121  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Pay off DEBT by do Gambling? think again before you loss more on: February 20, 2024, 11:32:25 AM
I have a hanging out friend who is having trouble paying his house installments, he wanted to borrow money from me but I didn't give it to him because I didn't have the amount he was borrowing at that time, I advised him to borrow from another friend but their answer was still the same, finally, he was a little desperate and with the little money he had he put the money into the online slot application, unfortunately, instead of succeeding in doubling his money, he lost all his money because he lost in the online slot application

The valuable message that can be taken from my friend above is never take risks to gamble to pay off your debts, the pressure is very big, the chance is very small that you can pay off your debts, often you end up losing even more and losing your money. look for loans, sell your valuables or look for part-time work to pay off your debts, is a good way rather than playing the small money you have in gambling

I think paying off debt through gambling is achievable if that individual is consistently receiving money, like a monthly salary or something like that, or any cash flow that he or she is consistently receiving. If he or she does have that, then the next step is to budget that money. For example, 5% of that money is for paying the debt, and the other 5% is for gambling. That 5%, he or she will try to gamble it and hopes to make it 3x more so it can be paid for the debt.

I think the problem with your friend is that he is not receiving consistent money to supply his daily needs and wants, and as a result, he cannot handle his debts because he is barely living, and that is the worst. In that situation, I think he needs to let go of gambling and try to find another source of income or side hustle. By working, he can pay off his debts without much risk because he is working and not gambling.
122  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Anyone +18 Play Gamble? on: February 20, 2024, 11:08:35 AM
It doesn't really matter if you are an experienced gambler or a newbie when you are already in the range of +18. +18 is already mature in some countries, so I think online casinos or betting sites know that if you are 18 and above, you can make your own decisions and you are a grown-up human. They have nothing to do with you, whether you lose a lot or not. As long as you comply with their terms and conditions, you are good.

But if you are a newbie, of legal age, and want to try gambling, You should not rush yourself into gambling; maybe use a little bit of money so you can get the feel of gambling, then try to communicate and be friends with other gamblers so you can learn what you should and should not do when gambling. Lastly, be responsible when gambling.
123  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think gambling every day is better? on: February 19, 2024, 08:09:27 AM

He said when you keep trying luck every day you stand the chance not to miss your luck of winning,

Well, your friend does have a point. You miss 100% on shots you don't take, so why not gamble and try every day? But the problem with this one is that, what if every time he or she gambles, he or she loses? Like, for example, he or she gambles for 5 straight days, and all of that is a loss? Isn't it heartbreaking for your friend? Does he or she still want to continue if it is always like that? That technique is good if he or she only gambles small amounts and it doesn't affect him or her financially. It is a different conversation if he or she bets a large amount and keeps on losing.

It really depends on the person's ways of gambling and how he or she manages his or her finances. If your friend earns a lot of money, then gambling every day is a good technique for him or her.
124  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: February 19, 2024, 07:39:35 AM

Allstar game is 1 word? LAME!
We have now reached a new low point in my opinion.
They don't even play D in the 4th quarter anymore.

Just watched 20min of "highlights" on youtube, but there weren't any. Well the 2 half court shots by Dame were nice, that's it.
At least Steph, Luke and the Joker were somewhat entertaining, especially with the Joker missing dunks and laughing with Luka.

But the rest, cherry picking dunks/layups and 3s 3s 3s. All they do is shooting 3s. So boring. You can tell that the audience was also kind of sleeping as some point.
Of course it' supposed to be entertaining with very low intensity but this level really is nothing worth watching anymore. In the past it was so much fun to watch this game but now the multi millionaire ballerinas just don't care about this even.  Cry

I agree; this all-star is kind of boring. I mean, some of the past few stars have been boring too, but this one is on another level. Everyone is spamming threes and does not play defense. Especially for the East, in the early part of the game, West was trying to play some D and run some plays, but East kept on shooting threes, and from that point on, West gave up, and it is now a battle of threes. It is like you are watching pick-up games, but the difference is that the NBA players are the ones who play. Some of the players don't even try, like Luka and Jokic. I don't know if they just want to risk getting injured or if they just don't want to play.

The NBA should make a move on how they can save this dying NBA All Star. They actually did a great job in 2019 and 2020, but after that, the trajectory of the NBA All Star is on a downward trend again.

I think the NBA should put money in the All-Star game, like they did in the In-Season Tournament. This might change the players mindset when playing the All-Star game.
125  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: February 18, 2024, 02:58:12 PM
With the NBA All-Stars coming within the next few hours, what is your bet?

Mine is WEST ALL-STARS -3

The West vs. East format in the All-Star game is back after several years of using the Team Captain format. West is the heavy favorite to win this game. West is loaded with talents, with LeBron leading the way, Luka and Shai at the backcourt, and Durant and Jokic as forward and center. Before doing the Team Captain format, West is dominating the All-Star with a record of 6-2 against the East since 2010 up to 2017. With that, I think the West All Stars can win this all the way.
126  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you gamble because you don't have sufficient money? on: February 18, 2024, 02:12:17 PM
It really depends on the person you are asking. Some see it as leisure or just entertainment; some see it as a new way of earning income; or some are just really addicted to it. One of my friends sees gambling as a side hustle; he is not that much of a gambler; he just bets a small amount of his money and or just bets sometimes when he needs money. Lucky for him, he is winning (sometimes, lol). But for me, it doesn't really matter if you are rich, poor, or middle class; if you want to gamble, then go; no one will judge you. If it makes you happy or gives you money, no problem. Everyone has the right to gamble. Just be a responsible gambler and do not ruin your life by getting addicted to it. It is much harder to recover all your losses if you let your emotions control you.
127  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who should quit, and why? on: February 17, 2024, 08:30:06 AM
Hey house someone need a few clips here, don't know if a post of this exact nature has been discussed though.

In a situation where the both spouse are gamblers. Husband gambles, wife gambles, how can both of them manage the situation in terms of finance and the family affairs especially when children are now involve so that the time both spends on gambling doesn't affect family moments and affairs in general.

Would it help if  one of the couple quit for the other and if that's the case who should quit for who.

That kind of setup is really hard because both of them are gamblers. What if both of them lost on the same day? Then the mood in the house will not be good, and it will be really hard for both of them to take care of or mend each other because both of them are down and sad. Also, they have children. I think at that point in life, you need to stop gambling already because you are raising a child. It would be okay if they didn't have kids, but they do. So I think at least one of them should stop gambling so they can minimize the risk that they have when gambling. But it would be better if both of them would stop; it will cause harm to the family if they continue gambling and continue to lose every time.

128  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: February 17, 2024, 08:08:37 AM
Since he didn't selected, Domantas Sabonis made crazy triple-double averages. He made 18 triple-doubles this season. It's really ridiculous that he wasn't selected. If he played for a Los Angeles team, he would have been selected. When you're in Sacramento, it's tough.

I hate this narrative that people always keep on saying. I mean, Domantas deserves to be an All-Star, but why is it always going to be against the Lakers? Why Anthony Davis? Anthony is having a great season; he deserves to be an All-Star too. He is taking care of himself and doesn't miss games that much compared to his past few seasons. Also, he is arguably the best player in the Lakers right now based on how he plays.

And looking at the standings, the "winning" Sacramento Kings are just one win away from the "losing" Lakers. Also, all-star reserves are voted for by the head coaches of the NBA teams and not fans, so if Domantas is playing for the Lakers or any Los Angeles team, I think it wouldn't matter because fans are not the ones who are voting for the reserves.

If we are going to compare Domantas to any of the All-Stars right now, I think it should be KAT. For me, Domantas should've replaced KAT. Towns is inconsistent most of the time, and I think he became an all-star because of his 62-point game against the Hornets and because they are number one in the West.
129  Other / Off-topic / Re: Having a regular/steady income is important as a gambler. on: February 16, 2024, 02:44:54 PM
Yes, you are right. To gamble, you need to have a steady income or a steady cash flow. But it does not mean that you earn money; you have the right to gamble. It still depends on how much money you make because you still have priorities that you need to settle, like house, electricity, internet, and water. Also, you need to budget your wants and the food too.

If you are earning a lot of money, then most likely you can gamble some of your money, but just be careful and set an amount that you are willing to lose when gambling, and also don't be greedy when gambling. You might use all your money when you let greed overtake you.

But if you are just earning enough to live, then maybe gambling is not for you, or maybe you need to find a side hustle that can support your gambling.
130  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: February 16, 2024, 01:42:22 PM
Wow, the Bucks.
The coaching change really did them dirty, well deserved.
Now they even lose against a Memphis team that "competes" with a 9 man (mostly bench players or even GLeague type players) rotation and has an injury list with 10 players, basically all their stars.

How can you even go from here if you are Milwaukee??
Can it actually happen and they fire Doc Rivers after just a few games? That would be hilarious!!

I don't think Bucks would fire Doc because of what is happening to them right now. I think Doc should take the blame alone; some of the players too should be responsible for what is happening. Dame has not been the same player he was last season; I don't know if it's the off-court issues that have been causing this performance of his or if he is struggling to run the offense of Doc Rivers's game plan. Or he just wanted to be traded to the Heat LOL  Grin Cheesy Also, Brook Lopez has been missing in action in the past few games. Giannis is carrying this team on his back.

Props to the Grizzlies, though; they are still winning despite having a few players playing for them. It has been several games that they are upsetting teams.
131  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: You can not win if you do not risk on: February 15, 2024, 04:35:50 PM
Gambling is already a risk because you do not know if there is a guaranteed win whenever you bet on something. So it is a risk; it just really depends on how much you are willing to gamble. If you are gambling with too much money, like, for example, 30% of your salary, then it is risky for you since you are betting that much money. If you are gambling with money that you are okay to lose, then it is fine.

But you are correct: sometimes you need to take a risk on gambling in order to have a lot of money; it is either high odds with a low bet or a high bet with low odds. Either way, if you are a risk-taker, then go for it; if not, then continue playing safe in gambling.

What can you say about the news that Golden State tried to trade for LeBron before the trade deadline? Also, it says that Draymond Green texted Rich Paul (LeBron's agent) if there is some way he can encourage or recruit Bron to go to GSW. This trade would pair LeBron and Steph Curry with the Warriors. If this happened, I don't really know if they would still be deadly as a duo. I know that both of them are still playing great this season. LeBron James is still averaging his usual numbers, and he is on the way to his 20th All-Star appearance. Same goes with Steph; he is still knocking down threes and carrying Golden State at his back. But if this happened way back in their prime years, this duo would be deadly. We all know LeBron loves having teammates that can knock down threes, and Steph is smooth playing with anybody; just look at KD when he was still in the Warriors; all of them are having their time on the court.

If that trade happens, the world will be in shock.

They probably offered something ridiculous for him just to give the Lakers a chance to dump salary and avoid LeBron causing an offseason media fest with his decision about free agency.

The 76ers also reached out to trade for Durant, Booker, or Beal. You can give them credit for trying, but none of those deals were ever going to happen.
These offers made the think that there must be crazy things going on behind close doors. These rumours are just the ones somehow got leaked. To me, Lebron in GSW seems impossible and would never fit for anyone, not for Lebron or Warriors. 76ers reaching out to Durant or Booker also seems crazy. How would that even work? I may be oldschool but I liked the days these kinds of stars were just franchise players. Teams with multiple superstars kinda killing it for me. It started with Lebron going to Miami actually. I hope these things woul never happen again.

I think lakers would not want that to happen since imagine how huge the market of Lebron and if they let this trade to happen then I guess there's a lot will be lose on their side. This discussion maybe didn't proceed since they cut this idea about possible landing of Lebron to GSW and this one just came out late since maybe some media just want to clickbait people to hype their article. I would say its impossible for Lebron to land in GSW knowing how big the asset would La ask in return and for sure they would ask lots of player which I think not really worth it especially Lebron is at the peak of his career and anytime he would provably announce his retirement.

I think LeBron is on a player option for next year, so teams could get him for nothing after this season. He’s also planning to play with Curry in the next Olympics… I never thought LeBron to Golden State was a possibility but after reading all the news today I think it could realistically happen. They’d just need to draft Bronny.

I think LeBron will still be committed to the Lakers. Even though these past few days he has been teasing the Lakers by posting that time emoji "⌛" and flirting with the Knicks by wearing Knicks colorway shoes and wearing and using a Knick towel in one of his interviews when they faced the New York Knicks at the Garden.

Also, there is news that the Lakers are trying to find a way to draft Bronny in this upcoming draft to see if this will make James happy. The Lakers still prioritize Lebron James' happiness; if I were the Lakers, I would do the same. It is once in a lifetime to have one of the best players in basketball play for your organization, so you will do everything to make him happy.

If the Lakers ever reach the Western Conference Finals again, or maybe the Finals and win the championship, there is a chance that James will still be a Laker next season.

Also, next off-season, the Lakers are eyeing these free agents to come and play with LeBron and AD. Those players are Donovan Mitchell, Dejounte Murray, Kyrie Irving, and even Trae Young. If the Lakers ever get one of these players, then most likely James will stay.

134  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do i handle my first gambling experience on: February 14, 2024, 05:17:39 PM
Well, nobody can really give you exact advice. Nobody can give the best advice on how you will react to your losses and winnings; you should know yourself. But if you are looking for advice on gambling itself, on what to do and what not to do, That kind of advice is what you really need. First, you should know what your limits are when gambling. For example, you should set a minimum amount of money that you are okay to lose so that if you lose, it is fine for you. Also, you should set a goal; don't be too greedy when gambling, either winning or losing. People tend to get greedy because they let their emotions overcome their minds.

If you are a beginner, then let yourself explore gambling. You will learn from your experience, and you will eventually get used to it. Also, remember that there's beginner's luck; you might win some when you start gambling.
135  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: February 13, 2024, 02:50:48 PM
A triple double with blocks hasn't been seen for quite a while I would say.

Well, Wemby accomplished that last night with 10 blocks versus the Raptors. They also blew out Toronto in dominating fashion.
It's funny, the Spurs are one of the worst teams but occasionally they win games by a huge margin, this time even on the road.

I think with this kind of performance, Wemby really wanted to cement the things that he can do on the floor. He really wants that Rookie of the Year award. With the first month of the NBA season, Chet is dominating the race; their stats are somehow similar, but Chet is just more efficient, and the OKC was winning, but after Chet got that rookie of the month award in December, it was a different story; Wemby is now dominating the rookies and led the rookies in total points, total rebounds, and total blocks this season. Also looking at Spurs last game against the OKC, Wemby is always looking for Chet; he wants that matchup badly. With this kind of performance by Wemby, I think the Chet for Rookie of the year campaign is now over.

But let's see, the season is young, and we're still in the first half of the season.
136  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do not gamble with Loan Money~otherwise you will be in danger like me on: February 13, 2024, 02:34:41 PM
That is tough, OP. I hope you can recover all the losses you have. It's like a double-edged sword was hit on you. Losing in gambling is already painful and heartbreaking; what more is losing the loan money you have? You should've invested it in something more low-risk, something that you can make the money grow, like businesses or any kind of investment. But it is already there, OP. I hope you stay strong in the months or years to come. I hope you can get out of that financial rabbit hole you have. Take a break and take a rest. I know you can do it.

Me too. Actually, I was kind of tempted to do that, but after thinking about it, I think it is better not to do it because it is too risky and I might get depressed if that happens.
137  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If I bet big I lose, but if I bet small I win on: February 12, 2024, 09:35:28 AM
I think you are just imagining things; we tend to hold onto something when things are not aligning with us. We tend to think of something that will comfort us. Just like what you've said, you lose when you stake a large amount of money, and you win when you stake a small amount of money. If it were the other way around, would you think the same? Would you think that all of the betting sites and casinos' systems are tracking all your bets? I think not. This is just a mere coincidence; if ever betting sites and casinos do know our bets and their patterns, then it is much harder to track because there are plenty of players in one casino alone.

I did also experience this, but for me, it is just myself. I just create things to mend myself from all the losses I have.

138  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: February 12, 2024, 08:55:10 AM
What can you say about the new additions to the Dallas Mavericks? With PJ Washington and Daniel Gafford, the Mavs get PJ from Charlotte in exchange for Grant Williams, Seth Curry, and a first-round pick. Daniel Gafford, on the other hand, came from Washington in exchange for Richauln Holmes and a first-round pick. Watching their game against the OKC last night, I think they are a great addition for the Mavs. They can be a lob threat every time Luka drives. Gafford, a high-flying big man, is a good pair with the Mavericks' first-round pick, Derek Lively III. Imagine them in the froncourt and Luka playing as the point. Lobs are everywhere if that happens.

PJ Washington, on the other hand, is a versatile forward who can stretch the floor and also slash through the rim. What's good about him is that he doesn't use the ball that much to score; he can score off the ball, and that's good because the Mavericks have a backcourt of Luka and Kyrie who are both ball dominant.

What is also good about this acquisition is that both Gafford and Washington are young; both of them are just 25 years old. They are not in their prime yet, which is good, but with proper training and workouts, I think they can be better in the future.

Overall, the Mavericks won that trade, as you can clearly see in their game against the OKC.
139  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who among you here is gambling at work? on: February 11, 2024, 03:40:56 PM
Gambling at work is tolerable if you are working at home. At least when you're working at home you can contain yourself when you lose, you can make  yourself at ease because you know that you are in your own safe space. But if it is in office, I think it is hard because your workmates can notice your change of mood, either you are sad or angry, and it much harder to contain yourself because you are in the office. And yes, it can affect your performance. Because of your bad mood, you tend to get lazy and much harder to work.

So for me, let's prioritize our work first because it is our source of income. Without work, you have no money, when you have no money, you can't gamble. Gambling is just there for side hustle and for fun. Do not let gambling ruin your work.
140  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: February 11, 2024, 03:09:16 PM
My today's parlay was a hit!

76ers MW
Hawks -3
Cavaliers -5
Warriors +3.5

The Philadelphia game was a little bit scary as the Wizards cut the lead in the fourth. I thought that they may eventually take the lead, knowing that they are wizards and sometimes they can win games. It is the same with the Hawks also; the Rockets cut the lead in the fourth; they cut the lead up to 8. But eventually Hawks prevail. On the other hand, the Cavaliers game is as easy as it gets. They beat the Raptors, 119-95. The Cavaliers are the hottest team right now, as they have a record of nine wins and one loss in their last 10 games. Also, they are in a nine-game winning streak as the second seed in the East. Everybody expects the Cavaliers to have a losing record when Garland and Mobley are injured. But Mitchell and the Cavs get it done.

And lastly, the game between the Warriors and the Suns was nerve-wracking. As they go back and forth, no team wants to give it up. Even though I do have a plus handicap, the Suns are still capable of making runs whenever they want. But the icing on the cake in that game was Curry's 3-pointer and also the game winner. I think he is really ready for that 3-point contest against Sabrina.
