11081  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Somali minister shot dead near presidential palace on: May 08, 2017, 05:19:07 AM
I find it hard to believed that this is a accident. Abdullahi Sheikh Abbas, looks like he has a bright future in political in the war torn country Somalia. But was cut short by this apparent accident. They should have known that the car is carrying a cabinet member inside, because for sure there would be like identifying mark that this car belong to a cabinet member. I think investigation should be rolling and identify the motivation behind the shooting. And punish those who killed Abdullahi Sheikh Abbas. Its a sad story knowing that he came from a refugee camp and finished high there and pursue his love for his country by serving only to cut short by the shooting.
11082  Economy / Speculation / Re: The price of Bitcoin in 2020 on: May 08, 2017, 04:33:00 AM
Which scenario from the chart below is most likely to play out in the future? What do you think?
I will periodically update the chart to reflect the BTC price movements.

(somehow I cannot get the image to display in the topic itself, any tips?)

2020 a few months after halving a price of $5k to $10k may be possible. $5k maybe also a bit earlier. I see Bitcoin still as undervalued at the moment. And with SegWit hopfully getting activated somewhere next year at the latest, this just alone could result in a huge upwards push.
However it's still a long way to go. And 3 years in Bitcoin is definitely a time where a lot of stuff can happen.
In good and bad!
Cross fingers and hope for the best!

This is also my take here. Remember, the next halving of rewards for one block is scheduled in 2020. So it means that that bitcoin will be scarce as ever, and the demand by the general public will be high but since there is a halving their will be limited supply causing the price to new horizon. So I positive that the price could be somewhere around $5000 or more because of the above reasons. And as the network continues to grow and solidify, it becomes clear that even an event as jarring as halving can only reassert bitcoin’s continued existence.
11083  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC ETF SEC APPROVED on MAY 15th on: May 07, 2017, 06:44:30 PM
Bitcoin is getting reconsidered once again do you think its going to get approved or denied? Approval does it mean BTC rockets up ? Denial does it mean it takes a dump like in March? May 15th is the last day of approval.

i think if rejected, much people can dump bitcoin
the big bitcoin investor can playing price to buy bitcoin in low price with dump

We have not seen a huge dump during the first rejection of ETF, and a bitcoin price increased on the 2nd rejection of Bitcoin ETF.  I do not think that the upcoming decision after SEC review the Bitcoin ETF  have a major effect on bitcoin price if it gets rejected.  It may pump the price if the decision is reversed and accepted the Bitcoin ETF since it will bring in more fund to Bitcoin economy.

I think the first rejection of SEC coupled by the scaling issue, causing the big dump below $1000. But if ever the review will result in the same decision, there could be minor price decrease, but it would not like the dump on the first rejection. Bitcoin price is more stable than ever, and I don't think the rejection will cause it to drop below $1000. Investors or even casual traders are already matured  to think on just dumping bitcoin. Unlike before, we have already have a country backing up bitcoin, Japan leading the way in terms of trading volumes at 50% everyday.
11084  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Trading vs Gambling on: May 07, 2017, 06:08:26 PM
Both of them needs dependency on luck but trading needs also some capacity to understand what's going on and what'll happen.
Gambling is totally depends on luck, some people around me are very tricky so they can be benefited from gambling. Gambling is nothing but a trap.

Both of them depend on luck. But this is more applicable in gambling. And in gambling you can't mitigate risk, because the more you are addicted, you more chances of you loosing your money. As opposed to trading, you can lower your risk of losing your capital if you know what you are doing. So which is more beneficial? Trading. It is also crucial that you only use money that you can afford to lose. The potential for making money in crypto trading is as close to endless as any market around the globe. But you need to have the technical know how on means to maximize your capital and turn it into profit.
11085  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-05-07]Overseas Remittance is a $400 Billion Market, Can Bitcoin Dominate? on: May 07, 2017, 05:16:43 PM
Well I know there was one remittance center that has been operating since 2014. Its Bitspark. But I think it only services around Asia, If I'm not mistaken, they have recently open remittances to Africa particularly Nigeria. And as the article mentioned, its a booming business and Philippines as leading the bitcoin remittance.(I am Filipino btw) Grin. But I think Western Union or Paypal is still leading in terms of fiat remittance, but its dominance will be greatly challenge now by bitcoin. And Just this morning, my niece asking me about WU because he is expecting some money coming in and I said that I don't know that time WU opens and I gave her advised to used bitcoin instead. So I think WU lost another customer. here Smiley. Also I said she can used by bitcoin wallet in case she needed it for money transfer.
11086  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin surges above $1,500 - CNBC POST on: May 07, 2017, 04:31:16 PM
it is always good that media is covering bitcoin in a positive manner. and that always helps with adoption and getting more people in. but at the same time it is a little bit scary in my opinion because any new person that comes in would be investing after the rise. and they will surely see the price drop AKA correction side of it and at first it may scare some away.

We needed this kind of media attention to gather more individual getting into bitcoin ecosystem. So that mass adoption will be gain not only bitcoin but other crypto currency as well.

Regarding the current price, I stop looking at price because I know that it will continue to increase as the day passes by.  Grin. As I said better, I initially thought that this is a bubble waiting to burst. But as I have learned, it doesn't look it is because the price is only rising slowly as compared to 2013 that the price rose very fast and crash so hard that someone predicted that bitcoin is already dead. Japan adopting bitcoin really makes the difference now and imagine if other like India and Russia following in the footsteps.
11087  Economy / Economics / Re: Switzerland as a bitcoin haven on: May 07, 2017, 03:51:56 PM
Yeah Switzerland is alway well know for such things. When money comes or something precious comes Switzerland is always there and it has to be there.  Grin Bitcoin is being accepted everywhere and that too anonymously. Why Switzerland would ever stop there. They will acquire a big empire of bitcoin to attract more customers and people will reach out there for their money's safety as always they have done when it comes to money which comes in bonds.  Cheesy

Well, I have an idea which I want to share

After the US government forced the Swiss banks to reveal information about their clients and their money, it might in fact have been the Swiss gnomes themselves who had hammered Bitcoin specifically to get rid of Uncle Sam's supervision, surveillance and control. If I were them I would certainly feel hurt, upset and humiliated when they had been literally made to disclose this info, so it shouldn't come as surprise that they eagerly welcome Bitcoin (even if it were not them after all who created Bitcoin)

Well it could be.

Switzerland banks has been famous for its secrecy. Hence, a lot of rich people have a bank account somewhere in Switzerland. They don't disclosed any information of the account holders name except for extreme cases like illegal activities or terrorist links. With the best banking strategy and most stable economy in the past years, Switzerland has emerged as the best option for banking service. However, I'm not aware of Uncle's Sam meddling of Swiss banks policy of non-disclosure, however if this is the case then maybe what you said may be very well true.
11088  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Please recommend wallet on: May 07, 2017, 01:37:49 PM
Is there a wallet we can use to store Bitcoin and all other assets such as LTC, ETH, DASH, DCR?
I recommend coinbase it is safe to store your wallet and this wallet have ethereum wallet also but they dont have LTC, Dash or even DCR. I store my LTc and dash to the exchanges site like poloniex and bittrex . I dont know what is the name of wallet of that coin.  BUT I THINK THEY HAVE APP FOR THAT  YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THAT ON PLAYSTORE.

LOL. Do you know what a coinbase wallet is? Coinbase is exchange so they wont let you have the private keys, meaning you don't have control over your bitcoin. If they are hacked tomorrow, say bye-bye to your hard earn bitcoins.

As for me, exodus is the best option to the OP, it looks user friendly and customizable and can hold several different coins at the same time. I think the link has been provided below. You may want to look at it. Goodluck!!!
11089  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Does macron have bank accounts in the Cayman Islands? on: May 07, 2017, 12:44:39 PM
Does this news comes from the leaked document that was hacked from Macron's camp? If yes, then I highly doubt the truth about this Cayman's account. And this document was such an obvious fakes. And who are going to benefited with this such kind of lies? Obviously, Le Pen and his supporters.  It appears to me that she has been suckered into publicly telling lies about Macron. For me this is obviously fake, I will wait till WikiLeaks authenticate this documents, otherwise I'm still not into believing all of this.
11090  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-05-07] Bitcoin Fueling Ransomware Growth on: May 07, 2017, 12:02:49 PM
Its a good thing that government is voicing its concern, however, I believed that its the individual responsibility to protect us against this kind of attack. The Internet has been a huge gift for criminals not only for ransomware but also like Trojans, malware, hacking and all kinds o illegal activities to exploit someone. Bitcoin is just the latest because its anonymity and de-centralized designed which unfortunately boosting criminal activities underground. So we need to be careful and not just click anything we see only to avoid this kind of situation in the future which will result in the lost of our hard earned bitcoin.
11091  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-05-04]Bitcoin Price Has Set a New Record on: May 06, 2017, 04:34:58 PM
I think this is really inevitable. The prices of bitcoins are really soaring high now because of the demand for it. The demand of bitcoins can never be filled up by its supply since there is really no way we can create more outside mining. The outcome is always the same per block which means even if we scale mining to larger proportions then the rewards will still remain the same. So this new record is just going to be broken in the next price appreciation of bitcoins.

Simple law of supply and demand. The general public is now demanding more of bitcoin!! So it really fascinating to see people really getting at bitcoin nowadays. Bitcoin price soaring high all day everyday. Japan truly entering the scene change the landscape of the bitcoin price. They are now having 50% trading volumes, followed only by USA and Canada. And its not a bubble that we are seeing. I don't know if this trend is sustainable, but let's just say that we should enjoy the party, pump till you drop.
11092  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The campaign headquarters of E. Macron reported about the hacker attack on: May 06, 2017, 03:38:12 PM
I was quite surprise why hackers targeted Macron. Are they afraid that he will win this election? And the data leaked or hacked occurred when polls predicted Macron was on a comfortable victory over Le Pen. Do they think that the vote will swing to Le Pen favors in those data leaked will go public specially on the eve of election? France is the latest victim of this so called hacking. US intelligence agencies points to Russian President Vladimir Putin ordering the hacking of parties tied to Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton to influence the election on behalf of Republican Donald Trump. So maybe this is again at attempt to change the complexion of the election if France because this election is seen as the most important in France for decades, with two opposing views of Europe and the country's place in the world at stake.
11093  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why only now many countries recognize bitcoin as a virtual currency? on: May 06, 2017, 02:51:30 PM
I think it's what they called " FOMO" or fear of missing out. That's what japan felt when everbody else or large countries are already adapting this new kind of digital currencies. Japan is one of countries that has the most advanced technologies and it's really ironic if they're that last to adapt. Then the neighbor countries will comes after next.
This is not because of FOMO, just based on the necessity they have adopted after a long study about it. In my view Japan is the country which is gonna be followed by other countries, till date no other country has legalized it's usage as a currency to be used same as the national currency of the country.

Yeah. I think Japan has been into bitcoin for years and taking a look at how this technology could impact them financially(be positive or negative). I'm still trying to digest why they really adopt and embrace bitcoin all of a sudden. Maybe Japan has recognized Bitcoin’s has great potential. The Japanese Government ultimately ruled that it is not necessary to regulate sales, purchases, and/or exchanges of bitcoins so they just adopt it. We all hope that other follow suit because Japan has already set a precedence with the used of bitcoin.
11094  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Automated Trading with Bitcoin on: May 06, 2017, 02:06:32 PM
Automated bitcoin trading is just for newbies and to those lazy people who don't want to generate a lot of profit, yes a lot of profit from manual trading why? Because people like us or traders like us has a lot of potential to know the flaws of the market and how to deal with it unlike automated trading that is just for the current program, we are limitless in gaining new knowledge because if we do manual trading more often then it will lead us to become professional trader.

Yes. It is missing a essential part of human psychology, Intuition - or what we call the sixth sense. A large portion of crypto trading success is gut feeling, which something you need to develop as a trader. This is what separates a good trader from a professional trader. You need to feel how the market is going and react and pull the trigger because you have sense something that the calculations of a robot do not. Those who have this gut feel are not likely to want to use trading robots in the first place. They are highly skilled professional traders who can earn good money in the market.
11095  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-05-05] Facebook Millionaire & NBA Franchise Owner Believes in Bitcoin on: May 06, 2017, 01:36:23 PM
I was wondering why many millionaires and billionaires now are coming out and claiming they have big investments behind bitcoin and other crypto-currency? First they was  Mike Novogratz now Chamath Palihapitiya?  Are they hyping the already "hype" market? When the price of bitcoin was below $1000 you will not see anyone coming out telling I have millions in bitcoin as investment? I guess, those individual who has a lot of money is really intelligent when it comes to investment, and they saw the bitcoin is a safe haven for them to invest to for the longer term.
11096  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin can reach 3000 USD in a year ? on: May 06, 2017, 07:53:36 AM
$3000 is just not possible, the price will grow little by little so if the price grows about $20 each month, its still not going to be enough to reach that 3000. It will only be possible if ETF will be approved, they were saying its been reviewed again. Assuming it will be approved, all of us will celebrating.
I don’t agree, just fellow the prices are jumping and climbing the mountains now a days it approximately increases  ~$200 every week. If the prices kept increasing like this it will cross the $3000 very soon maybe before the end of 2nd quarter. This is encouraging for all the users.
yes in fact bitcoin has the ability to cross the 3000 USD level in few months, i am hopeful that bitcoin will continue its journey and its price will continue increasing its price because bitcoin has the potential  to increase its price more and more.

I beg to differ, I speculate that bitcoin can reach its maximum potential price of $2500 this year. But it can cross the $3000 barrier in the next year. As for me, there would be some dumping that will happen, and its unavoidable. So when its price goes down to around $1000 level, it will slowly rose again and will touch $2000-$2500 at the end of year. Its still a good thing though, at least investors or just casuals like us will have a chance to buy bitcoin at lower level then just save it at our wallet as store of value.
11097  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 213: Bisping vs GSP Info and Prediction Thread on: May 06, 2017, 07:21:46 AM
It was posted at mmanews.com that a Amanda Nunes versus Valentina Shevchenko fight for the women's bantamweight championship is planned. UFC 213 might be one of the best the UFC has given us for this year. It already has TJ Dillashaw versus Cody Garbradnt, Cowboy versus Robbie Lawler and of course the main event The Count versus GSP.

Looks like its a heavy stack up match. Adding Nunes vs Shevchenko. This will be a terrific fight. Nunes looking for her second successful defense of her championship after finishing Miesha Tate. On the other hand, Shevchenko with her dominant win over former champion Holly Holm and has win as well with Pena. I believed Amanda simply is bigger and more powerful than Val but Val has the speed. So its really hard to predict who will take this. But for all intent and purposes, I will go to Nunes to win this fight.
11098  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Any accounts of bitcoin in Japan? on: May 06, 2017, 06:22:40 AM
I talked to a friend living in Japan for several years now. She said that there are going crazy about bitcoin. A lot of stores started using bitcoin and owners are like in a friendly competition with each others in terms of gaining customers and of course bitcoin in their wallet. That's crazy. However, when I asked her if she is into bitcoin. she said she's into crypto but not bitcoin. I'm assuming she's into some shitcoin,  :)so I never asked although she said can she can convert it to bitcoin though  Grin. I asked her about the ATM, and she said that's she's getting an ATM card soon.
11099  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russia removes sanctions against Turkey, except the tomatoes and visas on: May 06, 2017, 05:53:38 AM
Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia cancels almost all economic sanctions imposed against Turkey. He said this after talks with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, reports BBC. According to Putin, "we can say that these restrictions are already removed" It seems that NATO is -1.

First we have to understand why Russia put economic sanctions on Turkey.  Turkish jets shot down a Russian bomber that Ankara said had crossed over from Syria, although Russia denied its plane had entered Turkish airspace. This is one of the major reason why Russia-Turkey relationship went sour for years. Although Erdogan has already apologized, but the damaged has been done already. The countries are on opposing sides in the Syrian conflict, with Ankara backing rebels fighting to topple Bashar al-Assad, while Moscow is one of his last remaining allies.

The only thing I can think of why Russia lifts the ban is the Bosphorus Bridge, this one-of-a-kind waterway separates two continents, Europe and Asia.
The safety of the Bosporus means the safety of Russia. The Bosporus is a vitally important energy corridor for Russia; it is a gateway enabling the distribution of Russian and Caspian oil to the world. So it make sense for Russia to cooperate again with Turkey because of this.
11100  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitspark Launches Remittances to Nigeria at 14.4% better rate w/Bitcoin on: May 05, 2017, 04:21:16 PM
We are delighted today to launch Remittances to Africa in our first foray into tackling the issues of sending money to the continent. Money transfers can be sent to any Nigeria's almost 20 banks in addition to mobile money services. In comparison to the competition, our rates are 14% better https://twitter.com/BitsparkBTC/status/860358430921510912 than the mid market FX which is what all the competition adhere to.

Check it out today at www.bitspark.io

First off, congratulations on opening a Remittance to Africa specially in Nigeria, as it is one of the largest remittances in all of Africa and offering 14% then this is a juicy offer that other couldn't refuse. Western Union used to be the no. 1 remittances being used by a lot of Nigeria's to send money through their families and I believe opening your own remittance to Nigeria will give them a good option and will not be trapped by the huge fees WU is adding. This is such a good initiative and I hope you all succeed. Good luck and Great Job!!!
