To add to the ever continuing discussion, .... CSC is by no means a short term money maker, ... if you are only into trading and making a short term profit you are looking in the wrong place! Of course it would be nice if CSC picks up in value but if CSC stays arround $0.02 per coin for the next 2 months i am fine with that as well. We are creating a lot of new software and features here that allow this coin to move forward in the future and we are working in the background on a mindset change for an entire industry. I wonder why most people still do not grasp that concept .....

Will it succeed? I do not know, the future will tell. Nobody guarantees anything here, ... we just indicate the future potential value. What i do know is that the most stock exchanges made some 3-5% profit over the last year. If you invested some $1000 you would have made some $100 on that if you were lucky and had some dividends as well. If you now invest some $1000 into CSC it could well be that in 5 years you can celebrate your early retirement or you could have lost your investment, .... are you willing to take that change?

Ohh and on the Cryptsy problems, ... we already started saying early november that you should NOT LEAVE YOUR COINS ON CRYPTSY so if you did and you loose them i am very sorry for that but by no means a big surprise ....

Why would you not want to use an installer? I think 99% of the users prefer it as its the way they normally install software. Anyway, we could also just create a zip file that contains the extra Qt files and supply that as secondary install method, then you just unzip and run from the directory where you put it. A second codebase is not going to happen, at least i will not maintain that ...... for now the old wallet still works and i suspect that with the new additions i am currently developing it will all still be backwards compatible with the v1.3 wallet as well as we do not touch the blockchain itself, you will just be missing out on all the new v2.0 release features!

This happens on some old OS/computers and has to do with the OpenGL version. Try updating your graphics card drivers to the latest version.

First and most important i wish a very Happy New Year to all Casinocoin enthusiasts. I hope all of you and your loved ones have a great 2016! I am pretty sure casinocoin will contribute to that by being the rising star of the 2016 crypto world. I have had a very necessary time of for the past few weeks but things will pickup again from now.

Work is going steadily on the walletserver/mobile clients. Let me explain a bit what i am doing, ... i am extending the current C++ casinocoin core sourcecode to make it possible to use the current blockchain code and be able to plugin to that any wallet file that is needed. I want to have the user to decide if they want to leave the wallet file on the server, the client, or both. That way we move the blockchain away from the actual wallet and a user can potentially use the same wallet on a desktop client, browser or mobile client. To make this work i have to ensure that the wallet code is capable of high load with a high concurrent wallet count and stays threadsave and stable. The communication with the clients will be through message queues (RabbitMQ) and all security and rest services will be build on the WSO2 stack. Using the message queues will also help masquerade the actual walletserver location from the clients. Clients will include user accounts, OAuth and 2FA, probably with an added extra personal security token on top of that. As you can see, a lot of work and i am still targeting Q1 but this is by no means a hard deadline ....

Currently i am the only developer for Casinocoin, ... mabe Felix will help out a bit more on some features for the wallet but still it would be nice if there was some more help from the community on the development side of things, ... my workqueue is kind of big at the moment. If anybody has C++/Qt or mobile development experience with Ionic/Cordova/AngularJS and is willing to spent some time on development please contact me.

A complete sync should take hours but not days ... Are you using wallet version 2.0.1? And how many connections do you have? What is the blocksize on the infopage and is it stuck or increasing?

More and more mining, i also see a lot of long lost users at megamineros pool reclaming coins i had already put in cold storage. This coin is now in geo stationairy orbit, ready to go to the moon and then straight to mars and the outer solar system

I think you are not understanding entirely what GC is saying, ... he is setting up a business/service getting casinos to use casinocoin as an affiliate program where he puts 1 CSC = 1USD. Casinos buy prypto cards from GC with predefined values, they hand them out to potential players, players deposit at the casinos, they play, cashout, win, loose, etc. If he states that he has now sufficient coins to support his business model he only states that he thinks he needs at least 5 mln usd in affialiate money to support his startup. If csc gets more widely adopted by casinos automatically more prypto cards will be requested and GC will need more CSC to fulfill those orders so thats when he will go ahead and get more coins. Other ventures are free to do the same, .. as GC states there is plenty coin left for others. If CSC gets harder to get the price will rise when demand stays solid. As soon as CSC passes 1 USD GC can open up to a public exchange as that will be the moment where CSC will surpass his guaranteed 1 CSC = 1USD value.

Man you guys are getting very nervous these days, ... if cryptsy ends it will NOT be the end of CSC, just make sure you do not leave your coins there! We did not just invest like 150 hours of development work in a new wallet and api services if we did not trust in its future potential. Calm down, take a deep breath and move on. You can now also trade at AlcurEX and AlterDice. We will NOT let this coin die off, if necessary GoldSeal and i will even startup our own dedicated CSC exchange but for now we think that is something to be done by the community or others that see a business opportunity and not by us.   

O and by the way, the coinsupply indicated at http://csc.blockexp.info/ is incorrect. The correct value is shown in the new wallet and is currently at about 34.934.435, that value is calculated on real subsidy values.

Last but not least, @SEABOND, nice first post on the CSC forum, crawl back into your hole in the ground where you apparently have been for the last few months, come back after winter sleep and be amazed at spring time ....

It has to do with inputs and outputs. What is the TxID? You had received once upon a time in the past 62.1275 coins to addresss A. You sent 1 CSC to address B. The wallet has to do something with the rest of the 62.1275 input which is 61.1275 so it creates a new address C and sends it there .... thats how the blockchain works!

People, .. please move your coins away from Cryptsy if you still have coins there. Use AlcurEX or Alterdice as good alternatives. There are more and more red flags appearing around Cryptsy and i honestly feel that they can not keep it up and running much longer like this. Their business is decreasing so they will get to the point where it is no longer sustainable. Having now some alternatives i would no longer risk my assets on Cryptsy. This is my personal opinion and no more or less than that, ... do with it as you like 

Seems the R410 server, assuming its a Dell, has a Matrox G200 graphics onboard. You could try and search for an updated driver that might support higher OpenGL versions. If not i think you are out of luck for the new wallet version. You still can use the old 1.3 version by the way as we did not make any changes to the blockchain.

Ok seems we found the problem. Older machines or OS could cause the issue. We now use Qt Quick for all those nice GUI features but that causes the wallet to only work properly on OpenGL versions of 2.0 and above. See if you can upgrade your graphics driver as that solved the issue for others. The only time i saw that same issue with missing graphics was before we started building it statically. However it seems that older windows version are missing some libraries that newer windows versions have installed standard. My problem is that i can not reproduce it currently and a debug Qt version of the wallet that would output some more info is arround 200 Mb big. One other issue i saw on some machines had to do with openssl. Could you try and install openssl libraries from: https://slproweb.com/download/Win32OpenSSL-1_0_2e.exe and retry?

Actually the casinocoind.exe is the windows daemon, not the Qt wallet, that has become an installer as the use of Qt Quick no longer allows us to distribute a standalone executable without some qt libraries and files, ... linux binaries will follow this week, then hopefully the osx wallets soon after that.

It seems my macbook is too old to do the static compile for Qt5. I need to setup an OSX vm or find myself a new .macbook, you'll need to have some more patience for the mac wallet or you can send me a Macbook Pro and i will compile the wallet asap for you 

I just uploaded the windows daemon casinocoind.exe to github as well.
- create a data directory, ... eg: c:\csc-datadir
- create a casinocoin.conf in the datadir with content
server=1
rpcuser=casinocoinrpc
rpcpassword=[random password]
- start the daemon from the command line with: casinocoind.exe -daemon -datadir=c:\temp\csc-test-datadir

The daemon should start and save all block and wallet data in the c:\csc-datadir
if you want to access the daemon use the command from a new command shell: casinocoind.exe -datadir=c:\temp\csc-test-datadir [command]
for example: casinocoind.exe -datadir=c:\temp\csc-test-datadir getinfo
If you start with datadir you must always add it when sending commands to the daemon as well. Running it as windows service i have no experience with so you have to look for that your self. I did upload an Upstart script for ubuntu to the contrib folder on GitHub a while ago.
