1161  Economy / Speculation / Re: Market crash ? on: January 16, 2018, 08:27:44 PM
Can someone tell me why the price of BTC is Crashing ? Will it go back to 1USD =1BTC ?

Too pessimistic and not feasible. The market could allow huge fluctuations in the bitcoin price even by hundreds of dollars in less than 24 hours but it will not let it crashing to the point you mentioned.

Hundreds ? u mean thousands ?

In fact, i wrote it thousands then removed it and changed it by hundreds since the price volatility is limited generally to hundreds of dollars.
For the moment, It is still unclear where we will land after this loss.
1162  Other / Meta / Re: Activity & new membergroup limits on: January 16, 2018, 08:22:20 PM
a newbie cannot add any signature ?

Just read the post above you if you didn't pay attention on the first post. It is written :
Newbie: No styling (including links) allowed. Max 50 characters.
So yes you can put a signature but with limited features.

1164  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [ELI5] Everything about Activity! on: January 16, 2018, 12:39:06 AM
Great explanation of this complicated activity point system. I made a calculator to check the rank-up date based on your registarion date and it can be helpful too. Check this thread and let me know if you find any mistakes.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2534500.0

I think that you need to fix the periods starting time by adding 1 day, you can check the link in the first post.
Periods start on Tuesday at a specific time, even posting in that day before a precise hour, the post will count in the previous period.
1165  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [ELI5] Everything about Activity! on: January 15, 2018, 10:47:54 PM

Yep I read it and I like it as i said but honestly no one read the 4th page... It should be sticky.
I made this because newbie continue asking questions..
A one topic listing all the unofficial rules and simplified version with examples of activities and ranking could help but we should force them somehow to read it.
Maybe creating a section containing 1 topic called rules, activity and ranking could also help Tongue

Edit : moved to B&H, will be locked and will refer to hilarious post once it is sticky.
1166  Other / Beginners & Help / [ELI5] Everything about Activity! on: January 15, 2018, 07:03:24 PM
Since the same questions about activity are re-asked over and over, i will try here to simplify things.
I will start with definition then I will illustrate it with examples :

Quote
-Period : period is equal to 14 days and it starts on Tuesday. You can find in this list when the periods start https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/12saLhlUoqIdairxzuSPu6EYGrt7FN2lOstO1yDjCEbA/htmlview?pli=1

Quote
-Activity : activity is limited to 14 for every period considering that you made at least one post in it.
Activity increases with the number of posts you made but it will not exceed 14 even if you made more than 14 posts in a period.

Quote
-Potential activity : it is the activity that you have but you didn't claim because the number of posts you made is less than 14 per period (for 1 period or more)
You can calculate it by multiplying 14 with n (n is the number of periods you made at least 1 post in it).

Example 1 : ep1 :
- Newbie1kenobi has joined today the forums and he made 1 post in period1 so he will have in his profile 1 post - 1 activity (and he has the right to get up to 14 activity which we called potential activity)
- He later added 3 posts in period1: so it shows 4 posts - 4 activity (he can still claim the remaining 10 potential activity).
- He made later a total of 20 posts in period1 : so it will shows 20 posts - 14 activities.

Example 1: ep2 :
- Newbie1kenobi made only 1 post in period2 so in his profile he will have directly : 21 posts - 21 activity.
If you will ask why he jumped directly from 14 to 21 then the answer is simple and logic.
Since he made 1 post in period2 he claimed another 14 activity which means he have the right to reach a total of 28 activity (which we called potential activity). Now considering 1 post = 1 activity and he has posts (20) > his activity (14), his activity will jump directly to the number of posts he made without passing 28 (his potential activity).
Now at the end of period2, he has : 21 posts - 21 activity (and 28 potential activity).

Example 1 : ep3 :
Newbie1kenobi didn't post in period3, then his posts, activity and potential activity remain unchanged. He lost 14 days.

Example 1 : ep4 :
Newbie1kenobi didn't connect in period4 and didn't make a post.
A staff member found a trashy topic in the forums and throw it to the garbage. Newbie1kenobi made the mistake of making his unique post in period2 in that trashed topic.
He lost his post for period2 (actually all his posts in period2 since he has only 1) then he will lose the 14 (potential)activity dedicated for period2.
Newbie1kenobi has at the end of period4 : 20 posts - 14 activity (and 14 potential activity).

Example 1 : ep5 :
Newbie1kenobi joined a signature campaign and spammed the forums with 100 posts in period5. He will have then : 120 posts - 28 activity - 28 potential activity.
Remember that his (potential)activity cannot increases more than 14 per period regardless the number of posts he made.

Example 1 : ep6 :
Newbie1kenobi is banned from the forums for making non constructive spammy posts.

-THE END of the 1st episode-
1167  Other / Meta / Re: Activity & new membergroup limits on: January 15, 2018, 07:51:33 AM
How the number of posts and activity correlate? 1 post=1 activity point?

1 post = 1 activity
Maximum 14 activities every 2 weeks (1 period) even if you make more than 14 posts
Next period starts next Tuesday.
0 post in 1 period = 0 activity in that period

So in order to achieve Legendary rank you need to be active every single day for 55 periods? This adds to 110 weeks, which is more than 2 years!

Never said you have to be active every day  Wink
I just said you need to post in every period which means at least 1 post per period to unlock the possibility to get 14 potential activity. But remember if this post is deleted, you will lose the 14 activities.
Example :
You have 14 activities and you make 1 post in the new period then you will get 15 activities with a potential of 28 which will be achieved whenever you will make the 13 remaining posts even in another period.
Now in the same example, that unique post that you made in that period was deleted then you will lose all 14 activities and your activity will be deducted by 14.
That's why, preferably, you should make many posts per period = 14 days (14 posts to claim the potential activity)
Here is when the periods starts https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/12saLhlUoqIdairxzuSPu6EYGrt7FN2lOstO1yDjCEbA/htmlview?pli=1

I think we shouldn't quote each other since soon the quotes would be stacked, and that would look really messy.

We should quote each other or else if an account was hacked and the bitcoin address was edited or deleted by the hacker, the original owner cannot prove to everyone that he got hacked.
When I quoted your text here, you can edit it or remove it but i will not change it or make any modifications (after few days ofc) even if you asked me. The original owner could verify a message using the bitcoin address that I quoted in my post even if the original post was modified or deleted.
Of course the admins could check all the original posts in this topic even if they were deleted but generally their response will need few weeks or maybe months.
1171  Other / Meta / Re: Newbies can now pay a small fee to enable images on: January 13, 2018, 11:40:10 PM
just found out about this, doesnt this kinda completely defeat the purpose of having these restrictions. They are there to stop scammers/spammers , many wiil happily pas small fee.!!?Huh

Scammers could buy a junior member for the same price tho or create multiple bot that will be farmed for a specific period before it starts the predefined scammy activity...
Scammers tend to grab as much cents as they could, i doubt they will bother paying in order to have less restrictions
1172  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-01-13] US Government Fears Bitcoin Will Be the Next “Swiss Bank Account” on: January 13, 2018, 08:00:12 PM
People in the past were hiding their treasure / money in hidden places inside their houses, in holes (don't know why i remembered trump). Then after the banking system came (to generate a rich cash grabbers society level), people put their money their and it was later spied by governments and their shitholes agencies.
Now after Bitcoin came to life (and other cryptocurrencies / thanks satoshi) these agencies get pissed off since their democratic countries can no longer inspecting its citizens...
Money laundering, terrorism, corruption...stupid excuses to ruin the lives of innocent people trying to get food, house and a place to be buried in it in peace!

1175  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Nexchange.io SCAM - signature campaign stopped paying. on: January 12, 2018, 06:14:46 PM
I joined the campaign after the owner announced that he has 5 open spots respecting this form
Quote
Apply the respective signature based on your rank (see below)
Reply to this thread with the following information:
I didn't removed the signature for 30 days. The "active" OP didn't answer to anyone whether he was accepted or not and didn't pay anyone.
Pure scam, he could not ask to apply the signature before being accepted.
People just found themselves advertising this scammy signature campaign for free for more than a month...without any response from an OP that was connecting everyday...
1176  Other / Meta / Re: Activity & new membergroup limits on: January 12, 2018, 05:30:36 PM
I have 42 Activity a very long time  Embarrassed. When I get more  Cry ?

Next Tuesday a new period of 14 days will start so your activity will increase to 56.

Activity increases every 2 weeks by 14 only and not everyday.
