11481  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is gambling so addicting? on: August 03, 2016, 09:44:21 AM
I don't know why but I always get a feeling to gamble, after then losing my money, I quit for some time and then continue, but I know I will lose my btc Sad

Why is it so addictive?

There are different kinds of people, for some it's addicting and for some it's not. Also the same person could be the first or the second in different periods of time. IMO being addicted to spending time gambling is one thing but being addicted to your greed is what is really bad.
11482  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Bitfinex Hacked] So , learned the lesson ? on: August 03, 2016, 09:21:34 AM
Once again , Bitfinex has been hacked and I just want to ask you people , have you learned the lesson yet ? I assume not otherwise you wouldn't keep your funds in an exchange (I'm not speaking with those who kept their bitcoin for short period of time , those accidents happens but I'm mostly speaking for those who had their bitcoins laying there for weeks/months)

I'm not trying to be rude or anything but for the last time , please ... please ! Just withdraw your funds from exchanges . I'm not sure what you got to lose here , this procedure will only secure your coins and make you safer.

I'm very sorry if anyone lost their money and I'm sure hackers will not be happy with what they have stolen. Yes, if you have more than 20 USD in an exchange or anywhere else it's better to withdraw the money to your wallet and don't leave them for hackers to steel.

That's been said, I think Bitfinex, or any other site which was hacked, should return all the money to the users who lost them because it was their responsibility to prevent the hacking.
11483  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is this what we called "addictive to gamble"? on: August 02, 2016, 08:43:27 AM
we know that most of the times we lost on gambling, but instead of stopping we keep on playing for the next day

after we lost, we got frustrated but we still back to play, is this called "gamble addiction"?

Yes, this is exactly a sign of a gambling addiction. But IMO if you know you will lose it's not as bad as if you think you can really win. If your addiction to gambling is limited to losing couple of dollars per week it's not that bad, right?
11484  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Best Way To Encourage Offline Store To Accept BTC on: August 02, 2016, 08:23:21 AM
And then clients need to wait 6 hours for transaction to confirm because network can't handle all transactions.

Bitcoin is not to be used in that way.

Just ask the stores to accept zero confirmation and use 3rd party services such as BitPay if necessary.
Or wait till bitcoin network ready to handle more transaction before we encourage more shops to accept bitcoin.

I think if stores want to do business they should accept zero confirmation. I was always wondering how much do they really risk to lose when accepting zero confirmation? I may be wrong but I think - nothing really. All transactions made by regular people buying goods get confirmed sooner or later, right?
11485  Economy / Economics / Re: BTC at $500 means that I am finally in the green, others too? on: August 02, 2016, 07:38:46 AM
this year was turned into profit for many traders and users nit due to halving but something else but we have seen the price reached upto 600$ and now again started falling

I think the bitcoin price might not rise in the near future as the funds are moving to the Ethereum now.

Which funds are you talking about? With all due respect Ethereum is falling now. It's not a big fall but it's a fall anyway. And I'm talking about ETH / BTC relation, so Bitcoin is in a better position now.
11486  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Help about Gambling? on: August 02, 2016, 07:29:24 AM
I want to know which is the best option for gambling:-
1) Dice games
2) Blackjack
3) Roulette
4) Slots.....
I have tried Dice games but I am not Satisfied with it. I want to know your opinions which is the best gambling option From the above list?Huh?

IMO Dice is the best. It's simple so you can play right away without learning some rules. Slots are also simple but I don't like them one-handed bandits. ) Anyway don't think you can make money with gambling.
11487  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is stealing Bitcoin illegal? on: August 02, 2016, 07:14:55 AM
( Re: Is stealing Bitcoin illegal? )

So, when you asked your lawyer this question, what did he say?

I believe it depends on the quality of the lawyer..
~

Yes, it depends on the quality of the lawyer and as we know a good lawyer can make you go free from the court even if you've committed a crime, but still we can see and decide by ourselves whether the thing is right or not. Stealing Bitcoin is like stealing any other valuable thing, it's illegal and it's really bad in general.
11488  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What about the idea of a bitcoin shop in big cities? on: August 01, 2016, 07:42:42 AM
Hey Guys,

what would be your opinion if there would been Bitcoin shops in big cities like London, Berlin or Paris (also smaller cities).
So you could go inside the shop and buy or sell Bitcoin for a good price.

I think it would be an good (and an advantage) idea because more people would use Bitcoin so the price would rise up and the people who are owning Bitcoins at the moment would have more money in Bitcoins. Wink

Best regards,

Patrick Smiley

Yes, that's a great idea and I absolutely support it. There is no doubt already that Bitcoin is a real currency but somehow most people still don't realize it. Bitcoin will be accepted in stores globally, it's just the matter of time.
11489  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where can I earn much bitcoin? on: July 31, 2016, 09:47:40 AM
Ya might get bitcoin on the signature campaign and then use it to trade will get more bitcoin. But for trade to be studied in detail so that it can benefit a lot. It would be more effective and I think easy to do.

I don't think trading is an easy thing to do. I just recently entered the game and immediately lost several dollars after buying a shitcoin which went dead two hours later. You should really know what you are doing if you want to make money with trading.
11490  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Can I offer the use of my electricity? on: July 31, 2016, 09:35:06 AM
Thats really cheap electricity so i think your city might not be a big city means not very technologicaly progressed so i doubt you will get a good internet connection which works continuously without disconnecting. If it does then u can try this.
He's in Canada, so he shouldn't have any issues with connectivity. It seems that most ISPs in Canada are fairly reliable, even the poor ones.

OP, I'm going to assume that from your username, you're located in Banff. If you're located inside of the park, your options are probably fairly limited as to how much hardware you can host. I doubt you'll be allowed to build a warehouse to host mining gear inside of the park, but that's probably higher scale than you're planning on going.

If you plan to host a few miners out of your home or business, I think people would definitely be interested in 4 cents per kWhr power rates so you may have some people take you up on miner hosting services. The main problem with that plan is that you're a Newbie on the website with no previous trade history. Most people won't be willing to send you mining gear worth thousands of dollars for the promise of cheap hosting services as there would be nothing stopping you from running off with their hardware.

That's what I thought too. Not saying that I suspect OP is unfair, but he/she is most likely inexperienced so they need not only the mining gear but an experienced operator also.

That's been said, I really hope OP will find a way to use the cheap electricity for mining.

there is a way to do this

he buy the miner first,  your money for it remain in escrow, so he can not run away, then you can control the miner, and take 100% of the profit, you pay electricity plus hosting, but it must be a total that do not exceed too much the cost of electricity itself

when the miner repayed for itself, the money will be released, this was my idea to do a business like this with someone, because i need cheap electricity

That's a good approach IMO. Only people in general don't have money for buying mining gear by themselves and that's why they propose to send them your gear and wait for profits. Considering a lot of factors I think it's too risky even if both parties are honest.
11491  Economy / Economics / Re: Can we Manipulate Bitcoin price? on: July 31, 2016, 09:25:55 AM
Not likely with the current market capitalization!! It would absolutely be possible with an altcoin though.

Aka:
*PUMP AND DUMP*

Want to do it solo? Find a shitcoin and buy $500 worth every day for 10-30 days then sell sell sell!

Yes, with an unknown altcoin it's pretty easy but not with Bitcoin. And even if we could do it, I personally against the *PUMP AND DUMP* strategy. What will be the price of Bitcoin after that DUMP? Do we really need that?
11492  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is gambling so addicting? on: July 31, 2016, 09:06:21 AM
Because everyone wants easy money stuffs like you can earn a lot of money just by simple stuffs. Being overtaken by greed is a prettt bad thing that you should quit gambling. Better safe than sorry

but gambling won't make anyone easy money. if someone think that he can make easy money for gambling then he's absolutely wrong.
gambling is just looks like easy money. but when you get enter into it and play some time. you'll realize that it is not a way to make easy money. even it make you loose and loose all your money and nothing will left for you.

Although some lucky people do win big money with gambling it happens so rare that you can say it never happens at all. One should take a look at statistics and not at separate cases which don't reflect the whole picture. So I agree wuth you, gambling is a one way track to losing.
11493  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is stealing Bitcoin illegal? on: July 31, 2016, 08:59:10 AM
It should be illegal because it has value and if it is taken out of the possession of someone that is robbery

I read a story on here last week saying that the judge threw out a case because it involved bitcoin and therefore was not viewed as a real currency so no charges could be laid.

That there tells you how the judicial system views any transaction donewith bitcoin as non-existent in the world.

IMO that was just one particular case. How the judicial system views  any transaction done with bitcoin depends on the lawers and on the laws in a particular country. Stealing Bitocin is illegal and even creating a ponzi scheme involving Bitcoin is illegal too.
11494  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Odds of finding a fellow bitcoiner. on: July 29, 2016, 11:26:13 AM
Just today, I was on the bus and I was fiddling with my OTG cable to send a transaction on my phone with my Ledger wallet. I looked to my right, and what where the odds? The guy next to me was doing the same! We started talking, and we just kept talking!

What are the odds of you meeting a bitcoiner IRL?

P.s. I was not taking into the window.

What happened to you is really rare. I was on a bus once and saw a guy checking out what Bitcoin price is. I was so gald to see a random person who is interested in Bitcoin. I didn't talk to him but it was nice to see anyway.
11495  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying Drugs with Bitcoin ? on: July 29, 2016, 10:46:28 AM
Anyone bought drugs with bitcoin and what are you thought on the subject ?

i know i have used bitcoin to buy psilocybe cubensis thank you bitcoin i cold have not done this without you now i can trip watching corry & eastenders in the evening its such a sight.

That's a bad thing IMO that Bitcoin is associated with drugs and some people even think that you can buy only drugs for Bitcoin. Drug dealers and terrorists are using Bitcoin because they've learned the convenice of it, but I hope Bitcoin will be used more in legal activities and its bad reputation will be over in the future.
11496  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin transactions - Slow OR Fast on: July 29, 2016, 09:06:54 AM
Fast if merchants accept zero confirmation and slow if merchants don't accept zero confirmation, especially if they ask at least 3-6 confirmation.
But, for purchases something which is expensive, wait for a confirmation isn't problem.

I agree. And also I think it's ridiculous to wait until 1 conformation when purchasing inexpensive goods, but unfortunately many sellers think otherwise.
11497  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or gold? on: July 29, 2016, 08:26:55 AM
If you had to convert all your wealth to either Bitcoin or gold and keep it there for 10 years, which would you choose? Keep in mind the fact that Bitcoin has only been around for 5 years, and could be fundamentally different in any number of ways in 10 years.

I have no doubt that in 10 years Bitcoin will rise more in USD than gold will. In fact, gold might even fall a bit, which hardly will happen to Bitcoin. But I know of course that it's easy to say when you actually have no wealth and thus you will not be at risk of losing it anyway.
11498  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why Gambling is Fun? on: July 29, 2016, 08:20:24 AM
Why everyone is using the Word of Fun for only gambling, if gambling is a game, so all games are interesting and entertainment, not funny, Gambling is not a drama or play, it is a real and mind blowing game.
For me, nothing is funny in gambling.
What do you think of FUN in gambling?

I disagree with you. For me gambling is fun indeed. I never play with big money, so when I lose I lose not much, and it's fun to win a dollar or two, or lose a dollar or two and talk about it in chat on the site.
11499  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it better to save money or invest it? on: July 28, 2016, 08:43:02 AM
Is it better to save money in bank or invest it online, in real estate or maybe gold?

Online investing is a very risky thing. Sometimes you think you are investing in a solid thing but in reality they just take your money from you. Same applies to the real life investments too. So it's really hard to say what is better.

If you want my advice, here it is: buy things you need, travel, help those who are close to you - that's the best investment.
11500  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Starting Bitcoin based Casino on: July 28, 2016, 08:37:04 AM
I think you can do at least two things to attract people to a new online casino:

1. Make lower house edge than on other similar sites.

2. Launch a good Signature campaign here on bitcointalk to promote your site.

Also it's important that withdrawls and deposits work fast on your site, and that your site stays online 24/7.

Good luck! I hope you'll make a great site.
