11762  Economy / Speculation / Re: Future BTC's price on: January 09, 2019, 12:21:54 PM
In future miners will be rewarded almost exclusively with transaction fees.

The idea is that bitcoin is widely used with millions of transactions on each block, so those fees will be enough.

So theoretically, if Bitcoin really become adopted as we expect, the prices are very low now as the reward is 12.5 BTC for each block plus fees (every 10minutes). The next halving will reduce to 6.25, which will probably lead to a great price increase
11763  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: TRON Cryptocurrency’s Development Team Grows From 2 to Over 40 on: January 09, 2019, 12:10:18 PM
Obviously they will have to increase their team member because of their recently aquired BitTorrent. They are comming up with ICO of BitTorrent which have huge users around the world who will be directly using tron blockchain now. TRON had very succesful & less controversial mainnet launch, with large user base they will have to maintain their repo in the market. I will not be surprised to see the team members over 40+ very soon & TRON will have fanastic 2019.

Tron also had a very successful ico. They raised lots of funds and they have money to hire as many people as they need for the team.
I don't believe in this project very much, as few time ago Justin sold some coins which were supposed to be locked. His whole attitude as a CEO is controverse, and I don't think this is any good for the project.

I thought it was a weird choice but BitTorrent to choose TRON as their plataform..
11764  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Classic - 1.1 Million USD Stolen Through 51% attacks on: January 09, 2019, 11:51:56 AM
Although there are many measures against a 51% attack, the only way to really protect the network is increasing the hast rate.

However, not all shitcoins in the world can have a high hash rate.

I believe the solution for those small projects is a different algorithm, such as pos

Ethereum classic should be rushing Casper implementation now, stepping ahead of Vitalik's blockchain (which is only delaying Casper for months and years)
11765  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: P2P gambling games on: January 09, 2019, 11:30:32 AM
I think P2P games are much more fun and competitive. They are also more addictive.
It's sad to see that they are not making a lot of success around.

Some games are better played P2P, like poker games .

P2p are also usually harder and matches are longer... You also need more focus than most games out there. It's a different kind of entertainment
11766  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Proof of Keys Event for a Beginner? on: January 09, 2019, 09:00:37 AM
No. You can use multcurrency wallets.

For newbies, I can suggest you download coinomi wallet. It has an Android and iOS version. Download it on the official Google/Apple store.

I wouldn't want to store my wallet on a computer or phone honestly.  I would suggest hardware (such as Ledger Nano) or paper wallet.  Your machine/phone can be compromised and your coins stolen.

That's right, it's much better to use a hardware wallet.
Ledger offer support to a lot of coins and all tokens.

However this event is about removing your coins from the exchange. Using any kind of wallet is a great step already, even a mobile wallet
11767  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / ethereum classic suffers 51% attack, but price barely affected on: January 08, 2019, 10:25:32 PM
Quote
When the 18th-largest cryptocurrency falls prey to a 51% attack, you’d expect it to make an impact on the coin’s short-term price movements. However, following a brief drop on Monday, the Ethereum Classic price is only performing moderately worse than its peers.

Coinbase Suspends All Ethereum Classic Activity

What was noticed by Ethereum Classic and CCN was later confirmed by Coinbase, which froze all deposits, withdrawals, and trading of ETC on its platform after determining that the issue was a 51% attack.

https://www.ccn.com/ethereum-classic-price-barely-moves-despite-51-attack/

One more small pow coin is suffering a 51% attack.

I believe only few coins, the biggest ones, should use pow. Those small projects are getting smashed by 51% like btg, vertcoin and now Ethereum classic.

I hope ethereum Constantinople will trigger a new wave of POS coins.

Ethrreumc classic may could even rush this a bit, as pow is clearly a problem for it.
11768  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How gambling sites can cheat you on: January 08, 2019, 09:58:08 PM
I don't think many websites do that, but probably some scam websites may have done it already.

So this is why it's important to look for reliable gambling sites ,for some years on the market and with community support.
There are many gambling websites with these characteristics, so you have no reason to risk in Unknown ones.
11769  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which is the most secured way of buying bitcoin with fiat currency? on: January 08, 2019, 08:52:40 PM
Everything depends on which Fiat currency you have.

Of you have USD or EUR, you have far too many good options.

However in Latin America for example there are very few exchanges. You have to search locally where to find a good exchange.
11770  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: I have not been nice in my predictions about ETH, but... on: January 08, 2019, 08:50:30 PM
On a hindsight, I'm thinking that this Bitcoin bullish trend or at least this spike has something to do with Ethereum fork, somehow its really pulling up the price of Bitcoin as well, so let's see how it pans out specially after the fork is completed. Sketchy as this point because we are still in the bearish sentiments, but we will see.

This bullish trend really may have something to do with ethereum fork. Eth/BTC pair has increased also recently.

This fork is important for the ecosystem, as it will be important for proof of stake implementation, which could be good for the whole ecosystem, triggering a bull run.

Many pow coins are already suffering lots of 51% attacks. POS could be a solution for those coins, and ethereum solution to use POS may be used by those projects.
11771  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Claiming BCH/BTG on: January 08, 2019, 07:15:19 PM
I made a post here long time ago, explaining how to claim most of those forks using coinomi wallet and iancoleman.io/bip39 tool

The most important is to transfer your BTC to another wallet before doing it

11772  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I LOST OVER 10 BTC IN GAMBLING IN 2018 on: January 08, 2019, 06:52:53 PM
As I read in many places already, gambling is a money you pay to have fun, and sometimes you can make some profit.

But 10btc is far more money than you should spend in fun activities
11773  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Allert about Stellar Airdrop on: January 08, 2019, 06:40:33 PM
I consider all of those links suspicious and I will not click in any.

This is the only legit website for this campaign. There is no Google form or any other address.

https://www.blockchain.com/getcrypto

They are not giving cryptocurrency for free. They are paying you $25 for an identity verification (kyc). You will have to send the documents like driver license or passport to receive the Airdrop and link them to your id

I posted this a while ago, and I believe it's an interesting comparison between Bitcoin and blue Chip stocks.

Bitcoin is a like a blur Chip of cryptos.

Friendly bump, and moving topic to a less spammy board.
11777  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How does blockchain work? Share your favourite resources on: January 07, 2019, 02:55:50 PM
I posted this a while ago, and this video is really amazing. I recommend everyone to watch it, so you can fully understand what is proof of work and how it really works. It is very simple and illustrative z and you will understand it.

THis is the best visual explanation about the blockchain i have ever seen. I recommend that everyone watches it.

https://anders.com/blockchain/

Anders explains in a very visual way what is a hash, what happens when you hash a block. What happens to that hash when someone alters a transaction. What is a nonce, what is mining.

This is a classic now.

11778  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Nano X - new mobile focused hardware wallet on: January 07, 2019, 02:40:17 PM
I never had this kind of problem. What would be "missing transaction"?
You can always use Electrum with your ledger nano. It works perfectly and gives you all control over your coins  an average user needs

Some of my transactions would not show up or it would take ages for the Chrome app to load (certainly not because of my PC). I was aware of Ledger support in Electrum but I was disappointed with the provided software.

The chrome app was really bad. I never used it, always used Electrum. You can also check balances on blockers, which I think are much more reliable.

Anyway it's much safer to use a hardware Wallet, even if the software UI is terrible..
11779  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Want to quit? Here's how on: January 07, 2019, 12:58:46 PM
I think the biggest difficult in quitting is that addicted people are often deep red, so they feel they need to recover their money through more gambling.

That's a problem, as gambling should be fun, not an obligation to make money.

The important is never gamble more than you can afford to lose.
11780  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Nano X - new mobile focused hardware wallet on: January 07, 2019, 12:37:08 PM
Honestly, 119 euro isn't really that much. I thought it would be somewhere around 150 euro. I bought my Ledger Nano S for 100 euro but I quickly got tired of missing transactions (due to enormous load on Ledger servers back then) and decided to sell it to a friend. Has anyone pre-ordered it yet? How does Ledger Live work in comparison to the deprecated Chrome app? Does it perform better?
