11801  Economy / Gambling / Re: Amaizing game, Guys on: July 15, 2016, 08:22:35 AM
Nice site and idea! Why didn't people think of this before? Are there a lot of players playing in the site? Who are the owners? I like to play but I am scared of depositing money with them. Anyway I think the dice game Yatzy is also a good game to play for bitcoins.
11802  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is their any safe methods to gamble? on: July 15, 2016, 08:14:20 AM
Is their any safe methods to gamble? Means without losing much of our money can gamble?

Any tips or suggestions?

My suggestion for you is don't gamble. You might be the type that think money is very important. Therefore you will be scared of losing. This kind of attitude is what make you lose in the first place. So if you care about your sanity, avoid gambling at all costs.

Ex-Google engineers have spent 2 years secretly trying to solve 'the hardest problem in banking'

NEM / Mijin have the advantage.

Why do you say that NEM/Mijin have the advantage? Can you explain further the technical details of NEM and VaultOS and also make a comparison of both? I would like to gauge the pros and cons of the two platforms.
11804  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NXT] Nxt - Official Thread on: July 15, 2016, 06:55:22 AM
just wondering why NXT price keep coming down, instead of boom up due buying for ardor

Perhaps people don't read. Since the snapshot is an average over 3 months they bought, saw snapshot, then sold no realizing they need to hold for the 3 months.

idk, just a guess.

Or maybe there are traders who know there will be a pump because of the Ardor news and then they dump because the think it will no longer go up. Or maybe they are waiting for price to go down and wait again to acquire more NXT.

But my question is where will the market find the right price that is worth it just to buy NXT in order to acquire Ardor?
11805  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ARDR][NO ICO] Ardor, or Nxt 2.0, a Scalable Child Chain Platform on: July 15, 2016, 06:52:17 AM
Should not the value of NXT decline every time a snapshot of ardor is taken?

The value is subjective, did you mean the price?
If the price declines, people will afford more NXT to get more ARDOR generating more demand for NXT, and price of NXT goes up again. It's a self-sustaining process Wink

But where do you think will it find a balance? I'm sure not everyone will pay for a higher price in NXT just to claim Ardor.
11806  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ARDR][NO ICO] Ardor, or Nxt 2.0, a Scalable Child Chain Platform on: July 15, 2016, 06:50:34 AM
which is the most popular exchange for nxt right now?

Poloniex is the most popular. It has the most volume as of now. And come to think of it it has the most volume with the other popular coins in circulation.
11807  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage - Working Beta - Currency has been released on: July 15, 2016, 06:42:20 AM
Who set up these massive miner pools to dump SIA - are the devs involved?

Read my previous post a cpl above urs

You've got it right, frostminer.  Reading through this thread, a lot of people scare very easily I guess.  I mean, the coin is still BETA!  Some extra hashpower added to the network isn't a bad thing for the coin.  Yes, individual profits may be lower, but the coin itself is just fine.

I can't help but roll my eyes when people panic and start shouting "this coin is dead", when it hasn't even gotten out of beta.  Maybe because I'm a developer and work in software, but I really don't think people understand that development is an iterative process.  Things are constantly being worked on and updated. Be happy you have a GUI wallet and as much functionality as there is....

SIA has one really great thing going for it, if finished.

Decentralized storage has many real life applications.
The potential here is mindblowingly huge.

Ha!  That's exactly what caught my eye the first time I read the OP: their goals for the future. "The long term goal of Sia is to become a serious competitor to existing cloud storage platforms, including Dropbox,
Google Drive, and OneDrive. We envision a future where even massive services such as Netflix and YouTube will use Sia to
deliver the best user experience to their customers."

What an awesome aspiration.  Sure, it's ambitious.  But it at least looks achievable. The tech behind the coin is really impressive, and I'm excited to see what this looks like in year's time.

Yes this is very ambitious and in a good way. But it not yet close to achievable for the time being. Sia's greatest hurdle is scalability.  Until they get past that hurdle, this project is an experiment at best. I am not saying it has no value, it does. But not in the way we think of it. All dreams and promises are still that. But we have to start somewhere.
11808  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: WAVES. Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform. on: July 15, 2016, 06:27:08 AM
The no.3 wallet on Bittrex is owned by Poloniex.

That sounds like an interesting fact. Intriguing if they are actively trading Waves but have yet to adopt Waves on their own platform.

Do some exchanges like to run their own node? Maybe Poloniex is still waiting to set one up.

We're returning it to the purchaser, not the current token hold.
If during the creation period you paid 1.5 eth for 100 dao tokens with address 0xdeadda0, and have since transferred the 100 dao tokens to me at address 0xbeefda0, I would be able to claim 1 eth for the 100 dao tokens (by sending them from 0xbeefda0), and you would be able to claim 0.5 eth by sending a message from 0xdeadda0.

This is very confusing. What if someone decided to invest in the DAO by purchasing them in Poloniex? They will not be entitled to ETH after the hard fork?

On Ponzi’s, Equity Derivatives, and Ethereum

http://www.wallstreettechnologist.com/2016/07/12/on-ponzis-equity-derivatives-and-ethereum/

............Ethereum was a project funded with 18m USD of value mostly in BTC. After writing a whitepaper and creating a proof of concept prototype, they hired developers to write it. Most of them were loaned money and worked for free but were promised exorbitant 20% bonuses after the crowd-sale.  They made a windfall after selling ETH before the blockchain was even in operation in what is called an initial coin offering or ICO to the public. Once the money was raised they patted themselves on the back, and all the developers who were promised pay in stock options (ETH) simultaneously breathed a sigh of relief and cheered.....................

Wow. That article basically says that the Ethereum Foundation is the scum of the Earth and is out there only to profit out of the naivety of the people. In all honesty I find that hard to believe. I think Vitalik is really serious in creating some sort of legacy in crypto. But as we have slowly realized it might not be so.

:)Charts looks ready for break out -would be nice for those who have bought after ICO.
Just need to remember that it can turn south very quickly  in crypto lol.

Yes, I am also closely watching the price in Poloniex. I think it is finally stable at the current price level and this could be the point of accumulation.
11812  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best Gambling Site?! on: July 14, 2016, 10:27:36 AM
I do love playing in gambling sites. I played dice games, plinko, slots, roullete and many more. How about you guys? May I know what is the best gambling sites you played? and what are the available games there? can you discuss it here? TIA Cheesy

always remember: In gambling, you should know when to stops Wink Just a friendly reminder guys Cheesy

I like Nitrogen Sports. They are safe, honest and the site is very easy to use plus they have everything I need from sports betting to casino games. I highly recommend everyone to gamble there.
11813  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your gambling strategy on: July 14, 2016, 10:24:50 AM
First rule do not gamble unless you can afford to lose it.
Secondly if you win get the money and go .
Thirdly if you lose do not keep on playing to recover the lost amount.

Very true. If I may, I would like to add that "if you think of money in terms of what you can buy or get with them when gambling, then don't gamble." A prime example of this is if you lose 1.5 bitcoins and you will think you wasted it because you could have bought an iphone or something with it. If they money is important to you, stay away from gambling.
11814  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The best way to quit gambling for good on: July 14, 2016, 10:15:47 AM
Tell your wife or mother that you have a gambling problem. For sure they will always look and see what you are doing and they will always ask you if your back gambling. That will surely make you stop because you want their annoyance to stop. Cheesy
11815  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Didn't know I can loss all without winning anything on: July 14, 2016, 10:13:59 AM
So I was a bit bored today and I thought to play slots to pass time.
I chose bitstarz since I already got an account in there and I deposited 0.02 btc. I began playing Hyde and Jekyl with 30 credits per bet and right then I lost all 0.02 btc without winning anything. I didn't thought I can loose in gambling consecutive times without winning in a single roll until what happened today.

I immediately regret playing slots.

Just wanted to share this stupidity of mine. I could've jut playe it in dice site. The result would have been the oter way around.

Slots are only good for pass time and not winning. If you to win every now and then play dice games.

I thought poloniex was not adding any new coins..or are they? There is some thread about LBRY being added to polo today. I went to polo and indeed, it is added. Some random coin is added to polo but waves not yet? Not liking it.

https://twitter.com/Poloniex/status/753364545368981505

After doing some quick reading lbry.io has started development since May of 2015. So they maybe have been applying to get listed in Poloniex for a few months now. Waves is fairly new, so I think be patient and I am confident it will get listed if it is developed as promised. Have confidence in Sasha.

just wondering why NXT price keep coming down, instead of boom up due buying for ardor

Yes I was wondering that too. But my guess is maybe the people realized that it is much better to keep NXT at a low price to have the opportunity to buy more for less bitcoins and of course you will also get more Ardor for the lesser cost. So maybe they are avoiding from buying NXT up but are rather making bids on the buy side.
11818  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin Gambling is Exploding on: July 14, 2016, 07:24:35 AM
Bitcoin gambling is exploding, the reason is that bitcoin is anonymous currency and with that you will gamble while do not show your identity to any person and if your govt has banned gambling then you cannot be chased by any of them.

Yes you are right for sure bitcoin gambling is going to be popular and exploding in the future. Just like here in my country , online gambling is going to be ban for sure.
But of course with anonymity of bitcoin they are going to have hard time to track the transactions.
I worked with a person who make services here, developing some projects, being faucet or any other thing, then he sell the bitcoins he gets and sell to some friends that will use that bitcoins to gamble. Soo this already happens where the gamble is forbidden, they use bitcoin.
That is the effect of bitcoins because gambling industry is growing fast to take advantage of the market in the bitcoin community, we have a lot of gamblers here willing to try variety of gambling games and it is easy to do it that is why it growing fast.

It really depends on what games are offered. The bitcoin holders are a smarter bunch and don't tend to gamble blindly. I think some sort of skill betting is most popular among bitcoiners. These are sports betting, black jack and poker.
11819  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How would you ride an obvious pump? on: July 14, 2016, 07:21:21 AM

Quick question folks.

Say... You see a coin starting to get hyped and pumped. You have a feeling it's gonna sky rocket, then implode. What strategy could you use to take a chance on it, while lowering your risk?

I was thinking something along the lines of a strategy such as removing your initial investment once you've doubled your money.

Would that make sense?

Don't join, wait for reversal and short that shit.

But how do we short if exchanges don't allow them? For example in your post STEEM is a good candidate. Where and how can I start in shorting STEEM in Bittrex?
11820  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: NXT 2.0 Ardor No ICO Speculation - Live Now on: July 14, 2016, 07:18:27 AM
I am wondering what will happen after all the Ardor tokens are distributed. I'm sure a lot of "investors" bought NXT only to acquire free Ardor. But I am speculating that when the distribution is over people will dump both NXT and Ardor making a double whammy profit. Unless there is an agreement among the big buyers to hold after distribution.

I don't think NXT will be worth much after the snapshots. Crypti got pumped during the Lisk IPO but now its been dumped down to the bottom of the top 100 whereas Lisk is still in the top 10. The same will probably happen to NXT and Ardor.

So you mean to say you speculate that Ardor will be held by investors but NXT will be dumped? Now that I come to think of it, you may be wrong. NXT and Crypti are in different situations. Ardor is a child chain of NXT while Lisk is a totally new blockchain. In Ardor are all the features of NXT plus more and in Lisk is a brand new untested platform. The people behind Ardor might have the upper hand from a continuity perspective and this could translate to NXT and Ardor complementing each other with each giving and taking what it has to offer with the two.
