11341  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Asian vs. Western Investors on: June 22, 2017, 10:59:18 PM
I think it's pretty clear that there's always been a large difference between crackers and Asians.

Look at the sheer fever of the Chinese stock market. Can you imagine the US government shutting down the NYSE to save its own population?

There's definitely a characteristic in there that's more prone to mania. We're seeing in Korea with ETH as well.
11342  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How much risk in bitcoin investement ? on: June 22, 2017, 10:56:20 PM
It was the past when bitcoin investment was a highest risk now itcame out from that stage and now if any person invest in this coin then he do not worry for any risk because now everyone know that in the long term the price of bitcoin increase and no one will lose in this investment.

That's a truly berserk attitude to take.

People inside the crypto bubble have gotten far too comfortable with the idea that world domination is inevitable. It's still a tiny and very fragile market.

The theories being thrown around that the Chinese government has taken over mining or central banks are dumping on Yobit are laughable. If they really did decide to do something expect near instant vapourisation.
11343  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: June 22, 2017, 09:23:51 PM
can someone please explain why there isn't more DIMCOIN hype??

Because it is way too expensive, unfortunately!

Lack of Ethereum insiders is the key reason I presume.
11344  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Bitadress.org on: June 22, 2017, 07:18:24 PM
The equivalent for Litecoin is - https://liteaddress.org/

But as stated above it's for making paper wallets. That won't be practical if you intend to spend regularly. You'd need an active wallet. Paper wallets are best for long term storage mainly.

The best option is a hardware wallet like a Trezor or Ledger Nano as they're the most secure but they cost a fair bit so it depends how much you have.
11345  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin is the better Bitcoin because Charlie is Satoshi! on: June 22, 2017, 06:57:17 PM
Bitcoin will only work when 0 confirmed transactions are universally accepted & WAY more tps (transaction per second) are possible.

Odd. It's been working perfectly for several years without any overweening issues. May I suggest Paypal for you? I've heard it's the coming thing.

Mr. Lee took all that hard work, fiddled with it a little bit, and then off he went. Far more than I could've done but not quite the achievement that Satoshi managed.
11346  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: On Bitcoin, India's Government And Tech Companies Find Common Ground on: June 22, 2017, 10:29:17 AM
If they 'legalised' it and Bitcoin really started to take off there I'd give it a few weeks before they came down on it like a ton of bricks.

This is a country that does everything it can to restrict gold, let alone what they did with bog standard cash. Why would they let BTC get anywhere when it's potentially just as much of a threat?
11347  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What should I do to protect myself from the crypto bubble? on: June 22, 2017, 10:26:06 AM
Use your crypto to buy dollars. Then you are 100% insulated. Do not buy USDT. They are not dollars.

You'd better your timing right though.

And the idea of protecting yourself from an alt implosion by buying other alts beggar belief. None of them justify their prices.
11348  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 21, 2017, 11:05:57 PM
Were any of you lucky enough to swap out some BTC to ETH during that flash crash?  I'm reading around that it briefly touched $13.   What a steal...I'm sitting in front of a computer all day at work and I can't believe I missed it.   I usually have the charts up on at least one of my windows on one of my screens while I'm doing other work.

Coinbase stopped trading pretty quickly it looks like though...

What is it about GDAX that attracts the grottiest traders? There's been an incredibly clumsy Bitcoin trader on there for ages now too spoofing things all over the place. Maybe they have a special section for sub teenagers.
11349  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 21, 2017, 10:20:26 PM
There's also the fact that every time Ethereum comes close to Bitcoin in the number of transactions processed, exchanges needs to shut down ETH processing completely and wait for it to blow over.

Any idea what's different about the mechanisms that creates that problem? I know nothing about how ETH works. When I peruse a forum on it I feel like your old auntie looking at a Bitcoin forum because she has to pay her revenge porn ransom.
11350  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: credit card bitcoins on: June 21, 2017, 10:15:56 PM
Debit cards are a huge boon to people in countries with crappy exchange situations if they're looking to spend or cash out a little.

The big operators now send cards to a lot of countries. Some of them with barely any Bitcoin presence at all. You pay a foreign currency fee but it still beats meeting some geezer in a souk to get some cash.

Here's Xapo's list - https://support.xapo.com/which-countries-can-the-xapo-debit-card-be-shipped-to
11351  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you include bitcoins in your will (and make it a quest)? on: June 21, 2017, 09:06:26 PM
I have no children and ideally will never have any.

If I did I'd have to think long and hard about it. A depressingly large amount of families seem to come apart at the seams when money's up for grabs.

The quest element would add the opportunity for them to slowly murder each other.
11352  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: June 21, 2017, 08:31:10 PM
Price targets are not predictable for crypto currencies. There were so many predictions in the past and almost all were wrong more or less.

The release of Catapult is a major event for NEM ecosystem. So it is very likely that it will influence the price positively. I expect it but I do not predict it.

Ultimately all it is is nice software.

The question is how will this software be capitalised upon and who's going to do it?
11353  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 21, 2017, 07:44:01 PM
Is anyone else surprised the market hasn't responded more positively to the recent developments RE:segwit?

It's a long way from being in the bag yet, and I still think there's a vast amount of confusion out there. Does it put any fork possibilities to bed? Who's in charge of the code? Will there be bodged changes in the final version? What does Core make of it? What does everyone who wasn't part of the NY thing think of it? Does it also include some type of greater power transfer to Chinese miners?

And on top of that traders have never really cared all that much about the scaling thing. It's the people who actually use it who do the most and they have less power over the price.

11354  Economy / Services / Re: [OPEN] | 🔥 Bitmixer.io Signature Campaign 🔥 | Earn up to 0.035 BTC/week on: June 21, 2017, 07:16:17 PM
pure for-profit posting.

The definition of that would be utterly useless posts, of which there are no shortage here. As he doesn't do that type of thing then it's all gravy.
11355  Economy / Services / Re: [OPEN] | 🔥 Bitmixer.io Signature Campaign 🔥 | Earn up to 0.035 BTC/week on: June 21, 2017, 06:48:02 PM
Have we already reached the point of no longer pretending to be 'natural poster' aka "I would post in the same manner even if I didn't get paid"?

That poster has always been open about only being in it for the money. When he was in the Coinsbank campaign, or whatever it was, which was unlimited he certainly piled those posts high.
11356  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 21, 2017, 06:38:41 PM
Well, poloniex ETH/BTC is the main market. So i assume most of this ICO ETH would go through bitcoin part... So i got scared...

Have you tried to withdraw a significant amount from Poloniex recently? No one's getting their limits raised and there are withdrawals frozen for quite a few punters. They've really shat the bed recently.

If I was something to do with ETH I would've done everything I could to move the market away from there.
11357  Economy / Speculation / Re: What will the next BTC bubble be... (after this pops) on: June 21, 2017, 06:04:29 PM
There've been bubbly moments, but I don't buy this as a bubble. Though valuations are high it's been fairly subdued and it doesn't look like there'll be much of a collapse beyond late $1000s. And these rises have been taking place over weeks, not a few days.

Alts are a different matter entirely. They're in a very empty and heady phase.

There doesn't need to be a reason for a bubble. When the news in the past has been consistently super positive the price carried on grinding down.

11358  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: High school dropout who invested in bitcoin is now a millionaire at 18 on: June 21, 2017, 05:51:14 PM
He didn't really do anything other than sit there and wait for the price to rise. That doesn't make him worth listening to.

But I do agree that most education is horseshit either designed to milk you of your money or turn you into a robot, and usually both. The problem is that the jobs market is framed by it whether you feel that way or not.

If you can self employ then great. If you can't then you have to toe the line. I left education at 16 myself. I would've preferred to have left around 10. Most of my teachers were too stoned to hand over any useful info.
11359  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Putin-Backed Russian Priest Says Beards Protect Men from Being Gay on: June 21, 2017, 05:46:23 PM
If neccesity breeds invention, sweet Jesus, what the fuck type of necessity bred that?

South African necessity bred it. If you're a feminoid over there the chances are extremely high that someone's going to attempt to violate you. I'd certainly do everything within my power to destroy their willies if I were them.
11360  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Putin-Backed Russian Priest Says Beards Protect Men from Being Gay on: June 21, 2017, 11:18:21 AM
Putin is not gay and this is not proof that he treats them. Once in one interview, he said that he has a negative attitude towards homosexuals.

The more vocal you are against something, the more likely you are to be it.

Look at all the photos with his breasts hanging out. If that isn't a clarion call to those sexy bears all around the world then I don't know what is.
