1181  Bitcoin / Meetups / Re: Bitcoin Supernode Summit Finland 9.-12. May 2013 on: May 12, 2013, 03:43:39 PM
I'm quoting this, doesn't sound good, waiting for more news:
My life is currently resembling a movie. I don't usually watch them, but this one is interesting.  Cool

Sorry that the conference was busted big time. I took all precautions available to me, but considerable force was used against me. If anyone related to the matters currently unfolding is threatened with physical harm, I am able to cede the control of a necessary number of bitcoins to redeem him/her.

You know, bitcoin is a revolutionary technology and it does not really matter how many bitcoins I hold. My potential to work for the better of this world is not too much connected to my actual number of bitcoins, rather it is the technical and organizational ability that decides whether you can affect the world or not.

I need some sleep, ttyl.
1182  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Price of Bitcoin when you Jumped On-Board? on: May 08, 2013, 12:12:44 AM
I bought my first bitcoins for less than $0.5. Don't remember the exact amount and I only put in like 40-50 bucks at that time. Soon after the price went above one dollar.

"I would argue very strongly that the rigid application of US financial reporting rules would bring [bitcoin] to a stop pretty quickly. And that is all the authorities really need to do. Volumes in Bitcoin are far too small for it to be worthwhile filing all the paperwork that could be demanded: so if it is demanded then financial institutions will simply stop handling any payments or transfers that have anything at all to do with Bitcoin. "

FUD or serious shit?

If true,it would to a massive crash, back to sub 50. But its from forbes, so take it with a bag of salt..
I think it's inevitable that we will see something like this happen eventually. And it will certainly cause a pretty big crash in the price. But in the end does it really matter? It will just slow the growth for a while, but ultimately bitcoin can not be stopped and continues to provide a very useful service.  Smiley And also, luckily the US isn't the entire world (yet).
1184  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: May 07, 2013, 05:16:10 PM
There are 11.6k BTC down to $100, in the other direction it will take us past $119. I'm holding.
1185  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: May 07, 2013, 05:09:30 PM
What.  Out of all possibilities a few hours ago, this one seemed the most unlikely.

Tell me about it.  I sold at 98.99 with a buy order at 97.89.  Looks like I will be taking a loss on that position.
1186  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BitTorrent Sync - An inspiration for the blockchain? on: May 07, 2013, 05:05:41 PM
I've been running bittorrent sync for about a week and I love it! I doubt bittorrent sync would work out of the box though, it would require a centralized entity to push new blockchains for people to sync.
1187  Local / Skandinavisk / Re: Wallet på USB on: May 07, 2013, 01:23:19 PM

Tusen takk for svar thekozi! Veldig hjelpsomt.
1188  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: May 07, 2013, 02:06:35 AM
I'm in such a big shit situation, lol

Why?

I bought CNC, lol, at each 1% of btc down it goes 3-4, 25% loss at the moment, if btc crashes it will go to oblivion, though it might happen without that too, hehe

Recovered from first purchase though and made profit, but decided to go in again. I'll wait for another, it will come - now or in 2 years  Grin

Yes, this forum should be for no/se/dk only. Finland should have it's own forum.
1195  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Coinlab are sneaky bastards, investors behind Bitcoinica on: May 05, 2013, 08:13:02 PM
My explanation is to read my full post instead of taking snippets out of context.

I have read your full post and it seems like you're full of shit. There is no explanation.

And this is your reply to that quote, really?
That fat girl is a person you know. Why would you insult her when she's an innocent bystander?

I'm not saying I'm happy Roger Ver lost money, but simply that his life is not really impacted in a huge way compared to someone who barely has enough money to survive or eat because they lost it in Bitcoinica. I seem to recall in Vienna that you were talking about renting out an aeroplane. That's a level of extravagance that goes way way over my head. You probably live far more comfortably than the majority of people do including myself. Don't tell me that 25k out of 50k is more of a loss than $200 of $600. That's the difference between homeless and starving, vs surviving.
1196  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Coinlab are sneaky bastards, investors behind Bitcoinica on: May 05, 2013, 08:01:02 PM
Since you're back, what's your explanation for all this?

For me tbh, I could care less about people like Roger Ver who have a lot of money lost because they have lots more.

Amir,  I look forward to karma coming back to get you.
Believe it or not,  losing 24,000 BTC because of an idiot like you, HAS HAD A BIG BIG IMPACT ON MY LIFE!
People with attitudes like yours give a bad reputation to our entire movement.

Do the world a favor and quit your involvement with Bitcoin.

Sincerely,
Roger Ver

Amir,

I've refrained from getting involved at this point, but how dare you say something like this.

For me tbh, I could care less about people like Roger Ver who have a lot of money lost because they have lots more.

Do you know how much damn work Roger has done to get where he is today? Do you know how many sacrifices he has made for Bitcoin?

Wait...you don't. Know why?

BECAUSE YOU RELEASED THE GODDAMN SOURCE CODE OF BITCOINICA WHICH HAD THE MTGOX API IN IT WHICH LED TO THE THEFT OF ANOTHER 40K BTC AND WHO KNOWS HOW MANY USD.

Your fault! No one elses! How dare you say "Oh, I need time off." Please, I've heard that bullshit before.

Oh, and next time you trash and break a Segway in Vienna that Alex paid for because some fat girl offers you a hug...DONT RUN AWAY AND LEAVE THE SEGWAY IN THE STREET!!!!!! (true story for whoever wants to know. Roger, Erik and myself were there)

1197  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WTF - Kiddy Porn in the Blockchain for life? on: May 05, 2013, 01:31:58 PM
child porn has nothing to with child porn

That is not true. Onionland is filled with real CP, both soft/hardcore, and if you dig deeply into Onionland you will find sites with some gruesome pictures/videos. There are also forums dedicated to discussions how to kidnap, rape/torture children.
No, it is true, because the definition of CP has been expanded to include things such as cartoons, text and fully clothed pictures of 17-year olds posing in what can be subjectivly interpreted as "sexual suggestive positions". That's not CP. No matter how many times you repeat it to yourself it's not CP. Simply open the word definition book and you will realize that.

Sure there exist CP, I never denied that. I'm just saying that the numbers are vastely inflated by things that have no relation to CP. Jailbait isn't CP yet it's what people go to jail for. Cartoons and anime is not CP yet it's what people go to jail for. The real definition of CP differes from the definition in the law, yet the media uses the law book definition and this is what fools people. Again, I recommend reading the article by rick falkvinge that exposes some of this.

And let's not forget that there are also places in Tor where you can apparently hire an assassin as well, don't fall for all the trolling. I doubt there are very many (if any) who actually is into that shit.

Haha oh man, rpietila and his supernodes may become some sort of meme  Cheesy

But in all seriousness, $300k per bitcoin in 2013 is very delusional. Kind of reminds me of how Bruce Wagner went on and on with "price can only go UP UP UP" and "$10000 within the year" back in 2011.

rpietila, you can't ask people to prove a negative, if you believe the price will reach $300k within 2013 it's up to you to lay out the proofs or reasons why you believe so. Sure, facebook as had some wild adoption, but why would bitcoin have the same? it could take years before that happen... You said you pulled the rate of 10-30% weekly growth out of a hat, so it doesn't mean anything. You also don't know the current number of users nor do you know the amount of bitcoins available for sale. It's all speculation and silly bubble talk.

But $300k a coin? A man can dream can't he? A man can dream.

You know bitcoin is going mainstream when imprudent socialist kids have arrived to discuss how bitcoin shouldn't be used for tax avoidance. Got to love it.
