This voting has no effect. Cryptsy needs something else to make it happen.

if block is 34106 and not updating, should I wait... nothing in console window that indicate errors, though?

Wait a while, sometimes it takes couple of minutes to catch up. If it doesn't in more than an hour - then you have to do some other things.

Generely speaking it catches up by itself.

Should I post the transaction # here?

Which client are you using? 0.5.0?

It is 0.4.7e

Download the 0.5.0 from the first page of this thread (you might also check the SHA), unzip it into a new folder, make a start.bat and run it. Then let it refresh the chain.

Up to how many decimals is NXT divisible?
1146  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: January 06, 2014, 10:53:17 AM
Btw all the cannibals here - those of you with large holdings who are selling high to then buy even more cheaper - you're going to profit shortterm, but you're also going to ruin NXT.
1147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: January 06, 2014, 10:18:41 AM
Well, there are other priorities in coding, I am sure. It's just if it's not too much work to add this API, users have to have fun with something for the next 4 weeks, ya know Smiley

If we release new features too fast:
1. Client developers won't be able to go on par with the core features
2. NXT price won't become affordable for ordinary people

These 2 points r vital for success of Nxt.

Yeah sure but what about the competition. Is it totally irrelevant?
1148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: January 05, 2014, 09:51:23 PM
We need real-life usability now, not just promised features.

Mouths will drool when we get to that stage, the nerd drooling over features phase is at the endroad.

Come on people stop with the fighting.

You can't deny that Dgex was cruicial at a point in time. He made a big contribution. On the other hand he also made some detrimental moves, bla bla we've been over this.

I don't like the tone of the discussion for the last couple of days - infighting will bring divide and who knows where this will lead but have in mind the future good of all.

Well I think Graviton/DGEX didn't do everything bad, he worked hard and helped the community but with the fees he will shoot himself in the foot.

Come on 10 pages of votes on Cryptsy and still nothing. Obviously he has something against it?

Guys, when are we gonna start trading aliases?
1153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: January 04, 2014, 09:42:26 PM
So far I had no interest in forging because I was busy in doing other things. But, if I want to forge, do I need to keep the client open? If I had several accounts, do I keep them open at the same time?
1154  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: POST HERE if you came for the COINYE WEST Crypto! on: January 04, 2014, 08:03:51 PM
Dogecoin was great for those who were there at the very start, when it was easy to mine millions.

But Coinye? Maybe, but I also fear that it will be too big of a mining rush.
1155  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: January 04, 2014, 05:13:11 PM
Huge delay on dgex withdrawal, now well in excess of 24 hr, and transaction stuck at 3 confirmations.  Dgex now quoting 1 week lead on support requests.  Great work dgex, well worth the transaction fee.  Really enjoying the speed advantage nxt has over bitcoin  Roll Eyes

Blame the Dgex.

And the speed of whitdrawal is amazing for that fee. "Premium waiting line for a premium fee" is the slogan I believe.

I have been looking at the source and ignoring the formatting style (everyone hates any formatting that is not their own) the code is quite clever.

In several places I thought I found an off by one error, or control flow problem, but so far the code is written to run efficiently and cleverly. Not much waste within the context of JAVA that will run on everything, which is quite a big requirement for something like NXT.

People complain about one it just being one file, but I myself do that until it gets to 10000 lines or so. It helps the compiler generate more optimized code, at least for C, if it is all in one file as linking is only to libraries. It is also much easier to make a release, just one file instead of many.

I am not familiar with all the JAVA built in classes, but there appears to be very little code for what NXT does and usage of the built in classes is part of the reason. I can see why jean-luc wanted to refactor the code. My impression is that this was written by a single person, not a team, but I have no basis for that other than a gut feel.

James

P.S. For those of you worried that the trolls will announce some sort of "source code is rotten" tirade with any merit, you can rest easy. Source code appears to be the work of a super-genius with a strange formatting style (indentation, spacing, eg. doesn't affect any actual code)

Thanks. It's always interesting to read your long explanations (no sarcasm)
1157  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: January 03, 2014, 04:30:10 PM
That is not right, you can't change fees when you own nearly 90M NxT + X BTC of your customers without giving a timeframe to withdrawal with the old rules.
Would you kindly suggest how to deal with the missing 800k NXT please? Consider the rate of NXT shoots up significantly, not that I would have 70 BTC extra in my pockets to cover it right now.

DGEX offered people free trading of NXT for 5 weeks.

This reminds me of the banks. First they do bad business and then they expect their customers to bail them out.

I won't use Ripple no matter how appealing it may seem. Sorry but the foundation is rotten.

Wait until people start connecting the dots when the fog of all this exchange drama clears and come to realize how incremental the NXT Asset Exchange is for crypto!  Solid rocket booster ignition and liftoff!!!   Grin

Unless someone else takes the lead in this area.
