There should be other methods to get my account back as I don't like the signing message thing. If the account is not sold after getting hacked, an email address and IP address should be enough proof to prove that it's your account.
11662  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Silk Road Operator Ross Ulbricht to Be Sentenced Today on: May 30, 2015, 06:49:48 PM
For drug smuggling, life sentence or death sentence is the basic punishment given but I can see that the accused has an attempted murder charge as well. 14 years or 20 years would be too less then.

I don't know where I read it but there was someone related to bitcoins who was funding this Silk Road project.
11663  Other / Meta / Re: Very annoying feature on: May 30, 2015, 06:25:14 PM
Glad you have it all sorted out.  Smiley

The "new posts have been posted" feature is so you can update your post accordingly if you are having a discussion with someone and they post new information while you are still writing your post.

Any time you "preview" something you are writing, it is saved to drafts, so if you are writing a long post, make a habit of previewing it from time to time.

I just checked my drafts and found those posts which I hadn't previewed earlier but then I saw this message "Drafts are deleted after 7 days." I was trying to search a draft which I had previewed on 16th May but it's already deleted and it was an important code which I lost. Anyways of getting that draft?
11664  Other / Meta / Re: Btctalk form search is still off... on: May 30, 2015, 05:36:46 PM
I just realized that the search feature has been disabled. May be theymos must be still working on the security issue as it has been just 6 days since the forum is up. We should wait for few more days and check.
11665  Other / Meta / Re: Nominate (insert name here) to the default trust list on: May 30, 2015, 05:19:12 PM
It's high time people stop comparing DF members to Police officers. Such a grave insult to the Police Officers. There are some actions of the officer which everyone has condemned one day or the other but still I respect those officers who are honest and don't just imprison anyone who roams on the streets unlike some DF members who consider all those who aren't in that "so called DF list" as potential scammers. There are officers who have given up their life for my country and those who have even risked their lives. Are we seriously comparing the two?

DF members need to stop scams and make members alert of such potential scammers instead of accusing anyone who disagress with them as scammers. They are misusing their power and this is what I dislike about this system. Too much unity among DF members that they leave each other a +ve trust even without dealing with them and then tag other members as suspicious.

DF members need to be responsible and sensible instead of being rude and harsh. I really hope Theymos and BadBear rethink about the default trust system and only the members whom they trust should be added rather than having 4 depths which includes members and their alts as well. No clue how many *REAL* members are on the default trust list as anyone could have more than 1 account on that list. At least a little moderating is required so that the ratings aren't abused.
11666  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: have 0.80 bitcoins want paypal or or skrill on: May 30, 2015, 12:45:22 PM
I have about $6.86 worth Skrill and am interested in a 1:1 exchange. I will use escrow. If interested, let me know.
11667  Other / Meta / Re: Who is the little bitch who added that POS Quickseller to default trust again? on: May 30, 2015, 12:12:04 PM
QS and Vod: I added you both to my Trust list because you two are very good at identifying scammers. However, to maintain your positions on my list, I ask that you remain as impartial as possible (ie. don't be a Trust Nazi) and flag only those accounts who are clearly up to no good. Vindictive ratings levied out of spite will not be tolerated, mmkay?

That being said, I know I'm guilty of doing it myself in the past, but I've done my best to go back and audit such ratings. TL;DR: Let's not be those cops that throw the book at people for going 1mph over.
Juste a little question from an outsider (I don't really use / need the trust system here): isn't putting conditions to be on your list a kind of (default) trust abuse?
Seems that "because of you" they removed some of theirs feedbacks.. so I don't know what to think now: can I trust people who removed feedbacks just because they were asked to / want to on the default trust list..?

Trust abuse isn't yet defined.

1) Is leaving a person a trusted positive feedback just because the person appears kind via their comments and behavior on the forum (without having an actual trade with the person), considered trust abuse?

2) Is leaving a person a neutral feedback just because the person has been critical of you and doesn't agree with your actions and expresses their opinion (without any evidence that the person is a scammer), considered trust abuse?

3) Is leaving a person a negative feedback because he has appeared rude to you and lied about you (or one has had a fight with someone on the forum), considered trust abuse?
11668  Other / Meta / Re: Nominate (insert name here) to the default trust list on: May 29, 2015, 02:30:23 PM
Your rules:

Rules to be nominated :

10 positive trade streak -
Which means trust score gained by personal grudge/favoritism wont be counted and it's a streak, implying you werent neg'd by someone recently (up to 10 trades in the past)

Minimum Trust Score required : 55
You didnt think 10 was the joining threshold did you ?  Cool

Your trust:

How was your name added? Or did I get something wrong here?

I would nominate MZ in this list as he seems to be a trustworthy member.  Smiley

11669  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTS] Rixty Online Entertainment Card worth $25 for $20 on: May 29, 2015, 01:11:15 PM
If you lower the price ~$17 I would love to buy it.
I think you tired for bump this thread  Grin

Sorry but $17 is too less. I can only offer max 25% discount as it has taken me a long time to reach the minimum threshold  Sad

I'm not tired of bumping this thread as I rarely do it.

11671  Other / Meta / Re: 503 Service Temporarily Unavailable nginx on: May 29, 2015, 10:57:44 AM
I got this error yesterday. First it appeared as a Database Error and then a blank page with the 503 error loaded. It's working too slow after the hack and pages take more than 30 seconds to load.
11672  Other / Meta / Re: Are Forum signatures really useful ? on: May 29, 2015, 09:57:04 AM

I also support your idea, ban the signature campaigns and the problems will be resolved ... at least we can try for 1-2 months and see what will happen. People (that who were banned) are still continuing to create or farm account every single day and I remember a couple of months ago the things were more different than now.

It can be seen in the span of 2 months as a test and I am sure that many would be inactive but the number of spam posts (although trolls will continue trolling) would reduce and account buying and selling would stop.

I don't know when the signature campaigns started but it has given rise to farming accounts and such scams/spams which is a bigger problem and it would slow down the activity as well (but people who are genuinely interested in bitcoins will stay).

Till now these campaigns are allowed because they bring traffic to the forum but there needs to be a solution as well.
11673  Other / Meta / Re: Who is the little bitch who added that POS Quickseller to default trust again? on: May 28, 2015, 07:09:43 PM
Finally one person will stop hounding me from now on.  Cheesy

In any case, the entire DF system is being misused and immature ratings are being left on accounts. So many ratings are due to personal reasons. With the recent changes in the trust system, I can expect Huh ratings for many accounts and the ratings can have the following comments:

"I don't like the avatar of this person. Oversmart person."

"This person openly stated to be Obama himself. Very suspicious."

"He's a psycho. Don't deal with him."

"He called me mad. I call him mad now."

"He is a big fat liar."

"This person is making fun of me and now I am making fun of him."

And positive trust can be as sensible as "I love his hairstyle and hence I trust him."

Continue with such ratings as trust system isn't moderated and people can leave ratings even without any evidence and just spam. It will not benefit the bitcoin community for sure but will give peace to the members who want to personally attack others. I don't know what's the meaning of having a trust system which itself cannot be trusted.

DF now seems to consist of members who are treated as ministers and have the power to rule over the forum and the best thing is that they are appointed without conducting any elections. What can be worse than this?
11674  Local / Marketplace (India) / Re: Flipkart Voucher Needed on: May 28, 2015, 04:52:12 PM
I have a Rs. 400 worth Flipkart voucher. If you are interested in buying the same for an equivalent price in USD, let me know. I will use an escrow.
11675  Other / Meta / Re: Are Forum signatures really useful ? on: May 28, 2015, 04:46:02 PM
If signature campaigns are banned:

1. Accounts won't be bought/sold as people mainly buy farm accounts for signature campaigns.
2. Accounts won't be held as collateral and some members will even stop lending due to this.
3. Members (except scammers) will stop creating new accounts as now their account won't have any value.
4. Activity as well would be affected

I support banning signature campaigns if the first 3 points do take place as I don't support these account sales and find it immoral to farm accounts just to earn few bits.

11678  Other / Meta / Re: The server hack of May 2015 and it's effects on *YOUR* accounts on: May 27, 2015, 05:28:22 PM
The only thing which is affecting me due to the hack is the spam emails I am receiving since May 25th. The number is not huge but since there are now many users who are receiving these spam emails, they also have started sending these spam emails.

I have learnt one thing that when I create a forum account now, I need to choose an email that I never use and a password that I have never used or will never use in my life. I am also deleting any PMs I find contain any sensitive information (if any). Fortunately, I am not that affected by this hack as I don't have any details which if leaked can cause any harm (except the fact that my IP address being leaked can cause any harm to me).
11679  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do people think income tax is ok? on: May 27, 2015, 12:58:53 PM
Corporations derive their money from sales to individuals and other companies. Taxation of corporate profits would simply be passed on, ultimately, to the people. It is a hidden tax.

The only two reasons for taxation of the individual (at least in the U.S.) are:
1. To keep the people helpless;
2: As a measurement of the amount of money the government can borrow from the Federal Reserve Bank.

Rather than paying taxes, drop the tax completely. For example. Texas and several other States require no income tax. Rather, the State gets theirs from sales tax.

If Texas would only make the people who received the benefits to be the ones who paid for the benefits, rather than making everyone join in and pay, things might be more equitable. For example. Why should I pay taxes that help pay other kids way through public school? I get nothing for it if I don't have kids.

Consider roads. Make the people who use the roads pay a toll. Stop making us all pay for roads when we don't use most of them.

Let's get government out of everything except advising. Let's do everything on the private side, because government merely dips their hand into the pie and takes some of it out for themselves. We still have to pay the contractors who build all the whatever anyway.

In addition, if business ran as efficiently as government... well, you don't hear about those businesses, because they failed long ago.

Smiley

I don't think you even need to have a Government for your country as you are enough to run a country with your own knowledge. You pretend to be not using roads, not going to a school, not eating food, not making use of any services that the Government provides you with in return of the taxes you pay.

The taxes may be much more than you can afford but they aren't unnecessary. They all help in the development of a country while if everyone starts thinking like you, all countries would be without schools/colleges/buildings/proper roads/water supplies and I guess you would love that life then. I don't think you have never used any service that you have paid taxes for.
