@ Quickseller would you escrow the account for me?

Also what is you % you are offering Yolo and for how long?
Sure I can escrow the account for you. Just send me a PM and I will write up an escrow agreement. My fee is .0075 BTC or 1%, whichever is greater and is payable in advance.
11122  Other / Meta / Re: BFL subpoena on: April 17, 2015, 02:22:35 PM
Kind of scary how they asked for all PM's mentioning BFL. I recall a while ago theymos discussed the idea of adding javascript PM encryption as a way to protect the forum from unreasonable searches and seizures. It isn't the best way to do it, as of course theymos could modify the javascript at anytime (he could even potentially be compelled to do so by law), but modifying the javascript is detectable, and messages that were sent and viewed with the unmodified javascript are still safe. It adds an extra layer of security, which should be sufficient for most PM's. It would also be very useful should BitcoinTalk's database ever get compromised... again. Anyone who has something really secret to tell should use something like PGP instead of this however.

I think we should consider adding this to the new forum software.

The other big problem with that is how to handle private keys. If the private key is generated from your password, for example, then forgetting your password would mean losing all of your PMs. Most people aren't prepared for this.
I don't see a reason why the forum would need to automatically decrypt your PM's for you. If you were to have everyone give a public key to the forum to have your PM's automatically encrypted to, then decrypting a PM would only be a matter of using your PGP client to decrypt the message manually for you which really would not take that much effort. This would let people determine how much security their PGP private keys have.

We're not talking about using PGP or any third party software at all. We're talking about doing this via javascript, so everything happens in the browser, and the user doesn't even need to know it's happening. PM's will function just like they do now except you'll need to enter a password to read your PM's, the password and plaintext PM's are never sent to the server and all encryption/decryption is done in-browser, similar to blockchain.info/wallet. This is SIGNIFICANTLY less safe than PGP, but it's probably sufficient to mitigate really invasive subpoena's etc.
Well to avoid the problem of people potentially forgetting their password to decrypt their PM's the forum could automatically encrypt PM's sent to someone using javascript, users would then store the private key locally, outside of their browser in order to decrypt the message. If PGP is used, and the user is using GPGTools as their PGP client, and their private key is stored locally, then decrypting it would be as arbitrary as highlighting text and making two clicks (and entering your passphrase).

In theory, the javascript could be modified so that whenever someone enters their password to decrypt a PM that the password is transmitted to either the forum or a third party attacker which would essentially allow them to decrypt any PM for that user.

Yes that's fine..
My btc address is: 1GfHCYBHMVeAJ18emrZUt9n5gGHKFXtfhw
Right after u send me the BTC, ill send u the password of the member account.

That is not how collateral works. In order for the lender to be protected, the collateral must be "in hand" prior to the borrower receiving the loan. It would also be best for any collateral to be held by a trusted third party when borrowing from this lender

11125  Other / Meta / Re: why people can't see my trust ? on: April 17, 2015, 01:47:37 PM
Hi,

i have been advised that my trust is 0 when from my account i have a different view.

It is due to the fact that you have received positive feedback from all those you have sent, but they are not in the default trust. Your trust list comprises of default trust and yourself, so their feedback to you show up as trusted.

If you remove your feedback to all those who have given you, you will see the same as the rest of us.
For clarification this is not true. The OP has/was using a custom trust list, the trust network of which included people who are not in the default trust network. You should not add anyone to your trust list just because you have given them positive trust for a trade, you should only add someone to your trust list if you both trust them enough to give accurate ratings and to only include people in their own trust list who give accurate ratings. The fact that you have given trust to someone in itself is not going to change the way that you view anyone's trust.

Thanks for the heads up guys but i still don't understand how can i get a green trust now....

You've to receive feedback from all those on DefaultTrust. You can see the list here.
For clarification also not true. Clicking on that link will only show you who is in your trust network based on your trust list and trust depth setting.
Quote
Then you will have to wait. If you receive only one feedback you will have to wait for 10 months. The waiting period decreases as you continue receiving more feedback.
Your trust score is partly based on how old your first positive trust received is. Your trust score only takes trust reports from people in your trust network into consideration. If you only receive one positive trust then it will take 10 months to get the one trust point required to get light green trust, if you receive two positive trust reports then it will take 5 months, if you get three then it will take 4 months (3.333 but I believe  the trust system only measures in whole months - I may be wrong on this), if you get 4 then 3 months (2.5), and so on. The trust system has an anti spam measure that makes it so only one positive trust per person per month is taken into consideration, so if you got three positive trust reports from one person in one month then only one would count

nibbknot is someone who at least claimed to be Bruno Kucinskas - I can't imagine that Bruno actually worked for BFL though lol.
11127  Other / Meta / Re: Locked threads... Are OP posts editable? on: April 17, 2015, 07:21:44 AM
If the thread is locked by a moderator then the OP cannot unlock the thread. If you locked the thread then you can unlock it as you wish.

I just tested with a thread that I had created and I can confirm that when I locked the thread that I cannot edit any of my posts, however I can delete a post of mine that is not the OP when locked.

-snip-
In theory you can automate the process so you could buy multiple accounts and have your bot do this automatically

But then there captchas, I don't know of any bots that can read captchas. (or never searched for any but I don't there are)
Sure there are. Plus there are services like amazon mTurk which will pay humans fractions of a penny to solve captchas for you

11130  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: [Cheap] HIgh Level DaDice Account for sale on: April 17, 2015, 06:50:22 AM
Im selling a DaDice account, level 40, BTC 0.0001 ono, faucet per every 5 minutes, Withdrawn over 0.02 BTC... price 0.1 BTC. Working on more accounts.

Escrow possible.

PM me for details

what is special benefit to buy that account for 0.1BTC it seems funny to buy dice account just for high faucet. with 0.1BTC mebers can make more rolling dice there.

Well mate, there is indeed a benefit. Wait until our stats page is up to see what magic some members make out of a high level faucet. Needless to say, we do not encourage members to trade dadice accounts Sad Keep them - enjoy them!
It would probably be a good idea to ban people who try to farm gambling accounts on your site because the value behind them is that they can milk you for a lot of faucet funds which hurts your profits.

I have seen stunna say that he bans people that farm and even trade primedice accounts so there is precedent for this.

If we know them we would ban them definitely. But there is no account called crazykiddo - so what can we do. Waste our time to go into discussion with the seller, buy it ourselves etc. Let the kids play Smiley So far abuse is manageable and we are working on technical solutions, rather than banning people. Taking faucet and tipping is not a problem here, since  the minimum tipping amount is relatively high, so they need to wager. Even on the highest level it is not possible to redeem the faucet and just tip them over to a bank account.
Well it should be somewhat obvious when someone is doing this because of consistent claiming for more hours per day then what logically makes sense, plus if one IP address (or IP range) has a large number of accounts that only claim faucet funds then it should be obvious they are just farming the accounts.

Even if they can't claim the faucet and tip to their bank, they can possibly place a single bet with the entire faucet amount and be able to tip the winning every so many faucet claims.
11131  Other / Meta / Re: BFL subpoena on: April 17, 2015, 06:48:59 AM
I would be interested to know how many BFL related posts were ever deleted. I am sure it is a lot if 3k+ users had their deleted posts released. I can only imagine the poor staff attorney who has to go through all the posts on the various threads, especially the ones with the ridiculous pictures (that I have read about), many of which I am sure are NSFW.

There were probably BFL threads in almost every section.

I would guess that this probably has something to do with why one of the BFL threads was recently apparently locked.
11132  Other / Meta / Re: A letter to the members of Bitcointalk forum... from a member... on: April 17, 2015, 06:39:07 AM
The monetization of the forum has destroyed the very essence of what discussion is about.
It is a free market. Plus the minimization of the forum is going to allow and encourage a lot of people to get involved in bitcoin that would not otherwise be involved in bitcoin. It will also provide a venue that new bitcoin related businesses can advertise and increase the size of their business.
Having moderators judge what is and isn't a "substantial post" is like the thought police.
I would disagree. At least in a way that you are implying what the moderators are doing. When someone says that someone is the "thought police" they are generally saying that people who disagree with a certain viewpoint will be punished.

The way the moderation of the forum could possibly be considered to be "thought police" is that people who say things without thinking are punished.

Banning members by judging their contribution to the subjects rather than removing members and posts from running ponzi scams and hyip is absurd.
I think it is absurd that anyone would expect their hands to be held to protect them from getting scammed. If you can see that something is a scam then you should not invest and warn others to not invest.

In most cases people are banned and posts are deleted when it is very clear their post has no value and are not contributing to the conversation.
There are many members here who have turned into professional re-writers.  Topics are filled with them.  Long post with nothing in it.  They post hundreds of spam posts each weekly.  All seem to say something but, if you look at them as a whole, it's the same song and dance over and over reworded to bypass your spam filter.
I find it ironic that you bring this up the line after you are criticizing the forum for judging people based on their contribution to a thread.

The above described kind of people do get banned.
Signatures aren't going anywhere but i ask you to pay attention and read.
Huh
CLICK THE "REPORT TO MODERATOR" button.  It only takes a second.
I hope you realize that the report to moderator button is for when a post/thread is either breaking the rules or is in the incorrect location. If someone is making a large number of shitposts then it would probably be better if you opened a thread here about them or sent a PM to a global mod or BadBear.
If you click it they will come!
Huh

nah the job ain't easy, I hope he is paid well because the lvl of toxic bullshit this forum forces you to read occasionally.

Over $1000 a week I think isn't it? (bit of a guess)
He does not make over $1,000 per week lol. He received 2.26BTC on April 3, however he usually receives less then 2 BTC per month, and the most he has ever received is 2.85 BTC for a month.

At current exchange rates that means he is making roughly $460 per month based on current exchange rates.
11134  Other / Meta / Re: Vod is trying to trash my sales on: April 17, 2015, 02:18:33 AM
Why did this get moved to meta? Seemed reasonably placed in scam accusations, in that it doesn't fit great in either.
it is regarding trust left by vod and vod is in the default trust network.

11136  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: [WTS] Full member account (2011) on: April 17, 2015, 01:46:25 AM
Signed message available (address posted here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=996318.0 )

Do you have any older address posted except that from stake btc address thread?

No, because I have bought it from the original owner outside of this forum and he has not never posted any his bitcoin address in this forum.
That thread is very new. I don't think receiving a signed message from an address posted in that thread would do very much to prove ownership.

How did you know the previous owner actually owned the account when you purchased it from him?
11137  Economy / Lending / Re: BTC LOAN NEEDED, 0.0066BTC on: April 16, 2015, 08:57:01 PM
Has it actually posted that address in the past? If you are getting the loan to your deposit address then you most likely will not be able to sign a message from that address.
11138  Economy / Lending / Re: BTC LOAN NEEDED, 0.0066BTC on: April 16, 2015, 08:43:38 PM
How much can you repay? Can you provide a signed message confirming ownership of the member account? I assume the member account has neutral trust, correct?
11139  Economy / Lending / Re: BTC LOAN NEEDED, 0.0066BTC on: April 16, 2015, 08:35:58 PM
Why did you create a brand new account to ask for a loan if you are putting a member account up for collateral?
11140  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: [Cheap] HIgh Level DaDice Account for sale on: April 16, 2015, 08:34:46 PM
I still cant get the reason for buying this account. So basically you get a dice account which just gives you higher faucet payouts for 0.1 btc? Is it even worth it? You coulf buy a Full member account here and get about 0.001 per post you make here.

I believe they allow for tipping so you could claim the faucet and then tip an alt account then claim the faucet again once the waiting time is up. In theory it is even possible to automate this process.
