Can someone explain how the perks donation works? How is 1% donated? I enabled it and want to help with development Smiley Just not sure HOW I am sending you anything.
and it doesn't submit any donation shares for network miners.

That is where I was confused as my antminers all all networked. I guess a manual donation then?

Pretty much.  That, or if you use ghash.io for your pool, you can set the payout to give a certain percent to another address.

Just for fun.

I'm will buy a new PSU and try it again. I really hope it is not a broken blade.

And i know what you mean. I don't know how it looks inside the PSU. Just because the cables are separated doesn't mean they are not splitted.

thats your problem there. That looks like it came from the 'used' bin at a salvation army. Its pretty important that you use a quality power supply (single rail, brandname, modular if possible, minimum 600W) in order to get good results.

I expect you are either tapping multiple wires off a single rail or the rails are generally poor build quality. Its not at all uncommon in PSUs not rated 80+ bronze or better.

You can try the 2x2 pin ATX MOBO cable.  these usually have thier own rail in a multi-rail supply since the mobo is expected to draw lots of power

Yup, not all 500w PSUs are created equal.  I had a 500w PSU that was barely sufficient to power one of the two blades.  It was never intended to be long-term.  I just had it lying around.  Get a better PSU (80 plus certified), and you should be doing ok.

What are the acceptable, or rather, max temps for the S1? Mine are 48-49c, which seems to have caused over 6% HW errors, or about 6-7gh/s off of my speed.

Anything under 60c should be 'acceptable'.  Generally somewhere between 40-50c is where you should be seeing your temps, assuming 70-80f ambient.  You probably won't see issues until closer to 70c.  If you're getting that high an error rate, you might need to clock it down a little (if overclocked).  If stock, there might be a problem with your miner and you might consider replacing it from BITMAIN.  Not all units will clock up to 400Mhz with low error rates.

Every 100th share is sent to Nwools pool instead of yours.  You can see the pool change to 'donation' when it's sending.

Bugs:
I don't think Nwools has a pool configured for all coins, and it doesn't submit any donation shares for network miners.

I see that you made a new license for more entry-level trials.  It seems unattractive though.  If someone were to want to just try it out, it seems to me that it would be much better if it were 1/10th the cost for only 2 months.  That way someone could play around with it for a minimal investment and see if they like it before paying for a full license.  After all, isn't that the general idea with this low-cost license?

I didn't see a list of supported exchanges on your site, nor a comparison of versions.  Could this be added to help us make a more informed purchase decision?
126  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Setup & Troubleshoot] Bitmain AntMiner S1 180GH/S miner on: April 01, 2014, 03:54:00 AM
My antminer has recently started showing my LSTime as some number around 1396293585 for any pool that it's mined to.  It seems to be mining fine, but should I be worried about this?
That means you are running one of my binaries 4.2.0 or 4.2.2a

I'm running your 4.2.0.  I thought it might be related, but I'm used to seeing the actual numbers, so I was wondering what was up with it.

Found a small bug on one particular pool when I was doing some mining for a friend.  When mining to Coin-Pool (stratum+tcp://dem.coin-pool.org), the reported profitability was way out of whack.  Happened when using both coinbase and coinwarz, but as soon as I switched pools (ghash and Eligius are my mains), the numbers went back to about where I expected them to be.

129  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Setup & Troubleshoot] Bitmain AntMiner S1 180GH/S miner on: March 31, 2014, 11:20:05 PM

I don't understand the question.  When I typed cgminer -V like you asked, it returns cgminer version 3.12.0

Type in "which cgminer" without the quotes it should return  /usr/bin/cgminer

It does.

No idea, I'd repeat the process.

I already tried it about four times.  I even restored the firmware a couple times, just to be sure.
Edit: I was able to get it updated to 4.2.0 by using the other version instead.

You said you restarted the miner which I assumed it would be restarting cgminer.

what does
which cgminer
show?

Should obv be the one in /usr/bin

Would be weird to have multiples.

132  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Setup & Troubleshoot] Bitmain AntMiner S1 180GH/S miner on: March 31, 2014, 10:10:34 PM
No errors (except for the rm command, which isn't needed for first-time-use).
rm not needed for anytime use since you are doing a move command and not copy.
I'm aware of that.  It's just a catch-all script.

Have you rebooted?
Yes, I mentioned this in my OP.

What does cgminer -V show?
3.12.0

I'm having issues updating cgminer with Kano's firmware at https://github.com/kanoi/cgminer-binaries/tree/master/AntS1
I run the following command in putty:
Code:
cd /usr/bin/
wget http://kano-kun.net/AntS1/cgminer-ants1-4.2.2a-7b8fb34
chmod +x cgminer-ants1-4.2.2a-7b8fb34
mv cgminer cgminer.original
rm cgminer
ln -s cgminer-ants1-4.2.2a-7b8fb34 cgminer

I've saved and applied and even restarted the miner.  It uses disk space, but doesn't update the cgminer version past 3.12.0-1 (should be updating to 4.2.2a).

Are you seeing any error messages after executing each of those commands when you're logged into your S1's terminal?
What exactly are you seeing?

Code:
alias: -l not found
root@antMiner:~# cd /usr/bin/
root@antMiner:/usr/bin# wget http://kano-kun.net/AntS1/cgminer-ants1-4.2.2a-7b8fb34

root@antMiner:/usr/bin# rm cgminer

Can I use this with my Cointerra Terraminer IV?

If yes, how?

MultiMiner will work with any of the miners listed in the BFGMiner thread.  For assistance setting up anything not listed there, the BFGMiner thread is the place to go.

It looks like it is not currently supported, but is in the works.

Good to know.  This mod makes the S1s theoretically cheaper per Ghash than the S2 without sacrificing much power consumption.

I gotta find what the decibels on this one .It has 151 cfm though like you said about the other it's probably a vacume but it's 4 pin so I'd hope I wouldn't hit that high [though some how I have with the default fan with one active blade].

58DB.  Might as well go for the full 240CFM one for that (65DB)

I'm for the moment looking at installing one of these on the exhaust side when I get my proper power supply.

That fan is only 66cfm, I believe the S1 fans are 130CFM.  I tried putting in some 120mm 95CFM fans on the output and they seemed to be blocking the airflow more than assisting as the miners ran a few degrees hotter.

I have ordered a fan that is purported to be similar to the stock S1 fans and will report back once I get it

I wonder where you go for something that high without the loud hum of decibels at that level.

I had found something with 130 but it didn't specify pins and had no reviews.

What are these fans considered ? Are they server fans as is why I can't find something on newegg close to that level.

Case fans are like snowflakes - there are no two alike.  These particular fans aren't like to anything I've seen recently.  Your best bet is to get a 100+CFM fan with under 35DB and run it alongside the stock fan at full RPMs in a push-pull config.

If you don't care about noise, just go with these vacuum cleaners: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835213001
Be prepared to wear earplugs whenever you walk into the same building as them though.

I wouldn't bother to get anything that's around 110 CFM that's over 40DB.  The ones I use will probably be your best bang-for-the-buck: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835132022

Nwools, I just noticed today that the HTML5 version of MobileMiner doesn't display the pool it is mining to on the front page.  Would it be possible to add another column to display the pool info without having to click on the miner for more info?

Great call - will do!

So I've implemented this as a tooltip instead of displaying it within the table. It just seemed a bit busy to me with that information included. Hover over the coins to see the last pool that submitted work. Let me know what you think.

Note that you could theoretically be mining 100 different pools per machine, so for simplicity and server resources I just show the one without clicking through to the details.

That was kind of the reason for wanting to show the pools.  Say I had a couple hundred network miners.  It would be nice to be able to see at-a-glance which ones are mining to which pool.  Personally speaking, I think that the pool info is more valuable than seeing which mining software is doing the mining, and were it up to me, and I wanted to keep the more condensed format, I might change it so that a popup shows the mining software, and the column shows the pool.
