I've said it in 2017 and I'll say it again: high fees are bad for adoption. I don't really care how, but Bitcoin needs to scale! For example, due to the necessary fast confirmation, only in the past two months I have spent more than $200 in fees for a handful of txs. Was that really necessary? I still make on-chain Bitcoin transactions, but with some planning managed to keep fees a lot lower. For instance, I now use Bitcoin on the Lightning Network whenever possible. And sometimes, when that isn't possible, I am indeed forced to pay with Forkcoins or altcoins to avoid paying very high fees on very low amounts. I have over 10 payments that I've sent with a previously decent fee (6-8sat/vbyte) that haven't been confirmed although it's been about two weeks ever since they've been broadcasted. This is what I mean by "planning": would it have been possible to combine those transactions (by using "pay to many")? Avoiding fees by combining transactions and reducing change outputs is really worth it, and it helps everyone else too when you occupy less block space. with a clogged network, current (or future) Bitcoin users will start leaving Bitcoin for alts. Change my mind. I can only speak for myself: I may be using some alts/Forks for some payments, but only to optimize my fee payments. I'll never exchange my Bitcoin for alts other than spending small amounts. I could even argue the other way around: I've used altcoins to buy Bitcoin Lightning Network on an instant exchange. This gives the best of both worlds: I get rid of a shitcoin, pay low fees, and get the real Bitcoin with low fees on LN in return. Lightning network is available, but not knowing why people are not just adopting it, this is one of the best solution for fast transaction and cheapest fee. Not when the average guy using BTC doesn't even know how LN works and so few people/companies are accepting it.. "The average guy" doesn't really know how to use Bitcoin either, and just "trades" it on an exchange. For LN, I recommend anyone to try this: I've tried many (but won't mention the inconvenient ones). I now only use BlueWallet and Phoenix Wallet. The former has custodial LN, the latter non-custodial. Both on Android, both wallets take care of channels (they charge a small percentage fee for this), incoming capacity and connectivity. There's not much you have to setup manually (just create your backups). You can actually buy Bitcoin LN for as little as $1 worth of shitcoins. refuse to try out Lightning wallets locking up BTC to play a partner. in a game of joint bank account chequebooks in a millisat denomination.. is not continuing to own bitcoin I know you don't like Bitcoin LN, and that's fine. I like it, I use it, and it works just fine Second layer Bitcoin is as safe as it gets. There are much worse "alternatives": people are actually throwing Bitcoin to all kinds of BS tokens on shitcoin chains! And unlike LN, they hand over large amounts of Bitcoin to third parties for this. When you withdraw Bitcoin from Binance, it shows all kinds of BS that isn't Bitcoin: Who falls for that?! At least LN is still the real deal and can be settled on-chain. "Tokens" are just a scam waiting to happen. I'm pretty sure Lightning wallets were never meant for storing all your holdings; pretty much like your physical pocket cash wallet. That is how I use LN. If it fails, I lose some pocket change. But it has saved me more in on-chain fees already than I've ever had in LN at once.
It's kinda sad though that I can't easily demonstrate Bitcoin to nocoiners anymore. It used to be possible to give someone $20 worth of Bitcoin, and they could make many transactions to experience how it works. Those times are gone on-chain, and I don't really want to spend $200 just to demonstrate Bitcoin (and waste it on fees).

If you've ever read the disrespectful way that the person that goes by the dubious user profile name "Lauda" trash talks about women (both specific women and women in general), then you'll be under no illusions that "Lauda" is in fact a man. What if Lauda is both man and woman?

Out of curiosity... how many addresses are in your list of all addresses ever used? I've just run the create-address-db.py script... and it came up with 793,722,051 unique addresses (as at ~block# 674206) I counted last summer: Some interesting (?) statistics (updated until blockchair_bitcoin_outputs_20200719.tsv.gz) Unique address count: 693,180,8301... address count: 470,943,308 3... address count: 167,941,821 bc1q... address count: 39,137,878 ...-... (with a "dash") weird address count: 15,157,808 That makes your current number plausible. I'm starting to think gzip compression does a terrible job at compressing Bitcoin addresses.

~ That's cute, you're trying to insult me with this: Did you not read my personal text? It's okay you don't like me. Really, it's okay. But you're posting in the wrong topic, try this one. It would also be nice if you stick to just one topic, I wouldn't want to end up like your feud with Vod, but you seem to enjoy attacking my reputation in many topics for months now. It's a cheap trick though, you know I won't respond to your off-topic allegations in other topics, so you're hoping some of it will stick. What was it again you threatened me with by PM? Something about feeling insulted ( by facts!) and threatening with negative feedback for your hurt feelings? Shortly after, you were excluded from DT. People like you who have had next to no real trustworthy interactions here shouldn’t even be in DT This is gold, coming from the person who put me on DT when DT1 was still centralized. You must miss those times. For the record: you've never been on my Trust list. I didn't delete your rant because this part is on-topic. Incorrect, but on-topic: You and suchmoon are just as scummy as Vod in my opinion, only you do so in the shadows. That’s why I excluded you from my network. In reality, you removed me from your Trust list because I didn't support you in your feud with Vod, and you excluded me in retaliation for my exclusion. Let me quote myself on this: The users excluding me aren't really Bitcointalk's crème de la crème anyway: Thanks for posting your reasoning behind excluding users, I've added you to the list: Please elaborate on your reasoning behind the rest of the 61 users you've excluded. I would especially like to hear about mutual exclusions.

Request: in the DefaultTrust Change Log, the search field only shows the latest entries for that user. I'd like to be able to search all data for a username, is that possible?

But i dont want to post it public, who wanna help PM me, i am willing to share the "Illuminati" BTC PKs.
I share 1, and who find maybe the solution, will get another one, as thank you ...
Is this a good offer ? Or did i break with this, one of the forum rules ?? I can take a look if you want, but make no promises about the likelyhood of me being able to recover anything. What I can do upfront is make a deal on what percentage will be mine if I figure it out. If it's 0.5 BTC (or more), there's no need for 100% of that amount (let alone "another one as thank you"). If you're sharing the private key with multiple people, you'll never know who took it if anyone takes everything. If you're going to share private keys, I suggest doing something like this: Don't send private keys from a standard email that doesn't encrypt messages. The easiest way to send private keys (or seed words, depending on your wallet) is if you create a Protonmail account. My email: LoyceVswitzerland@protonmail.com This way, the email has end-to-end encryption and should be secure. There's of course always the risk of your (or my) computer being compromised. Alternatively, you can send half of each private key to my Protonmail email, and the other half by Bitcointalk PM. This way the parts don't end up on the same email account. If it's hand-written on paper, a picture may be better to avoid making mistakes typing.
You may want to discuss this with whoever has the rights to his inheritance first.

I found the man and he gave me 5 more addresses with PK like the one in the txt file, all around 0.5-1.1 btc on it. ~ He is a bit dementia I guess he didn't know he gave you a quarter million dollars? cant remember how they make the bitcoins to money, but all happend on a pc with a Bitcoin Core software he had ~ What i figure out with all the PK i saw is
53 Characters hex format no big I or big O letters Crazy idea: get Bitcoin Core, or even an older version that was around when those keys were created, install it on an offline system, and try to somehow import these keys. And they have use 3 in 2015 or 2016 or 2017 to go on a fishing trip. Do you (did he) still have the keys written down for the emptied addresses? If so, is that something you can share?

Let's find out! <-------------------------------highly NSFW image censored------------------------------->

And also use it as the main image in the unlikely event that I ever get bored of my... foxhole surplus. Done! It's hooked to your personal text now, if you're no longer a Vixen, you get the other picture on isfoxpupstillaNSFWvixen.today. I can't test it though.

- It seems to me, or is someone trying to bribe the leader of the gang? By competing on the small flux capacitor market? How dare you! - Maybe then you should think about hosting this image as well? Sure: isfoxpupstillaNSFWvixen.today/no.png

i sent to coinbase You sent $12,500,000 to Coinbase? The fact that most of your post history is about small Bitcoin transactions with low fees, I have a hard time believing this.I found the transaction and it has multiple outputs. It makes sense that one of them is yours, and this transaction came from an exchange.

One hundred and third week paid. Thanks again for your flawless timing! And since for some reason time travel can happen only once to each moment in history (is it just me or does your time machine come with the same restriction?), I couldn't try again. Well, let's put my freshly upgraded flux capacitors to the test I've extended isfoxpupstillaNSFWvixen.today for another year at exactly xx hours (depending on time zone), 20 minutes and 00 seconds. Let's see if I can post this at the exact same time too. I may need to travel back a few times, or just use the magic of editing. Update: I'm disappointed, Namecheap needed a full 10 seconds to process my timely order: Domain Name: isfoxpupstillansfwvixen.today Registry Domain ID: a9f76282887f43fe9262c396f0a2ac08-DONUTS Registrar WHOIS Server: whois.namecheap.com Registrar URL: https://www.namecheap.com/ Updated Date: 2021-03-10T18:20:10Z Creation Date: 2020-03-11T06:47:18Z Registry Expiry Date: 2022-03-11T06:47:18Z

There is a 6 GB address database for bitcoin That can't be right for all addresses, my list of all Bitcoin addresses ever used is 16 GB compressed. If the addresses in this wallet were only used more recently than January 30th, then perhaps he could use your data Loyce to create his own database. My 830 MB list has only the funded addresses, but the first addresses derived from a seed might have been emptied already, which means you'll need to generate more than one address for each seed, depending on how many addresses were created using that seed.

Have you had any luck tracking down an address from this wallet yet? I'm not sure how easy or otherwise it is to use an address database with a passphrase brute force - I've only ever tried it with a seed phrase brute force. If btcrecover can just output a list of potential addresses, getting the balance is easy: This takes only seconds to check millions of addresses. If your text file has Microsoft formatting, you may need to use this instead: comm -12 Bitcoin_addresses_LATEST.txt <(cat mylist.txt | fromdos | sort | uniq)
|
|
|
Only thing we will need is email verified when registering for account in the future. Would it be possible to go without email verification, and just get a unique account number instead? That's what Mullvad VPN uses, just 16 digits is all you need to access your account, and you can instantly make a new one when needed.

It's the bech2 type address, my MyCelium wallet is unable to send to those. In that case, you should probably upgrade to the latest version of Mycelium.

If you have the balance, you can input the BTC amount in preev.com to see its value. Don't confuse mBTC (milli Bitcoin) in Electrum and BTC on preev.com. You may not be able to afford that jet yet

Last weekend, transactions with 6 sat/byte got confirmed. This will at some point get processed too, fees have been dropping for 2 weeks. As long as you trust the sender, it will get there (eventually).
