11221  Economy / Economics / Re: Illegal use of Bitcoin effecting its value? on: July 26, 2014, 07:26:02 PM
I don't think that Illegal use of Bitcoin will affect its value but I'm concern about reaction from USA and other Western governments if Bitcoin become famous like tool for money laundry.
This will be very bad for the development of Bitcoin and its global acceptance.
11222  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Satoshi Nakamoto The Man Of Sin mentioned in the holy bible? on: July 26, 2014, 07:11:51 PM
I think we shouldn't put in the same basket business and religion.
Religion talks about God, spirituality and salvation of man.
Bitcoin is virtual currency, in the way business and have nothing with Bible or spirituality Smiley
I really don't see how you can put Bitcoin and Bible in the same sentence.
11223  Other / Off-topic / Re: guess satoshi's nationality on: July 26, 2014, 06:59:33 PM
He took Japanese name but this doesn't mean he id from Japan.
He can be Japanese in USA, UK, any other country...
Also, we can't know if this is just one person or group of people, even can be some corporation.
Probably we will never discover his true identity.

11224  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Ukraine's prospects for future on: July 25, 2014, 07:44:03 PM
Need bailout from the IMF or EU

They will get the bailout from EU / IMF. But at a huge cost. The IMF will ask them to reduce pensions by 80%, to fire 50% of the government employees and to make a haircut from all the savings bank accounts (just like what happened in Cyprus).

I think this will happen, they will go like the path of Cyprus. In the end, the Ukrainian people are worse of - no matter what side they support - than before this war.

Yes, I agree with this.
It looks that there is no win scenario for Ukraine people in this war, they are fighting with stronger military power (Russia), have no money and EU giving them just declarative support and empty promises.
Any way, their politicians will have to make some very difficult decisions soon and probably will have to solve their situation in direct negotiation with Russia.
I'm not sure if they can avoid financial collapse, and in this war I don't think they can win or get everything they want.

11226  Other / Off-topic / Re: Where I'd Want to Be During an Earthquake on: July 25, 2014, 06:54:33 PM
As far as possible I guess Smiley
If in the house I heard that under the table is the safest place if no time to run out.
Any way, it's the best not to come to this situation.
11227  Other / Politics & Society / Re: is killing innocent people necesary just for the sake of thier belief? on: July 25, 2014, 06:46:56 PM
This situation is unresolved already for to long, over 60 years, since 1948 or 1945.
Positions from both sides are so extreme and different that it looks that is impossible that they make any kid of peace agreement, at least not in the near future and not with current political leaders.
Sometimes I feel that both sides just pretend that they seek peace but in fact this situation helps them both politically to stay in power.
Very sad, tragic situation but I don't see any fast solution.
11228  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying NASDAQ stocks with bitcoins? Is it possible already? on: July 25, 2014, 06:36:30 PM
There are ways to buy stocks with bitcoins but not on NASDAQ yet as far as I know, even though it might be possible to get someone to do that, but then there would be a middle man and your profits would be lower. Until there is a way to get directly I don't see a use from it.

Exactly my thought.
...But, if we can find a way to get Bitcoin directly at NASDAQ it will help exposure and acceptance of Bitcoin, more people will talk about it, more media will cover it and eventually this will help popularity of Bitcoin.

11229  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you sometimes wish internet was never invented? Wouldn't your life be better? on: July 25, 2014, 06:25:06 PM
No really.
I think Internet really help us in numerous ways, communication, doing business, sharing news almost instant.
Of course, it's not good to depend to much on Internet or spend to much time, specially for kids.
We should also develop our social life outside of virtual world, meet and talk with the real people Smiley
11230  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is It True Love? on: July 25, 2014, 03:32:08 PM
It's seems you are not very optimistic that true love really exist.

11231  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Social Security on: July 25, 2014, 03:15:26 PM
Do away with it or keep it? If do away with it, do you replace it with something, and if so what? If keep it, what do you do to address the funding shortfall that arises in 20 years?

For us in Europe it's not the question to keep social security or not but just how to improve it because people in general are older in Europe now than before, less children, economy collapsing etc.
Main problem now is that more and more people are retired and less and less people working and contributing to social security system.
11232  Economy / Economics / Re: Is 1 bitcoin a decent and good investment? on: July 25, 2014, 03:10:46 PM
It's very difficult question at the moment.
Bitcoin is still on very early stage, not globally accepted so it's impossible to predict future now.
Of course that we hope that value of Bitcoin will rise but even Bitcoin is crypto currency still this is free market, and you must consider this point.
Golden rule. Invest just money you can afford to loose Smiley
11233  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Facebook about to embrace Bitcoin? on: July 25, 2014, 02:51:34 PM
Why not?
Many other big companies like Dell already accepting Bitcoin or planning it (Amazon).
I think for FB this will be smart move because they have a lot users who are outside of USA, not used (or don't have) to CC, so if they offer Butcoin I think many FB users will educate themselves about it and happily accept this way of payment.
Digital currency for digital services FB is offering to his users, why not?
In my opinion this is win win scenario but of course FB officials will decide.
11234  Other / Off-topic / Re: Great television series? on: July 25, 2014, 01:39:54 PM
I personally like historical series like Roots, Borgia, Kennedy, North and South etc.
Remember watching North and South a few times in last 6-7 years!
Fantastic story and testimony from the most exciting time in USA history!
11235  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why so many planes crashing/disappearing recently? on: July 25, 2014, 01:29:40 PM
The MH17 in Ukraine that everyone know about.
The Taiwan plane crash that killed 48 people:

http://edition.cnn.com/2014/07/23/world/asia/taiwan-plane-crash/

And now the Algerian one carrying 110+ people:

http://edition.cnn.com/2014/07/24/world/africa/air-algerie-flight/index.html?hpt=hp_t1

Not counting the super stealth plane that disappeared somewhere near Malasya last year and still no clue about what happened.

Is this just coincidence, or something behind this? From generalized  lack of investments in security from the airline companies to maybe selective killings or some diversion to something that is happening or going to happen?

I don't see any conspiracy here, in the case of malasya airlines maybe even not coincidence.
Why?
In both cases their officials made mistakes.
It's obvious that in first case pilot had strange behavior (before the flight) and they should know this or at least check out their pilots more regularly.
In second case, they wanted to save money on petrol and didn't want to change route of the plane.
this was tragic mistake.
Of course we can't blame them as directly responsible but such 3 events in very short time really can't be coincidence in my opinion.

11236  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is China Hoarding Gold? on: July 25, 2014, 01:14:45 PM
Gold means stability and independence from the USD. Independence from the USD means more sovereignty, especially in a possible USD collapse. All the recent BRICS' talk about being more independent form the USD is an example for this tendency.

In order to maintain its exchange rates policy (keeping the value of the Renmimbi from appreciating versus the USD) China holds a massive amount of U.S. Treasury Bonds. They cannot simply dump it, for it would cause Yuan's appreciation, disturbing their exports.

At the same time, they also want to achieve the above mentioned stability, independence and sovereignty. That's why, maybe, little by little their intention is to substitute the USD they hold, diversifying it with other holdings like gold (and, who knows in the future, BTC).

(Just a guess)

This.

They want to diversify what they have, instead of huddling all their money in USD and then going down WITH the United States if the USd collapses. They're taking their accumulated cash, putting it into gold (To retain value over time) to help protect their economy.

Along with a lot of the talk about the re-institution of the gold standard in some countries - which will cause the US fiat to get hit hard - China may be interested in instituting the gold standard, since they're one of two countries the US can't just stomp in and invade.

But that's just a theory I came up with in my head, with some other parts of data included, so take it with a grain of salt.

Very good explanation.
I the past USA economy was very strong and on the top so US dollar become mainstream currency.
Now, as USA is in economic and financial crisis, not to mention their huge debt and China is stronger day by day (in economy and finance, not yet in politics and military but this is also just question of time), it's obvious that USA will loose their privilege position and China will take over, together with BRICS countries.
11237  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Great news from Dell and Alienware on: July 25, 2014, 12:57:22 PM
I think it is a great news https://twitter.com/coinbase/status/492347634682576896
Dell offering 10% discount when purchasing Alienware with Bitcoin. Hope they spread this to other Dell products.

So Alienware now accepts Bitcoin! https://twitter.com/Alienware/status/492351443899138048
I know this would make sense as Alienware is Dell.

This is great news!
As time pass, I'm sure that more and more top world companies will accept Bitcoin as payment option and this will help us to become mainstream soon Smiley
Can you check if this offer is just for USA customers or also available to the customers outside of USA?
I hope this offer is for everybody.

11238  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [PrimeDice] Track Your Earnings! on: July 25, 2014, 12:47:54 PM
I made a site that shows statistics of one of the most popular signature promotions: PrimeDice.
It shows your balance, the profit per day, your rank, your activity etc.

The url is http://talkera.org.cp-in-1.webhostbox.net/pd/?uid=207962
Change uid to your uid.

Some examples:
http://talkera.org.cp-in-1.webhostbox.net/pd/?uid=334898  (ranochigo)
http://talkera.org.cp-in-1.webhostbox.net/pd/?uid=53737   (DubFx)
http://talkera.org.cp-in-1.webhostbox.net/pd/?uid=224248  (MICRO)
http://talkera.org.cp-in-1.webhostbox.net/pd/?uid=325115  (Candystripes)

The chart takes a moment to load, wait ~ 5 seconds.

What do you think about this little project? Any requests?

p.s. I'm not affiliated or even a participant with PrimeDice, it's purely a hobby project.

Great tool, thank you for sharing!
It's great to be able to be in control of my bitcoin campaign earnings on daily basis.
Now, I can even make some working plans and calculate my earnings based on the time invested.
Very useful tool for other participants in this campaign.
