11541  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 209: Woodley vs Thompson Info and Prediction Thread on: March 04, 2017, 09:14:34 AM
Rumors of Kahib going to the hospital hours before weigh ins.
I hope the fight is not canceled.
That will be a disaster if the fight is cancelled after the hype and expectation and after two cancellations i hope the match will continue as scheduled as everyone is excited to watch this match,he has missed weight only once but if he misses weight this time he wont be able to win the belt which will hurt the co main event .I hope everything goes well.
It is cancelled in Nitrogensports. My bitcoins are back available for betting again. I speculate they are hiding the issue with Khabib's weight cutting problems. There were already rumors about it that started at the beginning of this week. He also knows he cannot win convincingly versus Tony.
It is now official that the fight against Khabib and Tony is cancelled because of medical conditions of Khabib. Really disappointed as this was the match i was looking for in a very long time and this is the third time the encounter between them is cancelled. Weight cutting is a huge issue in MMA and with no IV it is really difficult for fighters to regain their health in time for the fight and so is the reason they are doing early weigh ins and it is not about Khabib fearing Tony.

Its kinda suck. I was also disappointed for the match being cancelled. I'm also looking for this fight
and waiting for it a long time. I guess what's important is health comes first that's why they
cancelled the fight. And I think if Khabib continues with the fight, he will lose it anyway
because of weight issues. I thinking pointing fingers will begin as who is to blame for this.
I read that Tony Ferguson was offered a replacement to fight Michael Johnson but turn it down.
11542  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: FUCK! The Bitcoin is dead again. This time for sure. on: March 04, 2017, 08:43:20 AM
The OP goofed big time and I will advice him and his lots to take a cue from the lesson Bitcoin has taught them. They kept trumpeting and denigrating Bitcoin's potential on a daily basis that scared a lot of people to even sell off what they were holding but we that kept faith with it and held on the to the few we had are now smiling.
Already very often, and a lot of this kind of conversations are conducted, and at the same time, many users have become accustomed to it allegations and not having any under a base. Bitcoin is very much appreciated by the end of last year and now is stable doubling in price.

Maybe the OP now regret selling his bitcoin because he thinks that it is already dead
or died a long time ago. But look how bitcoin is doing right now, ATH here and there,
price higher per oz of gold, hou looming. Or is he secretly buying bitcoin now?  Grin
Well I guess he just read in somewhere in the Internet and believe it right away.
And decided to sell everything thinking that's its dead without any research and
did not employ his better judgement.

11543  Bitcoin / Press / [2017-03-04]What Bitcoin Lacks to Become Major Currency on: March 04, 2017, 07:20:40 AM
Over the past few months, the Bitcoin community has been debating about the purpose of the Bitcoin network. Is it supposed to serve its global network of users as a settlement network? Or should it perform as digital gold for investors using it as a safe haven asset and to process large sums of money?

Bitcoin is best described as a peer-to-peer digital currency. Bitcoin creator Satoshi Nakamoto described the Bitcoin network in its official white paper as an electronic cash system designed to facilitate payments from one party to another without the presence of a mediator or financial institution.

Growing mempool
Processing transactions within a peer-to-peer network with a complete absence of mediators, network administrators and third-party participants is difficult, expensive and technologically challenging, which is the reason why Bitcoin needs an open source community of developers to maintain its codebase.

Bitcoin is still at its early stage of development and adoption. Anonymity is yet to be introduced to Bitcoin users and scalability is an urgent problem still to be dealt with by Bitcoin developers within the open source community.

Currently, Bitcoin operates as digital gold. Average transaction fees are valued at $0.32 per transaction and the network requires at least one hour for a transaction to be verified. As of late, the traditional system of transaction approval based on six confirmations from miners has been delayed due to the Bitcoin network’s limited block size and growing mempool of transactions.

11544  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is miners cartel behind delays? on: March 03, 2017, 01:26:59 PM
I have seen a lot of delayed transaction threads and posts these days.Everyone is complaining of how their transaction got stuck and the usual increase fee advice follow.
I wonder if bitcoin miners have formed some kind of cartel or something and they are deliberately not confirming the transaction below their own determined fee?
May be all Chinese miners behind this.

No miners cartel sorry to tell you. Because each day the increasing transaction cause the network
to be clogged that led to the drastic rise in the miner fee associated with each transaction.

Here check out the hash rate and the difficulty:

https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/difficulty

Of course, bitcoin community members are not happy when they have to pay a lot more for
moving funds around. But I guess the short term solution right now it to as least increase
the fee so that it will be somewhat prioritize by the miners.

11545  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Been away from Bitcoin and cryptos since 2015... What have I missed? on: March 03, 2017, 12:24:52 PM
Howdy! I knew about Bitcoin since 2011 but only became seriously interested in late 2013 just after the big price rise that happened prior to Mt. Gox going under. I was quite a frequent poster on these forums until the first half of 2015. Then I went to college and studies got in the way of posting so I kind of lost interest in Bitcoin for the most part.

I was pretty deeply involved with the cryptocurrency scene during those months. I bought coins through LocalBitcoins (which I still hold to this day Smiley), gambled with them, ran my own faucets, traded altcoins, printed my own paper wallets, took part in signature campaigns, and mined with USB miners for fun. However, my knowledge of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies pretty much stops abruptly at around 2015.

So my question is this, what are some of the major developments that I've missed and should know about?

(For example, I remember learning about how GPUs were used to mine BTC in 2011 but that info was well out of date by 2013.)

First welcome back and your are lucky not to have your account hacked.

1. Bitcoin gaining momentum as of now because of all the SEC decision looms on March 11
so price is rising in anticipation of the decision.
2. Bitcoin transaction fees are rising. Blockchain is always clogged. As a result,
3. The whole BU and Segwit drama is still ongoing. Whether to do a hard fork or soft fork.
4. Online dice game is still there up and running and most likely earning a lot of money now.

That's only I can think of right now.

11546  Other / Politics & Society / UN drugs board slams killings in Philippines on: March 03, 2017, 11:24:39 AM
The UN-linked International Narcotics Control Board on Thursday condemned the use of extrajudicial killings in the Philippines, where President Rodrigo Duterte's much-criticized war on drugs has claimed more than 6,500 lives.

Duterte was elected in 2016 after promising to eradicate drugs in society. Since June, police have reported killing more than 2,550 people while more than 4,000 others have died in unexplained circumstances.

In a new annual report, the INCB said that "extrajudicial action, purportedly taken in pursuit of drug control objectives, is fundamentally contrary to the provisions and objectives" of international drug conventions.

Full Read Here: http://www.gmanetwork.com/news/story/601763/news/nation/un-drugs-board-slams-killings-in-philippines

The news is not new for me. United Nations has been a very vocal critic of President
Duterte especially the drug problems and extra-judicial killing in the Philippines.

Your Thoughts?
11547  Economy / Economics / Re: I have 12 BTC in my Account, How should I invest this?? on: March 03, 2017, 10:47:01 AM
Whoa! That's really cool having 12 BTC. If I were you I would probably cash out my 2 BTC and start a business here in my country!

2BTC means about $2000, so starting a business with only 2K? What kind of business? LOL

It depends which country his in. In my country, $2K is already a huge budget to put up a
offline business. I for one has a offline business here that I invested less than $1K and
its still doing good in terms of profit. Although we all know that small capital means
small gains as well but the fact that you can start with a small capital and has your money
rolling in every few weeks or months is good for me i guess.
11548  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: March 03, 2017, 09:28:20 AM
Evgeny Donskoy beat Roger Federer and then Lucas Pouille beat Donskoy, does that make Lucas Pouille better than Roger Federer? No quite sure, but I don't think this is the case, maybe Roger Federer didn't give his 100% in this tournament. Lucas Pouille will be face Andy Murray today, I hope to see the match like Philipp Kohlschreiber, not a dominate game.

Roger Federer had a bad day he blew three match points in the second set and didn't close
it out. I think Andy Murray will play different on his next match, because he will not want
to be like his previous match wherein he was stretch to the limit before getting the win.
The tournament is still long way to go and you don't want to get tired before going on
your next match, you want to win and win fast so that your body can rest before the next
game.
11549  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it better to save money or invest it? on: March 03, 2017, 09:16:35 AM
It would be better if you can invest your money, but not all. Save something in your bank then try to invest the rest. Saving is just you are saving money, banks have a little interest per annum and your money would not double in just a year. Investing with proper knowledge is much better.

It doesn't make sense to save a little in a bank as you mentioned it has little interest per annum.
I don't know about you guys, but I think getting or opening a brokerage account has a advantage
as well. Well you just have to pay them to buy or sell like bonds, mutual funds and other instruments.
None of us likes to gamble with our savings but the truth is there’s no such thing as a ‘no-risk’ investment.
You’re always taking on some risk when you invest, but the amount varies between different types of investment.

11551  Economy / Economics / Re: Passive Income on: March 02, 2017, 03:40:52 PM

One thing that I can recommend to have passive income is that you upload some photos to youtube while you have some adsense channel set up on it. With that you can have income from google without doing much effort for every ads clicked by users on your youtube videos can get you to earn $.This is a good opportunity for everyone but having an adsense account though isn't easy these days.  Agasense account is very difficult to acquire because of the requirements they ask for publishers.  But it should be worth for you to have a passive income forever.
- This is a great idea, however difficult to succeed because too many people have known it. Just a few years ago, work with youtube and adsense bring us a huge passive income but because many people know about it, so the rules become harder and then it is no longer a potential market. But if we have creative ideas, it will become a very good source of income for us. This is not a simple work, do not try if you do not have the patience and passion

I saw it on TV where a father just taking a video of her kid playing a toy and this kid tried to explain on the video about what this toy is and some stuff about it. They upload it on their youtube and now the kid is like a youtube sensation where toy manufacturer contact them so they give free toys for this kid and cash too just so the kid give reviews about their new toy releases. If i remember they first started with a doll and then later some fisher's toy and so on.

Just imagine how easy their life had be come which they eventually bought another house with better studio for their youtube videos.

I think with the Father and her kid video, it was opportunity that came knocking at their
door. The Father do not have intention to be a Youtube sensation, he just want to upload
their video on the Internet. If things had gone differently for them, they could still uploading
vdeo but no one will care about what the video is. They are at the right place at the right
time. Anyone with this king of opportunity will also be taking advantage, so as you say
their life is easier now compared to before.
11552  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016/17 NBA Season on: March 02, 2017, 03:01:27 PM
So this is it, Andrew Bogut finally decided where he wants to go and chose Cleveland Cavaliers. After Deron Williams which came from the Mavs, Bogut follows but not a direct trade to Cavs since he was first traded to Philadelphia 76ers for Nerlens Noel and did some talks with the team so that he can landed to a contender team.

Well for me, Bogut is a great addition for the Center spot at the Cavaliers since we all know that their big man is not that consistent. Just make sure Bogut will come healthy till the end since he is an injury proned player and his dissapperance will give a big hole for the Cavs.

It is a good addition although I'm not sure if he'll get some playing time in the playoffs/finals once Kevin Love comes back. The Cavs are a little thin in their frontcourt without him and Andersen but I can't see Bogut and Kevin Love at the same time. Also Bogut next to Tristan Thompson looks ugly as hell in my opinion, 0 offensive threat from those two.

But he can certainly help with his rim protection and passing abilities for now. I don't see him playing more than 10-15 minutes and even playing those minutes it could be a risk since he's too injury prone. Deron Williams on the other hand is a much needed backup PG that could even end up being a starter if he plays well enough (or at least be on court at the end of games), especially with JR Smith out.

Quite agree as Bogut and Thompson is really not that on action in terms of offensive plays. But Cavaliers can rely on them on defensive phase as this was their specialty and line since they entered the league.

Im expecting Kevin Love to be more productive if ever they will entered the finals again. Last finals, I considered him as a nervous players just like James Harden when Oklahoma City Thunders reached finals for the first time.

Remaining games for the Cavaliers will be it's training ground to test some mixed plays and to adapt the playing style of new additional players in their roster.
Let us not count out the possibility of the Cleveland Cavaliers being upset by the Boston Celtics in the East Finals, assuming that these two teams make it all the way there. Although the group of the Celtics which is led by the phenomenal Isaiah Thomas is still lacking substantial playoff experience (compared to the Cavs), they can still put up a very good fight. What’s more scary is Boston’s future because they have a lot of assets that they can use to further improve on their line up and fill the holes that they currently have.
That's what I'm thinking also, if the Boston Celtics will reach the Finals, it is already a great achievement of the team and that will give them the confidence which will make them scary for the seasons to come. Honestly, they surprise me this year, I thought it was the Bulls who will be the rival of Cleveland Cavaliers this season but Celtics just cross the line and they want compete with the champs.
Tonight's game was really good to see, I enjoyed watching it together with my son who also love basketball.

I was also impressed on how Boston Celtics played against Cleveland Cavaliers.
Boston's win overshadowed the seventh triple-double of the season for James.
Deron Williams had a chance to to be the hero in his Cavaliers debut but guess
its not his night. With this win against the Cavaliers, Boston has now a better
chance to be the top team in the East With Kevin Love and J.R. Smith still
unavailable to the defending champions and they are just 3 games behind the
Cavaliers.
11553  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin mixer on: March 02, 2017, 11:41:05 AM
First you need to know why we should mix our coins.

While using bitcoins is an excellent way to make your purchases, donations, and p2p payments, without losing money through inflated transaction fees, transactions are never truly anonymous. Bitcoin activities are recorded and available publicly via the blockchain; a comprehensive database which keeps a record of bitcoin transactions.

Here's a link to know about one of the trusted mixer in the industry.

11554  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Drug free in the Philippines on: March 02, 2017, 08:32:05 AM
Why do the durglords not call to arms and fight back?

Actually drug lords have put up a bounty to both President Duterte and General Bato.
Drug lords and Terrorists are also joining hands and put up a bounty to both of them.
Although I just read this in the Internet and I don't know if there is really a threat or
not, but one things for sure, putting up a bounty for the head of the President and
its General means that the government efforts to get rid of drugs are really affecting
the business of big time drug lords in the Philippines.
11555  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do You Go to Land Based Casinos? on: March 02, 2017, 05:53:37 AM
Yes, I'm been in the casino for the last 7 years, and only been in the online dice games only
about a year only. I always known that there are online games but I prefer land base here
in our place. I would say I been regulars on our casino and have meet and know a lot of
people in the casino circle as well. I only have a nephew and an cousin (Manager in a Singapore
casino)who is also casino industry. So that's pretty much sums up how involved I am in the
gambling world.

11556  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The anti-Putin paranoia. on: March 02, 2017, 04:49:55 AM
Putin is not our friend, to say the least.

Perhaps that is true. But I don't think that he is the enemy as well. The real enemy for the European civilization is the hordes of immigrants from the Middle East and North Africa. Russia and Putin is not a threat to the European culture.

Russia is not a friend of the U.S., but neither is it an enemy, nor necessarily opposed
to peaceful coexistence and cooperation. Perhaps Russians saw hope with Trump's election,
but I dunno when the love affair will last. I think the main enemy globally here is, terrorism.
They can probably co-exist with equal terms with Russia to wage war on terror. Terrorism
should have been eradicated or, at least, contained in the Middle-East. in IHMO. Putin
and Trump should worked hand in hand to fight terrorism globally.

11559  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why did the FBI/police disable timestamping while Esar Met was being interviewed on: March 01, 2017, 10:04:41 AM
The Esar Met confession videos were kept secret from the jury for obvious reasons. They show a young man being coerced into creating a confession, but getting fact after fact about the crime wrong.

On most video cameras there is a timestamping option. The time and date are inserted into each frame. On police videos that option is almost always used of course. It is very hard to finthat d a video tape of a police confession in the United States that has had that feature disabled.

Is it a coincidence that the videos have been cropped? Some of the videos start or end while the interrogation is in progress.

The only other police confession video easily findable without a timestamp is the central park jogger confession

http://time.com/4523257/donald-trump-central-park-five/

http://thepsychreport.com/conversations/coerced-to-confess-the-psychology-of-false-confessions/

note
The tapes were obtained legally, purchased from the police department, along with other documents.

It looks like the police has tampered with the video. And it looks like that the police
coerced and most likely contained incorrect translations. Although he's admitted being
involved in the death of a child, he was being badgered by the translator and misunderstood
what was going on. I guess the police can do anything specially if the suspect that speak
the native English language. I felt bad for Esar Met he already serving his sentence
but there's no harm in  trying to get an appeal and review his case.
