11621  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: July 30, 2016, 04:00:25 AM
Yes if you look at the whole chart you will see that XEM has gone a very long way and still has a lot to offer. It is just "resting" right now and it will go down because it is impossible for the people to keep buying forever. Wiat for this to go down at the lows and you should start buying again. Make sure you buy as an investment and hold it very long. XEM is a good investment.
11622  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETC on Polo on: July 30, 2016, 03:56:14 AM
I pity Minecache. He is fighting with a losing side. The ideals and principles of a person in him that is attracted to the cryptosphere is corrupted by his master Vitalik. He is blind and does not see anything anymore because he has become blinded by money he will get in ETH trades. ETC is a threat in his profit making so now he is attacking it and posting anything even stupid things.
11623  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Market is not wrong, Vitalik Buterin is. on: July 30, 2016, 03:51:27 AM
Let us agree with calling the attacker a "thief". He got coins that weren't his without permission, so yes he is a thief.

He's a thief regarding moral standards.  In the same way that the state is a thief when it collects taxes.
Whether he's a thief according to legal standards (which ones ?) is to be seen, and can only be pronounced by a court.
And in the system at hand, he's no thief at all, because he acted legally (the code).

So I agree with you to call him a moral thief, like the state is a thief.

Quote
Why do you think Vitalik just left the thief alone? He knows he will lose against him. He is losing even now after the hard fork.

Because in going to court, Vitalik was going to get much more from the whip than the thief whose identity is unknown.

Analogy: If you are the owner of a money laundering service, is going to court because they stole from you an option ?

The funny thing is the attacker knew all of this before the attack. It was carefully planed and any move Vitalik will be doing the attacker is ahead of him. If Vitalik thinks of another way to circumvent everything let us wait for the attacker's move. It is like a game of chess with the attacker zeroing in on Vitalik's king.
11624  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So, are all the previous ETH haters now ETH(ETC) lovers??? on: July 30, 2016, 03:47:07 AM
Yes. The new support momentum coming in to the original Ethereum classic is coming from the bitcoiners. I think even the attacker is a bitcoiner himself. There are even discussions that the attacker is the group of Mircea Popescu. He is one of the most feared men in bitcoin.
11625  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [2016-7-29] The Theft of a $1bn blockchain-Ethereum/Slock.it facing legal action on: July 30, 2016, 03:23:56 AM
We have decided to launch legal action against the Ethereum foundation and the Slock.it development team. Please join us if you feel you have been effected in any way through the actions of the Ethereum foundation or Slock.it.

We are motivated by our crypto morals, ethics and the unspoken law within our culture. We are backed by the real word legal system and the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Not only do we challenge the foundation but we demand a full public Audit of the funds and transactions related to the Ethereum Foundation and developers.

https://bitflikz.com/blogs/news/the-theft-of-a-1-billion-dollar-blockchain-community-legal-action-begins

Lol. It is just a blog by someone who is trying to make things happen. I do not think anything will happen to the slock.it team and Vitalik. The SEC will not want to do in any of this because the legal background of cryptocurrencies cannot be defined as of yet. They will not risk filing a case because if Vitalik wins this will set a precedent for all cryptocurrencies as an escape route from being charged.
11626  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Market is not wrong, Vitalik Buterin is. on: July 30, 2016, 03:16:28 AM
Let us agree with calling the attacker a "thief". He got coins that weren't his without permission, so yes he is a thief. But let us also agree that he is a thief that will not be charged of any cases filed against him because technically he didn't steal anything. Why do you think Vitalik just left the thief alone? He knows he will lose against him. He is losing even now after the hard fork.
11627  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [2016-07-29] BTC-e calls Ethereum Classic ‘scam’ on: July 30, 2016, 03:13:09 AM
must be sweet being btc-e. you don't have to answer to anyone as they'll never know who you are. all of these people making sweeping statements are likely to look pretty dumb when expectations are bucked. they should sit back, serve their customers and shut the hell up.

They need to declare that it is a scam so that they will be in the right when they decide not to serve ETC for their users. As someone said they want all that free coins. But wait for it to get listed at BTC-e and enjoy the hipocrisy. They cannot hold out on the fees of high volume trading with ETC.
11628  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [2016-07-29] themerkle.com| Stampery Drops Forked Ethereum Blockchain Support on: July 29, 2016, 01:25:17 PM
This is the beginning of the end for the fork. The Ethereum foundation developers and Vitalik are holding on with the forked chain because they are paying themselves with the ICO money to do so. Are the slock.it developers part of this payout also? It is a shame how this project turned out.
11629  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Market is not wrong, Vitalik Buterin is. on: July 29, 2016, 01:19:57 PM
Ok let us call him a thief. He is a bad person. Ok. Now whos fault is it that the DAO was poorly coded? Do you think a low dirty thief would not take advantage of this? Of course any smart person would know a thief will find every opportunity to do his job. Now who is at fault that investor's money got stolen?

So ok they tried to fix it by tweaking and tinkering with the transaction history thru the hard fork. After that what happened? ETC was born. Now you all cry in the forum blaming the thief for doing his job well when it is really slock.it developers and Vitalk's fault because they did not do theirs well.

If Vitalik started an antivirus company I will laugh hard.

I think it is much deeper than that.  No complex system of software can be guaranteed to be without a deviation, in border cases, from intend.  People call that "bugs" and "exploits" (depending on whether it happens like this, or is looked for).
As such, no complex smart contract will work as intended, and you can't correct for it, because it is the law, the whole law, and nothing else is the law.  Correcting bugs in a smart contract is essentially breaking the law, which is unheard of in human law.

So in essence, you can forget about the concept of complex smart contracts.  That is what this story told us.

Why did the creators of the DAO say it was safe to put $150,000,000 of ETH in it? Were we warned that there will be bugs or exploits? No. They said it was safe because it went thru a security audit. Who is stupid and at fault here? You know the answer.
11630  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: NO exchange stopped trading ETH, although there is the replay attack on: July 29, 2016, 01:04:13 PM
Coinbase got drained, but are they the only bad coders out there?
I mean, how many exchanges did probably get drained from the replay attacks?
My guess: many and a new dark age might be dawning for crypto

Coinbase got drained? Is this true? How much are their losses and please post the link of the news please. I would like to read more about it.

11632  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: In which alternative Cryptocurrencies should I invest? on: July 29, 2016, 12:44:52 PM
Good luck to you and your crypto jacks. Smiley But the best way to know what altcoin is good is to do your own research and avoid letting others decide for you. That is a fast way to lose all your money.

By also asking that question here prepare for funny and entertaining answers coming from the shills.
11633  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to know legit altcoin that offer legit ICO? on: July 29, 2016, 12:40:39 PM
One way to avoid scams is to know the team behind the ICO. Make sure to ask around who these people are in the cryptosphere. But even if you think they are good developers sometimes they still make stupid mistakes. One good example of this is the slock.it team. They are the ones who created the DAO.
11634  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Good Buy Time For Ethereum Classic on: July 29, 2016, 12:32:06 PM
I was unlucky missed the etc train and also lost so much selling at 100k which i have bought at 130k price.

It is quite risky to trade ETC. You do not know when the DAO hacker will dump his ETC and if he is part of the ETC whales.
He's going to dump this weekend. ETC soon to 0.00.

Source? Seems like this would be shooting himself in the foot, and the guy is obviously a competent trader, that short was a work of art. Why would he supress the price of an asset he is a major holder of, when there is an obvious uptrend in progress? And what books would he even dump on? Polo? I think they would see the incoming deposit and figure out who it is.

It is possible the hacker is involved in the ETC initiation. Otherwise, no other people dare to pump the ETC.

If he did then now we know part of his motivation is to bring The Ethereum fork down. I speculated that his motivation is to destroy Vitalik's Ethereum because the hacker might be a bitcoiner. There is also news that the attacker is Mircea Popescu. He is an oldschool bitcoiner and he is feared by everyone even Vitalik himself.
11635  Economy / Gambling / Re: Been gambling too much so invested 80% of bankroll into crypto games on: July 29, 2016, 06:56:50 AM
So I felt like I've been gambling too much so I invested .12 BTC in crypto-games.net

What are you're guys experience investing at crypto games

I am also thinking about this. My question is how much do you expect to earn with your investment? Also how long do you have to invest with them? Who are the owners of the site. I hope they are trustworthy.
11636  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What should I buy: BTC or ETC? These are the big questions. on: July 29, 2016, 06:52:52 AM
BTC is the only crypto you should ever actually invest in, Any other coin is simply used as a pump and dump scheme. ETH and ETC are no different, these coins aren going to replace bitcoin, people will just buy them so they can sell at a higher price in order to acquire more bitcoin. What ive been wondering though is, is it even worth buying ETC at all? Has the hacker dumped his dao coins on it yet?

I speculate the hacker will not dump in the ETC chain but it will be in the ETH chain. He might be accumulating ETH right now thru the ETC/ETH market available in Poloniex and now Kraken. I also speculate after he dumps the ETH he will use this BTC to buy ETC supporting the original chain. There is now also outside support to the original Ethereum classic from bitcoiners which I think the hacker is one.
11637  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I think Ethereum will be finished after this attack on: July 29, 2016, 06:48:05 AM
Yes. This will not end until one of the chains becomes the only chain. It is in the hands of the miners now. I foresee a mining arms race between the original and the fork in the months to come. Right now the miners of the fork are in the comfortable lead. But they will be in panic once the hash power of the original chain becomes closer and closer to the has power of the fork. This will start the arms race.
11638  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LSK] Lisk | Blockchain Application Platform for JavaScript Developers on: July 29, 2016, 06:41:46 AM
I agree. People should relax and must not get anxious. If you get anxious that will make you dump and then all the other anxious investors will follow and dump also. It will become like a self fulfilling prophecy.
11639  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ARDR][NO ICO] Ardor, or Nxt 2.0, a Scalable Child Chain Platform on: July 29, 2016, 06:38:47 AM
The price made me laugh out loud this morning  Cheesy

Why? Is there a reason why we should be laughing? I think it is still too high to get in at these price. I am still awaiting for it to go down and have a fair bargain before buying.

I kinda expected it to go back down to 2k sat to be honest, not sure if it's gonna get there any time soon.
Also, I am getting about 150 NXT/day forging now, which is awesome

On what basis?

Holding NXT means you get Ardor, the more NXT you hold (the door), the more Ardor you get. This should act to increase demand in NXT, so a falling NXT price right now would not make sense. There may be a sharp fall in price in September running up to the Ardor distribution but they might be counteracted by late comers trying to get in the door through FOMO.

I feel the wider crypto community are ignorant to the Ardor release and many will be waking up as volume increases.

I have pointed out this before that we can use the price of NXT as a barometer to measure the interest in Ardor. If there is not much demand in NXT then we can see that not many people are interested in Ardor. Right now we are seeing that the NXT community got in to buy and hold NXT. We still have not seen outside the NXT community because there is not much chatter in the forum about Ardor. Everyone is busy talking about ETC and before that STEEM.

You are quite right, I believe, regarding price/barometer. But you forget the most important and the determining factor in NXT, since practically the very beginning: The fat wallets owners have one (logical) purpose. One only: To cash in on their holdings as fast (but orderly) as possible. Wouldn't you? They own many millions, tens of millions of it. And they won't be wealthy until they sell, at a decent price, most of their holdings. So the selling pressure is absolutely constant. At any price. And, logically, sucks up every wave of buying. The market doesn't allow for more of what has happened in the last few weeks (much bigger fish to catch) and therefore the price will continue going down... all the way to where it was before the Ardor announcement. No one of the small fish is selling (they are all accumulating ARDR), but the fat wallets are selling as much as they can and as quickly as they can. Like I said, they do it in an orderly fashion to keep the price from nosediving, but the selling is relentless. That was before ARDR and continues now that the influx from current holders have subside. That's how NXT "works".

As for Ardor itself, I have been trying to understand what it is and I believe I have it, finally. It's just a relative small advance in the same already existent technology. I guess what I was hoping for was some kind of actual REAL WORLD use of it. There's none. It isn't a technology that is going to be used by any real company. Any bank. Any retailer. Any exchange. Any country. It is a technology that will be used -as it is already- in the "Asset exchange", which is basically trading between a minimal group of people "assets" of no value or relevance in the real world. Or by chimeric "customers", such as NAUT or the Democracy thing that no country will ever use in the real world. So, again, it is something sold only to the exact same of convinced people with the exact same amount of resources but that is no closer to any mainstream use than it was two and a half years ago. Oh, and yes, the blockchain technology is being pushed in the real world, but it is being pushed (studied, experimented with...) by big REAL companies that will eventually come up with ready-to-implement solutions that will be sold to all the big companies (REAL ones) that are going to implement it.

As for the idea of decentralization... well, let's just say it is never, ever going to happen in the real world. Ever. And for good, evident reasons.

So now I finally understand that all the speak here -and in other boards- is directed at the "cult", not at the real world. But isn't it fun?

I do not know if what you say is true. But if you put it all together it could be precisely why they decided to make the NXT holders be also Ardor holders by snapshot. It will be those same people that will also become Ardor whales. They have definitely and clearly doubled their holdings when the Ardors are all given away.

But I still do not believe in what you are saying without proof.

I wouldn't expect differently from a bbc.reporter, of course. As usual, if you want the truth, just follow the money. I'm not going to do your work for you (although I could).

Then it is all talk. You accuse them of this or that but without the outstanding proof. If you want to make a difference why not show everyone with the corresponding proof? I support Ardor. I read what you post but it is hard to take seriously without the proof. I am sorry.
11640  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LSK] Lisk | Blockchain Application Platform for JavaScript Developers on: July 29, 2016, 06:36:09 AM
Here's a funny idea to help make us all some money.

1) Fake an attack and big theft on LISK
2) Have a hard Fork
3) Keep the old chain alive as LISK Classic
4) We all get free money!

Wow. That suggestion even if it is a joke is making me think that Vitalik and the foundation did keeping the old chain alive on purpose. That is a very dirty trick that only criminal minds will take advantage of.
