11201  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin defeats the Chinese government on: April 22, 2017, 02:10:27 PM
If bitcoin defeated the chines government then it would be just for temporary and not permanent because any kind of government from any part of the world will not allow that to get defeated by just one currency like bitcoin. They will do anything for them to get the control again and as much as they can they will try to control bitcoin for their own purposes.

Bitcoin is not waging a war with any government not now not ever. The Chinese government just want to tightens and put regulations in place, aiming to bring practices in line with how bitcoin is traded in other markets. Chinese investors have fled the market since authorities started scrutinizing bitcoin trading in China, prompting exchanges to install trading fees and, in some cases, to suspend withdrawal of bitcoin from their platforms.

So its not bitcoin fault, the Chinese took advantage of the technology and the Chinese government has caught up with them by placing regulation. Fake Chinese trading volumes are thing of the past now.

11203  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-04-22]7 Reasons Why BTC Price is Now Climbing to $1300 on: April 22, 2017, 09:32:54 AM
7 Reasons Why BTC Price is Now Climbing to $1300

Key Resistance Level at $1,300

BTC price is again coming within striking distance of the critical $1,300 mark, currently sitting at $1,250 at press time.

Back on March 6, Bitcoin set the all-time closing high of $1,277 with a record-high spike of around $1,330 a few days later fueled by ETF hype before crashing more than 25% after the rejection by the Securities and Exchange Commission.

But the world’s first decentralized cryptocurrency has rallied since its March 24 low of $960 when divisive politics and heightened fears of a hard fork put downward pressure on the price.

What’s more, the resurgence also comes at a time when Chinese exchanges have still not resumed their Bitcoin withdrawals.

http://bitcoinist.com/positive-trends-bitcoin-btc-price-1300/

Almost all of them are not new to most members here. However, I don't agree with the # 5:

"Fifth, major companies such as Microsoft are beginning to actually use the Bitcoin blockchain for other things besides money such as record time-stamping and document verification. "

Microsoft lately has been contradicting itself regarding Bitcoin/Blockchain Technology acceptance. And now this is a major U-turn again. This for me is for experiment or use case purpose only, so I doubt it may have contribute to the rise of bitcoin price lately.

11205  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Negative effects of technology on: April 22, 2017, 08:57:29 AM
I was so pissed off this afternoon because I asked my son to do the some house chores like washing the plates. When I come back he still didn't do it and instead he is still on his tablet playing. So I still give him a chance to do the chores so he obliged. But unfortunately, he break a plate. I was so mad at him for doing that, so I confiscated the tablet for now. I think he is to attached to the virtual world because his mind is pre-occupied with something that he totally forgotten where to properly put the plate. I have to discipline him, otherwise it will get worse. He is 10 years of age.
11206  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin and Africa on: April 22, 2017, 08:27:10 AM
Africa has already BitPesa, so I doubt that bitcoin will not gain popularity in Africa. In my opinion having low IQ is a not hindrance, people just need a basic concept (like buying and seling) of how money works. So if they know that bitcoin can be convert to fiat then I think more people from Africa will take advantage of bitcoin technology. This will be more evident in countries like Nigeria and Kenya, as per BitPesa website. Bitcoin is truly conquering the global scene, US, UK, Russia then Asia now Africa.
11207  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is BTC for you? on: April 22, 2017, 07:48:18 AM
Just like a said before, I used my earn bitcoin to add more capital or cash flow on my off-line business. So its really a big help for me in terms of a cash flow that anytime I know I can pull from my wallet. Also, I used m bitcoin to pay my bills and credit cards as well. Lately, I tried to save bitcoins as well because the price is really looking up to this point so saving it for a long term is a good investment for me.
11208  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump praises Chinese efforts on North Korea 'menace,' Pyongyang warns of strike on: April 21, 2017, 07:43:56 AM
China will not side with North Korea if ever the North Koreans decided to war United States. No benefits from China, in political, social or economics point of view. And they know that North Korea will not listen to them anyways and their relations to their North Korea neighbors is already strained.

As for the US, they will not start a war with the North Korea unless being provoked. Should a military confrontation erupt, North Korea could not win a sustained war against a far more powerful U.S. military aided by regional allies.
11209  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Quitting Weed on: April 20, 2017, 02:53:41 PM
I saw the other post regarding quitting smoking, but it appeared to be more focused on cigarettes and nicotine. I've never smoke cigarettes. I have smoked weed for 15 years almost everyday. I am on my 4th day without weed cold turkey. Day 1 and 2 were brutal. I vomited. I was nauseated. That has passed. My anxiety levels are through the roof with some depression. My appetite is zero. My mood is pretty much wanting to beat the shit out of everyone and everything. Sleep? What is that? I ran 3 miles today (I ran 4-5 days a week even when I smoked). That helped tremendously. Baths help.

Anyone else quit cold turkey? Any advice? Your experience?

First off, cold turkey is a no go. You have been using this substance for the last x years, your body will not appreciate you suddenly cutting off its supply of a usual substance. The anxiety is mitigatible, occupy yourself. You don't smoke.while.you are out and about, be more out and about. Besides occupying yourself, ID suggest stepping down in a reasonable manner (halve your consumption every week). The aggression will dissappear; it's simply withdrawal.

I have been smoking pot most days for the last 15 years myself. I don't intend to quit Wink

If you've been smoking weed for the last 15 years, then could turkey is not possible because you are already dependent on it and its hards to push past your craving because biology cannot be conquered by sheer willpower sometimes. Only option for you is to do a full rehabilitation. Because rehab will give you a intensive treatment, medical help and counseling during the process. You just have to remember though that you have to fully commit to it, including the monetary aspects to put your life to back together once again. Goodluck mate.
11210  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Internet Marketing on: April 20, 2017, 02:25:51 PM
Internet marketing was a good idea, but most of the person's I encountered were not trusted to this kind of business. Because they experience of scammed, however some people were not stop to proof that their different from the others and they prove to them that their business are legit.

Maybe why they don't trust Internet Marketing is because they do not put enough effort to advertisement the product they want to sell or their SEO company that do not provide good results to them. That is why I'm been telling all along, that the niche or the product that you are going to sell should not be market saturated, otherwise it will be difficult to promote it.

But if you still want to still sell the product even though is already market saturated, a video vouch from a customers is a good way to add some trust in your product and that what's make your product different from the already saturated market is a good way as others have pointed out.
11211  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-04-18] Bitcoin Demand Continues to Rise in India as Cash Reserves Run Dry on: April 20, 2017, 01:54:31 PM
This week all eyes are watching India as citizens are having trouble accessing cash reserves as ATMs run dry throughout the country. Alongside these troublesome economic times, bitcoin trading is increasing substantially in India, as the country is one of the hottest bitcoin regions in the world right now next to China and Japan.

Right now there is significant demand in India for cash as banks and ATMs within the country are currently experiencing a shortage of physical notes. According to regional publications, some regions in India are reporting 90 percent of the local ATMs do not have cash. Sources in the country say the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has moved some of its cash reserves to certain areas within the country due to the recent elections.

Read More Here >>> https://news.bitcoin.com/bitcoin-demand-rise-cash-run-dry-india/

I'm not surprise by this news quite frankly, they have started demonetization since last year. The government of India decided to demonetize Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes on November 8 as a against black money, corruption, fakes and terror financing meant 90% of the currency in use ceased to be legal tender.

So this is the one of the reason for the increased demand of bitcoin in India because they are frustrated by the government's decision and are now looking for a way to store or accumulate their money to be out of government's reach.
11212  Economy / Speculation / Re: Speculation on the price of BTC if Bitfinex does a Gox on: April 20, 2017, 09:02:58 AM
~
My opinion is that the price isn't going to drop, ~

logically speaking price shouldn't drop because there is no reason for it to drop. when you compare bitfinex to the total daily volume traded in bitcoin you can see that they are tiny with their less than 8% volume of total.
and also on top of that, even if they close down today, majority of users have already cashed out their bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies out of pure fear! so there isn't really much left on the platform!!

but we all know bitcoin price has never been logical. so if bitfinex closes down, price will drop because again majority of traders are looking for any excuse to dump and buy the weak hands cheap.

Agreed mate. Bitfinex has only 8% of the total value. So the impact on the market price is slim. But I don't think that it will go to 3 digit figure. Bitcoin price has been resilient lately to any issue to bring the price down. So I don't believe the impact will be huge to price. As pointed as well, many has already withdraw most of the funds out of Bitfinex, many traders has either Kraken and Poloniex as their main trading platforms already.
11213  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will BTC vs. BU be decided? on: April 20, 2017, 07:50:34 AM
It has been decided already. BTC works in every single department. The only way BU can cause the disaster-hardfork is if Bitmain invests even more millions on hashrate to cause teh 51% split, then we will see the hardfork but people will quickly dump BTU for BTC because a coin with inferior software centralized in china is just nonsense.

I agree. Bu is mostly done. Nobody wants to run that buggy stuff with closed source code in it, which also has roles like a president, secretary and such bs.The number of BU nodes continues decreasing by the way.
There won't be a hardfork imo as long as Jihan Wu and his buddies do not try to perform a 51% attack.

Yeah. They are dead already. The support is decreasing everyday. I think SegWit currently at 31% support. Bitcoin price is steady rising at ~1% everday. Slowly but surely. But if hardfork happens, it will pull the price of bitcoin bigtime and we don't want that to happened. So we are all happy the BU didn't get support and dying already. FUD spread has also gone in our community. So I think they already given up. Maybe their strategy now is blocking the implementation of SegWit.
11214  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Earthquake hits Manila on: April 20, 2017, 07:20:26 AM
I'm also from the Philippines. I was in Pasay when it happened, and you can really feel it. Let's just pray that none of the earthquake gets worst. Keep safe guys! x hugs

Philippines sits close to the Pacific ring of fire, so there is always the probability of a major earthquake striking the country. Perhaps the government should put more emphasis on making sure that the building codes are followed.

That is really true, the fact that it has many volcanoes and plates that mobes makes the Philippines one of these country. I guess the Government needs to be more alert especially the residents of each country close to a plate. I am also feom the Philippines and I felt these earthquake, many people are getting scared of what may happen.

I think the Philippine government has already put enough effort to be prepared in such scenario. But knowing Filipino's for being stubborn and will not leave their place identified to be prone to be hit by earthquake after several warnings from the Government. It's up to the people to follow what the NDRCC has put so casualties can be minimized. Again, the probability of a big Earthquake is possible, that's why we should all be prepared anytime.
11215  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: the future of gambling on: April 20, 2017, 06:38:06 AM
OP you are not describing the future, that is what happening right now, besides trading the most successful industry in bitcoin is without a doubt gambling since it gives big earnings and people love to use bitcoin because ti allows them to gamble without reveling their identities.
The future of gambling is not worth it yes you are right trading is the most successful intrustry right now.  Gambling are so risky but they always gambling because its gives a big profit once they win. But any time gambling can stop.

LOL. You don't understand how gambling works and how they are earning to say that the future of gambling is not worth. More and more people are discovering on-line gambling everyday and even if someone has quit gambling, someone will take his place and play again and be addicted.

I agree with OP, except for the fiat extinction. Fiat cannot be replaced by bitcoin. But fiat and bitcoin can co-exist. Bitcoin has been heavily integrated in on-line games. The volumes of bitcoin in on-line gaming speaks about the future of bitcoin use in gambling industry.
11216  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it still worth it to trade? on: April 20, 2017, 05:52:18 AM
Yes it is still worth to trade but for now since the bitcoin value is high its price you may earn a little profit. You may search for an altcoin which buy at lower price and sell it if earn profit already. So for me its still worth to trade as long you invest and be profitable.
Profiting through trading is quite good and worth depending on the person who involve into it. Trading has got risks and with simple concept one cannot profit high through trading. One needs to be good in making the price predictions in a better way as well needs to spend time on price analysis over a period of time. This will help to fix the profit margin and make good earning even if there is not much fluctuations.

We all know that in trading the risk is always present. Whether you just invest a little or big amount you can't be sure that you will profit. However, if the person wants to mitigate the risk, then one should start trading with amount that you can only afford to lose. And then gradually increase you investment as you become more experience in reading the market trends. So the more experience you become, the more chance of you profiting big amount making you a professional trader. Making trading worth of your time and money.
11217  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SAUDI Bitcoin Trading on LocalBitcoins TO THE MOON on: April 20, 2017, 05:20:39 AM
I think we can expect the same or even better growth in neighboring countries and even in other parts of Asia, most especially East Asia, where Japan and China are leading the way. Even Southeast Asian countries are starting to warm up on bitcoin with more local exchanges popping up, which was unheard of three or five years ago.

Yeah. The Philippines, which recently put up regulations on bitcoin, Indonesia, HongKong and Singapore which is in South East Asian region are already prepared for bitcoin undertaking. I'm not surprise that Saudi Arabia joined the scene. Dubai has already embraced Blockchain technology, executing executing all of its transactions on a blockchain by 2020. Even Bitcoin wallet and block explorer resource Blockchain has focused its expansion efforts with investment in the Middle Eastern region as well.

Although $100,000 is minimal, but I think this is significant and we can used it to gauge how Saudi bitcoin trading will be in the future. We might also see an increase of members from Saudi Arabia here in bct, which is also a good sign that more and more users are into bitcoin from there.

11218  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Do you have an idea to invest your bitcoin in offline business? on: April 19, 2017, 03:17:33 PM
if you wan offline business is much idea
you want big business or low business, still bitcoin business or outside bitcoin business
if low business and outside bitcoin business , you can try internet rent, photocopy if you location near campus, top up in smartphone, internet quota , restaurant and more

if you have much bitcoin you can open big business

your right ye its nice to think if you make your own business in outside . My idea first i trade bitcoin in peso because im here in Philippines and in our place need computer shop so i Make business computer shop it would be helpful for students

No doubt that internet business is still on peak and appealing to everyone here in the Philippines. And to tell you honestly, you don't need that much capital to established one unlike in the past. In less than or around BTC1 you can start an internet cafe here and with good numbers and specs of PC.

And there are also companies offering bundle package which you will pay on monthly basis. One good example is PisoNet packages of PLDT. You might want to check it.

How much does a computer cost there in Phillipines? If you are able to start an internet cafe with around 1 Bitcoin it's a very cheap business to run, also you need to have a physical store to start it or rent one. Is it really profitable and cheap to start?

That is a cool idea to start with bitcoin because internet cafe is good business where you can make a little bit of money, but at the same time you need opt for xerox copies, in this way you will make good profit. I don't know exactly how the shop rents in the Phillipines.

Internet shop or cafe are really booming in the Philippines. Specially right now that it already end of school and beginning of summer. My offline business is still doing good at the moment and thanks to bitcoin, I was able to add a little cash flow on my mini store just in front of my home. But I'm still looking for another offline business and Internet cafe is one of it I'm just looking for a perfect place to put it up with. I'm saving around 1.5-2 BTC at the moment for capital startup.
11219  Economy / Speculation / Re: effect of Japan on bitcoin price speculation on: April 19, 2017, 02:42:13 PM
i am talking about a "speculation topic" talking about the "price" of bitcoin and how it can be affected by this news.
all the topic you say are all saying "yaaay Japan accepts bitcoin", and then comments are all "this is good news" Wink
For now all I can say is that if this Japan accepts bitcoin hype continues and become reality bitcoin will reach new all time highs  more than 1400$ maybe 1500$+. It will also make bitcoin price move a lot because many transactions will happen and maybe it will help get bitcoin stable to a fixed price ranges lasting weeks or months long even if it moves a lot.

Don't look at the effect of bitcoin being legal in Japan as short term. Right now the price of bitcoin is rising at a steady phase. Maybe the effect is already there. Are we feeling at the effect, definitely because of the price growth. But we should be very cautious and jump into conclusions that we can record a new ATH because of the Japanese news. We should measure the effect I say in the next six months and see how the market price of bitcoin moves. Its not even a month since the news, so for me we still have to wait and see the change as a result of the news.
11220  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you deal with loss? on: April 19, 2017, 07:11:44 AM
When I get lost on trading, I wont really care about it very much as I have prepared for it before start trading. No need to think about it further and lets try to recover it with other tradings. Losing in trading should not be a nightmare as long as you are ready to lose, but if you think that you will always get profit on tradind then losing can be the worst nightmare you never seen before.
My personal advice must be, do not try to recover your losses in next day trading itself. When you are treating your losses not similar to nightmare, I believe you can go forward for another round of trading without worrying about recovering your losses.

As long as you are taking light your losses, you could concentrate on your further trading so that you could recover on the same day or in near future. When you will be worrying about your losses, you will accommodate more losses and nothing else.

Nice advice. Although I only trade small amounts and money that I can only afford to lost, so I'm pretty much on the OK-side of losing money. However, if big amounts is involved its hard to recover from it and others might resort of thinking of recouping what they lost in the previous days. Because if you try to do it, your emotions will get involved and you may not used technical analysis in buying or selling that might result in more lost in your end.
