1141  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Your bitcoins are only as safe as your password on: March 12, 2017, 11:35:15 AM
I think I found two great videos on youtube on the dos and don'ts of password creation.  A real must watch. I encourage everyone to watch these and then consider if your passwords are really safe.

  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7U-RbOKanYs  Also  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3NjQ9b3pgIg

If you don't trust my link the video is called: "Password Cracking - Computerphile" also "Password Choice - Computerphile "

If you know of a better video on password creation plz post it.

Edit: would also like to recommend everyone watch "How NOT to Store Passwords! - Computerphile" and "Security of Data on Disk - Computerphile"

No one gonna share their password to anyone. If you do a mistake like keeping hard password and logging in to the site same like blockchain other wallet site means also your funds will be taken out by hackers. Please make proper log in attempt and keep safe private key and don't share your DAT file of tour wallet this enough to be safe.

Also using 2FA in your online wallet whatever it is where you are storing your bitcoin is also a good idea beside on using private key, and when it comes to professional hackers, there is no such thing as SAFE PASSWORD, I remember the hacking that happened in the blockchain way back 2015, where hundred of millions dollars worth of bitcoin was stolen, correct me if I am wrong.

So, there is no safe password to be honest, all we have to do is to secure our accounts and check it daily to be sure that no one is using it or already know our password.
1142  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why would there be just one cryptocurrency? on: March 12, 2017, 10:42:33 AM
Correct me if I'm wrong, and move me if this is the wrong board, but in my opinion we should not focus on how to make Bitcoin do everything. Right now Bitcoin works well as a store of value, digital gold if you will. A $1 transaction fee means nothing to a $1,000,000 transaction. It does however severely cripple smaller payments, something that a cryptocurrency could be very good at.

Now it is my understanding that the point of SegWit/BU is to allow Bitcoin to be used for smaller payments by bringing that transaction fee down. Instead of making Bitcoin the jack of all trades, why not have multiple cryptocurrencies that each excel in their own areas? Leave Bitcoin exactly as is, and invest money and time into establishing a micropayment currency, a smart contract currency, etc...

Just some food for though.
Johnny

tl;dr
Why try and make Bitcoin do everything instead of having an ecosystem of specialized currencies?

It is not that we are focusing on bitcoin and not interested on the other Altcoins, it is just that bitcoin is the only coin that is worth of our time to spend with because of its value, but we are also trading other Altcoins which have good value in the market, so that, we could have huge profit from it, because it is hard to buy Altcoins which price is so low, because there is no one using it anymore.

But since Trading is a long term business, and you have to wait for the right time to buy and sell your coins, that is why, for the meantime, we are focusing on earning bitcoin other than earning money by trading Altcoins.
1143  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will happen to bitcoins in an online wallet with lost password? on: March 11, 2017, 02:59:03 PM
Suppose a person have some bitcoins in his online wallet and he forget the password (or lose access to that online wallet in any way) then what will happen to that bitcoins? Will that be there forever or as the wallet providers have access to them and they will get them if they find no any owner for years.

It is easy to recover your online wallet password by your email that you have used on making that online wallet of yours, that is why it is important on remembering every details when you made an online wallet. You could just simply save all the important details in your PC or in your cellphone, as long as you know that it is safe.

Also, if you forgot the email that you have used, you can try to contact their Support team on that certain wallet, for you to ask help on retrieving your lost password.
1144  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PLEASE HELP.. I sent a transaction with a 2.5 BTC transaction fee on: March 11, 2017, 05:55:31 AM
I believe that Bitcoin miners have a moral obligation to return blatantly abnormal fees once apprised of the situation

A moral obligation to fix someone else's mistake. Hellz no.

Granted, it would be a nice gesture to return what in this case seems an obvious error. If I were the miner, I would like to think that I would return the overage. But 'moral obligation'? That's crazy ass special snowflake shit.

Life is dangerous. Live accordingly. Don't expect others to clean up your messes for you.

There's nothing crazy about moral obligation.  Life is not dangerous or there wouldn't be 7 billion humans on the planet - you're simply creating a false narrative. There's nothing dangerous about this particular predicament nor should it be considered a mess, an honest mistake has been made that merely requires honest action on the part of the miner (in this case Antminer) to remedy.  Hellz yeah!

We are all making mistakes, because we are not perfect and no one is perfect. And asking something back is not that easy, becuase people do like money, and 2.5 btc is a big deal. So, you are lucky if they are going to give it back to you, unlucky you if they don't. We, all the people in this world are the ones who are dangerous, and not this moral obligations.

We are all animals, animals in our own way, animals that lives in ourselves is the one who made us dangerous and making choices good or bad is up to us, and making big mistakes are the one taught us to be more careful next time, especially sending bitcoins.
1145  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think the transaction fee will kill bitcoin? on: March 11, 2017, 05:29:16 AM
Right now on my wallet, I want to transfer money from my Android wallet to my cold storage wallet. The fee is so high, that it's not worth to initiate the transfer, everyone says bitcoin has the lower fee to transfer value over service like the Western Union.

I am very disappointed with the fee, what is your view about the transaction fee? Do you think that that will be the beginning of the end for bitcoin?

High transaction fees can not kill bitcoin just like that, what it might kill is those bitcoin users who are just earning bitcoin on different faucets where the earnings are very low, and the transaction fees is their enemy when it comes to transferring their bitcoins on their wallet.

That is why many bitcoin users are complaining about the transaction fees, especially the Faucet earners. But, I guess it is their problem, and transaction fees don't need to adjust for them, they are the one who should adjust, for them not to complain about this. Instead of doing Faucets, do something where you could earn enough to pay the transaction fees and still you have enough remaining bitcoins for yourself.
1146  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ETF Rejected on: March 11, 2017, 05:05:57 AM
We are not expecting ETF to be rejected, it seems that the  Government still can't see the advantage of bitcoin compare to fiat, but it doesn't mean that we need to panic about this and sell our bitcoin. Bitcoins price may fluctuate in low price but it is just for a while, and it will go up again in time, all we have to do is to wait.

Though, there will be a lot of bitcoin users that will sell or convert all of their bitcoins becuase of this event, and not a good decision to make, becuase we could lose huge profit from it if we are going to sell or convert our bitcoin in just one shot.
1147  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you know if a gambling site is scam or not? on: March 10, 2017, 06:02:00 AM
Asking is the best way to know if a certain gambling site is a scam or not, and you could say that it is just a scam because of its interface and there's a lot of things missing in their site. Also, you could tell by just looking at their history, and no one is playing on their site, stuffs like that.
But you could barely see a gambling site which is a scam or turned out to be scam because of insufficient funds or they have lost all of their Capital and Profit.
1148  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to start a bitcoin casino on: March 10, 2017, 05:08:53 AM
I am keen to help BitCoin enthusiast start their online casinos. Over the past number of years, my team and I, have been working on a solution that creates a platform as a service to offer licensed casinos to end users. The objective being to make it affordable by aggregating costs.

We are in the throws of launching our product with the first few casinos being launched as I write this.

Essentially we work with two groups of people:

1. Game Developers
2. Casino Operators

As a game developer, we integrate your games into our platform and pay you a commission on GGR (gross gaming revenue). These games we offer to our operators through an API.

As a casino operator, you get to create your very own casino brand and offer this onto your audience piggybacking off our gambling licensing and payment solutions. You earn a commission on NGR (net gaming revenue). This commission is proportional to your ability to contribute to costs.

So some questions:

I note that BitCoin casino's use BTC as their default currency. What we offer is a default currency in EUR. So when you deposit with BTC, this is converted at the days' rate into EUR which you then use to play the various games with. Once complete, you simply convert back to BTC and cash out.

Part of the thinking behind this is that many of our game providers are not geared for BTC...

What would the communities feelings be on this?

And if you are interested in more information on this: www.gamblingtec.com

I think it would be better if you guys are just going to set bitcoin as the currency that is going to be use in your gambling site rather than when someone would deposit on your site, it will be converted into EUR, and they can convert it back in bitcoin, and I found it time consuming and can cause hassle. It would be faster if the players that would play to you could deposit and withdraw bitcoin to your site without converting it to EUR first, for them to be able to play in your site.
1149  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I never made any profits in dice game.. whats is your opinion on: March 10, 2017, 04:41:16 AM
Most of us who do gambling and play DICE doesn't make any profit most of the time, we lose all the time, and our bitcoin is always vanishing when we are doing gambling. We knew that before we start playing in different gambling sites that our money is at risk, and we don't know if we are going to win or lose in every bet that we are making, but, though we are losing most of the time, we are still continuing gambling.

It is not worth it, because we are not just losing our money here, we are also wasting our time to make or to do something that is more important than gambling, if we are just going to do the things that we are going to make profit like Trading and doing Signature campaign, I am sure that we do have a lot of bitcoins right now, but sadly, since we are still hoping that gambling is the way that we could easily multiply our bitcoin, that is why most of us don't have any bitcoin remaining in their wallets, maybe there is, but it would last only for a day because of gambling.
1150  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are dice sites reliable? on: March 10, 2017, 02:53:57 AM
I am not convinced that the term reliable is the right term for DICE games in different gambling sites, because no matter what house edge they have, still, we are going to lose and lose, no matter what, because that is how gambling sites works. If we want something reliable, that we could earn money in a legit way, then it is not those games from different gambling sites.

Signature campaign is one of the ways here in this forum to earn bitcoin is a safe way than gambling, because you are sure that you are going to receive the payment every week or month if you are going to follow every rules that a certain Signature Campaign has.

1151  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Worlds Luckiest Countries on: March 10, 2017, 02:14:10 AM
It was kind of funny reading this from a poker site regarding the worlds luckiest countries.
They have this kind of methology on how did they arrived on the conclusion.
If you will notice, Top 5 are the those 1st world country and the rest specially
the bottom 5 3rd world.

Here's the top 5 (out of 22). Just look at were your country at and you will
be the judge  Smiley

1. UK
2 USA
3. Italy
4. France
5. Japan.

Here's the link:https://www.888poker.com/infographic/luckiest-countries/
Enjoy  Grin
That's mean most the winner it's come from the countries that on the list, i dont think they has counting with right maybe some gambler is using vpn due the countries on the list is the most countries are used by people that use vpn.

I guess that is what OPs trying to say, but others just misunderstand it and just include Olympics in this topic. The top 5 countries that OP mentioned in those countries that excel in gambling when it comes to poker, maybe those countries do like to play poker the most, that is why they are use on playing it, and mostly, they are winning all of the time.

Because it is not impossible that your winnings count is more than your lost count because of your experience about a certain game in a gambling site.
1152  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you save bitcoin for fun or for future purpose? on: March 08, 2017, 03:34:43 PM
I have think of it and i have save up bitcoin just a the small amount because i have plans for it to have fun like travelling didn't even save it for future purpose. so i wanted to know what are you going to do with your bitcoin if you save bitcoin. Why do you save bitcoin for? and why? what is the purpose why you save up bitcoin to your wallet and not to spend it.

I am saving it because I want to buy something, and I know that bitcoin could help me to buy that. I want to buy a house, my own house, and I want to buy a lot of things that I am going to be needed in my future. I am saving bitcoin because I know that someday, it would me more just the way it is right now, it will create history, that is why I'm saving it before it is too late, and I don't want to regret in the end that I didn't save any.

I am saving bitcoin for the best, for those thing that I know that I need, and not only to those thing that I want, because not all the things that we want is the one that we also need, and we need to be wise on spending our bitcoin, not just spending it as long as we have some.
1153  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is treated a stock on: March 08, 2017, 03:13:47 PM
I thought at first that Bitcoin will be a currency to be used in the future. But from what I am seeing here is that it will be treated as a stock, it is even compared to gold. What do you guys think?

I don't think that "Stock" is the right term to use in bitcoin, yes, we are storing it on our bitcoin wallet, but it doesn't mean that it is a stock. It can only be called a "stock" if you are not even using it in any ways, but if you are using it in different transactions, then it can't be called a stock at all. Those people who have invested all of their money in bitcoin and not using it because they are waiting for the right time 'till bitcoin reached it highest peak that it could ever reach, then I guess that is when the term "stock" is going to be appropriate to use.

And it is always being compared to gold by many people here, some of them maybe just can't accept that they have invested their money on gold instead on bitcoins, that is why they are debating about this, if what is better between the two, though, we all know bitcoin is much better than gold.
1154  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Booking hotels online throgu bitcoin on: March 08, 2017, 10:41:28 AM
Hi guys!

what do you think on my site ? http://isradown.biz/
soon you'll be able to book hotels with bitcoins and altcoins and NOW you can search your favorite hotel on the search. isn't it amazing ?

It is really a good idea because you could earn more profit if you are going to accept bitcoin as a payment when someone is going to book in your hotel, though right now, expect that only few will going to pay bitcoin for something like this, because for me, spending your bitcoin into something like this, I mean we could pay bookings on the hotels in Fiat, and paying bitcoin for this is just a devaluation, just my opinion.

Because for me, every bitcoin counts, and earning bitcoin is not that easy, because you know, you need to spend more time on it, sleepless night because you are posting to achieve the required post per day or per week and so on, that is why for me, if we can pay something on fiat, then there is no reason for us to use our bitcoin as a payment.
1155  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's freaking 2017 - Do you own 1 BTC? on: March 07, 2017, 04:34:06 PM
I just started months ago, so that is really impossible that I own now a bitcoin unless I buy one, which I won't . Dont have that money to buy one.
You can still get 1 BTC is easy, you just simply convert fiat to bitcoin. but if we do not have that much money it is almost difficult to have 1 BTC now as prices continue to rise. we will be hard to have 1btc if we still use it for daily needs.
He said he doesn't want to buy because he has no money and you advise him to "convert fiat?" Are you dumb or pretending to be?

I still don't own 1 Bitcoin and with the current prices I won't buy one either. It's no longer something all of us can get without spending a large portion of our monthly wage. Getting 1 bitcoin is becoming harder and harder as time passes.

But he said but if we do not have that much money it is almost difficult to have 1 BTC after saying this You can still get 1 BTC is easy, you just simply convert fiat to bitcoin , so there is no one to be called Dumb here, we have our own opinion, though it is wrong that he said that it was hard to have 1 bitcoin if you don't have fiat, because there is so many ways to have 1 bitcoin, but, it will take time for you to have that amount of bitcoin, depends on what way are you going to do in order to have that 1 bitcoin in just a short of time.

Fiat converting into bitcoin, is one of the easiest way to 1 bitcoin yes, but this is only for those people who are rich, or have enough money to invest in bitcoin, so there is no need for them to do something else to have this 1 bitcoin, though, it is still depends on them if they want more, they find ways on having more.
1156  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is offering or receiving Bitcoin a practice of commercial bribery? on: March 07, 2017, 04:07:40 PM
Bitcoin could be defined as goods or money. I wonder if it's a good practice to give or take bitcoin as a gift. Could it be a means of bribery?

Giving and receiving bitcoin in an ordinary way can not be called bribery just like that, unless, if you are going to ask something in return for that money that you gave to an officer, or other person in charge, that is what you called bribery. Well, sending bitcoin as a gift, let's say to a friend or to someone that you love is a good practice because you could make someone happy in that way, everyone loves money.

People nowadays are thinking practically because we do really need money in our everyday lives, and no one wants to face something like this, they don't want to experience financial problem because it will be a really pain in the ass on each of us, that is why, we are working so hard, and let's share our blessings to others who are those in needs, but let's not use bitcoin in this bribery act, because this is wrong.
1157  Economy / Speculation / Re: How do Bitcoin traders know when it's the best moment to sell? on: March 05, 2017, 06:46:55 PM
How do Bitcoin traders know when it's the best moment to sell and then buy again?
How to get that moment just before the crash?
How do experienced traders keep holding and predict the best sell time just before the crash?

It is simple, they buy Altcoins on its DUMP state, then sell it on its PUMP state, just like that, for them to easily know when is the right time to sell their Altcoins and they are going to wait when someone's is going to DUMP his Altcoins and they are going to buy it, and sell it again in the right time. This process is just keep on repeating all the time, that is what the Traders do, though we have our own ways on Trading, this one is the most used strategy that I am seeing that is why I suggest it because it is really effective for us not to lose any profit.
1158  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your game and why? on: March 05, 2017, 06:12:01 PM
My game is craps.
It is always interesting to see how the night goes on that.

Mine is DICE, as always, because it is easy to understand the rules and regulations, and how it works. Also, it is not taking so much time for you to know if you are going to win or if you are going to lose, unlike poker, which requires time for you to know the result. And also, there is an auto-bet in DICE where you can leave your bitcoin and let it work on its own, then go back when you want to, well, if you don't have time to spend on gambling you could do this.
1159  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ETF betting on: March 05, 2017, 05:40:37 PM
So as we know, some people think the ETF will pass and bitcoin will go $2000++
Other people think ETF will not ass and bitcoin will go under $1000 again

both are good opportunities to make more money

What would you bet? ETF passes or rejected? Odds change across sites.

We all know that odds doesn't mean much, anything is possible.

I want to be positive about this because we are talking about here is the bitcoins price. I will put my bet that ETF will pass, because the SEC approved it, and if I am right about this, then we could make a lot of profits, especially those bitcoin users who holds their bitcoins for a very long time and are waiting for something like this to happen, because it is an opportunity to convert bitcoins in to fiat to have more money.
1160  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 1 in a million on: March 05, 2017, 05:19:40 PM
I wish i started mining and bying bitcoins back in 2010 like the early adopters.
I was pretty stupid at that time. Angry
I don`t know what`s the point of this "research"?Do you have 21 btc?
I will never have 21 bitcoins.

When I watching this list that OP presented us I wish I started mining, buying, I would even claim bitcoins from faucets back in 2010. I can`t say I was stupid back then, I just wasn`t aware of bitcoin in that time even I was very active on internet.
Back then was much easier to make 21 btc, now its harder but its not impossible I think. I wonder how will this list look like for 10 years, when I watch this list I have a feeling that bitcoin can really go to the sky in next 10 years. Thanks for this awesome list and reminder my friend.

There is no reason to say "I wish" because what is important is we know bitcoin in all of the people living in this world, we are lucky because we are earning bitcoin right now, compare to those people out there who only know fiat and nothing more. So, there is no reason to regret what we didn't do in the past, because it is the present that will lead us to mold our future, so, whatever what we are doing right now to earn bitcoin, we must continue on doing it, and no matter how much bitcoin do we have right now, we must save it, and just spend it on the things that we really needed.

Because if we spent our bitcoin just to buy the things that we want, then the next time, we are going to sell what we need to buy something that we want.
