11941  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Best online wallet on: June 12, 2016, 01:44:21 PM
It is best to just avoid web wallets. Why do you need to use one? How about a desktop wallet, something in the lines of Electrum?

What about Multibit? Would you recommend it to newbies?
11942  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If bitcoin reach it's limit on: June 12, 2016, 01:39:16 PM
When the Bitcoin will reach its limit.
And it continued to grow, you think the price of Bitcoin will increase?

Please rephrase your question. What do you mean "its limit"? Do you mean when all Bitcoins are already mined?

The answer to that is no one knows for sure. Some say the miners will keep supporting the network and live off the transaction fees. But given that, the miners might not include your transaction if your fee given is not high enough. This will result in a competition to give higher fees maybe making transactions in BTC way higher than normal.

About your question on BTC's price increase, it might go up or down. The market decides what its price is moment by moment. But hopefully its price will be way higher than what it is right now. Smiley

11944  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin the future of online gambling? on: June 10, 2016, 02:01:39 AM

What are the chances for the most widespread cryptocurrency to become the de-facto universal payment solution in one of the most diverse segments of the Internet?

- Read full article HERE and don't forget to share your thoughts with us Wink

I would not go that far and say Bitcoin is the future of online gambling, but it does offer as a good option for deposits and withdrawals at gambling sites. The market for Bitcoin gambling is not that huge and most the Bitcoins are hoarded by the people because it's treated more as a commodity-investment than an everyday currency.
11945  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Altcoin to invest in for 2016 and WHY on: June 10, 2016, 01:47:46 AM
The best coin to invest in right now is Lisk.

In second place I think would be Ethereum.

I agree. Lisk and Ethereum have been getting the lime light lately. But with Ethereum, I think they have been getting negative press because of the security flaws in the DAO. According to coindesk.com, it will take months before they can fully fix them.

Maybe Waves will also attract investors as soon as the listing starts on June 14.  It is built on the Scorex platform which is Hoskinson's project. So it should be good.

Do you guys still use Bitstamp? I noticed there's not much mention of it in this thread. Is it still ok to trade there?
11949  Economy / Economics / Re: Next generation money on: June 09, 2016, 05:39:06 PM
I do not think we could classify BTC solely as 'money'. It's a whole new asset class that has no classification at the moment. Even the regulators are confused. It's neither a currency or a commodity, but it has the qualities of both.

And in response to OP's point that 'Bitcoin didn't revolutionize money', sure you can say that. But one good thing about it is it makes banks unnecessary when making transactions online. That's really something in a world where all our financial transactions depend on banks for the longest time. Although Bitcoin didn't revolutionize money, it started a revolution nevertheless.

11952  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do Atheists hate Religion ? on: June 09, 2016, 05:06:50 AM
So I see 2 threads of why islam hates people or why people hate Islam. I dont see the point of such a mundane debate based on religion any debate for or against religion would be stupid. Either you are stupid to believe what a prophet / god / divine entity said or you are stupid enough to believe you can change the minds of the bleak minded people who follow such a prophet / god / divine entity.

But since its fun let me initiate my own brand of 'why do' topic.

WHY DO ATHEISTS (like me) HATE RELIGION ?

Seriously what has to happen in a person's life for them to seriously give up hope on the one true everlasting brand (of religion) which their ancestors have followed for generations.

Everyone has their own story even I have mine, so lets hear some of it.

Hate religion? No. Hate the hypocrisy? Definitely YES.

Tho I'm an atheist, I still believe its good for people to have beliefs or priciples in life.  But when you impose your beliefs on others, that's when it becomes bad.
11953  Other / Off-topic / Re: If i give you 10 BTC what will you do? on: June 08, 2016, 03:22:41 PM
I want ask anyone if i give you 10 Btc what will you do. because i want investment but i have no any good idea to invest it (except gambling) but i don't like dambling. So i want ask you viewS.

Run away. Hehehe.

But kidding aside if I had 10 BTC, I will think of what items are good to sell at OpenBazaar and use that to grow the initial 10 BTC. There's nothing like starting an honest business to make money. I mostly see people here like to invest in altcoins and hope to hit that lucky coin that will make them millions. That's gambling at most if you do not have experience.

11955  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin be replaced by another cryptocurrency? on: June 08, 2016, 02:21:07 PM
Bitcoin will not be replaced but some coins will exist with it. I think it could be ETH.

Litecoin is still there no matter how dead it may seem. I still have my litecoin and its value is growing still. how dead was it?

I don't think so. Ethereum is good but it also has its fair share of problems with blockchain bloat and scalability. ETH is not intended to be used for payments but as fuel for Ethereum when executing a DAPP in the platform. It is a different animal. Although it may surpass Bitcoin's market cap, I think a platform that is financed and supported by the huge banks and by the G7 nations is more likely to become the king of crypto.

11958  Other / Politics & Society / Tor developer allegedly intimidated sexual harassment victims into silence on: June 08, 2016, 01:47:23 AM
http://www.dailydot.com/politics/jacob-appelbaum-tor-project-suspension-sexual-misconduct-victims/

In the wake of programmer Jacob Appelbaum's abrupt departure from the Tor Project, rumors and accusations about both sexual misconduct and bullying have surfaced that extend back years. Now, four witnesses -- including a current senior Tor employee -- are stepping forward into the public eye, adding valuable insight into how Appelbaum allegedly intimidated those around him to keep accusations of sexual misconduct secret and pressure those who are speaking out to remain anonymous. [Late last week, a website was launched in which alleged victims of Appelbaum's sexual misconduct joined together to post their stories in an effort to publicize them without a much-feared wave of personalized and professional backlash. The stories are graphic and describe the ways Appelbaum allegedly assaulted people in public and in private. Three current Tor employees -- two of which agreed to be named on the record -- have confirmed that they personally know the authors of the alleged victim statements on the site, JacobAppelbaum.net. Although they continue to maintain anonymity for the authors of the stories, these Tor employees are now publicly vouching for the site's authenticity, which Appelbaum has called into question. Appelbaum broke his silence on Monday, deriding the accounts of his former colleagues as "vague rumors." It was an "attack," he said, on his reputation, led by character-assassins spreading "vicious and spurious" allegations against him.] In May, one of Tor's core software developers dodged the FBI and left the U.S. for Germany to avoid testifying in a criminal hacking investigation.

Hell yes! Finally God has spoken!

The article doesn't so much about what platform they're building, or are they still in the research stage? I'm sure they have already taken a look at IPFS and the like, but I'm not so sure he's aware of the cryptocurrency movement trying to decentralize the web and storage with platforms like Storj.

Inviting him here at bitcointalk might be a good idea and could spark intelligent and insightful discussions amount forum members. Does he have a twitter account? Wh not drop him a tweet.

I think almost anyone who is not from China would rather recieve USD than Yuan if they had a choice.
