Bitcoin is energy intensive because for now it's the only way to secure the network.
Other coins, which have different proposals, such as ethereum, will soon move to less energy intensive methods
As I only heard antonopoulos saying, maybe the world can't handle more than one big PoW cryptocurrency . Not all cryptocurrencies need to be using pow. But bitcoin needs now.

Those small additions are certainly good for bitcoin adoption. No, they aren't. How exactly is this gonna help bitcoin adoption? This is just a "comestic" thing that doesn't change anything other than instead of typing "bitcoin" you're now gonna type " BTC". Of course it helps. People will look at BTC and ask "what is this?" I search about it. Or they will think " so this is bitcoin symbol. Google is supporting it? Let me check it out"

Nice analysis ddmr. Beginners and help board is one of my favorites. It's a board where even not bitcoin directly related topics are welcome, and everyone is free to post or ask different kinds of informations. Certainly a place where new users can learn. Merits have never been easier to earn on the Beginners & Help board, with nearly double amount of what was awarded during most months in 2018, and the fact that there are many less people active on the forum in general.
I really noticed this too. We have less topics and more circulating merits.

It would be great to be able to wirte Bitcoin symbol in a keyboard easily. I use a Motorola Android and I cannot see bitcoin symbol in the keyboard as well, as many already mentioned

I really hate this "Satoshi Hunt" type things, why don't you guys respect his/her/their privacy?
The worse is to see someone like this faketoshi claiming to be Satoshi. Satoshi hidden identity is one of the pillars of Bitcoin decentralization. Everything would be centralized on Satoshi, like it is in Vitalik's blockchain. I am convinced he will never be found.

This bitcointalk.to is really dangerous. The site looks the same.
What I do is to use Bitcointalk only in trusted devices, and I use the option"always logged in", so I don't need to login again. When I visit this Bitcointalk.to I see that I am not logged in, so I easily identify the phishing.

Congratulations. I saw your reputation growing up in the forum, and it was quite impressive.
There are many ways to create a reputation here. I saw you focused on exposing scammers, which is a very helpful attitude.
Not everyone is inclined towards exposing scammers. Others users focused on different topics and may also create a reputation here. Merits are just a consequence of a growing reputation.
Others users focus on statistics, technical discussions, etc... All ways are valid, as long as you do it well.

Nobody knows. Historically bitcoin has always recovered from big crashes
Bitcoin already crashed from $32 to $2 From 1000 to 100 and so on.
There are no guarantees, and the best advice is "invest what you can afford to lose"

BitTorrent is somehow an inspiration for bitcoin. It's a decentralized file sharing service, which is very interesting and have many similarities to ethereum and bitcoin. It was recently bought by tron, so the company philosophy may change now, this is why Vitalik may have changed his mind about it.

To be honest, none of us knew exactly what Etheruem was trying to do. The market has made some pricing considering that a good thing will come, but the explanations so far were always superficial.
It is not possible to understand where this fork process is going. But I still think Ethereum is far below the price it should have been. It deserves higher levels.
Ethereum has a very clear roadmap, many documents made by Vitalik explaining what are all ethereum forks and upgrades, and now you say that "nobody knew what was ethereum trying to do"? Constantinople is an expected upgrades to allow POS implementation in a near future

Self moderated threads are terrible. I don't post in those threads anymore, unless I know the user and I believe he is not an asshole.
I got many good replies of mine deleted in those threads .

So before click "allow" please read it carefully. Don't install any software from unknown source if you don't know about it.
This is one of the most important habits everyone should have online. Especially people involved with cryptocurrencies. I always check the site certificate, and if I have any doubts I try to check in Reddit/medium etc for confirmations about what is the official website of the program I want to download.

I just can't use this forum without it now. I don't use telegram, but I created a thread for my notifications, where I receive them Everytime I am quoted or mentioned. It really helps in communication. Great job done by piggy

You are the one looking stupid, as this link you sent doesn't say they are enforcing kyc. Just that they made a partnership to do kyc (which they already do if you want to withdrawal more handsome 2 BTC). Send a real link or screenshot or whatever, otherwise nobody will believe you. I use binance and they never asked me kyc. I am interested if what you are saying is true, but it really doesn't looks like the case.

Just logged there and I can clearly see I have 2 BTC withdrawal limit. Did you try to withdrawal?
I used to trust this exchange... Let's see how this goes... At least there are plenty of options in the market if they decide to force kyc

|

I don't know about thes restrictions. However binance doesn't require kyc, so it will be easily bypassed as long as you don't do kyc
Maybe a VPN may be needed as well if you can't log in.
Wrong, Binance started enforcing KYC on everyone since last few months. This is not correct. Kyc on binance is not compulsory and you can withdrawal 2 BTC without any kyc. It's only compulsory if you have more than 2 BTC there.

The worst is when you want to recover your losses. When you are in a bad luck and are not having fun anymore, just give it a break. Withdrawal your money, accept your loss and come back some other day to have more fun.
Don't try to get back the money you lost, or you will end up losing more (probably)
Well, in most cases the people behave opposite to this. When they lose a game in gambling, they eagerly wanted to cover the loss. So they bring more money in gambling with the hope that this time they will win and their loses will be recovered, but then again it does not happen and they again lose. If this happens repeatedly, one can lose a big amount of money in gambling. Yeah, I know people behave opposite to this. I did the opposite as well, and learned the hard way. It is possible to make money through gambling. It's hard, but possible. But for me it's just for fun now
