, its different, Japan and other countries are really into bitcoin and what a piece of the pie.
11048  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-05-12]Russia’s Largest Online Retailer Will Accept Bitcoin Despite Central on: May 12, 2017, 08:17:21 AM
Just as excepted, Russia's U-turn regarding bitcoin/blockchain technology is no surprise. And now Ulmart can now implement bitcoin as mode of payment is good for their business as well as the whole bitcoin ecosystem. That article says that they are monitoring bitcoin since 2014 and has plans to implement it however, the Central Bank of Russia stop them. But now since they have the go signal, they can finally realized all their plans for bitcoin/blockchain. Even Russia can't stop this new revolution, that's why they have no choice but to go with the flow. It will truly amazing if Russia will regulate bitcoin in 2018.
11049  Economy / Speculation / Re: What price would you stop buying Bitcoin? on: May 12, 2017, 07:29:24 AM
I prefer earning bitcoin instead of buying. Through signature campaigns and through my website I am able to earn good. I only bought bitcoin twice when i first started with bitcoin. From then I prefer earning than buying.

Probably case to case basis. Like you mate, you prefer to earn bitcoin through signature campaign and you don't want buying it. But most of us here, aside from signature campaign earnings, want to buy and invest through it. For me the price of bitcoin is irrelevant, As long as you have the money to buy and saved it, then it will not be a problem. Of course the old statement, "buy low, sell high" still holds true. But if you are waiting for the price to go low, then you will not buy it because the trend now is going up. So if you are really interested on bitcoin as store of value or investment, you will buy it at any market price to hold for future profits.
11050  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Should Atheist, Muslims etc that doesn't believe in the Bible be beheaded? on: May 12, 2017, 06:35:25 AM
What kind of language is that, Finnish? Anyway, I'd ignore if I were you, but if I knew this guy IRL I'd be careful when turning my back at him, and I'd avoid falling asleep when he's around.

Google says it is Filipino.  No wonder. These guys nail themselves to the cross during Easter.

BTW, I did not know that phonetically Filipino is so similar to Spanish.

Historically, Philippines was under Spanish rule for more than 300 years. That's why you can still find similarities between Filipino and Spanish language. And there are parts of the Philippines where Spanish is still spoken, if I'm not mistaken.

We have to remember that Philippines is the pre dominantly a Catholic nation. There are a lot of Filipino who are still follow the "old tradition" that who ever didn't believe in Bible would go to hell if they die. And if you ever watch TV here, you will see a lot of shows talking about religion everyday. So that's how Filipinos, they are really deep with regards to religion. But for me, we should respect others believed and don't impost your own believed in them.
11051  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016/17 NBA Season on: May 11, 2017, 03:41:02 PM
Boston Celtics win game 5 with an impressive performance from the starters, I think this was a close game but after 2 consecutive loses they bounce back to beat the wizards routing them with 22 points. Thomas didn't score that much but he gets some reinforcement from his teammates when they needed the most, good game.
its better to see the team played together so defense will not look only for few key players but for the whole, both teams need to remember that the opponents waiting for them is the defending champion who's not willing to step down and will do everything to stay at the top. good luck to boston they need to show how they deserve being the number 1 in the east regular season.
They did it well tonight but there are still 1 game to go before they will face the cavaliers, I doubt if they have a chance with the cavaliers, their 3 point shooting can be defended and who can stop Lebron James in the paint if he will choose to drive most of the time.

What I notice in the this series is a high scoring games, that means they are not so focus with their defense unlike the warriors who can do both defense and offense very well.
At the rate things are going in this series, I think this is going to go all the way to Game 7. By that time, both teams would be too tired because this has been the furthest that they have reached in the playoffs. And the mighty Cavs have been resting and preparing for whoever they'll face in the Conference Finals. Can the same be said for the West as the Spurs' Kawhi Leonard is questionable to play in Game 6? That series might also extend all the way to Game 7 while the Warriors have had plenty of rest also.

I agree. The bos-was series may very well go to 7 games and by the time that they are done, the cavs would be waiting refreshed and ready. And considering the strength difference between Cleveland and these two teams, even if both came in fresh for the east finals, the cavs would be too much to handle. Guess it's safe to say that the east is already a done deal for LeBron and his squad.

It was a balanced attack from Boston Celtics lead by Avery Bradley. He was so quiet in game 3 and 4 then suddenly he exploded for 29 big points. So its either we gonna see Boston finished it in 6 and meet Cleveland Cavaliers, or there will be a game 7.  I hope there will be a game 7 because they are evenly matched so far. Although a game 7 will just stretch Cavaliers rest days. As the Cleveland Cavaliers sit waiting in the wings, neither team has proved consistent enough to threaten the defending NBA champions.
11052  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-05-11]Chinese Bitcoin Exchanges Might Resume Withdrawals Next Month After on: May 11, 2017, 02:39:10 PM
They will still have a positive impact on the bitcoin market that's for sure. Chinese has fell in love with bitcoins and they will continue to do once the withdrawals are allowed by PBoC. Indeed, Japan is now he leader in terms of volume trading, but if the Chinese comes back they will surely go back to trading bitcoin again and we will see the two countries getting at it as to who will be the no. 1. I think they have learned there lesson well and will not do any fraudulent activity that will merit another suspension from PBoC.  The article mentioned about PBoC not liking bitcoin, but they can't never stop this revolution. They can only put tighter regulations on it, but can't completely shut it down for the Chinese people who are into bitcoins.
11053  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Australia moving forward on: May 11, 2017, 02:08:08 PM
Yup. Australia making a move as well. If they are going to adopt it similar to Japan, this means that a new source of cashflow will be coming over to the bitcoin market pushing the price to a new level. 2017 is truly a amazing year for bitcoin. The only thing worth asking is, just much is the price at the end of the year? $3000-$5000? We are only waiting for Europe to join the party really, Asia is now leading the way together with US and Canada. Common EU where are you? You still believing that you can control everything? A lot of countries are now joining, don't be left out. Grin Good moved Ozzy's!!!
11054  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: For New Investors - The 3 Percent Bitcoin Rule on: May 11, 2017, 01:05:47 PM
You just make the new investor's experience more complicated with this rule. I think there's no universal rule that you can apply specially in the crypto trading because the market price changes really fast. Its the investor's responsibility to used his/her better judgement if they want to sell everything or leave like 10% of the total capital for re-investment. I personally don't follow any rule, as long as I know I'm getting ROI and huge profit from it, then I will sell regardless of any rule.
11055  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 214: Cormier vs Jones 2 Info and Prediction Thread on: May 11, 2017, 10:54:46 AM
If indeed if this fight is confirmed, then Cormier will be the favorite on this second fight between the two. I think if Jones chances will not be good because of his long layoffs. He should get at least get one fight before getting Cormier, to better prepare him. Also, the problem with Jones is more on mental so I don't know how will he cope up with the new version of Cormier. I think Cormier will still play the mind games here, because he knows Jones usually snaps with any antics he throw on Jones.
11056  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-05-11]Investor Predicts Bitcoin Price To Hit $4,000 In 14 Months on: May 11, 2017, 09:37:31 AM
As I have said before. all the so called experts prediction is now possible, $2000, $5000, or even $10000. The 2nd review on bitcoin ETF will have less impact as before and bitcoin price can simply overcome and recover from that. Professional traders, big investors, or even casual or newbie in crypto trading is already matured enough and will not easily dump their coins if they see that the price is failing. Bitcoin is more stable than before, because we have now a country, Japan, backing it up. So if you says that $4000 is possible to be hit in 14 month, then I will agree.
11057  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is bitcoin done? on: May 11, 2017, 06:18:44 AM
Long story short I invested far more of my small sum of savings into BTC than I should have. I bought half when it was around 800 and the other half at 1100 a few months back. With the disapproval we are tanking hard. I'm in this for the long hall but I'm questioning whether or not BTC will ever recover. Should I sell now at 1000? Is this the last time we'll see this price? Is BTC doomed as a currency?

What are you talking about?
Thr bitcoin price is OK.Your thread is totally irrelevant and meaningless.
You made some profit with your savings if you didn`t sell your btc.

Did you look at the date when the OP created this thread? Its post 1st ETF rejection. That's what his sentiment that time.

Moving forward to May, a lot has happened ever since, Japan has adopted bitcoin already and the request for the second review on the ETF application was granted by SEC. The price of bitcoin now is going strong, thanks to Japan for leading the way. I hope the OP didn't sell and hold on to his precious bitcoin because if he did, then he will have gain a lot of profit from by now. He say's he in for the long term, so I'm assuming he still has it.
11058  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If only.... on: May 11, 2017, 05:48:14 AM
It was good story dude. But I will advise you to move or look forward now and considered as a good learning experience. Some of us have lost more, buy we try to get up and look at the bright side. Its not too late to invest in bitcoin still, although the price is very high right now, I think buying it now and holding it for longer term will still return good dividends. The price of bitcoin is more stable than before, and if you haven't heard, Japan has already legalized bitcoin adding more trust in bitcoin technology. So if you still have some money that you can afford to lose, then you should invest it still in bitcoin.
11059  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Well Dammit, He Fired Comey on: May 11, 2017, 04:57:25 AM
I'm not an American, but by the way I followed the news and my personal opinion on why he was fired was:

1. Comey was too soft on Clinton - Comey is fired because of his handling of the email investigation on the Clinton. And he had exonerated Clinton from criminal wrongdoing.
2. Trump colluding with Russia to win the election- Comey even admitted in front of the Senate that the FBI was investigating Trump's campaign and his Russian connection.
3. Comey didn't support Trump's claim that Obama tapped his phone in Trump Tower.

So basically, he dig up his own hole leading to his firing and dismissal as FBI director.
11060  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-04-30]India’s Government May Be Preparing to Legalize and Regulate Bitcoin on: May 10, 2017, 06:02:05 PM
If India and China adapt bitcoin and if the government legalize bitcoin then the price would rally and the amount of investment coming into it will be really huge as India have more billionaire than the rest of the world and the population is really huge and they have close to two hundred million phone internet users which is really a prime place to legalize bitcoin.
I'm just surprised that other countries and their government are finding positive moments in the field of crypto currency for themselves and the state, why others have this problem.

But I doubt China will adopt bitcoin. PBOC has already put a tighter regulations on Chinese top exchanges because they suspect that something is fishy with their transaction volumes. But for India, its different. If they are open for bitcoin adoption in the future, then this will be another step for bitcoin to be fully mass adopted. I don't know what else the other country will think not to adopt bitcoin technology, if the most populous or second populous nation of earth embraces bitcoin.
