121  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you believe that digital currencies will replace Fiat? on: November 15, 2017, 04:07:30 AM
this will never happen, have read tons of question like this but no, an unregulated currency replacing fiat? no way, it's ok be a dreamer but come on, be real.
Way too many interest behind, big company, government, banks and so on, it will never happen (at least while we're alive who knows what will happen in 150 years?)

I agree with this comment. I don't understand why people still asking this kind of question which really have an obvious answer which is not. Bitcoin price is in fiat whic is why we can say that it has a high value, so if fiat is out then how can we get the value of bitcoin. Maybe bitcoin is more comparable to gold or any other valuable materials which has limited stocks than saying it will replace the circulating money in our world today.
122  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can someone explain this to me on: November 14, 2017, 04:40:05 PM
I have only been into crypto currencies for a few weeks so forgive me if my question is daft...
If bitcoin is at such an early stage in terms of taking over even a small percentage of the world monetary system, and yet it is having to fork to resolve technical issues, is there not a more efficient crypto currency out there that wouldn't have these problems?
For example, if vertcoin had to handle the same volume of transactions would it perform better?
With over 1200 crypto currencies out there I don't understand why bitcoin still dominates. Surely there are technically far superior solutions out there. I know it was the first one but does this alone warrant it being the most popular?

I think it is simple, bitcoin is the original and those other coins are made because of the bitcoin success. Even if there comes more altcoins out there, it will be useless if they have small value or nothing at all. They will never have if people are ignoring to use them. That is tje law of supply and demand, plain and simple. And that is why bitcoin is still on top of cryptos.
123  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Does Bitcoin work for online shopping? on: November 14, 2017, 11:16:50 AM
When you buy something on eBay or Amazon, you pay the seller, he ships the product and upload a tracking number.
If you haven't received the item, you can call eBay or Amazon and, basically, what happens is that if they have a tracking number that shows that the item has been delivered, then it is ok, otherwise eBay or Amazon reverses the transaction and you get your money back.
Is that possible with bitcoin? What if I buy a boat online for 2 bitcoins and I never receive it? Is bitcoin able to solve this problem?

Thanks

Bitcoin uses internet so on line shopping is very much possible and it is already done by some on line shopping sites. The reliability depends on the integrity of the site or the person you want buy your items from. So I think it is for your own risk if you really want to use your bitcoin to buy online because no one is regulating bitcoin. Everyone using bitcoin can be a victim of a scammer, so it is up to us to check if you are transacting to someone online.
124  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin is the new era of currency? on: November 12, 2017, 05:58:53 AM
Yes, I think bitcoin is the new era of currency because as we all know, it is a product of technology. Bitcoin is  related to evolution of our new era of technology because without the devices like computers and smart phones, you cannot use bitcoin. And also it requires internet connections in order to for it work and be processed.
125  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did you ever convince or encourage someone to invest in Bitcoin? on: November 09, 2017, 07:47:56 PM
Bitcoin has been awesome and will always be awesome. We, who have been involved in Bitcoin since the very early days understand this very well. However, for the laymen, for the people who don't really understand the technical aspects of Bitcoin or those who only watch the mainstream media are skeptic about Bitcoin. Since, all they hear in the News is how Bitcoin can be used for illegal activities and how it offers complete anonymity (common misconception) to people to do what they need on Internet.

Have you ever convinced or encouraged anyone to invest in Bitcoin and did you have success? Of course, since we know that we are giving a good advice, so we would usually advice our own family members or friends about this.

In the past few months, I encouraged some of my friends to invest in Bitcoin. They had a lot of questions about it from technical perspective and I helped them understand. They invested in Bitcoin and are very happy with the returns. And now this information propagates and more people will get involved in Bitcoin.

In my humble opinion, as a Bitcoin enthusiast, we can help understand people the positive aspects of Bitcoin. The price of Bitcoin is still in the very initial stages and those of us who really understand what Bitcoin offers, know that Bitcoin Price is only 1/10th of what it's worth right now.

What are the most common responses you get from laymen about investing in Bitcoin?

Some popular ones I receive are:

1. "Oh, it's already too expensive, I cannot afford to buy it."
2. "The governments don't regulate it, why should I invest in it?"
3. "It's an illegal currency and only cyber criminals use it."
4. "What backs up Bitcoin? For example US Dollar is backed by Trust (all time favorite response Cheesy), but what backs up Bitcoin?"
5. "The market is way too volatile to invest."
6. "You can't really use Bitcoin as a currency."

I just share some useful trivia and knowledge about bitcoin to close friends. Then I leave the rest for them to decide. I think it is really up to them if they will accept the value of bitcoin today. If they will become intersted, it is good for.them, but they have to do the deep research and understanding about what really bitcoin is.
126  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Saving Bitcoins for your Children. on: November 08, 2017, 07:25:36 PM
Like every other investment such as real estate, stocks and other forms of investment we know that you can invest in that kind of things and then you get something like say a Certificate or a Binding Document as a proof that you are part of that investment, now that of bitcoin all you have is just your address, your password, key and seeds as proof of the ownership of the wallet.

BTC

So now if one is considering buying bitcoins and saving for his/her children in the future is there any way to do that with bitcoins apart from having to write down your details somewhere. I'm asking because with that kind of stuff if no one knows your seeds or password no one can get the coins. Huh Huh Huh

Then maybe we can create a new wallet for our child(ren) and fund it from time to time. It will be like opening a trust fund in a bank for them. And then when they grew up maybe we can open the door of cryptocurrency for them by teaching them some basics that might interest them. But actually, if you have btc and you are a family person then it's safe to assume that your husband/wife should know your keys and other informations about your btc holdings. With that, they can have access to your btc if something unexpected came.
127  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is holding bitcoin Greedy? on: November 08, 2017, 06:53:36 PM
Most people now with the rise of bitcoin value, just want to hold bitcoin for as long as they can so that they can maximize their worth. But isn't it a little too greedy to just keep holding bitcoin?
We've all read that story in the school with the moral "Greed is a Curse".
So what if too much greed in bitcoin may backfire? What if, the hodlers end up with nothing?

I don't think hodling btc is being greedy. It's just like you having acquired a gold bar or a gold jewelry. You value it and keep it safely in your safebox but you're not considered as greedy person. In fact, hodling is good for the community because it contributes with the scarcity of supplies which led to a higher price in btc due to high demands.
128  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Help me in understanding bitcoins on: November 08, 2017, 06:34:03 PM
Hey Guys,

Can you help me in understanding bitcoins , the ecosystem , origin and how it really works. I tried to find them but information is available in bits and pieces so looking forward for your help in it.

Thanks,
Gaurav

Bitcoin needs internet, and you are using internet. Everything about bitcoin is all over the internet. So the best thing you should do is to type in bitcoin in your google search bar and press enter. Reading is the best way to understand it because if everyone here explains bitcoin to you, you will be never understand because I think we have different opinions about bitcoin that is why we are here in this forum.
129  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The advantages of bitcoin on: November 08, 2017, 05:31:32 PM
I strongly agree that bitcoin has many advantages. For me the advantages of bitcoin in addition to increase income as well as the right investment for a better future

Yes, me too. I think most of the bitcoin users were attracted in the first place by the income that bitcoin will be given to them. And also people are thinking of the future economy which will be have a big role for bitcoin and other cryptocurrency. It is a technology, and that is has more advantages than the current fiat. We evolving our form of living that is why we have to adapt the technology, end because of that, we have bitcoin.
130  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why people attract for the BitCoin than other crypto currency? on: November 08, 2017, 04:20:27 PM
The answer is very simple, I think it is all because the popularity of bitcoin compared to other cryptocurrencies. That is why is has the highest price value. When media is talking about digital currencies, they always reffer first to bitcoin. Additional attractment is the testimonial of us, the users of bitcoin which also attracts people. We motivate our friends and relatives to also invest into bitcoin because of what it can do to our financial needs.
131  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ok guys, Need some help with a negative friend! on: November 08, 2017, 03:14:15 PM
Hi guys, I have a friend who is determined to prove me wrong in regards to bitcoin. Before I respond to him, I thought I would post what he's wrote to me in attempt to "Stump" me and try to get me to stop with bitcoin. I think it will be interesting to see all replies from the bitcoin experts in here and to get a different reply than mine so I can put together a solid reply back. I'll post his email to me below. Thanks in advance.

"I read a lot of the negative aspects of bitcoin and I'm not understanding why you're crazy over it, it keeps appreciating because nobody is cashing out. Since it's not a government regulated currency to exchange, people are getting robbed left right and center going on these black market sites trying to cash out. I don't doubt you can sell the coins, but now people are afraid to try because there's no legitimate way to tell if you loose your money. People are running ponzi schemes because when you trade in the coins there's waiting periods before you get the "cash" and thats when these website wrap shit up and leave you high and dry. I remember you telling me that you can spend the coins in many natural places. That's isn't here in Canada. There is way too much negativity to support the investment for me. The positives are what's making the coin valuable, but in order for something to go up in value dramatically like this we have to think that it's not being sold anywhere and being the rare commodity that is it will naturally go up due to scarcity.
I really think you're making a big mistake with this stuff like everyone else."

The best thing to do is ignore him, if he doesn't want bitcoin then its up to him if he does not want an extra income or an investment. It is his loss not yours. Maybe there are close minded people who are really not meant to be into new technology. If you already explain everything about bitcoin and still he doesn't want it, then its all up to him. You've already done your part.
132  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is it possible? on: November 08, 2017, 01:23:24 PM
Can bitcoin be the world's currency?

Not sure about this but for me it will not happen. Btc can be used as a currency when purchasing or transacting online but it cannot be the world's currency. That will be kind of complicated you know. We are so far from that to happen. And let's not forget the government who will never let this happen for sure. And not to mention the banks!
133  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Are Now Used in Crimes on: November 08, 2017, 12:32:20 PM
Anything that has value can and will be used in any crime. And btc has been used in multiple crimes such as money laundering, drug trafficking, hiring professional killers and more other crimes. We can't do anything about it and we cannot stop it. Just like we can't stop them using cash in their crimes. We have to accept this fact. What's more important is we are responsible on how we use our coins.
134  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can money lose with Bitcoin?? on: November 08, 2017, 11:54:10 AM
Money is Rothschild and Bitcoin is Satoshi Nakamoto...Bitcoin will be a future money and how about cash???will people use cash at future time???

Bitcoin is so popular for now because of its price value which is based on the real money or the so called fiat. If you say that real money will be replaced by bitcoin, then bitcoin will have its fixed value on your hand. If you have 10 BTC in your hand, then it will be always be 10 BTC but its value is deppreciating just like what the real money has now, which is the value is based by the foreign exchange. It will be only converted to other cryptocurecies to be used. Just like dollar into euros and vise versa. What is the point on that? Why change the current cash into cryptocurrency?
135  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading Tips for Beginners on: November 08, 2017, 08:35:17 AM
Hello Friends...

I am a Newbiew In Bitcointalk forum. There are so many people lost their money due to lack of trading Knowledge. So with this Thread my question is! How to trading with local markets or with international markets.

Please provide Do's and Don'ts during the trading.

Trading also needs talent. You need to be smart enough to make important decisions. The best to do is always calm down even the situations are worst. Do not panic. But sometimes experience is the best teacher, that is why some good in trading now is once a loser in that strategy. So I would recommend, you have to think a lot to make your every move and always do your research.
136  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why people are holding Bitcoin? on: November 07, 2017, 07:34:17 PM
What makes people compel to hold the bitcoin in this critical situation? What are they waiting for? Any good reason?

People who believe in bitcoin hopes that its price value will be uprising as time goes by. So they are just holding bitcoin because when the value is high that is the time for it to convert to fiat for their use. But, some will not convert it because they  consider bitcoin as their wealth just like the reason why people are holding their golds, jewelries, luxury cars,etc..
137  Economy / Speculation / Re: If you had 10k Would you buy Bitcoin before the fork or after? on: November 07, 2017, 07:04:26 PM
Noob here asking , If you had 10k Would you buy Bitcoin before the fork or after?  and Why? Would it make a difference if you had 100k?

I might buy before the fork if I have 10k. One good reason is that I will be receiving another cokn which is the B2X after the fork so that would be great. And then of course the main reason here is I believe that every second counts and I don't want to lose any opportunity to invest. Even if we're at 7k right now it's still a good price to buy even though it is too high since I am planning to invest on a lobf term and I'd love to see btc at 10k which is very possible to happen.
138  Other / Off-topic / Re: What are some disadvantages of BTC? on: November 07, 2017, 06:43:43 PM
We all know the advantages of BTC, but what are some of the disadvantages??

Bitcoin is digital so I think one of the disadvantages of it is its nature. We all know that there many online fraud, hackers everywhere around the world. There are also spammers which is not choosing their victims, so it can be anyone out there. Bitcoin also depend on your on line connection, means you should always be connected to internet for you to be able to transact using it. So as the device you are using needs power source.
139  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is it risky to turn all my money to bitcoins? on: November 07, 2017, 06:06:36 PM
is it risky to turn all my money to bitcoins? anyhow this money sits in the bank and do nothing for!

It's up to you. If you have enough money for everyday living and will not even notice that money in the bank missing then fine, you can do so. You cannot earn in the banks what you can earn with your money turned into btc sitting in your btc wallet. You might even double or triple your money by investing for a long term. Plus an additional tokens from the forks can also add to your savings. But you have to bear in mind that it really is risky. You should do your part to ensure the safety of your coins.
140  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How much risk in bitcoin investement ? on: November 07, 2017, 05:46:23 PM
I just wanted to know that, what amount of risk is there in investing in bitcoins.
Right now i am planning to buy btc approx 3-4 btc and just hold them as i guess the price of bitcoin will increase in future and i will get some good profit. But i want to know what is the risk involved. Can bitcoin price decrease and is this right time to buy the bitcoin.

Every investment has a risk. So same goes while investing in bitcoin. Specially when you are investing in other sites which has a not very well known reputation. The question is how much is your patience in investing and how deep your gonna dive in that investment. I think in investing, one should do his research on that site and also some testimonials of friends will help to have more knowledge. This is the best thing to do before investing your bitcoins.
