1121  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin difficult to understand on: April 08, 2021, 10:15:29 PM
For those who have little knowledge about the workings of the internet or computers, then understanding bitcoin would seem as a Herculean task, but for the average joe that probably had a supercomputer in his pocket and a desktop on his room, bitcoin would be easy to understand. One doesn't need to know the inner workings behind it as it is something you can't expect to be basic. Just the regular and easy to catch info about bitcoin is more than enough to educate people about bitcoin.
1122  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin mining in Texas - new trend - will Tesla follow on: April 07, 2021, 10:19:26 PM
Texas companies should pioneer the use of green energy in mining bitcoins. Most of the bitcoins mined nowadays come from nonrenewable resources that further deteriorate the integrity of our environment. This act could spearhead the use of renewable sources in the future not only for mining bitcoin but for everything else that runs on electricity. Since the US holds a certain power over the planet, it's undoubtedly s move that coulf inspire other countries to join in.
1123  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Giving bitcoins as a gift? on: April 07, 2021, 10:16:19 PM
If you think giving the bitcoins to the girl is something that can immensely help her, then might as well go for it. You mentioned you have no hidden agenda anyway. In any case, just give her a good heads up ss to what bitcoin is so she knows what she's dealing with. You don't want your precious gift that literally costs a couple of hundred thousand dollars now just because she doesn't know a thing about bitcoin.
1124  Economy / Economics / Re: There must be more banks in the world than number of cryptocurrencies on: April 07, 2021, 10:13:18 PM
Quality over quantity. The existence of nunerous banks and financial institutions proved futile to the rate at which bitcoin and cryptocurrencies become more valuable. So it doesn't always guarantee that if we were to get more banks, circulation will commence thus saving the dollar. What needs to be done is to limit the printing, and commence circulation in other ways, that is the only thing that can save USD from utter destruction.
1125  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Don't you hate it when.... on: April 07, 2021, 10:09:40 PM
An early lead almost always guarantees victory for that team. At least that's what I have deduced after watching numerous games where points win the game like basketball, videogames as well. So I don't lift my hopes up when my favorite team is put to a very disadvantageous start. It has saved me from the annoyance of expecting for an awesome comeback which doesn't happen that much anyway.
1126  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You Think Bitcoin Save Your Economy on: April 06, 2021, 11:07:25 PM
I do not think bitcoin will be able to save the fiat economy. First and foremost because bitcoin is not connected to the fiat economy at all. It may have been a point of comparison but that's as far as connection goes between these two things. If it were to collapse, bitcoin will be the go to of the common people, and those who adopted it earlier will have a considerable headstart compared to those who FOMOed.
1127  Economy / Economics / Re: Why you can't be rich by owning crypto on: April 06, 2021, 11:01:59 PM
If there are people who fail to get rich after owning Bitcoin, means that the person does not have a large amount of Bitcoin or the person is
not holding Bitcoin for a long time. Because the key to the success of getting rich from Bitcoin is how long we are able to hold Bitcoin.
Therefore most of those who became rich because Bitcoin were early adopters, who bought Bitcoin when the price was cheap. So if we really
want to get rich from Bitcoin, the way is very easy we can start collecting Bitcoin from now in accordance with our financial capabilities and
do not sell it for the next 10 years. I am sure that we will get rich after 10 years, most people want to get rich from Bitcoin instantly and don't
want to go through a long process. So it is only natural that such people will fail to get rich, even though they own Bitcoin.
This is a nice argument, although of course if we are to follow the current price graph we have of bitcoin, we can expect virtually everyone's holdings to actually appreciate significantly. Also, inflation happens and had happened even before bitcoin was created? Who can say it is at fault for the current rate at which inflation is booming? That does not sound like a wise argument at all.
1128  Economy / Economics / Re: Archegos Capital Management - How to burn $20 billion overnight! on: April 06, 2021, 10:53:08 PM
Well it's quite good that the management decided not to dabble with cryptocurrencies, because if so we are generally fucked. Although we cannot deny that bitcoin has its ties with the outside market, even at times the Wall Street. So we may have dodged a bullet right now, but we can never tell what's in store for us in the future. The world of stocks and money is a very complex field with things that are more than what meets the eye. It is best if we could gain more info by researching so we can forever ensure the value of our assets. Be it crypto or stock/bonds.
1129  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Fate or lack of control - Gambling on: April 06, 2021, 10:47:07 PM
It is easy to write and comment on the topic but I would like to see you guys the moment your sweat is cold and you are about to do your next move before losing everything. In theory, everything should be under control right? But when you gamble you face reality, and that can hit you very bad.
That is why self-control is very essential in gambling, whatever the game is. If you don't know how to control yourself, you'll just lose all your winnings, maybe even lose all of your money. Regardless of how much you win or lose, if you have the ability to control yourself, you are automatically winning, because through that you will be able to recoup losses with decisive wins, and control losses as well.
1130  Economy / Economics / Re: bitcoin wasn’t created to make you rich. It was created to make you free on: April 05, 2021, 09:53:53 PM
Bitcoin is primarily intended for the purpose of creating a decentralized planet where territories and connection aren't a problem in terms of transactions. At least from my perspective, I do not know if Satoshi ever had in mind that his creation will grow this huge not only as an asset but as a store of value as well. Sure, the early adopters may think otherwise, but the fact that Satoshi hadn't placed any feature to support bitcoin's scalability is enough evidence for me to believe that he doesn't know his creation will be this valuable.
1131  Economy / Economics / Re: Filecoin Foundation Grants 50,000 FIL to the Internet Archive on: April 05, 2021, 09:48:48 PM
The Internet Archive has been a very reliable source of lost information for so long, and to see a foundation, and a decentralized one at that, realizing the immense efforts given in to keeping this site up, is quite heartwarming. I do not know how many individuals have tried donating to the Internet Archive, but if you have a couple of dollars on your card you could spare, donate to them, or if you don't want to, try donating to wikipedia as well. They badly need money to keep their sites alive, and honestly I can't see the internet without Wikipedia.
1132  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to get the best odds on sports betting on: April 05, 2021, 09:44:04 PM
What I do when sports betting is only bet when the team I did an extensive research on is playing. I know it's gonna cripple my chances of raking in more wins but at the very least, the games that I do bet on are almost always guaranteed a win, because I know the ins and outs of the team I am rooting on and who they are better or worse.
1133  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The fine line between market investment and sports gambling on: April 04, 2021, 11:42:28 PM
In the broad sense of the word, both are gambling. There's not much difference between the two. It's just that there are various interpretations of the word, various contexts on which gambling could be construed differently.

Gambling could refer to placing bets on a game of chance or on a sports team as much as it could refer to taking a risk making a bid order in a stock market or on a crypto exchange platform. However, most of the time gambling in the sense of the former is more on merely having fun and taking blind chances while the latter is oftentimes understood as a serious undertaking which involves a lot of informed analysis.

At the end of the day, I don't think one should be made illegal while the other legal. But both should be highly regulated.
Totally agree. For me, both are two sides of the same coin, offering both huge profits and considerable or even at times devastating losses as well. One requires great decision making and timing more than self-control and emotional thinking, while it's the other way around for the other. It's basically pick your poison when it comes to these two.
1134  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC was a lifetime chance and I don't think we will see a similar opportunity on: April 04, 2021, 11:37:57 PM
You're only late if you haven't invested yet. Yes the early buyers and adopters rake in millions by now, but what are the chances of a dirt cheap coin rising to one of the biggest assets in the market as of the moment? Really low right? So cut yourself some slack, buy more when you can and hold, then profit. A similar project could come around in the future, so as a wiser investor it's your duty to do your own research vigilantly and wisely to never miss out on something great yet again.
1135  Economy / Economics / Re: A Decentralized Roadmap To Compete With Elon Musk/Tesla: The Open Source Car on: April 04, 2021, 11:31:45 PM
decentralizing Tesla's development right at its infancy may look good on theory, but in reality I see it as something they are actively avoiding to ensure that their vehicles are top of the line, pristine, and bonafide. If the same treatment gas cars receive is given to electric cars, quality is something they can control anymore, since every shop can basically say they know how to fix your e-car until they mess it up. In the future, when electric vehicles become more mainstream, and more people got the hang out of fixing and operating these types of vehicles, this may be viable, but I don't see why they should rush it now.
1136  Other / Off-topic / Re: Formula E on: April 04, 2021, 11:25:31 PM
The sport has been going strong ever since its conception last 2011. Although the ongoing pandemic and health risks it has ensued significantly crippled the industry. I haven't really betted on Formula E games, and just generally watch them for the sport and fun, but I think I just might especially on the upcoming championships, perhaps just with a few of my friends, but if you could suggest a site that will be really helpful.

1138  Economy / Economics / Re: How the rich get richer and why it works on: April 03, 2021, 10:12:59 PM
Your first statement is right, but not quite precise. I think the best way to describe what the 1% of the society do is that they hoard their riches and diversify them, never liquidating everything in one go. This is why even in great collapses and declines in economy that this world has experienced over the past few centuries, there's still the few people that come at the top, and most of the time these declines ulonly further the divide between the poor and them, making them even more richer.
1139  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who where how much withdrew from no deposit on: April 03, 2021, 10:09:00 PM
No deposit required gambling firms are very hard tp come by nowadays since most of them no longer requires KYC, so the least they can do to guarantee you're not a bot trying to profiteer over their site is to ask the user a deposit before withdrawal. In the same situation, I haven't gotten by a crypto gambling site that doesn't require a deposit for withdrawal, all for the same reasons stated above most likely.
1140  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Was paper money rejected by religions as much as Bitcoin? on: April 02, 2021, 10:05:32 PM
I believe fiat currencies received the same hate as bitcoin did in the past, and what these people are saying is basically nonsense because the things they accuse bitcoin of inflicting to people are also applicable to fiat. If I were them, it would be better to support bitcoin instead across the countless signs of fiat's collapse, where bitcoin is the only viable solution to keep the society well-functioning in the future.
