1181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin developers will NEVER fork to reverse transactions from theft on: June 17, 2016, 08:37:55 PM
This is the good thing about litecoin. It runs like a decentralised cryptocurrency not a dictatorship.
1182  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Litecoin is the sleeping giant on: June 17, 2016, 08:06:51 PM
Litecoin has a bright future Smiley
1183  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is ethereum safe or not ??? on: June 17, 2016, 07:09:31 PM
It has been hacked, no matter what the devs do the result is going to be negative. I would sell while ether stills has some value left.
1184  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Deploy virus on ether blockchain on: June 17, 2016, 06:40:36 PM
your coding skills

It amazing what reverse engineering code can do for your coding skills Smiley
1185  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Vitalik pooping his pants on: June 17, 2016, 06:38:46 PM
If ether was launched fairly it might actually have stood a chance. IPO/ICO gives devs too much power to dump/control a coin. If a dev believes in their project they will not asks for millions to develop it.
1186  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ether is hacked. 8 million Ether (shit) tokens stolen. It will crash and die. on: June 17, 2016, 06:20:19 PM
Ether is dead. BTC,LTC and other fairly launched coins are the true coins.
1187  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Deploy virus on ether blockchain on: June 17, 2016, 06:19:28 PM
What is stopping me from deploying a virus disguised as a dapp on the ether blockchain? I think i will begin work on a keylogger and market it as a dapp.  Grin
1188  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best coins to stake? on: June 16, 2016, 09:11:29 AM
I would say peercoin. Stake is only 1% yearly but it is a stable coin.
1189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: PeerAssets & PeerKeeper on: June 10, 2016, 04:23:57 PM
After a long time peercoin development is starting to pick up again
1190  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FoldingCoin - MINE FOR MEDICINE- PHASE 2.0 - $1,500 & 100mln FLDC BOUNTY! on: June 10, 2016, 07:23:48 AM
Just watched the monthly meeting and just a few things i want to comment on

Monthly distributions

I support it as long as distributions are done on a fixed day each month

Project direction

I think the actions being taken now are correct however i think there are several bigger questions that need to be asked such as:

- What is foldingcoin's long term purpose?
- How will foldingcoin as a asset be given utility?
- Why should someone mine foldingcoin verses something like ether?

Merged Folding

Happy to have it back in one form or another

Additional comments about Price

The price has been holding steady at >25 satoshi for about 5 months now indicating market maturity. This is true even whilst bitcoin has been surging

1191  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What happened to Nxt millionaires? on: June 03, 2016, 04:00:25 PM
NXT has no real world applications for the average user, this combined with its use of java killed it
1192  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FoldingCoin - Mine for medicine, Scrypt and SHA256 ASIC proof on: June 01, 2016, 10:22:36 PM
With the 100 million coins that have been set aside, are these included as part of the total coins in circulation on coinmarketcap? Or are they set aside with the remaining 700M?
1193  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FoldingCoin - Mine for medicine, Scrypt and SHA256 ASIC proof on: May 09, 2016, 05:46:20 AM
Whats the URL to view amount of points folded on a daily basis?
1194  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: if i give you 1 000 000 PPC what will you do? on: May 08, 2016, 10:28:11 AM
i'll dump them for bitcoin, immediately, no need other currency i think, better to focus on the better one

btc could always fail, better to have holdings in multiple crypto. Peercoin is one of the most solid coins out there, it was coin that invented POS if i am not mistaken.
1195  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin is officially dead on: April 26, 2016, 04:18:35 AM
Yes litecoin is dead that must be why its price is increasing 5% or so every day.
1196  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin is starting to trek upwards on: April 26, 2016, 04:17:23 AM
Litecoin continues to rise up 6.56% in the last 24 hours
1197  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin is starting to trek upwards on: April 26, 2016, 03:58:36 AM
Other forces come into play here, so anybody who is looking at what innovation does LTC offer is on the wrong trail.

Lol if you judge a coin by its innovation then BTC should be $0.

What the feck did my poor eyes just read? Bitcoin is THE ONE INNOVATOR who founded this entire scene. The reason why you and me are here in the first place. LOL!

If Bitcoin is not insanely innovative then I don't know what is.

Bitcoin is NOT innovative compared to some altcoins which have a range of features. Compared to regular currency bitcoin is innovative but not compared to the tech in some alts. Bitcoin is not succesful because of its tech rather because of its adoption.

Bitcoin was the most innovative who made all this possible thus nothing comes close to its innovation power yet, imo

Maybe Ethereum or something similar will be able to enable  something along the lines of that, but there aren't any altcoins who have done anything even remotely close to what Bitcoin has done.

I think you misunderstand, bitcoin is innovative but the pow technology it uses it ancient and will fail in the future. Tech ways there are more advanced things in crypto space such as POS, instant transaction and annoymous transactions.

lol you are delusional. There's not a single alternative to POW that delivers the level of robustness and army-grade encryption that POW delivers.
Bitcoin's core will remain like that because it's a feature, then through second layer solutions like Lightning Network we can have instant cheap transactions and we will have increased anonymity in the near future as well.

Bitcoin has no competition, stop dreaming with altcoins taking over and be realistic.

Lol pow is a gigantic waste of energy to solve pointless math problems which can be handled far more efficiently through a proof of stake system. Will bitcoin survive this block halving? The next? The one after that? Sooner or later bitcoin devs will release that while pow is good for initial distribution it is a terrible choice for long term sustainability. In contrast look at a pos network like nubits, the nodes are in power not rich chinese miners, consensus on future features is reached in days not months and all of this is done while using a fraction of the power that the bitcoin network uses.

A POS network can process transactions for near zero costs while a pow network must keeping rising its transaction fees to pay miners due to the declining block reward over time. I think once major security problems occur in bitcoin some POS coin will rise quite a bit.
1198  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin - set to rise with BTC? on: April 26, 2016, 03:46:34 AM
Well so far LTC has been rising with btc both price wise and ratio wise.
1199  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: End Of Ether on: April 26, 2016, 03:45:15 AM
Ether money will move into BTC and LTC for the upcoming pump as these are honest coins
1200  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FoldingCoin - Mine for medicine, Scrypt and SHA256 ASIC proof on: April 25, 2016, 04:22:23 PM
I know it is easy to complain but i get the feeling this coin is going nowhere. Every single month promises are made in google meetup which are then broken by the next meeting. Several projects such as off-chain distribution system, online store and other projects have been canceled. Distributions are always running late and coin price has been in downward spiral for a month. Dev disappears for weeks on end and comes back with little apology. I understand that foldingcoin is not peoples entire lives but it takes just 5 minutes to post updates on this forum so people dont assume you have abandoned the project.

Do i think FLDC will fail? - probably not but i think its best days are behind it. I hope FLDC will prove me wrong in the long term but i have my doubt.

Hey K210, yeah i know this is a problem and i promise im trying my best to get FoldingCoin there. We have helene helping with social media which is a huge help, but there is still a lot to this project that needs volunteer hours to get there quicker. But i cant invest 40 hours a week to the project anymore, so i am kindof at a point where special things like off chain distribution and other things like that are just on the back burner for now. I am still talking with that development company and things look good there, but in the mean time keep calm on fold on Cheesy

Remember everyone, email me rross@foldingcoin.net if you are interested in volunteering, or promote FoldingCoin in your own way, or join in the discussion at the slack http://slack.foldingcoin.net/

Yes i can understand your position afterall foldingcoin is not a sustainable full time job. I am just pointing out various areas in which i think FLDC can improve. I think merged folding should be brought back as soon as possible as assets such as FDCARD might be created again in future. If FLDC has one strength it is definitely the merged folding platform. Just a couple of months ago i sold 1 FDCARD for about 400XCP and i held the XCP until recently when it jumped to $2.20 per XCP. I think you can calculate how much i made Wink

I made more from merged folding than i did from 8 months of bitcoin mining which speaks volumes about the merged mining platform and its potential.
