Anyone object to me sending late donations to them too? I'll keep it under 100BTC total

May I suggest sending them the balance owed once we reach the sum needed? EDIT: Just reread your question and it makes sense now, so it's not a problem to send the balance once we reach it.

Rassah, psy has also donated BTC1 via my PM. Not private, for he did state that he was going to do such in the Project Development thread.

Finally donated - not read the thread for a while but noticed your new threads.

https://blockchain.info/tx/24c6cd8228392dcf27ee624aeb4a57792dca3d9c86d7b04d3f149fa119c923b0

Thank you, dancupid, for your donation. I will now update the list in the OP of this thread reflecting the transaction.

I'll send 1 BTC

PM me an address.

Thanks, psy. The only address we use at the moment is in my sig: 1BTC1oo1J3MEt5SFj74ZBcF2Mk97Aah4ac

I have to no access to any funds there. Only Rassah and Roger Ver do, if that's a concern for anybody.

Coins have been send, but we're a tad short. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=52543.msg1399632#msg1399632

I have penned another thread in this section to garner pledges (not donations, unless...).

11944  Bitcoin / Project Development / Bitcoin 100 Pledge Drive (not a donation drive, unless...) on: December 14, 2012, 02:44:48 PM
Bitcoin 100 is currently conducting a pledge drive. All one has to do to participate is to pledge their support openly committing at least one bitcoin to be honored anytime in the future. That is all! In light of the following https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=52543.msg1399632#msg1399632 if you feel like donating now, that too would be much appreciated, but not required.

I will donate BTC1 toward Bund in the name of the next eight new people who pledge. I'm already committed to BTC2 thanks to Akka and giszmo's support. Currently, Bitcoin 100 is short about a dozen coins in sending the balance to Bund, hence this drive.

Thank you in advance,

~Bruno K~
11945  Economy / Services / Re: Introducing the Bitcoin 100: A Kickstarter for Charities on: December 14, 2012, 02:20:33 PM
To everyone supporting Bitcoin100,

BUND Berlin e.V. wants to thank you for accepting us in your charity initiative and your generous efforts in supporting us with the great bitcoin donation, that arrived to us last night. Thank you all, who are involved in Bitcoin100 and who recommended donations to get us "kickstarted" with Bitcoin. This is a very new experience for us and still a positive one. So, we hope this will go on a long time. :-)
Last but not least, we hope, that our Bitcoin activities will be a helpful contribution to promote the Bitcoin issue furthermore.

We wish all of you some nice christmas days and for Bitcoin100 a continuing advance in supporting many other NGOs.

Regards,
Thorsten Edler
BUND Berlin e.V.

=PS=
And to all of you, who perhaps were too late with donations for the BUND-fund at Bitcoin100 and would like to reacht 100 BTC (we're at 85 now), don't worry, because: 1BboU9QH4kcNeDqdr7xBUZ4GrFgfhNaVBd is still with you (and us)!
So, dare to use it. ;-)

Looks like I got my Christmas present. How does everybody else feel about the above?

We still came up short, but I promise to get them the balance within the next six days one way or another starting with the following:

Because of this:

Let me know when to send. We're only up to about 67 now

Are there still some BTC missing for the 100 towards Bund?

I'm a little short right now, but I don't want to see this fail.

I'm willing to donate 3 additional BTC if there is still something missing.

In this case I would send the donation in about 8 Hours. (Going to bed now its late here)

Thank you again, Akka. Rassah will add to this his ledger and I will now adjust the list in the OP of this thread.

The bottom line is that we are only a dozen plus coins short, two of which I'm committed to adding. Therefore, it's not a dire situation, but I want Bitcoin 100 to be in a better position for the next charitable organization--hopefully LPA.

I thought the threads going to German Off-topic was funny.  I'm disappointed to learn that it wasn't intentional.

Twelve threads moved to the German section, then moved out. But to where? I only found a couple in English Off-topic. Now it's like 'Hunt the Boeing'.

Look harder.

I think I stepped in some bear shit.  Grin

With that, I'm goin' to this-one-is-too-soft bed.

Money away: https://blockchain.info/tx/06f74b2bf6729da73e3c764119041e44b67ebf86d96d522d326170d12769faf7
66.88189276 BTC sent from Btc100, or about $911USD at today's rates.

And Phinn's remaining contributed GENEROUS balance of 17.65975192 BTC
https://blockchain.info/tx/b8482e2505db51c508992e0ce42da2c463d3883b36eb51af27d363a903e531f2

In total, this charity has received $1,192.41 USD. It's not 100BTC, but it's not too bad, either  Cheesy

In case anyone needs it, updated account sheet is still here http://goo.gl/Mk3hp

HOWEVER, I'm transferring all that to GNUCash (one transaction at a time  Tongue), because this spreadsheet has gotten too big and unwieldy. I can post copies of the GNUCash file in public for anyone to peruse, as well as post reports.

Great goin', Rassah. I can now go to bed. In the morning I want read if the first symbols in your sig is of a cat or am I just seeing things?

Later, bud.

Yup, by single username Phin has the most posts. I wonder how many posts Atlas has made through his various sockpuppets though.

6,388, but whose counting?

Give them something from Russia (with Love).

11950  Other / Off-topic / Re: What should I do for my 1000th post? on: December 14, 2012, 03:08:55 AM
It's 2 posts away - I'm kind of scared.  Don't want to post unless I have something interesting to say.

Boobies.

10,000 or 1,000? BTW...

By the way, just was to point out that we have gotten at least $100 worth of donations from self-identified BTC scammers and thieves over the year. Maybe mixing stolen coins, maybe just being gnerous with their booty, but... meh.

Sounds good to me. If somebody barks, we'll (I"ll) fix it then. Thanks, Rassah.

Bruno: I donated towards the address in your sig. Transaction ID in my other post.

I got it giszmo and have already thanked your for the transaction. The following is how it's registered in the OP of this thread.

Quote
121. giszmo (Donated BTC1 toward Bund)

Let me know when to send. We're only up to about 67 now

Let's do it, Rassah. Please add to the total every bitcoin I have on account. We'll still be short, but the goal will be to send the balance in about a week one way or another. Bear in mind there are two addresses, and I'm not sure which one you're sending to, but just make the best call. (click the links)

1BboU9QH4kcNeDqdr7xBUZ4GrFgfhNaVBd

or via BitPay.

1FAnKYLhigeGnc9S5jm2u3MUa9C19cUmYt

I'm leaning toward the former, but again you decide what's best.

Let me know when to send. We're only up to about 67 now

We sure are, Akka. Your donation will be appreciated. Please send it the Bitcoin 100 address (it's in my sig) therefore enabling us to keep are promise. Thanks again, bud.

There is an old saying passed down through generations....

When I die, I want to go peacefully in my sleep like my grandfather did.  Not screaming in terror like the passengers in his car.

I remember reading decades ago about an old man who died in his rocking chair on his porch. A loved one discovered him shortly after his death--and he was still rocking.

Another story I recall is one of a person died laughing while watching Johnny Carson.

Back in the late 80's, the president of the largest drywall supply company in Nashville died during sex with his mistress in a hotel room. Oddly enough, I too had the pleasure of bedding his secretary, albeit prior to his demise.

That just terrifies me. If anyone dies driving a car that I am, I will find some way to shove them out the window and regain control. Unrealistic, but Christ that's a terrifying thought. Albeit not the first time I've heard that idiom.

And now other story I recall. Car hits viaduct killing driver and passenger. Female passenger didn't see it coming (double entendre) because her head (double entendre) was facing the opposite direction.

Sounds like she was between a rock and a hard place. Or thing.

<raise glass>

He is remembered!

To paraphrase the opening of a BOC song for the occasion: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PDgJpQZae0E

Raise your shot of Neft on high
Sealing Bitcoin's fate forever
We've proved the protocol's not a lie
The golden age of money

EDIT: Perhaps a sentimental fool, but upon listening to the song (one of my favorites) I couldn't help but muse the lyrics in a different light. The original lyrics below, but later I may tackle a rewrite.

Quote
"Golden Age Of Leather"

Raise your can of beer on high
And seal your fate forever
Our best years have past us by
The golden age of leather

This was the night not long to come in the year of our Lord A.D.
Where in a desert way-house, poised on the brink of eternity
Four and ninety studded horsemen closed the knot of honor
As only drunken soldiers can

And passed from man to man, a wanton child to dead to care
That each would find his pleasure as he might
For this fantastic night was billed as nothing less than the end of
an age
A last crusade, a final outrage, in this day of flacid plumage

And there was worn no cloth but leather
Made supple by years of stinging cinders
And here were seen the scars of age
For age had been the common call for one last night together

Down colored the sky (the ritual feast)
Some had died (they were buried with their bikes)
Each grabbed a rag (from a man with a sack)
Torn strips of color (the red and the black)

We made a vow to give it all we had to give
We made a vow to die as we had lived

They flew the colors, they began to fight
They flailed at each other like bugs at a light
Bodies and bikes beyond repair
Smell of oil and gas in the air

Then the wind whipped the desert with a giant hand
And the humans and the Harleys caught the shifting sand
And the old ranger weathered the storm
And he topped the rise by the middle of morn
He saw rippled dunes, calm and surreal
And a glint of a shaft of chromium steel

Golden age...

I feel sorry for this poor guy, he should not die.

The world would be inhospitable if no one died.  It's natural.  I'm not afraid to die; I'm afraid to suffer before I die.

My mom suffered, even once wakening during an operation. My dad didn't. Was sitting up only a couple hours prior to us giving him his finale bath while awaiting the take-away-van.

I normally shed a tear(s) when encountering something like this, but viewing Zach's wonderful tenacity for life sealed my nasolacrimal ducts. One can argue it's akin to being at a Jehovah Witness funeral where everybody is joyous.
