Anyone invested into BC is not thinking clearly or likes the risk of jumping on the pump n dump train.
Have you not thought further ahead to say why should I even hold this coin - what can you do with it? You cannot purchase things, there's no services, no outlook for the coin besides "lets raise the value artificially by taking value from other shitcoins"
Good luck to you all

Anyone have the skills/time to get this up and running. We could spread darkness over all the shitcoins out there...
We need to get the ball rolling - either it be a foundation, donations for marketing etc.
Let me know when its up and I will donate 250 dark to get things going.

We are now approaching the 10GH/s network mark. Seems as though a lot of people are finally realising the potential of this coin

HAHAHHA why did they add those shit coins - their loss I guess.....clearly BTC38 has no idea how to research

We should start a thread "Post your DarkCoin mining rig photo"
DarkCoin - uses x11 hashing algo....ASIC resistant and uses like 40% less power and heat to mine...win win
Has it already been mentioned somewhere in this thread about how much less power it takes to mine Dark? I know the thread title says it runs cooler which is great and all, but I think a pretty cool selling point is how much less electricity you use to mine it. My experience:
3x 280x rig mining Scrypt - 900W as measured with kill a watt meter Same rig mining Dark - 490W
If you pay high electric rates that's a huge savings!
Aside from potential and how awesome this coin is, for me this is by far the best coin to mine because power is expensive where I live... Mining with 4x280x GPUs undervolted. Scyrpt: 970W Dark X11: 520W That's almost half the cost in power!!! Let alone the GPUs stay around 30 degree's cooler and less noise from fans!

Note that both of these have large effects on the price of any coin that goes on them because they enable direct CNY trading (CNY = Chinese Yuan). If you look at the transaction volume of DOGE and VTC, about 20% if it comes from DOGE/CNY and VTC/CNY trades rather than BTC pairs. We *need* a Chinese webpage explaining what DRK does and a Chinese wallet translation to help these new DRK users. Any speakers out there? Also, VOTE. Agreed, we could put together a bounty for a Chinese Darkcoin website? Genius thought, honestly. Voted - everyone else needs to vote if you haven't....The Chinese would love the anonymity as they need it more than most. +1 for wallet translation ASAP as well.

You know, I see this market adoption sentiment everyday and I have to ask, if people don't know about the product, how can they adopt it? Believe it or not, marketing can make or break a coin. A quick stroll down the alt coin list shows as much. I'm not even talking about the pump and dumps. See Quark, Max, vert and the like.
I won't lie, seeing those coins gain exposure while dark remains dormant is disheartening. Hell a quick google search turns up very little on dark. That list of coin exposure should tell us something. No one is going to market dark for us. If we say we are going to hold for long term, you should understand that this is a different calibre of markets. New coins saturate the markets everyday. Lets not bury our heads in the sand here. See earthcoin for a great example of a coin that depended too much on the whole "long term" plan. That coin has lost 800% value in under 2 months and is sinking lower as other alt coins rise.
Just my two cents... And to answer the unasked question, yes I try to promote dark coin on Reddit.
I think people know about Dark and what it promises. I don't know what magical "marketing" you are talking about. What coins out there AREN'T simply trading vehicles for 99% of the people who own them? I could argue that BTC & DOGE are it when it really comes to market acceptance. To me, LTC is just a trading vehicle as well, the community sucks IMO. Sure there are a lot of contenders, but I think we're lying to ourselves to think many of these coins will survive in the long run, maybe surviving with their die-hard fans/communities. Most won't and can't. I'll reinforce my point, this coin skyrockets if it's promises are delivered. If anonymous transactions are proven and secure, this coin has a place in the crypto world for this reason and this reason (primarily) alone. You can get hung up on the "marketing" stuff and worrying about whether the name has an evil connotation to it. Worry about whether it will only be a "drug" coin. In all honesty, if successful, it will be a drug coin (any coin really is, even if i convert it to fiat to buy weed). Would BTC be BTC without Silk Road? I dunno. Is BTC constantly stigmatized by this? No, absolutely not. Why? Currency is/should be transaction neutral. Remember, for every evil connotation to a crypto you can come up with an equally GOOD reason to use it. well said - and on that note DarkSend is working and the dev has delivered on his promises!!!....so next step is some smart marketing and this coin will concrete itself and the rest is history

its about to blow captain!

haha those candles are epic!

haha great work, keep the pumps happening. Will gain attention from others and make more people jump on the train!

now or never ... right? we are close to Peak-Block-Reward.... It looks like it's going to be "never". People here are too concerned about getting all the easy coins to realize that nobody wants to buy coins on a cryptocurrency once it's effectively mined out. I tried to create a marketing fund to pay the cryptsy bribe only to get the MRC community jumping down my throat and calling me a scammer. Looks like time to dump at 2 sat before it falls any lower. It's a real shame, a coin with a lot of potential and complete mismanagement. Patience - just because things are quiet for a bit doesn't mean its dying. There is a lot happening in the background. Don't get the same mentality as everyone else trying to make a quick buck and jump on the Maz/Aur trains which are stupidly high risk. Cryptsy isn't necessarily a good thing either - a lot of coins get put up and then pump/dump then get left for dead.

who the fuck is the asshole on cryptsy with the 100+ btc sell order? that order literally just tanked the price back to .14 and is stopping it from going above .15.
cant you break up your order into smaller orders? I don't understand people.
its been removed

I dont think Darkcoin has potentional, if you really need you can be 100% anonymous with Bitcoin, but it takes effort and knowledge how to do it
That's where you are wrong, having anonymity in the mainstream takes away that effort and complexity and risk of tumbling where you trust that the other party will give you coins back and keep your details secure. Most people have been asking for anonymity in the block chain more than any other feature.

Also forgot to add - MCR can you add this to the front page, in a news/press section
