1181  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: [WARNING] Do not sign for any BFL package you plan to get a refund on! on: September 16, 2013, 03:22:38 AM
I talked to my credit card company and they said to refuse the package and they'd handle getting me the refund.
do you have a reddit account? apparently bfl doesnt know that bfl is shipping orders out of queue and wants proof.

if I had the opportunity to stick it to BFL, I'd change my password to "BFLSUCKSCOCK1234", give it to grnbrg, and tell him to have a blast. The account is useless after a refund anyways.

No, it has my personal info still.

He's a BFL employee,

Then he should be able to look at orders that have shipped in the last couple weeks and see for himself.

You can run it with nohup or inside screen.
1184  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Synergy Designs Inc. -ASIC mining hardware on: September 14, 2013, 04:20:11 PM
As far as I know Bitfury's the only one actually delivering right now.
1185  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Computer just for coin transactions. on: September 14, 2013, 04:03:12 PM
To be paranoid, there may be an exploit to influence the RNG.  But that's really paranoid.

Yes - was already brought up - although am pretty sure if it was a problem with the major OSs then pretty much all of our BTC should already have been stolen (the thieves didn't waste any time stealing from the broken Java RNG implementation in Android - why would they not have done the same for others then?).

And people did run checks on the entire blockchain for the re-use of the random K values in tx's - apparently re-used K values only showed up for a very small number of tx's that were most likely from the Java RNG issue.

I mean on purchased used computers.  A real long shot, for sure.

Once again - if you *never* connect it online it doesn't matter how nastily infected it is (and physically disabling any ability for it to ever connect is my advice and what I have done to the old laptop I bought for this purpose).

Also don't use the OS on it either - use a LiveOS (and one that doesn't use the HDD).

You're not gaining anything by having that computer online Dabs.  Just put it offline and use it to only sign transactions.
1188  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Help with migrating to Electrum. on: September 14, 2013, 08:48:03 AM
You might need to rescan.  I can't remember the command, maybe try switching servers will do it?

Double or nothing!!
1190  Other / Off-topic / Re: I need some small super malicious computer viruses on: September 14, 2013, 06:17:59 AM
I'm sure they would have to run the .exe.  Otherwise you could hide your secret message inside of a program that prints it out.  They probably have some sort of automated sandbox executable analyzer.
1191  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Computer just for coin transactions. on: September 14, 2013, 03:11:21 AM
You download the blockchain on a separate computer that's online, so you can see your balance.  Then you create an unsigned transaction and transfer it to the offline computer where you sign it.  Then you transfer it back to the online computer to broadcast it.

I need some help trying to send a signed message to steamboat?
Im using electrum as a wallet-  a seedless wallet version ( it can receive bitcoin but not send). To send i need to go to an offline pc that i have and import raw data etc..
How do I send a signed message from my original sending address to steamboat?
I have right clicked on the address and select 'sign message' then filled in message details- what do i put in the signature section?
When I hit sign I get- 'NoneType' object has no attribute'_getitem_'

Thanks

You can't sign the message unless you have access to the private key.  You'll probably have to use the offline pc and construct the message there.
1193  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Klondike - 16 chip ASIC Open Source Board - Preliminary on: September 12, 2013, 05:04:19 PM
Would it be possible to re-design the board to run with bitfury chips?

Yes, but it would be a complete redesign.
1194  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Synergy Designs Inc. -ASIC mining hardware on: September 12, 2013, 02:49:05 PM
An overclock design (v2) is a good idea.  Just need the room on the board and reroute the power.  I think the boards are already made up, though.

You could solo mine Bitcoins... it would be like playing the lottery.... you could think of it like fun... and maybe one day... you actually hit a block.... and get it all to yourself Tongue

I hit 12.1 million last week.  Almost...
1196  Economy / Securities / Re: Cloudhashing ASIC mining contracts, UK LTD company - Now Mining & Paying Bitcoin on: September 12, 2013, 06:24:33 AM

Bitfury delivered already.  They were the correct ones to bet on.

I'm going to need a template of a template...

So I thought I had it!   I decided to follow your advice and sign up on slushs pool.    I don't mind where I mining so long as I am mining and amazingly on Ports 8332 My blades look like they are working perfectly!  I am getting nearly 13000Mhash from each one and they are showing correct numbers/shares and high efficiency Yay!

BUT... in 8 hours of straight mining the pool is showing my average 10block hashrate at 0.0, and I have no rewards given...?!   It does estimate what my reward per-block would be, but in 8 hours I have no confirmed rewards of anykind Sad

What the hell is this now?

Sometimes pools get unlucky and don't find a block for several hours.  You should have some unconfirmed rewards by now, though.
1199  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: WILL BFL BE OFFERING A SMALLER VERSION OF THE MONARCH? on: September 11, 2013, 05:30:03 PM
Yes, but it won't be an offer.  They'll split all monarch orders into 3 of the same size but 1/3 the hash rate and then ship them all out of order.
1200  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Did i just get Fucked by BFL on: September 11, 2013, 03:09:11 PM
Production has not been halted, just temporarily suspended.
