11761  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: July 22, 2016, 11:13:16 AM
i think that we need day about catapult is out?HuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuh?

also need to add at more big exchanges

like

bitstamp
coinbase Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

where is dev

Is this possible? I think NEM getting listed in Bitstamp or Coinbase is a fantasy. But for me there is a chance of it getting listed in BTC-E. It is one of the oldest exchanges and it is still alive and kicking. I have not read anything about it being hacked. Unlike Poloniex it was hacked once.
11762  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: RISE | ICO CLOSED | RISE WITHDRAWAL ENABLED | MAINNET LIVE | TRADING ON BITTREX on: July 22, 2016, 11:08:06 AM
Update related to todays events and bittrex:

I asked Bittrex to suspend deposits and withdrawals today until we found out exactly why there was a server outage causing the blockchain to stop.

The following explantion was posted here:

http://forum.rise.vision/topic/8/rise-wallet-re-opened-at-bittrex-21st-july-2016

This highlights EXACTLY why we need delegates back into the public hands asap and running on multiple nodes.

Thanks for the understanding and patience while the development work is completed to make public delegates possible and stable again.

I just wonder that rise is a clone of lisk, why lisk is stable but rise has so many issues?

You guys should be focus on stability first. And then, other projects, btw, waiting for long time is ok if they can be done, finally rise will rise.

Yes I agree. Stability and security first and then further developments later. I mean what is the hurry? The developers must first make sure that everything is ready. Now look at what happened? This is another hurdle and problem to be solved. But if you made sure that everything is ok, this will not happen and development can go more smoothly.
11763  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: To Gamble or To Invest? on: July 22, 2016, 10:59:01 AM
Investing always is best and can not be compared with gambling. You only need some decent amount to invest in some well reputed and solid site for example Moneypot or some similar sites. Gambling always has extra risks. I was doing in old version of moneypot but now I am playing gambling in small amounts and not in mood of investment nowhere.

You are telling that Investing is best comparing to gambling and in the last sentence you are telling that now you are playing gambling and not in mood of investment. what does it mean by your reply, you stated both option as good.

In my opinion both are having same risk, if you are going to invest in gambling site, then if any user wins jackpot then its loss to the site and that will suffer your investment also. So it is better that how much you are going to invest and which site you are going to invest. You can try with Altcoin trading which is also good, if you have knowledge.

Yes. Altcoin trading can be profitable and it is still very new so there is a lot of "loose money" investing in altcoins. Especially now with everyone riding the Ethereum bandwagon, many developers are also creating their own smart contract platforms. It is also easier to make money from it compared to gambling in casino games where the house an edge. But sports betting is also good.
11764  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: do you like slot games ? on: July 22, 2016, 10:53:17 AM
What is the most popular bitcoin casino? I want to play to pass the time sometimes and I think slots is the cheapest form of gambling to do it without any stress. Cheesy And what is the most popular slot machine game in the world of bitcoin?
11765  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: In gambling, Money is more important than knowledge and luck on: July 22, 2016, 10:49:46 AM
While money and knowledge do help in gambling it all comes down to luck. You may start with dust and due to incredible luck gain an incredible profit. So the most important part of gambling for me is 100% luck.

Luck is a part of it but it is all mathematics. If you know the odds and your expected value you'll know what and how much you will win in each bet. Of course after knowing that it will now come down to your willingness to take the risk for the reward you are expected to get. In short you will know how big your edge is. If you have no edge then don't bet.

It sounds simple but it is not. Discipline also plays a key role.
11766  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: In gambling, Money is more important than knowledge and luck on: July 22, 2016, 07:59:02 AM
I disagree with the title of this thread. All three are important but money and skill are more important.

But in arguing against the title, what good is your money if you do not have the proper skill in knowing how and what to bet? Your money will be useless no matter how much it is. Cheesy
11767  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are your gambling stats? (Profit/Loss) on: July 22, 2016, 07:49:23 AM
Most people have lost more times with gambling because of the fact that the odds are against you at all times and you cannot change.
If you have won more times then lost then you must be very lucky because it is almost impossible.

But if you could do this with some degree of consistency for a big sample size then you must be doing something correct. It is the sharp bettors that are winning consistently and that is the top 5% of bettors. Others lose, some faster than others and feed the sharps. This the reality of the game and even in business. If you are not smart enough then you are going to lose your money.
11768  Other / Politics & Society / What is your race and/or religion? on: July 22, 2016, 07:44:14 AM
We often hear folks talk about race and religious issues in the USA, as well as around the world. . There are of course animals and sea creatures, but as for the human race, afaik we are all humans regardless of our color or religion. I dont know of any half human, half animal. The so called science, and defining characteristics of certain races, it only goes so far, as intelligence can be found around the globe. Some guy might have some pictures, and some other stuff to attempt to explain that, there is a difference between how the white race, and the black race think. But to that point, "we all breath air" as the famous actor Anthony Hopkins once said. Now this is not some sort of thing where its the old people who have race issues, both young and old people can be racists. But if one goes back centuries, even thousands of years you will find that even during those times, there were humans out there preaching messages of tolerance of others, regardless of race or religion. Around the world we have folks who believe that certain races, and even certain belief systems can effect a human beings way of life. Now the human mind is really an interesting thing, its capable of making informed decisions when it reaches a certain point. Now there as cases of mental retardation within some human beings, and we as humans often look to science to help out people who have mental deficiencies. We have religions people, and we have folks who consider themselves atheists. But again, what do these two people have in common? They are both of the human race. And the way the world works, and has worked, is when a Atheist or religious person get into an argument, warfare can and has happened. The human mind can only take so many insults until it reacts.

-Atheists who want religion eliminated, that most likely requires warfare.

-Religious folks who want atheists eliminated, that most likely requires warfare,

-Blacks who want whites eliminated or vs versa, that most likely requires warfare

-Religious folks who want other religious folks eliminated, that most likely requires warfare,

-Atheists who want other Atheists eliminated, that most likely requires warfare.

But for those who cant stand black folks, cant stand whites, cant stand Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, get this, above one can note the words, Atheists, Black, white, religious people, all these types of people united during WW2 to take on what was arguably the most serious threat to freedom that the world has seen.

Where would we be today, had all those allied heroes from WW2, from numerous backgrounds, been fighting with each other as opposed to being united?
11769  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Dogecoin Dead??? on: July 22, 2016, 07:40:06 AM
What more development can be done on dogecoin? Is there something new that can be done? Something spectacular? If not then it will slowly die. It is up to the merchants and start up if they decide to use dogecoins in whatever ideas they conjure. But it is there waiting to be used and wilting away.
11770  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Steemit how can this thing be workable long term? on: July 22, 2016, 07:37:48 AM
"All a matter of funding. If steem creates a big suck and the big content houses react, then they'll likely launch their own versions on the "content4pay " concept. The key is community mindset and not necessarily growth/adoption stats."

This is true. If the big content houses are smart they should react at the right time and act in the right way. But if they do not react at all, they will be eaten alive slowly by the new blood and their market will shrink. Dominance in business in the internet is not the same in the real world. The shift in power happens much faster and at the strangest times online. The advent of blockchain apps will see to this.
11771  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I think Ethereum will be finished after this attack on: July 22, 2016, 07:18:19 AM
Vitalik and his team has done well in the hard fork. It was smooth with no sign of technical problems. But I have a question. Is the new Ethereum "attack proof" from the one the hacker did with the DAO? Will we not see this happen anymore?
11772  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How and wich altcoins do you trade on: July 22, 2016, 07:15:35 AM
For easy profit I advice trading the latest altcoin platforms like Lisk, Rise or Waves. Why? Because they are riding the Ethereum bandwagon of a decentralized platform capable of building apps and smart contracts. I am not saying that they are nothing but hype. Some of them are really trying to make something useful and think they can build it better than the Ethereum developers by making a different approach.
11773  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LSK] Lisk | Blockchain Application Platform for JavaScript Developers on: July 22, 2016, 06:58:55 AM
Come in Lisk Chat and get to know everyone. There's a lot going on outside of BitcoinTalk. I would say 90% of what is happening with Lisk is happening outside of this forum.

That is good news. Sometimes I think of selling all because some person in the forum is making up any story to make Lisk look bad. In truth people should be buying in right now. The price has stabilized and there is nowhere to go but up. The developers will settle soon in an office and it is all work and development from now on. I hope start ups will start to notice this and build apps in the network.
11774  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Trading vs Gambling on: July 22, 2016, 06:51:05 AM
Just curious since the last discussion I had was about gambling vs trading. I know trading can seem to be a bit of a gamble as well, but I see it a little bit like poker. It's a combination of math and psychology. Maybe not the same ratio though, just generalizing  Tongue

well i can't deny the role that luck (chance) plays in trading too but i don't like calling trading as a bit of a gamble.

and to answer your question i am only trading for money making and will always gamble for fun as i play other games.

It is a bit of a gamble. You are never assured if the altcoin you bought will go up. Also when it does go up you are never assured if your sell price is correct. Because sometimes after you sell the coin will still continue to go up and it is like leaving money on the table. Then sometimes when you keep holding the price goes down making your profit smaller. Anything that involves risk is a bit of a gamble.
11775  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you know when to stop? on: July 22, 2016, 06:21:07 AM
when i win back to back two bets or when i loose back to back two bets then i know its time to stop.
If i win then i take back the profit and if i loose then i just want to forget about that.

This is a very wise advice. This is true and it will apply to everyone because you know the feeling that if you continue and you lose you will not be able to rest and continue gambling to get your losses back only to find out you have a bigger loss. Also it is not worth it to continue even if you win because the feeling you get is not very satisfying. So if feeling the loss is much more then feeling the win, then quit it is not worth it to continue.
11776  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Trading vs Gambling on: July 22, 2016, 05:56:38 AM
When you like to acquire more bitcoin and become involved in the cryptosphere there is nothing else to do but make skill bets and trade cryptocurrencies. If there was only a part time job that is available that will pay in bitcoins, I will take it. But there is none that I am qualified because most of them are for programmers. If I am wrong with this please tell me where I can find a job that will pay in bitcoins.
11777  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling vs Betting on: July 22, 2016, 05:51:39 AM
We all know betting is better then gambling because you have a certain degree of control. I wonder who of you have gone from gambling to only betting now much did your profits increase and what difference does it make ?
betting also can considers as gambling but maybe what you mean here in sport betting the results pure from those matches and would be different if you playing games at the casinos because playing such as dice ,slot machines, or roulette needed luck to do so also the house can manipulate the results from these games

In sports betting there is very rare chance to manipulate the result, it happening only fixed matches but the common thing is only luck to win from bookies or the house, I don't think all casinos are involve into this fishy game to manipulate the outcome because they have provably fair system to verify the results.

But like in trading, you can only win in sports betting if you have the skill. Only the top 5% will make money in it because they are better in making decisions than the rest of the bettors. They make money out of the losers in the whole of sports betting. It is also very hard to win because you have to gain experience and that will take over one year.
11778  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum Price Speculation on: July 21, 2016, 12:31:52 PM
The free market determines the reasonable price, and it looks like the hard fork was priced in before it happened. You do not see investors who were refunded dumping their Ether so far. The price of Ether even rose immediately after the hard fork.

That is because most of the ethers invested came from the people from the Ethereum Foundation and their insider friends. Why do you think there was a hard fork in the first place? Also it is against their self interest to dump those ethers now. But I feel sorry for them because their original plan with the DAO is not doable anymore whatever that plan is.

11780  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to stay away from gambling? suggestions ? on: July 21, 2016, 12:08:24 PM
I think you can't stay away from addiction of gambling by this way. The best way to stay away from addiction in gamble is give your hand to the Lord.
It's all in your head that you want to gamble, you just can't.

What do you mean by this? There are also priests who gamble. Some of them love to play cards in private and play for real money with the politicians.
