1141  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ATM on: May 10, 2017, 06:35:11 AM
The price of bitcoin via an ATM will always be higher than the market price, I experienced this on my first go and it worked out at a 6% difference, the price you pay convenience I guess.
1142  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: can someone explain what is going with AITCOIN right now? on: May 09, 2017, 03:44:25 PM
When bitcoin increases like it is doing now many people tend to cash out their alts causing a lot of the alts to decrease.  We should at some point see this in reverse, it's entirely up to you and how brave you are, if you have alts like you said LTC and ETH these have more chance of being around long term the your average alt.

If you can suffer the loss and you sell now and your alts do increase after you have sold this can be quite frustrating believe me.
1143  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: New to Altcoins (which to buy or am I too late) on: May 09, 2017, 07:17:11 AM
It is never too late in the altcoin world, a couple that might be worth a look.  WBB and COVAL long term these should be pretty decent.
1144  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if, we advertise bitcoin on T.V.? on: May 05, 2017, 09:19:18 AM
I think one of the bitcoin companies or exchanges such as Coinbase would be better placed to run advertisements rather than a general bitcoin advert, it would be difficult for the community to organise something like this.
1145  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you get the news about BTC/altcoins? on: May 04, 2017, 07:03:13 PM
I tend to be here and looking in the altcoin announcemt threads, also twitter and a couple of news sites cointelegraph and altcointoday isn't too bad.
1146  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will bitcoin crash ever again? on: May 04, 2017, 04:44:34 PM
For sure it will, how bad the crash will be is the question.  I really doubt it will be going down as far as $200 unless something really goes wrong, I think we will see below $1,000 though pretty soon.
1147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: bittrex login??? on: May 01, 2017, 11:27:05 AM
Just seen on twitter they are getting ddos'd and are dealing with it.
1148  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is happening currently with cryptocurrencies on: May 01, 2017, 10:17:55 AM
It is quite an interesting time, we see a lot of coins steadily moving upwards and not all of them useless projects.  ETH is doing well but how far will it go, NEM I see as a real rival to ETH and a couple of other coins I think could soon show their hand, one of which is WBB which could be the rose that grew from concrete.

It is all a gamble with alts, just be in the right place at the right time.
1149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why does the mainstream media ignore altcoins? on: April 30, 2017, 11:58:44 PM
The only altcoins I have seen in the mainstream on more than one occasion are LTC, ETH and XRP.

It doesn't surprise me really as it has taken this long for bitcoin to get half decent press, I think we will hear more about other coins in the next year because a market like this cannot be ignored for too long.
1150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why does every new tech require an ICO? Is it just the funding? on: April 30, 2017, 11:40:48 PM
Exactly, one of the main reasons is to make a quick buck.  That may sound sceptical but being around here for a while I have seen this change from honest devs some which would give out coins for free, they would work on their project freely and without the urgency to put a roadmap in place etc.to now almost every project requires an ICO.

If a project is worth something then the dev/s would be investing themselves into it, there are some legitimate ones but nine times out of ten ICO coins are are created for the dev to pocket.
1151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coin life and investment safety on: April 30, 2017, 09:50:57 AM
There are no guarantees of safety or investment, everything is a risk when you are looking at altcoins and even bitcoin.  There are coins that have been around for a few years that are constantly being worked on and improved, whether or not these will reap profit in the long term is a guess.

We have also seen the likes of ETH and NEM come along with new code with the possibility of rivalling bitcoin, you just have to keep an eye on whichever coin you pick up.
1152  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which altcoin is the most undervalued right now? on: April 29, 2017, 10:15:49 PM
Right now at this time and this is just my opinion and not advice on where to invest.  WBB is in the midst of releasing their new name and roadmap, the last few days it has been creeping up slowly, there is a lot of room for growth in this coin.  Their slack is the place to pick up news at the moment.

Another one is NEM which has been on a steady rise and a lot of development taking place, it has seen a massive rise in price over the last month, it will be interesting to see where the ceiling is but I suspect it has a long way to go.

These are the two that come to mind right now.
1153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How much will LTC correct? on: April 28, 2017, 04:46:24 PM
I would expect it to go at least 100% in a 24 period as we get closer to activation, then back down -100% pretty soon after activation.
1154  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitz coin on: April 28, 2017, 04:37:56 PM
You'll have more luck if you post this in their ANN thread.
1155  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's wrong with all the green rise of altcoin today? on: April 28, 2017, 06:46:57 AM
I think that now we have a few top altcoins that can stand on their own two feet and people are looking for the next new thing and taking certain alts seriously now.
1156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is the block chain not as great as claimed? on: April 27, 2017, 01:19:06 PM
Once heretically questioned, why haven't big companies like Google, Amazon or Apple developed any projects with the blockchain, if this the technology is so great?

So far, there are no signs that these companies have ever dealt with the blockchain.
Still early days, they will be looking at it behind the scenes and figuring out how to best use the technology.  A quick google on Google shows that they are working on their own version https://qz.com/929833/googles-goog-deepmind-is-using-blockchain-technology-to-handle-nhs-medical-data/
1157  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lost over 12 btcs gambling on dice on: April 27, 2017, 07:43:05 AM
Bad luck but losing all of that which you said was 100% of your coins is crazy, I do stop when I am on a losing streak although I have in the past felt terrible when losing a lot of btc.
1158  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would happen to your BTC and alts if you died ? on: April 26, 2017, 04:42:24 PM
Not really given that too much thought, my wife just rolls her eyes when I talk about coins so I guess I would have to wait until my kid grows up and make sure he knows all about it.

I hope by that time crypto will be common place and the need for me to educate won't exist.
1159  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SegWit and Altcoin on: April 26, 2017, 10:18:28 AM
Now that Ltc is on his way to successfully  implement segwit.
Im asking my self is there are other coins that are planning to do the same, for now i Just know VIA.
any hints?
I foresee a lot of altcoins implementing this now and the majority of them will do it purely for the hype and short term price increase, especially newly created coins that will feature this is as one of the main selling points, similar to what we had last year with anonymous coins.
1160  Economy / Economics / Re: bitcoin benefit of saving for a long time? on: April 26, 2017, 08:38:11 AM
I am thinking about putting a little bit away each month as savings for my son until he hits 18, I am looking at this as a much better way of saving for a child then a junior ISA and the other regular child savings accounts.

One of the benefits I hope will be that in 18 years time his savings will have increased quite a bit giving back a huge % increase than you would get in any other savings account.
