If I understand correctly, the more participants in the ICO, the less coins each investor will get.  Then why are you hyping the ICO ?

To get the word out that even while investors get fewer coins as others join our community, those fewer coins become worth more to protect and preserve the value of their investment.

Hey!  I think I came up with another elevator pitch for the Lisk ICO!

I am hyping the ICO because the more donors Lisk has, the more code development funds will exist to make a great project even better.

What's not to be excited about in "Lisk = 100,000 Javascript programmers writing personal blockchain dapps that run on their own cooperative network of $9 CHIP computers" ?

Who wouldn't want to get in on the ground floor of something as revolutionary as THAT?

(Plus, I just like pictures of rockets.  And computers with bananas in the background to show their tiny size : http://getchip.com/ )

Can we first see if this new team can even get us the needed delegates just to secure the network before we start talking moon?

Yeah, that's the first thing they did to make Lisk different from Crypti - they're offering 150K Lisk in the first year to run a DPoS node.  I'm thinkin' that just...might...work...
1164  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: February 24, 2016, 12:41:43 AM
...and we're by no means done in rising to the very top where Bitcoin and Ethereum are!
This is very wishful thinking.

What part of the memo about "Lisk = 100,000 Javascript programmers writing personal blockchain dapps that run on their own cooperative network of $9 CHIP computers" did you not get or read?

Hey, I think I just came up with a pretty good "elevator pitch" for Lisk.   What's yours?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elevator_pitch

Investors are going to lose their shirts when LISK hits exchanges and market cap dumps down below 1000 BTC

LOL.  If Crypti could hold 1000+ BTC market cap value BEFORE Lisk showed up just on Version 0.5.5 code development by Boris WITHOUT a $300K code development fund, why would Lisk drop BELOW 1000 BTC market cap value with everything Crypti had PLUS a $300K+ code development fund?

1165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: February 23, 2016, 10:05:38 PM
MILESTONE ANNOUNCEMENT:

Mathematically, one Lisk is now officially worth more than the 1300 fixed satoshi price of one Crypti offered in the ICO.  Lisk also now has a $300K fund for further code development after only two days of donations.  If Lisk were listed on Coinmarketcap.com with its current market cap, it would rank 80th out of 684 coins listed - and we're by no means done in rising to the very top where Bitcoin and Ethereum are!  The future of Lisk is bright - and over the next 27 days that Lisk future is gonna get even brighter!

I tried sending Crypti in the ICO, but the transaction just got stuck at 0/10 confirmations. I made a new exchange again after that, and got the same result.

Are you working on a fix for this?

I am in the same boat.  There's Crypti network problems, possibly because so much Crypti is getting shuffled around so fast.  Olivier is working on it.  I recommend holding off further transfer attempts until this is resolved.
1167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: February 23, 2016, 09:51:12 AM
What are the prices in this ICO?

Ok...so I sent 0.05 BTC, and it looks like I have 4477 Lisk.
Is that right? And where are they?  Huh

The genesis block to distribute Lisk will not be created until after the ICO ends on March 21.  During this time, more donors will join.  As they join, the fixed 85M Lisk being distributed in this ICO must be further subdivided among them, so the amount of Lisk allocated to you must mathematically decrease.  To compensate for your declining proportion, the money brought in by new donors makes the fewer Lisk you hold more valuable.   However many Lisk you hold will be worth 0.05 BTC at all times, even tho the number of Lisk you will be allocated are almost certainly less than 4477 by now.

The Lisk community has some charts we are watching that shows the current numbers and how they can and will change...

[...] Crypti was a success [...]

You mean the ICO of Crypti? Because Crypti is dead after Lisk launch. That can't be called as a "success".

The future of Crypti remains to be seen.  It has significant differences from Lisk and so retains its own unique value and unique direction if Boris wants to continue it.  Max and Olivier provide a path forward to those in Crypti who want to follow them into Lisk.   Both Crypti and Lisk benefit from separating its core devs into two groups with compatible visions.  Count me in with Lisk.

I don't see why people seem to be expecting a spectacular performance from the same people doing the same trick again with a new name.

How is Lisk starting with a solid 0.5.5 code base and considerable social infrastructure vs Crypti being faced with writing from scratch a 0.0.1 code base and only a team of a few guys "doing the same trick again"?
1170  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: February 23, 2016, 12:22:59 AM
Why are people dumping so much BTC into this ICO?

The previous project of the LISK developers, crypti, is not massively successful.  History of low trading volume and sub-1000 btc market cap.

What makes you think they will be massively successful with their new LISK project?

Crypti has wandered in the wilderness for almost two years trying to perfect something different and special in the cryptocoin world.  We won't even go into their code failures, which were legitimate attempts to develop something new and worthwhile.  Give the Crypti team this, they never gave up.  Their latest direction - side chains / dapps written in JavaScript that can be run with microcomputer boards - is a brilliant idea that has successfully made it to "alpha" / "beta" status.   The 0.5.5 code base is ready to go.  However, time and attrition had sapped Crypti of funds, key personnel and a team agreement of what to do next.

Lisk is an attempt to take Crypti to the next level with a solid code base, the most enthusiastic members of the Crypti team, and a second round of funding for a start-up.

When you eject deadwood, keep the green shoots, mix in fresh blood and money on the right idea at the right time -  that's when you have a shot at going places.  And being massively successful.

That's what I believe about Lisk.

Crypti raised 8500 BTC and issued 100,000,000 XCR in return, back in July 2014

Now Crypti market cap is down to 1000 BTC, initial investors lost 88% of their BTC.

I think it's crazy to expect anything different from the same people doing the same thing again under a new name.

I call troll bullshit.  Crypti raised 750 BTC over 5 days.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=654463.msg7868748#msg7868748

Crypti as a whole is valued in this ICO at a fixed fair market price of 1300 BTC.  That's a 73% return on investment for Crypti genesis block holders.  Crypti was a success and Lisk will be even more of a success.

What percentage of the coins are for sale? Is it 100% for the ICO or are there additional coins for devs/users/etc.?

85M Lisk will be given out to people who buy in with BTC, Crypti and Shapeshift coins.  15M are retained for dev payments, bounties, marketing and rewards.  100M Lisk total in the genesis block after March 21.
1173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: February 22, 2016, 11:38:32 PM

So the ico go 1 month and on day 1 (in 6 hours because the delayed start) we will see about 1000 btc.

does it make any sence to invest only 1 bitcoin anymore? mhhhh

You can't compare your individual assets to the combined assets of everybody else and feel your assets are insignificant.  Instead, you have to ask yourself - what percentage return on investment (ROI) can I get for my resources that I can put into this investment opportunity?

I think the ROI for Lisk looks really good.  Many others agree.  You are welcome to join our community.

Question tho when I send the Bitcoins it says I had 3800 Lisk.
Few hours later it I am only getting 2680 Lisk.
Is that because more people bought in to Lisk?

Correct.  And as the number of Lisk in your share goes down, the value of each Lisk in it goes up.  These two effects cancel each other out.  You don't lose money as more people show up, you don't gain money as more people show up.   At all times during the ICO, the total value of your donation is preserved.

Sorry but NO. I would advice everyone not to waste their money.

Sorry but NO, the English word you want to use is "advise", not "advice".

It hasn't been officially announced yet, so take this as nothing more than a rumor, but there have been strong hints that Lisk will be joining the Microsoft Blockchain As A Service (BaaS) program.

http://www.nasdaq.com/article/microsofts-azure-blockchain-as-a-service-program-gains-momentum-cm562389

Sooooooo..........I think you're wrong, Microsoft IS interested in Lisk!

can someone tell me how many BTC there are already and how many hours till the end of "first day"? Thanx

Everything I say is not official.  Currently at 461 BTC donated and end of first day has been pushed out to Feb 23 05:30 UTC, around 8 hours from now.    Max / LiskHQ will post official details soon.

You can track ICO donations in two places.  The raw number is at the ICO home page:

For some additional context, you can follow the spreadsheet play-by-play...

Anyone having problems getting XCR out of Poloniex? My transaction is pending since an hour.

Maybe Polo is still on the fork that the ICO client was on?  The Crypti node network currently only has around two-thirds of delegates running...

One thing is for sure.  With the Crypti that is flowing to them in the ICO, Max/Oliver/Lisk are going to be able to vote in whatever delegates they want/need to run the Crypti network correctly for the next month or two...
