Very nice, it looks like they did a spectacular job with the plating this time around.   Smiley

Unfortunately, I don't share your enthusiasm.  I think the plating on the front looks messy in many places.  The back looks neat.

How do you feel about the plating Og?

I noticed the messy plating on some spots too but I think it fits with the Nasty-style.
1142  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Aluminum Casascius Coins at the Bitcoin Foundation Conference on: January 15, 2016, 03:30:36 PM
I have one aluminum blank with the indentation on the back, and one without. Wonder how many of each there are?

I opened the beginning of one roll, they all have an indentation. Three coins have an imperfection that looks like a "1" but I guess it has something to do with the anodizing process and is not intended.

1143  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bad Day for Bitcoin. Cryptsy finally admitted theft and Mike Hearn tells truth on: January 15, 2016, 01:23:41 PM
For everyone who holds bitcoin well done I take my hat off to you. But I am afraid the same will happen as when all the other major exchanges were hacked. Its not exactly in the news yet. Probably the big boys are getting rid of their stash until they start with the big announcement. Cryptsy was one of the main exchanges whether you like it or not and they do not even know how they were hacked. Its scary for everyone. I will come back on this thread to tomorrow and I can bet you any money it has gone down at least by 20%.. Hopefully it will recover as people say but it wont be unaffected by such a big exchange going down. Sorry ANOTHER big exchange going down.

Anyway its all speculation but when this has happened time and time again that's just the way it goes.

I never trusted Cryptsy 100% and always looked at it as a hobby-exchange run by people who aren't experts. I traded some coins there in the past but always withdrawed my coins same hour/day. Most exchanges are always a risk, I believe BTC-E will go down in the future and some smaller exchanges too. The only one I trust is Kraken.com . Anyway, 1 golden rule (for me) never leave (many) coins at an exchange wallet, and don't trade with "money" you can't afford to loose.

very good point.

now, the BTC price is going down fast. if "you" won't sell, you will regret. Smiley

I won't regret I will not sell my BTC now Grin

Here is the story of Mike Hearn
https://medium.com/@octskyward/the-resolution-of-the-bitcoin-experiment-dabb30201f7#.8cl1xjgdk

should I be worried? I guess so...

should I sell my bitcoins now? Dunno, I wait for now to cool of the "hot" news and see what happens the next 2 weeks.

what about my physical coins? Well, I paid 80% of my physical coin with mined bitcoins, so no loss there and the coins will probably have a collectors value. For the other 20% I maybe have take a loss of the BTC value...

I will be more careful now buying or spending BTC but I still have faith bitcoin will be success or else another cryptocoin will take over (Ethereum, Emercoin, Ripple... we will see)

These coins are still available at casascius website. I ordered some for my project and d*mn they are (still) very nice coins.

[PIC]

Can you tell if they shipped the aluminium Casascius coins with the stickers holograms? Or do you know somewhere to buy the stickers for this coins?

Coins only are shipped.

Sticker holograms you can find on ebay, just do a simple search: http://www.ebay.com/bhp/hologram-sticker

Wow, it's great that these are still available! I had just assumed... not. Thanks for the post.

The (standard) alumuniums are sold out Mike told me. Only anodize versions are left, don't know how much and what color...

I am open to suggestions on a beginning vanity address for the gold highlighted coins.  Maybe a single letter so I have enough outcomes to be sequential like 1nastyG_ (G for gold)?

I like the G for gold in 1nastyG.

1153  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [7 PH] Kano CKPool (kano.is) from the cgminer devs [0.9% PPLNS] on: January 01, 2016, 06:26:33 PM
Here you see my payouts of some last found blocks on kano.is . I am mining more than a year now on kano.is with 1.5 to 1.67 TH/s for the last 9 months (before that is varied from 1.5 to 5TH/s). Kano is the most stable and best performing pool there is, at least that is my experience.

The coins have been re-stamped and I'm told they came out beautiful.  Once the select gold plating was added, I thought it was a bit ugly for lack of a better word.  After seeing a few different gold plating options, I made the decision to change the gold plating to what is pictured below.  This piece was done quickly as an example so don't be too harsh as the finals will come out better.  I believe this is the best option for having the design maintain it's visibility.  I am predicting that these coins will be in buyers' hands by the end of January.

I like the gold plating this way and can't wait to get one in hand  Grin
