3.2% for BTC and 1.4% for NXT whitdrawal fee?

Fine with me. Bye bye Dgex.

And soon they will have trading fees...

3.2? Unheard of.

1.4? I'm not even sure i've heard of this before Dgex.

Hey guys, I am running the 0.4.8 client, but new blocks will not download? Any idea whats wrong? I deleted the folder, and still not working. None of the peers will connect either.

Same here.

Did Nexern give an ETA for his client?

One thing that hasn't been mentioned (I don't think), how are we going to vet/verify future client downloads?

As much as I don't share some users' level of conviction when it comes to user adoption vs. difficulty (I think this is rickyjames point), regular users having to worry about 1) brain wallet, 2) clunky client installer PLUS having to verify SHA256 for every update might drive people away.

I also think a permanent solution should be found the above issues.

To be honest, if the quality of software and all the ecosystem does not improve significantly, people will go away very soon. Now I guess most people here are attracted by the insanely fast growing price. Once it is stabilized, we will see more and more complains about the user experience.

For example, could you imagine an organization having millions of dollars does not have a reliable downloading service for frequent software upgrading? Is it so expensive to get a reliable VPS and setup a downloading server, or simply as a temporary solution just pay dropbox to get an official account with larger bandwidth?

This is so true.

What's going on with the Blockchain Explorer? It's been down longer than 24h

I finally published my blog post about Alias goldrush on 22nd December (how I spent 7 hours by registering 740 aliases Cheesy):
http://nxtcoin.blogspot.com/

- there are some personal thoughts and also some statistics Smiley

Nice read Smiley
I had no idea there was such a big rush.

Part of me feels shitty for reserving (squatting) so many aliases. The other part of me says 1) fuck it, I didn't start registering until 12/25 (Christmas night!)

I feel EXACTLY the same!

I severely concern the reliability and validity of the NXT transaction mechanism and DGEX system. Two days ago, I attempted to transfer 13287 NXT (plus 13 NXT transaction fee) to my DGEX account as deposit with a transaction deadline of 1 hour. Unfortunately, after one hour (1 hour deadline passed), the transaction was not made, and in my DGEX account history, it was stated that the NXT deposit was pending. Hence, for this pending order, I clicked the “cancel” button to cancel the “deposit”. Then in the history, it was stated that the “pending deposit” was canceled.

After two days (as of now), in my NXT account, 13300 NXT still disappears. From the information button “i”, I found the transaction ID, indicating 13300 NXT was transacted to the DGEX system. However, I could not see any deposit in my DGEX account.

Two days ago, I sent an email to DGEX and left a message in DGEX website. Up to now, no reply from DGEX…

My specific questions are:
1) Why did the NXT transaction still proceed even after the deadline was passed?
2) Where is my 13300 NXT now?
3) Why DGEX does not reply me?

I'm a supporter of the NXT project, but I noticed these kind of issues are a recurring theme. It causes a bit of a trust issue. Why is it happening, is it happening solely because the blockchain ain't downloaded/refreshed properly? Because you ain't connecting to proper peers? Something third?

Is everything working fine right now with you?

I'm running 0.4.8 for 2 hours, it's still stuck at block 0 from 24.11. I guess the blockchain ain't downloading at all.

I tried switching to 0.4.7 and it seemed fine.

There's a small mistake in the beginning of the video.

Approx. at 0:10 the narrator says: "...called Bitcoin, but it was too SLOWLY..."

It should be "...called Bitcoin, but it was too SLOW..."

Which is true for both sides, as Snowden has shown us.

Offtopic: If I issued Nxt banknotes I would put Snowden on them...

and Chelsea Manning? Smiley

Guys guys, slow down - are you sure about the legality of owning these aliases just like that?

It's the world of cryptoanarchy. There is no such word as "legal".

Not yet. In cases like this they fight with everything they have at their disposal.

Cheesy

coca-cola is not gonna be too happy either

good thing is, they can't sue someone within nxt-space for aliases,
there is only a nice big buy button where they can choose from.  Grin

Smiley

I would be quite happy if you're correct, but is that really true?

Even if this is new environment, is it safe so have a "brandname" just like that?
1178  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: December 28, 2013, 05:41:38 PM
@CfB

got "comefrombeyond" alias.
10M and it's yours

I buy "come-from-beyond" only.

can't use "-" on aliases  Tongue
that's why i bought it without  Cool

That's quite nasty tbh. Just give it to him Smiley

But be my guest if you want to steal GeorgeBush or someone similar

Auction website.

+10

Still need the implementation of alias transfer function first.

+20

Someone could still be willing to sell the account password and alias(es) in it, and swear to never unlock it ever again Smiley and the buyer could transfer away the alias once alias transfer is implemented.

I wouldn't do that. Too risky.
