11721  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you login to a gambling site with Twitter, Google or Facebook Id? on: February 06, 2017, 09:14:03 AM
Everyone so far seems to have given the expected response Smiley

I wouldn't use it either but there are benefits to it.

You don't have to trust sites to store and secure your password. In the event they do not properly secure your passwords a hack or database leak could mean your password is public and can be used to login to other sites where you have used the same password. But you should be using a different one for each site anyway Wink
Using login via Facebook etc means that is not a problem. There is no password to leak.

A site could also set it up in a way where they do not record your name or personal info from the details retrieved from your social media profile. Just your user Id. Though you would be trusting a site not to do this.

A site could aslo setup the login system on a non gambling or bitcoin related domain so that Facebook etc don't know you are logging in to a gamvling site. Sure they could figure out eventually though.

A player could also create fake Facebook account to use for password but then if they are going to go to the hassle of doing that then they probably are the type to use fake email and unique passwords etc.

I was just curious as I was writing an OAuth login system at the moment and wondered if this is a feature to add or not.
As simple as it is to do so it probably is a bad idea and could even put some people off using a site.

Agreed everything you said except that the third party we are talking about is a gambling site.
That's why a lot of people here are hesitant to use their social media accounts to login to.

Personally, I will used my social media accounts to login to a gambling site to play, and once
I'm done with playing in the gambling site, To keep privacy and security, I will simply
"Revoke my access to those sites.

11723  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do small investments make sense? on: February 06, 2017, 02:50:31 AM
When we think about investments we imagine investors with big sums of money, so for btc casino it would be 1 or more btc, for instance. However, the minimum amount you can invest is usually 0.01btc which is only 10$. Do you think such investments are profitable but you earn small sums or maybe they don't make sense at all? Can someone explain it to me?

Investing small amount of money is a wasting of time for me since it'll grow very slow. It's better to use that money for other things like gambling. We can have fun and a chance to turn it into good money in a fast way.

I dont agree with you, because even small investment are good on long term because atleast you are earning some from the investment but if you go for gambling then their are full chances of loosing everything.

Small investment gives you small profit but in long term you can see good returns.

Small investment = Small Risk = Small Return
But at least you are making an important steps towards your goals
and to some extend make you understand how investment work early on.

So for me, definitely worth your time and money to start investing small.
11724  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Investing in casinos on: February 06, 2017, 02:33:18 AM
Investing in a casino can be a good idea as I'm sure lots of people here have made good profits doing so. I personally wouldn't do it though as I've seen many stories where casino owners have run away with investors funds & closed the site.

I think it's pot luck if you get a good site that is trustworthy.

You may want to look at this thread:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1585408.0

This is a group of people who make investments in gambling site.
The plan is to investment on those sites for 1 Year.
You may want to follow that thread so see how it goes and
then decide for yourself whether to invest in casino or not. GoodLuck!!!

Week 26 is here!

Worth noting we have now added YOLOdice to our investments! We took 1 Bitcoin out of Crypto-Games and Invested it in YOLOdice.

Worth noting that we did it at 10x leverage which is very big, so we expect the returns to be a bumpy ride!

If you have never heard of YOLOdice you can read our review here:

http://bitcoingamblingreviews.com/yolodice/

We also made a video reviewing their site here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xq9NUITM4Wg

So here is the latest graph and table of current investments:

Impressive investments specially in gambling!!! It really shows that taking a risk
is paying off in the long run. Perhaps others right now are following this "blueprint"
you put here on how to invest in gambling.

I think Yolodice is a good addition. Its been put up like a month or less than so
investing in them early is a good move.

What's your plan after 6 month btw?, You guys going to bankroll your yields
and re-investment, or moving to a new market?

11726  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Klitschko vs Josua Info and predictions on: February 05, 2017, 03:50:48 AM
Draw is possible in boxing?

Yes, draw is possible in 2 situations:

1) The draw happens in the decision. This means judges give a 50/50 decission. It's a draw.

2) This is the crazy one: Double KO. Both boxers punch themselves hard at the same time, they fall at the floor and none of them can stand up again. Im not sure if this has ever happened in profesional boxing. It probably happened but its ultra rare.
Double KO is a rare feat and it has happened long back during a match against Ad Wolgast v Joe Rivers for the lightweight title both knocked them out but the referee helped Wolgast to his feet and counted River out and that was the most controversial decisions in boxing history.I have seen some amateur double KO videos in MMA and boxing in youtube which are really funny. Smiley

That's pretty crazy. One of the most controversial split decisions ever happened very recently. Adrien Ward vs Sergey Kovalev. Kovalev clearly won, but the judges gave Ward a win. I was shocked, and so I pissed off since I lost money. Those fucking American judges need to be fired.

I also lost that night. Ward was down in Round 1, unfortunately he lost.
Scores were 114-113, 114-113, 114-113, But I think is a unanimous decision not split decision.
Anyways, their is a rematch clause so I'm still betting on Kovalev if the fight happens.
11727  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Starting sports betting on: February 05, 2017, 03:32:35 AM
I was lucky I was brought up loving embracing sports. I remember my father
talking about how Ali has fast hands and other greats. So I feel in love with
boxing right away. Then when I'm growing up, basketball and recently football
and live racing as well. So those are few sports that I put up a bet if I have
money to gamble.

11729  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Who to blame for the increasing transaction fee? on: February 05, 2017, 03:14:55 AM
We all know that recently, a huge backlog of transaction of at least 50,000 at any point of time.
And one of the solution is to increase the transaction fee. Which defeat the purpose of micro-transaction
with bitcoin.

Is this the miners fault alone? Who do you think need to step up  to stop this madness
of increasing transaction fees?

What's your thought about it?
11730  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Speeding up Bitcoin Transaction Confirmation Times on: February 05, 2017, 03:06:49 AM
I think increasing transaction fee will hurt bitcoin in the long run.
I'm feeling now the fee will continue to increase which will defeat the
purpose with using bitcoin, faster and easier micro-transaction. But now,
the growing mining fee will not be fit for small transactions. I think
someone will need to step up, bitcoin dev or core team, otherwise
we will look for other option much cheaper transaction fees.
11731  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Frustrates You Most When Using Bitcoin? on: February 05, 2017, 02:51:37 AM
What frustrates me currently with bitcoin is the fee and the unconfirmed transactions.
I experience 24 hrs or more recently, I understand it because of the massive transactions
that is going on but if I need the bitcoin to pay someone or receive one, I have to wait
which sometimes put a stress on my relationship on the one that I should be paying
because he thinks that I will not pay him.
11732  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Let's talk about poker! on: February 04, 2017, 08:54:22 AM
Is poker a game of skill, or a game of chance? Many times asked question, no one can agree on what a game of poker is. There is studies and court decisions regarding the skill / chance debate, there is couple endless threads on this forum too. But I don't wish to open that discussion again.

For beginning I wish to ask where are you playing, and can we meet on some site?
I like to play on betcoin.ag, cash game on tables 0.05/0.1 and 0.1/0.25 mbtc. Tournaments are also something I like to play, but just when I have time to sit few hours freely, what is rarely in past few weeks.

My nickname there is Underworld.
Well for me it is a game of skill specially if you are playing in real life I mean if you are facing other player face to face,
but if you are just playing in the website's then I like to consider it as game of chance cause you can't even see what they might do or read if they are just bluffing.
I agree that there is much more information which can be used to check if the opponent is bluffing or if he has the nuts but even online there are a few tells through which you can figure out how the player is and if he's bluffing. The way he played pre flop, on flop, turn and river will help you decide to call in the end or not. Other thing that might help is the time he takes too call, although a little unreliable, it can be a tool in crucial situations. Should also not disregard the fact that you have all details about the opponent in hand history, so that you can look through from time to time just to know how he played the previous hands and feet into on him. Beating people in online poker is a skill in itself. Lost of the people still do rely on luck but if you want to succeed, you have to have the skill coz you cannot get good cards all the time.

Agreed. So you must play or watch the hands of your opponent in a online poker games and try to look if you can establish a pattern.
I had one opponent I had that I've pick a pattern. He always double his bet on every street.
Another is betting small on 3rd and 4th street, and if they make a small bet on the river, they have it.!!!
If they overbet the river, they are often bluffing, trying to scare you into folding.
This is just an observation I got my playing online poker.

11734  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's TOYS, do you like it??? on: February 04, 2017, 07:53:37 AM
Do you think, most of the toys are here of most of the brands, so why not bitcoin will produce BITCOIN'S TOYS. it will make a help for publicity of Bitcoins???

What kinds of toy are you thinking? like Barbie or Ken like toys with with bitcoins logo in it? I don't think they will appreciate it.
Maybe like board games perhaps. Monopoly, Millionaires games etc.. Because those games can teach them how to invest or
trade or buy properties and collecting rents. But this time they will trade using bitcoins currency. So as early as like 5 or 6 years
old, they will know bitcoins already besides the common fiat money.

11735  Economy / Economics / Re: First investments in bitcoins on: February 04, 2017, 04:39:17 AM
I dont invest to any altcoins at the moment only in bitcoins because for me bitcoins are the only crypto currency worth investing. Alt coins are popping anywhere so its really hard to choose which one is the best alternative. Though I started with small capital but so far yields are really good so I'm sticking with bitcoins.

11737  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016/17 NBA Season on: February 03, 2017, 04:12:51 AM
The Washington Wizards defeated the Lakers with John Wall double double (33 pts, 11 asts). I lost my bet on this game because I have the handicap points for wizards with -10.5. Anyway, just have to move on, there are more games on the board. I will be betting with the Clippers Moneyline tonight, Draymond Green will not play so it's Blake show tonight.

Clippers moneyline against the Warriors Huh

Are you sure?
Houston just lost to the Hawks so anything is possible tonight. Embarrassed
And the odds are actually not that intimidating like they usually are for an opponent to the Warriors tonight just a bit over 4.3 last time I checked.
If I had any left after double losses I would put a little bit on it just for the heck of it.
But I give up cause it just ain't my night tonight with guessing on these games.
Rockets has no good defense so they lost tonight, that is a come from behind win from the Hawks, I was to hesitant to take them live because they did not perform well in there last game. But this Hawks is still a very dangerous team but unpredictable one.

Monster performance by Tim Hardaway Jr. He leads the Atlanta Hawks in the comeback
by scoring 23 points in the 4th quarter. Hardaway outscored the Rockets 23-22 in the 4th quarter.
Even in a losing effort, Harden showed us all why he is the front-runner in the MVP race.
Scoring 41 points. Atlanta is improving lately, and I hope Dwight Howard be consistent and
have 20-20 everynight. If he does, then the team will be a serious contender this season.
11738  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Investing in casinos on: February 03, 2017, 03:38:56 AM
I think there's no casino bankroll will give a real passive income for every day/month/year, they not guaranteed it.
But the bankroll usually give they total bankroll and give a percentage of your profit, for example crypto-games bankroll.

Not only casino bankroll investment but most of other investments are will not give any guaranty except fixed deposit in banks. All investment comes with some kind of risks so we should choose the correct investment based on our risk factor. If you want to avoid losses then it is better to consider diversifying your investments.
risk is one of the most important factor of all types of investments. but no one can get profit if he has no courage to take the risk. no doubt that investment in bitcoin is a also a risky investment, as no one know about the price of bitcoin, either it it will go higher or lower but still people have very good vies about bitcoins and according to them bitcoin can go more and more high, therefore we can consider it as safe investment.

Exactly! There is no assurance that you are going to get profit or passive income upon investing to gambling sites. All of them are risky and there's no guaranteed that you will get good profit in the end but this is a good investment as you don't need to do some effort for growing your bitcoin. So if the casino get's profit, you also get one.

In every investment there is no guarantee that you will profit. But in investing in casinos there is still better chances than any other investment since the house always wins. This principle is tried and tested, why do you guys think casinos in vegas gets bigger and bigger and they are even spreading across the world.

If I may add, most investments come with a level of risk that’s generally tied to the possible rate of return.Safest investments are usually also the ones that offer the lowest returns. But if you want to get a good ROI, investing in a casino is a good choice. So the only thing standing between you and a successful investment program is your decision.
11739  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Newbie wants to create new altcoin on: February 03, 2017, 03:21:10 AM
with just a basic ideas of moving some characters in unity engine C#. no idea of compilers source code github and other complex process. I want to start a new community coin. I dont need to register in exchange market.

I am from India, North east of india where most of the population has no idea what bitcoin is. So i want to introduce a digital currency. a community backed altcoin.

what do i do ?

i have tried compiling bitcoind , the tutorial in this forum got stuck with boost++ installation.

dont want to use some online make your own currency websites

Its easier said than done. You need to get your hands dirty and not just a "basic" ideas that you mentioned.
You said you are from India, I believe there's a lot of Indians who are also into bitcoin as well.
I think you also need to learn a lot of programming language (C++) and Network Infra and other stuff
before you can make you own alt-coins. Goodluck to your journey!!!
