11681  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Proof of Work Altcoins News and Info. Make Profitable Trades. on: August 25, 2016, 04:10:26 AM
I guess Vcash is hybrid. But why not ETC or ETH or SIA? They're all pure POW with higher volume than XVC or DGB.

Already have ETH and ETC on another thread titled 'ICO Projects and Crypto Platforms News and Info.'  Thread Here

This thread is more for the cryptocurrencies with the more 'old school' feel to it if that makes any sense.  I think they're gonna make a comeback.

I will look into SIA.  Thanks for pointing that out.
11682  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Proof of Work Altcoins News and Info. Make Profitable Trades. on: August 25, 2016, 04:08:00 AM
Why this thread should be only about PoW coins? You don't think that PoS has a future?

I do but that's for another thread.  Actually I have another thread that includes NXT, BTS, etc. in case you didn't notice.  But no PPC and the like though.  But I will look into it.
11683  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Proof of Work Altcoins News and Info. Make Profitable Trades. on: August 25, 2016, 03:48:22 AM
Isn't Vcash PoS? DASH quasi-PoS? And DBG premine shitcoin still on Bitcoin v0.8 codebase?

How did you pick these coins? Names in a hat? Bags you be holding?

I picked the POW cryptocurrencies traded at good, decent volume and liquidity.  In my opinion these are safer to get into especially if you're a newbie in trading.  It would be easier to unload because the market provides the liquidity.

I wasn't aware that Vcash is totally POS.  I might have missed something.  Please feel free to post the info.  That would be really helpful.  Thanks.  As for DASH and DGB, the volume and liquidity is good and decent.  And please keep in mind this thread is not about which altcoin is the most likely to be like Bitcoin.  It's more of a guide or a place where to pick up info to trade in and out of them in order to profit in Bitcoin.

Cool and thanks.  I'll make sure to drop by your Steemit from time to time.  I think I should start using that regularly too.  How easy is it to get followers and upvotes?

With the recent news of Litecoin getting Coinbase's support and Monero being accepted at Alpha Bay and Oasis, two of the more popular Darknet Market places, I think there could be a revival of the 'old school' type POW coins on 2017.  I for one thought it's the time of Smart Contracts and '2.0' Platforms making the old school coins irrelevant.  I was wrong.  LTC and XMR has proven that POW coins can still be relevant, useful and in some ways even better.

I picked the ones with good, decent volume and liquidity as those are the ones I would recommend a newbie in crypto get into.

Enjoy the thread and please post some of the coins that you think should be on the list.

(I made the thread self moderated to avoid making it a mudslinging war between camps.)

in last two match liverpool always play away , and the next one are away too. i might see this is as a reason why they play so bad and unconsistently , they need a full support from fans that could boost their fighting spirit. i still wish liverpool back to the big four with jurgen klopp this season or klopp really must not given time anymore to build a kingdom at liverpool.

That dream is long gone and now liverpool should be happy if they can even move in to the europa league zone. There is still alot of things that klopp needs to maintain and the most crucial thing is to sign a new goalkeeper and I got the news that they are going to sign joe hart soon from manchester city

That would be awesome.  I would LOVE to see Joe Hart at Liverpool.  More so than at Everton where he is also rumored to be going.  I feel bad for him, all these years at City and he became the second (now third with Bravo in) choice keeper when Pep came in.  I wonder what happened.  Does anyone have any news or rumors why Pep favors Caballero over Hart at the pre season and beginning of the season?

My friend told me that Hart offered Pep some shampoo for Pep in the locker room and then Pep didn't find it amusing.  Cheesy

head to head both teams had always creates a lot of goals. but last season's results always ended draw 0-0 and 1-1.
then if you see two games of tottenham are minimal goal, could only score one goal every game.
but I'm sure when later Liverpool vs Tottenham, very likely the result will both teams to score.

Considering that liverpool done a good job against burton in their last game, they should be able to win the game especially that they will be playing in anfield which means that In response to their offensive gameplay, tottenham wont be defending therefore the chance for both team to score should be quite high.

They're not playing at Anfield.  This is another away game for Liverpool, that's why I think they will lose this weekend.  They are playing three straight away games including vs Spurs this weekend, then there's training in between.  We know Klopp's training puts much more strain on his players due to its high intensity.  Plus there's Liverpool's atrocious defending in their last EPL games.  I'm sure Pochettino will look to capitalize on that.
11688  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: E-Sport Prediction , share your prediction here on: August 24, 2016, 01:48:14 PM
I heard that SC/BW will be remade into Brood War HD.  It's basically the same game but with an improved UI and HD quality.  It will still be 2D and I hope Blizzard won't change a thing with the gameplay.  It is perfect as is in terms of that.  Maybe a little tweaks in the balancing of the three races every now and then to make it less stale and more interesting.

Do you think this will make a comeback in the tournament scene?
11689  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC on FOX 21: Maia vs. Condit Info and Prediction Thread on: August 24, 2016, 01:41:44 PM
The favorite is actually Condit.  The lines opened with both of them at even money then the money went coming in at Condit.  I think I'll just a prop here.  This fight will go the distance prop looks good to me.

West Ham want Manchester City striker Wilfried Bony - Sky sources

West Ham want to sign Wilfried Bony from Manchester City, Sky sources understand.

The 27-year-old Ivory Coast international striker is one of a number of players available for sale from the Etihad this summer.

The Hammers have been desperate to sign a striker all summer and have missed out on the likes of Michy Batshuayi, Christian Benteke and Carlos Bacca.

It seems with nolito now on their squad, they no longer need wilfried bony. Bony was quite good last season although he fails to impress the fans and pep is a strict coach, no way that he is letting bony stay on the team when he doesnt even let joe hart stay on the team. The player will have a higher burden with this policy

I disagree, Bony is ok but he's not really that good.  I think Dzeko was way better than him at City.  I was wondering why they sold him and got Bony.
duo andy carrol and wilfried bony at west ham would be great and could make them as the best mediocre team with payet in the middle , there's no reason for bony to stay at manchester city if pep guardiola always make him as third choice after nolito. move to west ham have a better chance to play more often for him.

Oh for sure.  I would love to see Bony go play for Westham.  It's just sometimes the newspaper articles praise Bony too much as if he's really that good but in truth he isn't as good as they make him appear to be.  Dzeko was better in my opinion.

But yeah, Bony needs to leave so he could play first squad football every week.
11691  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: August 24, 2016, 01:14:32 PM
Burton Albion vs Liverpool, and Liverpool win big score with 5 goals, after this win I hope Liverpool also win with Tottenham Hotspur this week.

I cant believe this, they actually won the game and even more with a cleansheet. What you are expecting from liverpool that even lose to burnley, they won with 5 goals and that beats me up. I  expected them to win however not with 5 goals and a cleansheet, thought that the score will somewhat be 1-2
always good when place a bet on big teams that have a bad performance in the previous match and have an away game against weaker team like what liverpool did , as we all know liverpool lost previously and yesterday play on away against weaker team and they destroy them 0-5 without conceded , i personally just placed liverpool -1.75 handicap @1.7 , nice odds isn't it?
indeed nobody suspected I thought after Liverpool lost 2-0, but this time they could win 5-0.
Let's see when Liverpool against Tottenham and play away. This will be difficult to predict. but I would put both teams to score.

My money is on Tottenham.  Liverpool has played Burley away last weekend, Burton Albion away last night then Tottenham away this weekend.  Then there's probably training in between.  Their squad must be a bit tired.

I also like Watford vs Arsenal over 2.5 goals.  So yeah, those would be my two bets that I would most likely bet on.

Hey guys, just posting a video to get you excited somehow.  I know this isn't as good as UFC 202 but it's good enough for me.  My pick for the main event:  Condit.  I think he'll try to get it done early as Maia is a slow starter.  And he's 37 years old, so I don't see how he can edge out someone like Condit.

Nope BTS is not abandoned.  It's now running Graphene that's developed by Cryptonomex and is now dubbed as 'Bitshares 2.0'.  The platform has been upgraded but the stake distribution has not been changed.  So BTS is Bitshares 2.0 in case you really didn't get it.

If you're not into Lisk yet and you're looking to buy, don't.  There's a whale setting up huge sell walls to disrupt trading.  Whatever his motivations are it's not good for the price overall.  That's funny because wouldn't that make his holdings less valuable?
11696  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should we invest ICO? How to know that this Coins ICO is Scam? on: August 23, 2016, 01:37:09 PM
I don't buy ICOs as the risk is very high. I would rather pay a premium to buy the coin in the open market.
At least, I can assess the coin to see if it is worth investing. ICOs is risky as you are buying with your eyes closed.

Yeah and even then it's still risky.  Check out the orderbook of Lisk right now.  Some whale is putting a huge sell wall making people dump their LSK.  It's very irresponsible of the whale.

11698  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XMR] rpietila Monero Economics thread on: August 23, 2016, 01:50:49 AM
I worry that poloniex is too centralized as an exchange for monero.

There needs to be more exchanges or more usage with decentralized exchanges.  Undecided

I was thinking, would it be possible for a Dark Net exchange for crypto? Would that idea fly? Is there that many Dark Net traders/merchants and buyers to support a healthy Dark market for trading?  Laundering their money cheaply would be their key motivation here.  Son instead of using BTC as the base currency, it would be XMR.  So everyone dealing with BTC would want to trade for XMR in the Dark Net for better anonymity.

And I totally agree with Jasad, they need to sign an experienced CB and a prolific striker.  I think part of the problem is no striker would want to play at Arsenal.  Is there a lack of ambition in the club?

It seems that it is well known to the players that arsenal doeant seem to have any ambition to win. Spending huge amount of money is a sign that the club is serious about winning therefore a team like arsenal which still use the old way of trying not to spend too much is out of the league compared to the other

The 'old way' is gone now.  This is a time where clubs must spend huge sums of money to win.  And if clubs keep winning, they will have more revenue making them have the ability to again spend huge sums of money.  It's now a business first and a football club second.  And it makes sense because you need to make money to be able to spend money and vice versa.  So if Arsenal doesn't make it to top4, no CL football means smaller revenue for them.  And that means smaller budget for transfer signings.  But Arsenal has saved a lot making their warchest big enough to last them two transfer windows if they decide to spend big.

But bottom line for me, Arsene Wenger must go.
