121  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can we make sure that our money we invest in Bitcoin is safe? on: June 06, 2018, 10:07:55 AM
I just want to know how those people behind bitcoin secure the money they will invest because as far as I know there are lots of hackers all over the world.

you definitely need to buy a hardware wallet that you store in a safe place, where no one can just easily find it. Once you are using trezor wallet, then you will be more than safe
122  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin Rewards From Mining - Still Economically Viable? on: June 06, 2018, 10:02:48 AM
So the question is with so many people all over the world mining Bitcoin especially those with Bitmain type miners and farms, apart from the pool operators who continue to benefit, is the share received viable for others to mine Bitcoin when keeping electricity, time and effort in mind?

I'm not sure whether mining bitcoin is still effective, I guess it largely depends on the current price. Usually there are huge mining farms that are able to benefit of bitcoin mining.
123  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Panic sellers, please head for the exit (and don't come back) on: June 06, 2018, 10:01:55 AM
Dear Panic Sellers,

If the news about Google Ads and Facebook, as well as bubble-bursting warnings from "respectable" institutions such as universities, economists, banks, opinion makers, investors and governments have convinced you to sell your coins,

If you let yourself be influenced by the messages and actions from these corporations and governments,

You have not understood a single thing about Satoshi's libertarian dream of decentralization and liberty and cannot cope with the responsibility that comes with these liberties. You were only hoping for some quick profit to sell for fiat... Now that you're losing dollars, you are crying all the way... well... to the bank.

I hope you got out completely and never will return, because I am convinced you are as big a threat to Satoshi's dream as the corporations and law-makers that convinced you to panic sell.

PS: To my fellow believers: HODL.  Smiley

I would love these people to be out of community asap too! It's just so annoying to be listening to their worthless opinions where it's just too obvious they know nothing about the tech behind crypto..
124  Economy / Speculation / Re: Market is slowly degrading on: June 06, 2018, 10:00:53 AM
Dont panic at first. stay still .. wait for the right moment. try other stuff , then be back on the increasing market value of the your assets.. Market place is not so stable on some point, just have enough knowledge in your game. find a fast moving game plan so your coins, will not be stagnated.

it's not. Market has started from zero, now it's in tens of billions. Maybe it's degrading since you invested, but that needs to be clarified before you make statement. Just be patient
125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New here! What is a signature and how do we use it? on: June 04, 2018, 02:08:25 PM
Hello!

I'm new here, I wanted to ask how do we use signatures?

I saw a bounty program, and at the end they had signatures, how do they work?

Thanks!

for now you can't really join bounty campaigns because your rank won't allow you to do that. Then you can simply just copy the text into your profile and you will have the signature...
126  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Why you should take bounty campaign seriously on: June 04, 2018, 02:05:43 PM
This discussion is not to generalize the idea of taking bounty serious by everyone but for those that need to.

I see lots of people who say I can't do only bounty campaign as a full term work, of course no one should do that if you have lots of other alternatives, but if you don't, it will do well to utilize the available time and make as much profit as you can make from bounty campaign doing it as it is your only employed job until you can even raise cash to start your own business, because some of the organizations we even aim to work don't even pay you like bounty campaign and other times we get employed to do similar works just like what you do while running bounty campaign.

Feel free to share your opinion too

bounty is a perfect side job that can help those who feel like investing in ICOs but don't want to or can't spend money in it. At least that's how it should be, however not everyone understands that
127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Your Money Safer In Crypto than at the Bank? on: June 03, 2018, 04:25:03 PM
Tim Draper: More Secure in Bitcoin Than the Money Sitting in Wells Fargo

Venture capitalist Tim Draper is bullish on Bitcoin and believes it will reach $250,000 in the next four years.

During a debate hosted by Intelligence Squared and the Adam Smith Society, Tim Draper was asked how Bitcoin compared with his previous tech investments in Hotmail, Skype, and Tesla. He replied bullishly, saying, “Bitcoin will be bigger than all three combined.” However, Draper didn’t leave it at that — he thinks it will be bigger than the iron age, the Renaissance, and the internet and says that the nascent technology will affect the entire world in a faster and more prevalent way than ever imagined.

The Debate: “Bitcoin is more than a bubble and here to stay.”
Backed up by Patrick Byrne (CEO of overstock), Draper took on Financial Times journalist, Gillian Tett, and Professor of Law, Eric Posner, both of whom argued that Bitcoin is indeed a bubble and strongly contested Draper’s claims. Posner and Tett called into question the “strengths” of Bitcoin, arguing that they could be regarded as weaknesses. Posner suggested that the pseudonymization of identity enabled by the technology makes Bitcoin transactions the perfect vehicle for sophisticated criminal transactions. Tett focused on the risk involved with trusting computers with finance as they can be hacked, are prone to faults, and that Bitcoin is a “terrible store of value.”

These arguments won’t be anything new to anyone who has studied the space, and the rebuttals of Draper and Byrne won’t come as a surprise either. The pair acknowledged that Bitcoin was imperfect and drew attention to the fact the technology was designed to be open source so that unforeseen problems can be managed by the community. Byrne also pointed out that although Bitcoin has been “hacked at” more than anything in history, but unlike banks, it has yet to be defeated.

Draper was more brazen in his responses and implored the crowd to use fiat if they were looking to facilitate their own criminal activity as many Bitcoin criminals get caught. The venture capitalist responded to Tett’s admission that she invests in several different fiat currencies by saying, “I’m so much more secure in my Bitcoin than I am in the money that’s sitting there in Wells Fargo.”

Who is right?
The short answer is it’s far too early to tell, but it is good to see the subject being discussed in this manner. Before the debate, Gillian Tett remarked that if both sides of an argument aren’t heard in the same room, on the same day, then the conversations can “go past one another.” It’s probably safe to say she’s right here because, although there is no shortage of media on either side of the argument, real debate on the subject can be difficult to find.

If crypto is going to head down the road Draper expects, its advocates need to be able to argue their case outside of the crypto community, and debate should be welcome as it not only gives both sides the ability to speak but also the ability to listen.

Draper’s comments are to be expected
As crypto enthusiasts, it’s easy to agree when figures like Draper sing the praises of Bitcoin, but we shouldn’t let confirmation bias get in the way of the issues. Draper is a successful investor, and he hasn’t arrived there without making mistakes. He could be wholly right, wrong, or somewhere in between — the latter is most likely. Draper allegedly owns 30,000 BTC, so he has a vested interest in Bitcoin’s success. That does not mean he is wrong, but it does mean his comments should be taken with a pinch of salt. Well-reasoned arguments are far more convincing than hype and chest beating because they allow people to make up their own minds.

The emergence of DLT might eclipse the impact of other innovations, but for now, the emphasis is not on critics to prove the crypto community wrong. It’s up to those who champion DLT to convince the world they’re right.

128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When do you think we'll reach January 2018 market cap again? on: June 03, 2018, 04:23:48 PM
On January 2018 the market cap crossed the $800 bln, when will it happen again?

no one will give you a good answer, because no one can know that. Do your own studies and don't expect other people to give you answers to impossible questions...
129  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Australian airport now accepting cryptocurrency. on: June 03, 2018, 04:23:06 PM
So an Australian airport now accepting cryptocurrency, we see more and more places doing this... what are some places that need more Crypto atms? Is using these ATMs easy and quick?

that is another great news! more places accepting crypto means more possibilities to spend your coins and more promo of cryptocurrencies. Now to only persuade people to actually spend it instead of speculating Smiley
130  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about Private Sale? on: June 03, 2018, 04:21:57 PM
What do you think about Private Sale?
Now the new ICOs attach importance to private sale. They sell to big investors secretly. A small amount is left for Ico. The remaining amount is selling out. As such, there is an extreme hype in people like us. Quarkchain, for example.
I think they make hype like this. After selling a small amount at Ico, it is going to the market x3 x4. And those who buy in private sale sell at these prices.
I do not like projects that do this. I totally think they are doing it to attract big investors. Because big investors are investing between 1000-5000 eth in one go.

I think private sale is a very good step for ICO. If they're able to persuade funds to invest in their project, it gives them certain amount the credit and confidence for individual investors.
131  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Pre sale or ICO? on: June 03, 2018, 04:21:04 PM
When is better to buy crypto, on pre sale or on ICO? When you buy on presale, you can get good bonuses, however when you buy on ICO you have a better gurantee not to be scammed.

You're wrong. Pre-sale is the first stage of ICO, I don't see any better chance not to get scammed during the main ICO sale. If you do the research before you invest, results should be the same.
132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How we can stop scam ICOs lanching? on: June 03, 2018, 04:20:03 PM
I think we should protect to issue scam ICOs in the crypto market. It creates misconception between new user and about market. What you think?

if people wouldn't be investing in scam ICOs, they wouldn't have an economic incentive to pop up. That is rather utopistic scenario though, yet until then there will always be scammers.
133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sending in fake ID for KYC on: June 01, 2018, 05:37:10 PM
I just was brought up to speed on groups of people sending in fake/Photoshopped ID's by scanning public records to defeat the KYC process and it seemingly is very easy to do.  It appears that many people sent in fake documentation to the Bob's and Polymath KYC and had no hassles.  How do these companies verify people if all they have to go on is public information?  Did they even really check the ID's or were they simply collected the data?  How rampant do you think this is?  How many of us are complete fools for turning in our documents when others simply faked it.  Now they have our data and the people who faked it are still secure.

NOT FAIR.

my experience is that for KYC you also need to take your picture with ID or passport, so unless you're a maestro with photoshop, I'm not sure how it would be possible to bypass that one
134  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Do you believe in ICO Ratings? on: June 01, 2018, 05:35:42 PM
I see many Websites that provide ratings for ongoing ICOs or for the future. Examples such as the ICObench.com Website, ICOrating.com and others.

Which is my question whether you believe in the rating provided by the website. Seeing many ICO's do not match what they value. Many ICOs are arguably good ratings but when the token sales of the project only reach softcap. And there are projects that I see have a fairly mediocre rating but their token sales reach hardcap. I took the example of Lalaworld on ICObench.com they get Rating 3.7 but their token is sold out.

So let's discuss ICO Rating!

this is a good topic. I'm pretty sure certain projects are overvalued and some of them undervalued. Some of them even pay to get higher ratings. I wouldn't still say that if the rating was 3.7 and project reached hardcap, ICO rating was wrong. I would measure the accuracy of ratings based on the long term performance instead of amount raised.
135  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How long do you plan to hold on to your top Cryptos? on: June 01, 2018, 05:32:17 PM
I was just wondering how long you guys plan to hold on to your top cryptos. Right now my plan is to hold on for at least 3-5 years. But that could all change depending on where the market goes. If there is serious mass adoption, I wouldn't mind holding for longer. I will probably hold on to LTC for the longest.

With mass adoption, I would probably also sell part of my stash. But there are utility tokens I intend to hold forever as that way I can make more money if the platforms work as supposed
136  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Evolution of currencies on: May 27, 2018, 12:12:12 PM
it just makes sense that we're not utilizing the used energy anymore as money, why was it good? We can easily have systems representing the value of goods separately from energy storage...
137  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: What are the best bitcoin wallets? on: May 27, 2018, 12:10:52 PM
Depending on how much are you going to invest, I would recommend you either software or hardware wallet. Never use web wallets and exchanges for long term storing. Both software and hardware wallet allow you to control your own private key which is required to spend your money. Electrum is great choice if you don't have much in BTC. It started supporting SegWit which means that your transactions will be cheaper! Ledger and Trezor are great hardware wallets, there are a lot of reviews on the Internet.

For me I used paper wallet because it is very safe not connected to the internet and it is far from scammers. I keep it in my bag so that it will far from water.

it's a good solution, but make sure to make a back up, you can easily lose it somewhere when you're carrying it with you, or possibly you can get it stolen with your wallet.
138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you feel positive about alt-coins on: May 27, 2018, 12:06:01 PM
With so many new alternative coins popping up daily, do you feel positive about them and their ICOs?

I see there is a lack of just very basic understading of the market. How could we say and judge in general? i feel positive about certain specific ICOs indeed. I feel worse about others
139  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Price < $3000 soon on: May 27, 2018, 12:05:04 PM
Bitcoin will drop to $3000 soon, trust me

so now 2 months later, what is it about your trust? Where is $3000 promised? Is there anything you would like to say except for trying to sell people your useless fud?
140  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you know Helbiz??? on: May 27, 2018, 12:02:00 PM
I have seen the name in the market index of today. Its price has been increased by 43% right now. And increasing at every hour. Do you know anything about this or the reason of rising??

I think the price is still lower than it was during the ICO, so it's no surprise and no wonders. They seem to be a solid project, but will hard to gain on ICO as they reached their hardcap
