The future of education will all be online.

Sure kids might go some place with teachers assistants or a type of "babysitter" for a few hours to work on their online assignments, but it will still all be done online.

Florida already offers a full, free curriculum online where you can get full credit including a high school diploma.

The teacher's union is unionizing teachers right out of a job.

On a side note regarding "education paradigms", most of college, and much of grad school could easily be done online. I haven't gone to a single lecture after like 4 months of starting, since I can get everything online and there are better teachers out there than what most schools offer (Khan Academy etc).

But with the huge demand for country club campuses and government guaranteeing loans (even if you pursue something like art history), tuition will never stop increasing.
Right now there's a proposal in California to have the state pay for STEM fields tuition. The student pays it back in the form of an income tax after graduation. The proposal is limited to STEM fields because "he doesn’t want a bunch of lazy arts students taking advantage of free tuition and paying back almost nothing from their negligible future salaries."
It's hysterical that he actually said that, mostly because he's right and that's so rare for politicians

No he isn't.
Long term education decisions shouldn't always be driven by the market.
Often times the market is shortsighted and we undervalue many forms of education and art

The whole idea of university and scholarly pursuit should have at least some degree of independence both from political pressure and economics.

Some of the greatest advancements to human thought and philosophy have come from those deemed less valuable by the markets of their respective time.

We should be encouraging STEM studies. I'm not saying I'm against you going for an English or liberal arts degree, it's just I believe if were going to help someone get an education it should be in science, technology or math, so they could possibly use it in the future for something other than making sure the drive-through orders are correct.
I don't think anyone is saying that non-STEM fields should be funded while STEM fields aren't funded.
There's nothing really wrong with that , but as far as practical application is concerned, obviously STEM fields are much more likely to be paid back. I don't think loans should be issued to arts and science majors as though they are all of equal risk. If you're going into a field that is less likely to be able to afford to pay back the loan, then that should factor into whether you get a loan, and it should factor into the loan amount as well.

if you are going to make more money as a science major
you should be willing to pay more for your credits than an art major

Hillary is too ugly to be a president. I don't want to see her face on the broadcast news and papers too

I'll say that people don't always vote based on looks, and actually , thank god they don't.
Image the whole world run by pornstars Smiley.
I would vote for Hilary because she is environmentally correct and wears nylon or wool pantsuits. Given the surface area between her thunder thighs, and calculating the static electricity she generates just by walking around, she alone could provide enough electricity for a city the size of East St. Louis.

Love this guy Fousey tube, I commend him in opening everyone eyes, he should be nominated for a nobel peace prize.  I hope that each of you open your eyes and start supporting companies that do for others instead of the ones who take and take and take with no giving back.

Well, she seems to say she supports the right to own firearms so everything depends on her actual nuances. For example, if a problem developed with actual assault weapons, at least my definition of assault weapons, then I would be for further restrictions on them. I'm not so sure it makes sense to keep some fully automatic weapons or SAM launchers, or bazookas in metropolitan areas. But I don't see it as worth dealing with until an actual problem develops.

The government can take my RPGs when they pry them from my cold dead hands.

What a terrible infringement to have a back ground check when buying a handgun. I mean the world is clearly ending.
I don't see background checks  as much of an issue. The only thing that bothers me is registration of the real issue is hand guns and carrying them. When I look at the difference is lost between the US, and say Canada, the biggest difference seems to be carrying concealed or open carry handguns.

Also let's face it, if handguns weren't used in homicides, the numbers would drop dramatically. Rifles and shit are really small numbers, and as far as I know, there aren't many restrictions on long guns in Canada. I'm not sure what the solution is. It certainly isn't significant legislation, because the second amendment will hold up mostly. There needs to be reasonable discussion by people who know about guns, not the dipstick politicians who try for ridiculous changes based on emotion or looks.

There should be a way to deal with it, but it certainly won't be dealt with by pro gun nuts, or anti gun nuts. Those people only want to keep to their own agenda.

Its funny that you said this cause my freinds boyfriend is coo coo and I really dont know a guy with OCD or ACD get a gun so easily.  HE would flip out if anyone challenges him.

I got 80 watts laser from china. It can easily cut holes on any limps it even cut wood  Smiley
I can't tell if you are lying or got scammed. If it's a portable laser 5 watts is the max. Plus I doubt the quality of the laser. Where do you even get the power rating from?

It was not design to be portable. It weight around 35 kgs, I assemble it on my own.  Smiley

If It's true thats insane  Shocked What do you do with such powerful laser?
I was thinking one time of an invention that you can make a real power lightsaber with laser by stoping the laser using a with a crystal mirror and encase it in a glass tube, thought illiumiation might hurt hurt the eyes but I wanna do an experiment like this  one day.
1129  Other / Off-topic / Re: I just got a laser! on: May 11, 2014, 01:04:09 AM
Oh, that sounds digusting. Perhaps kill flies with it?

IMAO your so evil, well just dont point at the planes doing so can get you very much in trouble with the law.

1131  Economy / Economics / Re: How the rich got rich and stayed rich without lifting a finger. on: May 11, 2014, 12:55:57 AM
The reason why this happens is because the rich stay within a network to help each other out, like my freinds boss was a dentist owner and his freind sold dental supplies so they worked hand to hand to keep getting rich while the other comeptitors cant compete cause everyone helps each other within there network.  I hope that makes sense.

With all the horror stories that surfaced, it's not really surprising that torture under Bush was worse than his Administration appeared to understand.

Also really great thing was that my prez banned sanctioned torture on Day one

Everyone must undergo an instant background check for any firearms purchase. The fact you think there is a "loophole" for this shows just how utterly stupid you are.
1134  Other / Off-topic / Re: I just got a laser! on: May 11, 2014, 12:33:17 AM
Haha! You can pop at least 30 ballons with it
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mRjhLNk97Ek

And permanently blinding someone is not hard. In fact, many people with lasers have accidentally given themselves permanent eye damage.

Well is gonna be a great tool to kill any vermin with , why dont you do experiments get urself some protective eye wear and figure a way to make a laser more powerful.

I never realized how easy my life was, until now. I also never realized how crappy the USA is, until now. What a great video that brings people together.

If you liked that video, you'll love the one on that page about The White Privilege Conference...

I didnt know there was any racism in the tea party, use to think they would actually make things worse then help any situation

Ha... finally someone from the Western world had the guts to open their mouths:

Amnesty International decries sentencing of Saudi  blogger Badawi as "outrageous."

Quote
Amnesty International called Wednesday's judgment outrageous and called for the conviction to be overturned.

"He is a prisoner of conscience who is guilty of nothing more than daring to create a public forum for discussion and peacefully exercising the right to freedom of expression.," said Philip Luther, director of the Middle East and North Africa program at Amnesty International.

You know all the people have to stand up together and do the same thing he did and fight for him.  I respect a man like that, and would love to see if maybe we can petition to bring him to the USA

It is kinda sad that this happen to that poor man, I would love also to get him out of that country, and as Bryant says it probably wont happen,  Sheessh always the good people gotta suffer.
