121  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is Bitcoin for us? on: March 12, 2018, 01:19:24 AM
Yes it can absolutely change the world, but that is only going to happen if everybody gets on board and adopts it. No matter how great the invention, adoption is critical to that inventions success. If people didn't adopt motor engine vehicles we would still be rolling around in horse carriage today!
122  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin Hush (BTCH) or Bitcoin Private (BTCP) on: March 12, 2018, 01:15:44 AM
Haven't even heard of Bitcoin Hush until, must have been super hush hush huh? Cheesy. Even Bitcoin Private has opened up on coinmarket and it isn't doing well, I thought it would reach 3 figures for at least a couple of days...
123  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Will crypto exchanges be banned/taxed ? on: March 12, 2018, 12:52:27 AM
The point is that governments always want to avoid things that will have negative economic impacts on their countries and so off late that's why there is alot of regulatory sanctions being rolled out by different governments.Sometimes the exchanges can comply with such regulations easily without compromising user details but other times it is too strict the exchange may have to close down and that is what is actually happening now and in the near future.
But then why did they wait so terribly long to do anything with regulation regarding Bitcoin? It is not like Bitcoin was released yesterday or 5 years ago, it has been out for above 9 years now which is ample time to come up with some regulation. Governments are lazy, lets not sugar coat the reality now.
124  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What encourages you to invest in any altcoin? on: March 12, 2018, 12:48:57 AM
I am interested in the technology and principles of its implementation in various fields: medicine, finance, logistics and so on.
Technology is pretty important but I tend to focus on the project itself and what they are trying to undertake. Call me a tree hugger but I like helping out this world and will tag along with any project that is trying to do that. Makes it harder to make decisions sometimes, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: easy money on: March 12, 2018, 12:45:20 AM
I just watched a video on CNBC and it was describing how ICOs are different from hardforks. They aren't that bad with their news reporting anymore which leads me to believe people won't be as naive in taking the other end of a fork.
126  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Registration of altcoins on: March 12, 2018, 12:41:41 AM
There isn't one, that is the nature of open source creating. If there was a database we would be centralizing things again, nothing stops you from using the symbols either. As you can see there are tons of Bitcoin and Ethereum clones, all using similar logos.
127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 4th Generation Blockchain? How this works? on: March 12, 2018, 12:39:55 AM
It isn't anything more than a buzzword to get you hooked I believe. If there is any merit to it I certainly haven't heard of this before and I have been here for quite a bit of time now. I don't claim to know everything though but the generation thing feels like how blockchain has the past couple of hears. All hype, no meaning behind it.
128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: [BOUNTY][BAL] Browsers Lab Bounty Post - Revolutionizing Software Automation on: March 12, 2018, 12:29:43 AM
Signed up for sig campaign, but the couldn't get the avatar too work. It said it was too wide and big, could you please fix it up so I can add it up? ty Wink
129  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is useless on: March 07, 2018, 06:00:45 PM
UPDATE 23/01/2018:
useless, guys the fact that some of you become reach and wealthy does not make Bitcoin useful. You wealth does not come from values that are used in propaganda.
1. Why I am still here? I believe there are technologies that are better maintained and lead than BTC, I prefer put money in something that bring value, has use-case and been used.
2. LN is panacea! Well not, so far its more dream than reality, no doubt it will be delivered in one or other way, but it will not solve all problems and so far it has more questions than answers.
All that, just so you could get cheaper Bitcoin? Well done to you OP, I hope you scooped up some 6k Bitcoin in early February you deserve it for your consistent work on this thread. Way to drive fear home into the minds of those who can't critically think. Don't need a white knight to save us though, just sell all your Bitcoins and somebody will gladly take them. I would bet a lot of money though, that you FUDDED hard publicly then privately scooped the dip. I say well played and incredibly smart of you, oh and on the off chance you believe all this. Way to eat the spoon the media has been feeding the mainstream!
130  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Airdrops and SEC on: March 07, 2018, 05:53:40 PM
Wouldn't airdrop just be classified as a gift you received from somebody? Disregarding the structure of the token or the coin I believe that is how we should view it. If the token or coin however, is paying dividends then most certainly it would be classified as a security.
131  Economy / Economics / Re: Btc and government, what does the future holds? on: March 07, 2018, 05:49:04 PM
Outright ban would be completely stupid because they not only don't get to tax whatever Bitcoins would get reported but you also push the economy underground and stop no trading. Everything would become p2p and would just avoid exchanges completely. The only way to stop Bitcoin is to stop the internet, and yeah good luck with that!
132  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what kind of aspect does bitcoin helps you? on: March 07, 2018, 05:44:49 PM
Currently Bitcoin hasn't helped me a whole lot, although I have been able to pay minor things here and there. The real help will come when either I can spend my Bitcoin at almost any merchant shop or when I can take some funds out, both are still on the horizon still but I anxiously await those days.
133  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think we don't get quality Bitcoin users anymore? on: March 07, 2018, 05:41:33 PM
A lot of people jump to Bitcoin because they saw a huge profit that they can earned through investing, they just follow friend's advice and just put the money, many of friends also do the same, they don't know that Bitcoin is a currency, and they don't care what is the potential of Bitcoin ,they just know they want to earn profit
I can confidently say that most of those who decided to invest into bitcoins for just the huge profits have all stopped due to the value dropping in recent months, Its only those who believe in the value and ideas of Bitcoins that are still in the game of investing.
Which is unfortunate because if those panic investors had remained they probably would stand to gain a lot. But then again we need them so that the smarter investors can make the lions share of profit. I go back and forth on whether I want quality users in Bitcoin right now, all I know is that I want quality in the end.
134  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $1 Trillion Dollar Market Cap on: March 07, 2018, 05:38:08 PM
speculation is very interesting, but I think too fast if it says February is the time for a good price.

and the reality, bitcoin today is still trying to rise past the $ 12000 price. and I see it very difficult.

but I also predict that the year-end bitcoin value will reach $ 50000 more.
We would be so lucky to reach above 50k this year end, I would more or less not have to work for a while. But in any case I don't care much I am here for the long haul 5 years+ and in that time we will achieve multiple trillions of market cap in the overall market I believe, of which Bitcoin itself will have above 1 trillion market cap.
135  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin behavior during a recession on: March 07, 2018, 05:27:15 PM
Thanks for opening up this question. I would like to see what others' opinions are too. It is quite tough to  predict the future in case of cryptocurrencies and economical crisis is something which can effect the crypto market in any of the way (positive or negative).  There has been no recession since the creation of Bitcoin which is why we can say how will it effect it. In my opinion the economical crisis would strike Bitcoin in a negative way since it is not yet been accepted throughout the world. It would certainly create a panic/FUD in the crypto market and hence there are pretty good chances that BTC will decline.

We definitely can not predict anything when that happen but as a recession may go it can decline the price or value of bitcoin, But in my opinion I don't see that bitcoin's going to be affected by it because we can see that bitcoin is really having a hard time with the resistance right now if a decentralized like bitcoin would be affected then it's price can sure decline but just like the recent drop.

There is another insight which my friend made me realise just now when I was discussing this question with him. The chances for Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies to increase in price are quite high during a recession because in a recession/world crisis the price of fiat currencies go down. The crypto market wont be affected because of it and will remain stable in it's price. Now since the price of fiat currencies like $ will go down , will mean that BTC will increase in price.

So the conclusion is that the possibilities for BTC to increase/decrease in price are equal.
I just gonna say if the recession is caused by the banks, or mismanaging of fiat currencies then our industry stands to gain a lot. Think about it if your government is corrupt (maybe not 1st world) and they begin printing tons of money to bail out banks and themselves, the first thing you are going to think is how can I protect my assets? I say because this is how most recessions happen and I don't foresee war on the horizon. For that reason I believe it is more likely BTC will gain during a recession than lose during a recession. Obviously one big factor on this is how educated people are about governments, money, and the crypto space. If they have limited knowledge, they may not even know pulling out is best. That is why I say it is more likely, but I certainly don't rule out the sheep not making the correct play in this spot and getting fleeced yet again.
136  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Development in Crypto regulations Globally. on: March 05, 2018, 08:56:59 PM
Just be excited that the European Union is ready to regulate crypto, if that isn't bullish news I don't know what is. Because at that point in time I believe USA will look to their European counterparts and think something along the lines of we can't be last in this space. I expect most of the nastiest stances against Bitcoin to come out this year, ergo moving ahead I am mega bullish.
137  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Bitcoin Volatility Be Controlled? on: March 05, 2018, 08:52:14 PM
Volatility comes about from hype and the size of the userbase shifting. Once the userbase stabilises and Bitcoin becomes normalised in society, the volatility of the currency will decrease at the same time as a natural consequence. Unfortunately that isn't happening any time soon, and volatility prevents the userbase from stabilising, so it creates a negative feedback loop of sorts.
I thought the volatility was mainly concerned with the amount of total market cap for Bitcoin. I realize new players entering and exiting can have an effect as well but if we can reach a 6 figure or even better a 7 figure price tag, won't that in itself curb most of the volatility? Perhaps I got that twisted, but please enlighten me if so!
138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: how many coins do you think will last on: March 01, 2018, 05:26:32 PM
My question is this, once these coins have to start going through a more stringent vetting process to be accepted to market's how many coins do you think will last, and do you think this is something that will gain adoption in the near future?
The more stringent vetting process will make it such that only legitimate ICOs get funding and are viewed as real projects which will happen, but at the same time you will have numerous amounts of joke projects or launching coins just for the sake of it. Those coins and projects will be known as the "joke" ones and they won't get any funding or be taken seriously. I am okay with both things happening in the market, as long as there is a distinction between the two. The main thing we need from all this is protecting investors, and ridding the industry of scams it is that simple.

I don't think more than 10% of coins will survive past few years. If you look at ICOs from last year than 47% of them failed, which is a high percentage. With that rate only the coins that are continuously innovating are going to survive.
10% is still too high of a number for me, I was thinking in between 2-5% of the projects currently. That means my range of projects I think that should exist beyond this year is 30-75, however there will be tons of smaller market coins which means the # of coins will be infinite. The number of projects that are worthwhile will be under 100, but the # of actual coins out there in existence? I believe that number will be ever growing and one day will surpass hundreds of thousands if not a million coins. They won't be for the global economy, but rather there will be coins based off local book groups, and board game clubs, and whatever else. The limits are endless, but the progression will be an interesting one for sure.

139  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Watch out! Hacker on: March 01, 2018, 05:16:14 PM
There are always new types of hack, phishing, virus and malware coming up. People really have to be careful and stay alert.
Use a hardware wallet, know who you are paying and why, use escrow online and if it's too good to be true then it most likely is.
This, I wouldn't trust an online wallet, or an exchange wallet for a moment. Never put your security in anybody else's hands, always protect yourself and your hard earned money. All I can say is I wish these leeches would wake up one day and see the damage they do, and then learn to become normal people.
140  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is Coinigy worth it? Are there other multi-exchange platforms out there? on: March 01, 2018, 05:12:40 PM
Coinigy and tradingview are the only two sites that I know that are like this. I never used that aspect of the Coinigy account though, I just used the account for TA and that was that. I will say this though, having that much access to that many graphs as well as indicators hard to go wrong for that price. All you have to do is execute one trade well and it pays for itself, not terribly tough to do if you ask me!
