Um, oops. forgot to add mine after the BUNDT one. 1 more BTC sent for the cause
http://blockchain.info/tx/7942486b4b09d2b7f3b743205ca8cb1fbf22c1ca05b698bad9f853c79ca21465

By the way, this is the 4th bitcoin I've honored.

We're at BTC64 now btw

The list I maintain in the OP of this thread has been updated, Rassah. Thanks again for all the work you put into this endeavor. I hope you and your better half enjoyed a fine Christmas, with apologies if I should have used the politically correct term--Holiday Season. (sincere, and not meant as a rib)

Great to see another one nearly there (was busy with the "competition" I was running so only got around to this now).

Another 5 BTC from CIYAM is on its way (tx 7213b4a6f7d7349730288b1fa4bb2b8420c914cc283db41fe99e82391a400f25).

Thank you once again, Ian, for your generous donation. Is it safe to assume that your entire contribution is meant for My Refuge House? I don't want to take this act of kindness for this particular cause for granted. The list has been updated, nonetheless.

And thank you Burt, for trying your damndest to round up the bitcoin amount on account with your kind donation.

Burt, during the general time frame of your transaction and giszmo's donation, there seems to be another <BTC1 donated. Please let us now if this transaction should be contributed to you, considering the post I quoted above this reply.

Thanks again for donation, Burt. My list has been update, and I'm sure Rassah will soon update his ledger.

Thank you, giszmo, for fucking with Burt. The list has been updated reflecting your donation as well.

Keep up the good work.

I sent two more for the next two charities after My Refuge House (already honored)

tx (pending in mem pool): 0f442f8fbea8e8d72d6f515827273fb46dfb926d261b59093d25ad794e7e449a

Finally, thank you jsmithers, for your donation. I hope everything went will Bund transferring their bitcoins into fiat, and that they're please with our support.

Now onto blasting a few more PM's with a slightly edited text.

Somethings wrong guys. I've been repeatedly pressing F5 on mtgox since I sent them this message but the price isn't going up. Whats going on?

Fucking LOL!  Cheesy

You may think it's funny, but I just called the 4300 number for S & G and the lady on the other end answered with, "Hello, Bruno K........ Hope I pronounced that correctly. How can we be of assistance to you today?" Click!

Then the entity called me, but I didn't answer, so they left a message which started with, "Hello, Phinnaeus Gage. It seems we got discounted..."

The call spooked me enough that I'm goin' to purchase me one of them bags like below and start living in the woods.

Before I retire with the bears, does anybody want to buy a dozen pairs of Bitcoin orange Stilettos, size 13?

11744  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Find Trendon Shavers in person thread... [BTCST, BTS&T, pirateat40] on: December 28, 2012, 10:58:00 PM
People in here should calm down with dox'ing people. Im all with you if the person involved did actually scammed you, but you could do it more private, lets say in a private section of this forum, and the mods giving access there to some members after providing some proof, or some other way. I dont say that to protect any scammer, but it could possibly end sadly for the victim(s), according to laws.

Please, dont take this, what i typed, wrong

FFS.  pirate was doxxed long before his ponzi collapsed precisely because the identity of someone to whom the community is entrusting hundreds of thousands of dollars (millions, if you believe the upper estimates) should be publicly known.
This.  Everyone knew his identity anyways, but I do agree that it SHOULD be in a place that only involved forum members should access.  It's not great for random people on the Internet to google "pirateat40" and get all his info.

I'm not trying to "protect the scammers," but I feel that we shouldn't post his information completely publicly.

I think you meant random people Googling his real name, for pirateat40 was only a moniker he used for the Bitcoin community.

Nor bought or sold pork loins.
Used to troll here a lot,
Then a scammer tag he got:
For crazy betting, owing 100,000+ coins.

I will pay BTC100 per week for each winning limerick, provided it's in the same format as above, with the results voted on by Amish Elders from a community in Indiana.

etc...

I for one will think twice before using your service from now on, seeng your unprofessional attitude here.

I was thinking the same. I will not use bitcoin-central.net and will not recommend it to anyone.

+2

I also quit using bitcoin-central because of davout's childish behavior here on the forums. Long ago, that is.

Ditto. Its hilariously unprofessional to just scream 'go fuck yourself' at someone who makes you an offer, and in the public eye. If the offer was too much/overpriced or whatever, should have just been like 'lol no thanks' and left it at that. Totally uncalled for, especially when you didnt even respond to him (her?) at all. Why would anyone want to do business with you if your just going to be a total bitch when a deal doesn't sound good to you?

+4. The lack of professionalism displayed by numerous proprietors in the bitcoin economy is, in a word, disappointing. Bitcoin is very young with incredible potential. YOU GUYS - the first movers creating and operating businesses in the nascent bitcoin economy - are the public face of bitcoin, and the most important points of contact with the masses of future users. Especially with bitcoin's still dubious reputation and coming off of a year of ugly scams and nonsense, to have anything less than stellar and pristine public behavior by cornerstone members of the ecosystem is unacceptable.

Every time I see such unfortunate behavior I sigh to myself and think bitcoin has a bit farther to go than I'd assumed. Obviously this is a community of aggressive, mostly young, often previously inexperienced entrepreneurs who are more interested in building businesses and value than worrying about civility online. But still....come on. Act like the potential we all know is here.

Just sayin'.

Sent one!

Sent 1BTC. A good cause.

Please accept my apologies, for this is the first time I've purposely lumped quotes together to solely thank those for their kind donations. Thank you, fizzisist, Bees Brothers, and paybitcoin for your contribution toward My Refuge House. I will update the list in the OP of this thread momentarily.

Expert dismisses claims WWII pigeon code has been cracked

I don't believe anybody has offered a reward to the first person who cracks it. What if some Bitcoin entity did such that via a press release? Wouldn't that bring awareness to Bitcoin, but in a better light than the Mitt Romney episode? I'm thinking Bitcoin 100.

Better yet, what if a whole slew of Bitcoin entities got on board, each offering a BTC100 reward/prize to the first person who cracks the Pigeon Code. Bitcoin Magazine could dedicate an entire article to such an endeavor, for it is crypto related. And every subsequent issue will have a paid ad offering up the reward, paid for equally by all the Bitcoin entities offering up the prize.

The list may look like the following:

Bitcoin 100
Butterfly Labs
Memory Dealers
Bitcoin Magazine
Bit Pay
Mt Gox
Seals with Clubs
Bit Brew
Bees Brothers
BitInstant
Casascius

Assuming 20 names on the list, that would equate to over a $25K prize, and the ad would only cost 1/20 the prevailing rate for each business on the list.

As long as there's at least 20 names on the list, there probably wouldn't be any problem with some advertisers bowing out every now and then. Then again, the list may grow, demanding a larger ad space, and less that each entity has to dole out to be placed on the list. And the list will be on the online version where each name is linked to their respected website. Looks to me like a win-win can't-lose proposition.

Occasionally a website with beatable blackjack will pop up.

I wasn't referring to the virtual casinos. It all started after WMS Gaming introduced a new line and the others followed suit.
11752  Other / Off-topic / Re: CASINO WINNING STRATEGY WORKS 100% OF TIME! on: December 28, 2012, 02:41:40 AM
My winning strategy is don't ever go to casinos

Would you be shocked to learn that at one time, not too long ago, ~40% of the modern slot machines on the casino floors were beatable? And to boot, although the casinos lost no money with those machines, it was to their best interest to have them replaced with a different type.

I'm not sure if there's a demand for this service, since bank billpay is pretty easy and free.

There is plenty of demand. If I have bitcoins and need to pay my gas/water/electric/whatever bill, then I either need a BTC billpay service, or I need to convert BTC to fiat, get that into my bank, then use the bank bill pay. I would much rather pay 1.5% for someone to accept BTC and pay my bill rather than either take a lot of time to get money in my bank, or pay 1.5% and have to do a bit of leg work to get BTC into cash, then that cash deposited.

Should be ready pretty soon

11760  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Public Notice: Bitcoincentral.com on: December 27, 2012, 07:48:26 PM
If I happened to owned bitcoincentral.com, but did nothing with it, and a similarly named entity came along and developed an enterprise around it, I would have offered the domain I had control of to them first, taking the first, and hopefully, best offer from them. This thought process only applies to Bitcoin entities, for in a different world I would press for a prevailing price point.

On a similar note, edd owns the domain bitcoin100.org, and I pay for hosting and provide the content. If Ed was offered some big chuck of change for the domain, I'm sure he would make me known of that fact first, seeing if I can come close to the offer price. If I can't, I would have no problem with letting him move forward with the sale, hopefully having him donate some coins toward the newly branded Bitcoin 100 hosted with a new domain name that I (the organization) would have control of.

With the exception of the above, I'll refrain from taking sides in this dispute, hoping that it'll be formidably resolved in a timely manner.
