11681  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Georgia Becomes First Country to Register Property on Blockchain on: February 12, 2017, 03:05:04 PM
From my twitter feed:

Georgia Becomes First Country to Register Property on Blockchain

On Tuesday, in Tbilisi, the government of Georgia signed an agreement to use the Bitcoin Blockchain to verify property transactions.

Last April, the Georgian government and Bitcoin company BitFury initiated a project to record land titles on the Blockchain.

This is the first time a national government is using the Blockchain to safeguard and authenticate state operations, therefore ushering in a belief in the technology that has wrongfully been painted black.

11682  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: lucky ! does it influences by a woman beside of us? on: February 12, 2017, 01:05:46 PM
Well for me bringing my (ex-girlfriend) wife has its advantage. For one,
if I'm on a unlucky streak she will call my attention so that I will stop.
Because sometimes my emotions take over me and my decision are
clouded and I don't know when to stop.

However, since she is a gambler as well, so if we both gamble at the
same time and both of us lost we go home empty handed.
But in instance that we both won big then going home feels great.
There are also instance that one of us either win so we go home
either on the loosing or winning end.

11683  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: anyone who know "cointelegraph.com" on: February 12, 2017, 11:29:10 AM

recently we find some news media to post an article or advertising.

I saw this site which is great, black chain they talk more about blackchain bitcoin and so on.

i would like to know what do you think of this news media

Cointelegraph.com is a good source of bitcoin news I'm also a
subscribing on this website. Although this site has a high
Alexa rating, this site uses an anonymous services, which
a lot of scam website owners are using as well to hide their true identity.
If you really want to advertise in this website, just go in
their about page and contact their advertising team.
Another thing I like in to check in this website is that their have a scam/fraud review
11684  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Scam indicators? on: February 12, 2017, 10:00:28 AM
Being scammed in one way or another seems inevitable, what are the clear indicators that a legit-looking service is actually a big scam of some sorts? Is this forum a good place for info to detect a fraudulent scheme?

it is actually easily evitable! you just have to use your brain and think before taking actions.
in my 30 years or so I have never been scammed, and never lose any money ever. and in the past 3-4 years that I have been using bitcoin I have never lost a single satoshi apart from gambling which is understandable.

the first rule is not trusting something that looks too good to be true. as simple as that.

second rule is doing extensive research about that "legit-looking-service". you can use the forum or google to search for all these things and find out what others have to say. and in the end it is up to you to find out if there is any shady business going on behind the scenes that nobody saw before.

Yes. I agree with your First Rule. There's a lot of investment site that says it
will give you a return of 100%-130% in 5 days. I giggle and LOL when I
always see sites that promise that kinds of return. Recently, I joined a whatsapp
group of a new investment site just to see how this will pan out, so initially
it was giving investors returns to some of them are re-investing but guess what,
the site went offline and says they are doing some maintenance but unfortunately
it was too late for a lot of people it was a scam!!!. The "legit looking website"
is still up and still scamming as of now.

11685  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor from eBay, trustable? on: February 12, 2017, 06:37:04 AM
If you want to save money, you can always chose another option like paper wallets.

This! True crypto doesn't require any hardware at all. It's pure math.
(just keep an eye on partially sendings, missing return adresses)

Regarding a used Trezor for daily useage I believe it is totally secure. Reflash it, take a closeup look of the casing. Has it been opened?
The attack surface of those devices is really small. I would be more worried about other portable devices like dedicated cellphone since they arrive backdoored by manufactorer, or get a fresh backdoor upgraded via wireless update. Stealing data from phones seems to be common practise, everybody is trying that.
They got invented for stealing data.

Thanks!
So it seems I can be more secure if I use the second hand Trezor like a hot wallet and a brand new for bigger amonunt and forget about web based mobile wallets...

Something else:
I had a look at the official shop of Trezor (https://shop.trezor.io)
It seems that they're out of stock now (every colour)
I had a look at amazon too, but the price is double (!) compared to the official shop...
on trezor.io, you can get $99 + shipping, on amazon, it's nearly $200
Seems I should wait for the official shop, they estimate the delivery for March 2017...
(it seems that there's no Trezor on ebay at the moment...)

Just keep us updated if you buy a second hand Trezor for testing purpose only
but I don't have the luxury to get one now Smiley They are probably out of stock
because they will be releasing Trezor 2 with Trezor Core:

TREZOR Core includes a micropython interpreter enabling community programmers to write the code in a beginner-friendly Python language. This new software stack will allow developers to flash their own firmware with their own header and welcome screen.

Here's the official blog:

11686  Economy / Economics / Re: Physical or Paper Gold? Why? on: February 12, 2017, 04:55:05 AM
Paper gold is just like a banknote.

I think this can be debated..  A banknote is backed by the full faith and credit of the government that sponsors, issues it. Paper gold is backed by the the assets the company issuing the gold investment has. Depending on your perspective you might trust the business more so than the government.

Physical gold has been valuable for thousands of years paper gold is a new invention and is easily manipulated by central bankers.

And this guy, no offense, doesn't really know what they're talking about. Paper gold isn't a "new invention" it's just shares in a fund that only owns gold. The idea is as novel as owning stock...which has existed for over 100 years.

Think about it this way - the companies offering gold investments (i.e., paper gold), have more to lose by scamming their customers than they do by actually scamming their customers.

Paper gold just like a piece of paper similar to stocks as you describe. The investor
also does not have a promise that they will ever hold the rights to any physical gold.
the OP trade on paper gold, good for you so you are probably profiting (or loosing)
on price swings. However, I think holding a physical gold has its advantage as well.
If you invest in this physical metal as oppose to paper, in case of a disaster like
currency crisis, economic disaster or financial system breakdown, then holding
a physical gold stored in vault is a good leverage IMHO.

11687  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: BitCoin - Where is it illegal ? on: February 11, 2017, 03:23:30 PM
Hello !

I know for example that in Russia, Bitcoin is now considered as illegal since few months.

And I just want to know if someone can give me (give me a website link) where is an exhaustive country-list about  whether this money is legal or not ?
I did not find it on Internet ...

Thanks in advance !

I know Russia backtracked its ban on bitcoin. Though I'm not really sure.

Link: https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/top-10-countries-bitcoin-banned/

Also, I don't know if the list is updated or not. I see India and China in the list,
I know bitcoin is not ban in those countries, they are just being regulated right now.
11688  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How people can have so much BTC in their wallet? on: February 11, 2017, 02:04:16 PM
Well, i so curious how can people have so much BTC in their wallet.

I saw on gambling website if they have 10+ BTC, and i found people who say he have 30+ BTC in their wallet.
So how people can have BTC so much? are they buy some bitcoin and invest it or win from gambling with or without do deposit?

Sorry for this, i want have a lot bitcoin so i want to ask this as newbie . Thank you.

*sorry if my english is bad.

Maybe the one you saw in the gambling site with 10+ bitcoin won the jackpot or something.

There's one guy who won 11K bitcoins on a bitcoin gambling site. Check the URL below.

https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/biggest-winners-losers-bitcoin-gambling/

So it's possible for you to earn more bitcoin. But how to earn it is a different way.
If you are in gambling, risk are high but not impossible.
11689  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can you beat the house edge on: February 11, 2017, 12:15:48 PM
Can't you beat the house edge? Today, with all these Bitcoin casinos and dices, I think it would be possible to beat small house edge with like 1%.
I always deposit small amount on site and when I make it to a good balance I withdraw, then I play with faucet and loose till the next deposit.
Can you share your experience with the gambling?

That's why they called it an edge because even though its 1% the possibility
of beating it is impossible. Maybe you can have "strategy" on how to profit
just like you mentioned. I also used faucet as well and other offers or
promotions, its a free shot at the jackpot.
Beating the house is impossible, but you can take advantage by withdrawing
and quitting while you are still ahead.

11690  Other / Politics & Society / Re: War btw USA and Iran! on: February 11, 2017, 10:24:21 AM
The last problem between the two countries is going to be the warning for the missle testing that the Iranians did, the testing is only just dumb and I feel the Iranians are really just doing it to see how the new administration (Trump administration) is going to deal with problems like this. They've get their result which is them being put "on notice" from Flynn and Trump.

But lets just say war ever broke out between the two, USA would without a doubt pummel all of Iran without problem within a week or two. The two nations can't even compare when it comes to military tech and strength.

Here's the article on Iran being put on watch, it's a tough read but I'm not a big fan of the source - https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/2768791/donald-trump-iran-on-notice-missile-test/

The collapse of the nuclear deal between the 2 side will most like not result in a war.
However, I believe that their are other issues between Washington and Tehran that
will more likely result in war. Israel for one. We all know that Iran is opposed towards
Israel. And US backs Israel. But if ever the war broke, US/Israel will win against
Iran even without the backing of NATO.

11691  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: can bitcoin / eth change pharmaceutical prices? on: February 11, 2017, 09:31:25 AM
No, bitcoin can't change the price of pharmaceutical or medicines.

Maybe the price in US is high because they are covered by their health insurance company.
While in India, perhaps consumers are not covered by it. Another is the patent law.
We all know that US is very strict in issuing a patent so maybe the pharmaceutical
company wants to regain the money they spent in applying and researching the new
drug and getting a patent so they charge high prices for releasing it in the market.
11692  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Optimist: January 2017, Recap — “With Clarity, Comes Stability” on: February 11, 2017, 08:25:59 AM
Hello Bitcointalk. The Bitcoin Optimist has released the first monthly publication and encourages you to read it by clicking on the link below. If you have any comments, suggestions, ideas, critiques, I'm all ears. Hope you enjoy.

https://medium.com/@bitcoinoptimist/bitcoin-optimist-january-2017-recap-with-clarity-comes-stability-ca239e2fcd82#.d00e6oj39

It seems the optimists has good intentions but I wouldn't be overly joyful until this intentions yield results. It could be a propaganda to promote himself or his website and what have you. So for me I want the optimist to promote thus vision for all to see it work.

Of course he want to promote it and that's why he put this website.
He has good intentions, he's doing a summary on whats going on the
bitcoin world every month so thats already a huge job for himself and
will benefit the community by going to his website.

For the month of Feb, its been like more than a week already by here's
a few worth mentioning on your website.

a) Bitcoin Price Crashes as Chinese Exchanges OkCoin & Huobi Pause Withdrawal
b) Philippine Central Bank sets out policies for bitcoin exchanges

How about adding a review trading bot on your website? or
a review of HYIP which is scam or not? No? too much to ask? Grin

Goodluck on your new website!!!

11693  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In Europe, bank transfers are free and unlimited for all on: February 11, 2017, 06:43:26 AM
Just based upon fee, the goodness of the banking along with bitcoin cannot be compared. Bitcoin is an evolution in the technology advancement which has evolved as a payment gateway and soon after this got used in transaction purpose which got the attention of users to make bitcoin the potential alternative to banking and become the best.

Agreed. They even can co-exist with each other. But if bitcoin is
use as an alternative government currency and be embrace globally,
fee's should be minimal to an extend.

As I have said before, bitcoin is used for micro-transactions,
but if there's a huge backlog of transactions and the only
way is to increase the fee's so that your transaction will
be "prioritize, then how can you do online business with that?
11694  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Best Hardware Wallet on: February 11, 2017, 06:01:15 AM
what's your opinion on ledger blue?
Its a littttttttttllllleeee expensive when comparing with nano S and trezor...

I'm willing to buy a hardware wallet too but don't know what to do... trezor 2 will be available when? is it worth buying trezor 1?

They are shooting for Q2/2017 as far as I know for the Trezor 2. I guess it depends on how soon you want the Trezor on whether its worth it to wait for the Trezor 2. I'd personally probably wait for the release of Trezor 2.

Yes, just wait for the Trezor 2 release than buying Trezor 1.
It will be worth the wait as other features are being introduced
like faster processor, a micro-SD card and a feature they
called Trezor Core.

11695  Economy / Economics / Re: Philippine Central Bank sets out policies for bitcoin exchanges on: February 10, 2017, 03:42:28 PM
Do we have a list of the Philippines Local exchanges? I know only 1 which is
coins.ph and I think they have a official thread here. I also checked there
blog.

How will my Coins.ph account be affected by this new regulation?

Coins.ph has long believed that the Blockchain has tremendous potential to help pave the way for a financially inclusive future and that a clear regulatory environment that promotes both innovation and accountability is a necessary step forward. As such, we welcome this new development as it both recognizes the potential of the technology and also sets standards that need to be met by the players in this industry.
Over the past few years, Coins.ph has taken great effort to build a strong compliance program, including obtaining BSP registration as a Remittance Agent in advance of the new regulation, and implementation of a strict KYC and Anti-Money Laundering program. Fortunately, this means we can expect fairly minimal effect to our operations, as we continue to uphold the same stringent KYC & AML practices we have held so far.

The reason I'm asking is that I want to know if other local exchanges are complying
in this BSP circular. And it only said that who do not meet the requirements will face
fines and get their permits cancelled. But it didn't mentioned about how big is the fine
is. I also want to see how the local Central Bank is strict in implementing this circular.
Maybe other Asian countries are looking at how the Philippines will implement it and
perhaps will follow suit as well.

11696  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Is coinbase a safe wallet on: February 10, 2017, 02:28:09 PM
coinbase is safe because high security support 2fa
but not full safe, because coinbase not support private key, if coinbase service close or gone, you can do it anyhing and bitcoin balance is gone too

Yes agree, I am user of coinbase about 2 years, and until now have never found a problem. Certainly by activating 2FA is the best solution to increase security, but we must be aware that the web wallet is not secure 100%, so coinbase I use to store  bitcoin no more than 10 btc.

I'm not a coinbase user but by the looks of it, it a safe on-line wallet for everyone.
For security purpose, I believe its the individual responsibility to secure whatever
wallet she/he has. If you are storing huge amount of bitcoins in coinbase, its
your responsibility to take security precautions specially when you are using
computer or phones to access once account.

Activating 2FA is an added security measures to protect yourself, although
recently hackers has found a way to bypass it as well.

11698  Economy / Speculation / Bitcoin Price Crashes as Chinese Exchanges OkCoin & Huobi Pause Withdrawal on: February 10, 2017, 07:23:28 AM

11699  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-02-04] Almost $1 Billion Worth of Bitcoins Stuck in Transaction Backlog on: February 10, 2017, 06:36:35 AM
Then, bitcoin can't develop even farther to mass adoption, that will be ridiculous if someone wants to send/pay a cup of coffee worth $5 and he has to pay another $5. I agree that bitcoin fees shouldn't be higher than $0.1 or $1 depends on how much the transaction.
Anyway, we should add suitable fee for every transaction as wallet platforms already estimate it.

Bitcoin will surely be able to grow and possibly enjoy mass adoption, but not so much in the aspect of spending your coins on certain goods. Bitcoin's growth will come from people being interested in the store of value aspect, investment aspect, money transfer aspect, fact that people can anjoy financial freedom, etc. I think these features are more than enough to attract the attention of plenty of people in the coming years. As it is right now there is indeed no other option than to include proper fees with all our transactions. If certain people are really that stingy, then depending on the priority of getting their transaction confirmed, they could include a lower fee.

I felt so frustated with the recent transaction backlog that's been going
on for the past couple of weeks now. But how will bitcoin, being promoted
as a cheap payment method alternatives for doing micro-transaction?
How will it reach mass adoption with the current situation?

Others might shy away and will not use bitcoin as alternative payment.

Though I'm still clinging on hope that it will be mass adopted and enjoy by a lot of people globally!!!

11700  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: what is the best way to mine BTC? on: February 10, 2017, 04:27:35 AM
just wanna ask if there are any possible techniques in gaining satoshis or bitcoins?

Bitcoin mining is getting quite expensive right now.
If you are planning to do a solo mining, I think its
not worth the time and money, you will just earn
a few penny so yields are not good.

If you are planning to have like a mining farm,
you need to be ready to have a lot of money to
invest and time. You need to buy specialized hardware
design to mine bitcoin.

There are a lot of possible ways to earn bitcoin. For starters you may want:
to look at the following threads:

There's a lot who is offering just as simple sign up and you
will be paid in bitcoin.

you are interested. Hope this helps!!!
