11381  Economy / Lending / Re: Need .11 BTC for 2 days max on: April 09, 2015, 03:53:06 AM
I am not sure why you are asking for a loan when you have negative trust. It is obviously a bad idea to lend you BTC without collateral as your reputation is worth zero
11382  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] Lealana Brass LTC and BTC coins on: April 09, 2015, 01:25:34 AM

None of the coins have a hand carved laser engraved "buyer funded" hologram.

The red portion gave me a chuckle lol
lol thanks. If I believed it anytime someone told me they were going to hand carve something then I would have left a few of these unfunded.
11383  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Fradulent email claiming to be from Coinbase on: April 08, 2015, 08:48:15 PM
According to this reddit, it doesn't appear to be from a leaked coinbase email DB, because one person is claiming to have received it to an email not associated with their coinbase account, but one that is associated with their LBC and purse.io accounts.
11384  Economy / Lending / Re: ★[No Collateral]★[No Interest]★ Offering Micro-Loans To Everyone! on: April 08, 2015, 08:38:46 PM
how do you search trust profiles like that? Google doesn't pick them up and I dont think the forum search does either.

sorry man i dont understand I was just trying to post the signature i made. I must of done something wrong. Please dont judge me by my lack of knowledge with sigs.

All i do is right click my address then enter the above form I have filled out for the OP that includes my loan request data and then click sign message correct?

Then i see the signature appear after clicking sign.

Let me know what i did wrong?
you had posted the trust page of someone who got a neutral from me for a PM loan request. The address that person asked me to send to is the same address you are asking the loan to go to.

11386  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTS] Egift Starbucks 25% on: April 08, 2015, 07:58:00 PM
Why are so many people selling Starbucks gift cards purchased with stolen credit cards recently? 🐶

It seems like someone new starts selling everyday.

Anyway anyone buying from this person is likely to have their cards go bad very quickly.
11387  Economy / Auctions / Re: I auction an account from a scammer on: April 08, 2015, 07:46:18 PM
I think it would probably be wise to wait until he at least officially scams you to sell the account. If you don't wait then you will not only take the loss on the sale of the account but if he pays you back then you would need to figure out a way to get him his collateral back.
11388  Economy / Auctions / Re: I auction an account from a scammer on: April 08, 2015, 07:32:17 PM
Did he even technically default yet? I thought the loan was due 48 hours from when you gave the loan and you only opened the thread asking for help recovering the account barely 24 hours ago.

11390  Other / Archival / Re: Updated Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns on: April 08, 2015, 04:55:15 PM
You have fortunejack listed as PNYC (payment not yet confirmed) however I understand that they had a long standing signature deal not long ago that paid out on time for several months. Is there a reason why it is not listed as "A" (active)?

FortuneJack previous campaign has ended, what you saw on the OP is a new campaign with 0.04 weekly and a bonus of 0.04 for bonus if you join up for 4 weeks period, and this campaign hasnt really payout yet so it is right to list them as PYNC although today is their payday, if they pay then they will be moved to active

Starting 'new' campaign doesn't mean you're not trustworthy anymore. If FJ have a long history of running the campaign without any payment issues, then it should be marked as 'active'.

They could have just used phrase 'new rules' instead of 'new campaign' and they would've be shown as 'active'.
did they ever actually ever close their campaign? Looking through the change log the last mention of them is from January when they were "updated". I am fairly certain that they just created a new thread (with different rules?). I understand that if a campaign were to have closed, then the company potentially chsnged ownership it is possible that the new owners could run away with free advertising but I don't think that would really apply if only a new thread was made.

By the new thread logic, bitstars should always be in PNYC.

Good to pay him? LOL.
 =snip=

I said what I would have done.

One of the meaning of good: "Expressing approval".

He pulled an exit scam. There is a claim that he scammed $500 from one of his customers. The loan was most likely him trying to get an incremental amount from a victim, the additional.02 btc is just trying to get more. I would personally give the account back as it is probably not going to be worth the .04 that you will have paid for it.

I would take this as a learning opportunity for how to properly protect yourself.

Isn't it better to sell it? Although you won't get 0.02BTC by selling it, you can atleast get a small amount.

Also, as this is now a collateral, will it be marked with negative trust?
the account is a member (almost full member) account and member accounts barely fetch more then .04 with neutral trust and there is barely a market for negative trust accounts and they are very hard to move. He would need to put a lot of effort into the account to get anything out of it at all.

There is no way to protect yourself against people like that. Scam was already done by the time he got the account. Even if he secured it, it would be worthless due to the negative feedback. Unless accounts with negative feedback can be used for sig campaigns?

Negative feedback should not be removed since it was linked to a scam exchange.
Well you shouldn't accept accounts that are engaged in those kinds of business as even if he didn't scam, there is a chance the account would get negative feedback if they run into problems or start to have very poor communication.

This thread was opened roughly 12 hours prior to the thread saying they scammed, and the scam accusacation said they scammed the same day, so it is probable that he scammed after it was public that he stole the account back.

There are a small number of accounts that can be used in signature campaigns however generally only the very low paying ones accept negative trust and even then the campaign pays a reduced rate for negative trust. IMO it is really not worth it because you would be earning so little and probably not more then the value of your time.

11395  Economy / Services / Re: Up to 0.035 BTC weekly for YOUR SIGNATURE *New rules on: April 08, 2015, 01:26:27 PM
Are they considering a upgrade of the prices or definitely not? BTC prices keep going down/stays this low and meanwhile other campaigns like Bit-x are automatizing their process and pay better..

Surely another reason to leave for another campaign then? I think if enough people left en masse then they might consider upping the rates but I can't see any change coming anytime soon.

Indeed, in these contexts I think the only reasonable thing to do is to vote by joining another program.  I loved the old bitmixer program where you got paid very little but didn't have to post.  Since they went to a pay-to-post scheme I think there are obviously better options.

I would love to have real passive income with Bitcoin. Is there any option where you don't need to post? I cant be bothered with constant posting.
bitmixer used to have no posting requirements however they only paid at most .01 per week and you had to be a hero to get that, seniors only got .0052 with 252 activity.
11396  Other / Meta / Re: 'Recruiting' Participants? on: April 08, 2015, 12:11:35 PM
I would say as it was you then you probably should not think about such tactics, maybe recruit someone who does not mind taking the risk of sending the few messages for you. I find it hard to believe you would even want to think about risking it with 2 pm spams in the past lol 3rd time you will get 30-60days or even perm ban, i would go with the latter. Also if i received the unsolicited pm from marcotheminer i would report you because i don't think it should be aloud it isn't asif i could not find your service bumped every 5mins on service thread or signatures plastered on every thread. Advice think no more and be happy with the current size campaign maybe even use the energy searching your members recent posters for spam Wink

This is probably about Carra23. And if this is allowed, Marco may want to try it too.

I'm bumping this again.

Quote from: marcotheminer
Did carra23 contact you to join a campaign?

Quote from: bigtimespaghetti (green trusted user)
Hi marco, yes carra23 got in touch to join.

What I want to know is: may a campaign manager 'recruit' participants? If allowed, I'm sure many would (I would with a few users).

EDIT: I'll make a meta thread.
I have received reports that marco was sending PMs as described in the OP to a few people in the default trust network. While it is possible that he is referring to carra23, it is also probable that he is trying to cover his ass ahead of time as he was recently banned for sending unsolicited PMs.

I think it is highly ironic that the OP has backed out of his own auction after posting the above negative trust back in 2013

I am no attorney, however I don't think a legal notice can say "I" without first identifying who "I" is, and your supposed "notice" did not do this lol.

Now it appears that smoothie had made an offer to buy one of your coins for .13 BTC. I think it is pretty clear that you accepted his offer when you said you would sell to both smoothie and the person who bid immediately prior to him. I don't see anything about having the option to back out of the deal anywhere in the thread, including up to now, so by default  there was the intention to create legal consequences. There was consideration a smoothie offered to buy your coin in consideration for .13 btc.

Can mr non-practicing attorney tell me what that means?
        11400  Economy / Auctions / Re: Casascius 1btc 2011 *REDEEMED* auction only 3 left 1 day auction .2 BIN on: April 07, 2015, 10:30:53 PM
Auctions are taken pretty seriously around here. If you do not honor you bid or do not follow through with the terms of your auction then you are breaking an agreement (aka scamming). I did see where the OP specifically said that he would sell to both smoothie and to monkeynuts, although smoothie won the auction as per the terms of the OP.

Just because the auction does not finish as high as you want it to be does not mean that you have any right to not sell to the winner at that price.

Yes as being one of the most active auction users on this forum I would say that going back on your terms and selling to someone else whether or not it has to do with price is essentially scamming.

Buyer beware and anyone looking to do business with bitcoin_bob should do so with extreme caution.
There is a reason why auction posts are not able to be edited/deleted. The majority of the time it is because the buyer backs out, but the seller backing out is just as bad. When you bid on something you need to put money aside to pay for it, and may end up having to pass up on another deal because you need to be sure you have enough money to pay for your bid.
