How about f4e3? Pin that pawn. I like that better.

Fuk NXT, Port XMR to POS. That would impress me and the rest of this forum.

othe's guide to investing in Monero:

1) Buy 10k XMR
2) Place two bets for 5k each at monerodice
3) Donate the proceeds from one win to development and "reinvest" the winnings from other bet into dice
4) Repeat steps 2 and 3 until you somehow own more coins than actually exist
5) Huh
6) Profit!

ROFLMFAO!  Good one!
11384  Other / Off-topic / Re: Lets play a game of Chess on: September 24, 2015, 05:12:58 PM
damn.. we have a lot of weakpoints now.
that even a child can exploit.
well i think the "GM" have the advantage in here.
since he can read all of our discusion in this game.
and even 1 person saw the best move but the others,
cant see the objective of it. it will be useless
since this is a majority votes where common moves
are following with common thinkers.
like if ones says i want to move e4. well others will just follow it.
even its not the best move.
i cannot see now the real purpose of this game for the "GM".
well ima out here. Goodluck guys.

I would say that if you have a move that is better than the consensus than you will have to explain why and get people to change their move to support your move. I am flexible and know that I cannot see far enough into this game to beat an expert let alone a GM.

Welcome to the game!
I personally voted for b3 but do see the point of h3. It may end up being the winning move based on recent voting trends

Thx, I think B3 does not apply pressure while H3 does limit his moves. Just my 2 cents, I'm probably wrong. Smiley

And I'd like to reiterate in this thread that letsplayagame should post what move he would have made so we can evaluate what we have done and learn.

...
Just for the sake of accuracy, Dash Masternodes are not a ponzi ...
Correct, Instamine/hardfork coin grab is the term I use.

... There should be something that's soaking up coins. Something besides speculation.

This is still the accumulation and development cycle, down the road (years) there can be no instamine accusations with this distribution model. Anyone can buy in right now and be on a level playing field. I expect another year before XMR is ready for prime time at current rate. And that is with ongoing non stop development that is happening as we speak. There is so much work going on under the hood right now that anyone not accumulating this emission as it's dumped will be crying like everyone that missed BTC.
11386  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: September 24, 2015, 04:54:53 PM
Cheap xmr is my only truly happy circumstance right now.  Thank you for that.

It has been a brutal, humbling month:  Stopped out in eurnok, which in retrospect seems obvious (what was I thinking?) and could barely hang on to my wheat through the dip. Thankfully, spus are still tanking, so at least I broke even on net.  1860 can't happen soon enough for me.

Looking forward,  I am shorting xau\xag above 80, if the opprtunity arises, and gbpjpy is starting to look interesting again. Imagining what will happen if hkd floats, I am considering calendar spreads of increasing ratio... unlike eurchf (my lifetime best call, that), hkd potentially has the backing of prc reserves, so it's really a tail speculation, no more.  It has to pay it's own carry, certainly.

I've been trying not to get lost in online games since their inception but your post is really tempting me. Ever play King of Dragon Pass? It's set in the realm Glorantha (Runequest). I wasted alot of my life in the 80's on that. Smiley
11387  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: September 24, 2015, 04:45:47 PM
I want to brag!

I think I just solved a major bitcointalk mystery:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1148538.msg12509091#msg12509091

There are several monero and boolberry people participating in that thread. I think its really cool

I speculate that people will pay attention to this chess thread. Chess players are smart and will understand the advantages of CryptoNote after they learn about it.

You should post what move you would have made after our move is decided on so we can learn.
11388  Other / Off-topic / Re: Lets play a game of Chess on: September 24, 2015, 04:14:52 PM
H3 would be my move but I suck. Smiley

... No one cares about fungibility. They care whether their money can be spent.

This is what we are trying to explain to you. Fungability assures no coin can be discerned from another and therefore cannot be blocked from being spent. I think maybe you are misinterpreting the meaning of fungability as it relates to currencies?

...
The main point is, can my money be used for services I want/need to use? If BTC-e wants to lose customers, they are free to do so. It'll be a long time before all or even most governments and companies come to an agreement on which coins to black or whitelist.

We agree that that is the main point, what your not seeing is that with a fungable asset no entity can choose to not accept some of an asset without accepting all of it. Maybe I'm not being clear here, I'll let others explain this concept from here on out.

I can't wait for the day people stop accepting fiat like they do with personal checks and only accept crypto. When this day comes then all work can be applied to an algorithm that can be used to fairly reward time and materials across the board. That day will see untold amounts being saved in both energy time and palpable materials.

I am always here.....lurking and checking the thread once a day. I do not know why i bother since i have no investment in Noxt, but curiosity whether this is a scam or not makes me check up on it. The lack of posting updates is always a concern. It isn't healthy when the thread is quiet and devoid of any news.

I do hope Rofo does deliver for those who invested in this.

OK, a little about my opinion on the matter. I've actually stopped caring much about the project and consider my investments a loss. If anything turns out to be delivered (which I still hope, as the idea is still really good), i'll consider it a nice bonus.

To me it seems like Rofo got sick of the people on these boards and is trying to build noxt outside of here. Which is a shame, as I'm still willing to promote if we get any material to work with.

These 2 posts pretty much sum up my thoughts on the issue.

How is blacklisting of coins going to be enforced? It won't be. People can't even agree on the blocksize....

Very simply when BTC becomes mainstream and businesses accept it just like credit cards then the device that accepts the transaction will by law have a lookup to a blacklist.

It's so simple I can't believe I have to explain it. Not only that but there are even simpler ways for any government to enforce blacklisting on businesses. If they wished to do it to fiat they could simply by forcing businesses to use currency scanners.

If you believe this will never happen then that is your gamble, when it does happen and it will as history has shown government overreach is rampant and growing then those that protected themselves from it will be laughing all the way to away FROM the bank. Cheesy

Some serious drama indeed.. Come on people, please take this stuff private. It is not related to the discussion anymore...

At least the thread came alive.......

Thats what I was thinking. Lol
11397  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: September 22, 2015, 07:47:57 PM
I think the most convincing example of fungability necessity for me was when some bitcoin exchange did not accept bitcoins from someone, because allegedly those bitcoins was connected to some dark market activity.

It's not like money should be fungible for criminal operations, but its a good example when some bitcoins != usual bitcoins. This is impossible with monero.

But those coins can go to mixer and come out a different ones.

Kind of off topic but this thread has been slow so I'll jump in as well.

When the government decides to make it mandatory for business to not accept tainted coins, which it will inevitably will, those that have gotten them even by legal means will lose them. This is the most important aspect of fungability. Using a mixer with good coins right now is as retarded as it gets. If the canary in the coal mine (exchange not accepting tainted coins) was not enough to convince then those that lose deserve to.

The only reason this has not made a bigger splash is because those invested in BTC refuse to propagate the fact their coin is compromised. The writing is on the wall.

Any tips on CLT? Worth buing below ICO levels?

i will post this one today.

wait for it Smiley

unless i get a tip - then i will post before usual time.

currently around 8h for my new tip.

So since you only post not to buy so as not to be dumped on maybe you haven't finished selling CLT?

Should we call you MrDump?

Anyone that thinks listening to this guy isn't going to get them Dumped on is a moron that deserves to get butthurt.

swap the order?

Code:

iptables -A INPUT -p tcp --dport 18082 -j DROP
iptables -A INPUT -p tcp --dport 18082 -s 127.0.0.1 -j ACCEPT

I could be wrong, but I think iptables processes the rules in order.  So the DROP will match first and not progress to the ACCEPT.

I don't know, haven't needed to for over a decade and can barely remember how to get to a command line now. I've just gotten real lazy in my old age, maybe I should get a mac! <shudder> Smiley
