121  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [LTBc] The most profitable alt coin to mine is... on: July 28, 2014, 09:57:37 PM
May you clear this for me please

1. 1 Post, equal how many LTBcoins ?

2. May you list please ALL things I can do that get me coins, and how much coin per activity, like x coins for commenting and so.

3. What is the "content" people talking about ? The blog posts or the content at content garden ?

4. How shall I calculate how much I will be having on the next Sunday ?

5. Is there any rules so the one don't bypass it ?

Sorry for being vague, but it is impossible to calculate the amount of LTBcoin you will receive. Every time a new person registers and is active, the pool gets diluted, and everyone earns a bit less. LTBcoins supply also gets slightly lower each week. A lot of your questions are answered here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=712944.0

1, read more about PoP, unfortunately I can not give you any exact amounts.
2. I have a list here: It is under "How to mine" section https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=712944.0
3. Content includes articles, podcasts, and the forum posts. Anything you can comment on basically.
4. Here are all the stats for the weeks, scroll to the bottom for "Earning Metrics", it tells you how much each action is worth http://letstalkbitcoin.com/ltbcoin-stats
5. The rules are don't spam. I am not sure how spammers will be dealt with, I need to talk to adam about that.
122  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Moderated Thread - Logo Voting Has Begun[Updates & Discussion] on: July 28, 2014, 06:48:15 PM
TOKEN REQUESTS CAN NOW BE MADE - READ PROCEDURE BELOW

1) Send 1 NXT from the account you want the asset to be transfered to to NXT-97MX-EWKV-CGKX-DA5WH
This will pay for the tx fee and act as bookkeeping.

2) Send pm to xtester with patmast3r in cc.
The pm needs to include the tx id for the 1 NXT payment. Don't pm us saying "I payed 1 NXT. Send my token". INCLUDE THE TX ID!
This is what a TX ID looks like: 7136633102723179216. Plz don't send us something else.

We'll issue tokens once a week. Current plan is to issue tokens every monday. Plz send your request at least 24h in advance otherwise you'll have to wait for the next monday to come along.

xtester will check first, put you on the list, then I will recheck and issue the token.

Everyone that already pmed me before will need to pm again. I can't search all those pms in my inbox for every single request I hope you can understand that.

im a newbie abt NXT.. my question is following, pls be patient and help me,, thanks.

1. i go to NXTblocks.info and open a wallet,,,i set password and i got a wallet identifier: X6L5-F4T7------,
(what is it for ? is it like my account on NXT-AE ? )

2. then, go to the account book, i add an account, ID : NXT-KKFH-M4RE-HREC-CK8Z8
( is it the NXT address under my NXT-AE account: X6L5-----? )

3. i go to AE,, and find the NEMstake market,, but i cant find the buttons to BUY or SELL...
only see the buying and selling orders..

4. so, i need to send 1nxt from my account ID: NXT-KKFH-M4RE-HREC-CK8Z8
and then, i will have the stake token in this account ID,, right ?

5. after i receive my token, how to sell ? because i cant find any BUY or SELL button in the NEMstake market...

thank you for your help.

You should use sceureAE, it's a completely online wallet that you can also use to trade assets. If you are using Nxt instead of BTC, just skip the first couple steps in the guide, and deposit Nxt to your address (It will be labeled as account ID). Send a small amount of Nxt first, to test it out. I don't want you to lose any nxt.

yes! all cube guys get on NEM forum and vote for your favourite logo!!!  Wink

I dig the cube logo as well. Although it's still relatively new, I already look at it as the "cool throwback logo". Even if it doesn't win, let's use it for 1 day every year on NEM's anniversary or something  Grin
124  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: LTBcoin [LTBc] "Let's Talk Bitcoin" crypto-rewards Official Thread on: July 28, 2014, 06:22:13 PM
I have two suggestions:

1. Since this is Official LTBcoin thread, maybe you should move it to Bitcoin Forum > Other > Alternate cryptocurrencies > Announcements (Altcoins) ? This is the place where all the official communication is going.

2. Adam has some issues in his guide that confused new people. I've updated his guide here: http://letstalkbitcoin.com/forum/post/work-in-progress-dont-reply-yet You can update the link on LTBcoin SETUP GUIDE, with lot's of pictures. in OP

I have to disagree with point 1. LTBcoin was launched about a month ago, and it has been in discussion for months before then. If this was a month ago when LTBcoin officially launched, it would be more in place in the Announcement section. As it is know, putting a LTBcoin in ANN section now would be misleading IMO. I decided to follow the likes of NXT and NEM, and place the official LTBcoin post here. Even if I wanted to, I am unable to move or delete this thread, that would have to be done by a mod. If they feel it should be in the ANN section, then I will gladly move the conversation there.

Thank you very much for creating that concise post about setup, I will link to that post for now on.

126  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [LTBc] The most profitable alt coin to mine is... on: July 28, 2014, 05:42:41 PM
The total amount distributed per week is constant.
So if you own multiple accounts you get a bigger cut, or am I seeing it wrong?

Actually I think you are wrong. Proof or Participation pays per activity. It shouldn't matter how many accounts generated the activity, was it one or many.

Lets say the only activity you do is you post on forums. It shouldn't matter if one account generated 100 posts, or you created 100 accounts and you made 1 post from each of them. You still gonna be paid for 100 posts.
I believe you get diminishing returns. So with 100 posts on 1 account I wouldn't recieve as much as on a 100 accounts with 1 post.

Yes there are diminishing returns, but the PoP worth of your comments get reset daily. Also keep in mind the other ways to improve your PoP score. For example, if someone upvotes your article comments, your PoP score increases. No one is going to upvote a spammy comment though.

I'm sure if you tried hard enough, you could find a way to "game" the system, and earn marginal returns. However I think you would find it to be much easier and rewarding to just "play by the rules"
127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: LTBcoin [LTBc] "Let's Talk Bitcoin" crypto-rewards Official Thread on: July 28, 2014, 05:11:47 PM
more users mean less for everyone, not sure if it good to spread in that way

You still have 5 days to earn PoP though (weekly payouts are on saturday). I made 20,000 LTBcoin last week for listening to 6 podcasts, making 10 forum posts, and commenting on a few articles. Even if I give my same effort this week, and my reward is only 10,000LTBcoin, I'll still be plenty happy with that.

Besides we want to employ the "network effect", I'd rather raise the value of LTBcoin, than earn a bunch of LTBcoin that isn't worth much.

This is a cool idea and I think it will do very well....

Joined an looking forward to listening to your podcats and reading all the posts in the forum...

Thanks, make sure to comment on articles and podcasts that you like. You will earn more LTBcoin!

Thanks Guys!

BTW Episode #130 of LTBcoin is out. Adam talks in detail about how the LTBcoin referral system works, and interesting concepts such as compliance-coin.

Technically you are right, but you would probably earn more LTBcoin if you did all these things below, instead of creating 10 accounts and not using them much.

I took that list from here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=712944.0

I'm working on an official announcement thread for LTBcoin. I will have it up in a few hours.

Very cool! We need an official thread on BitcoinTalk. Thanks fordoing it!
Were did you post it? Let me link it in the OP.

Here's the official thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=712944.0

I will be adding a FAQ section as well, to help answer the more basic questions.

About LTBcoin

LTBcoin is a brand new kind of thing. It is a crypto-rewards system where people who help LTB to be useful are rewarded for their efforts. And it’s built on Bitcoin!

LTBcoin is the proprietary token for the Let’s Talk Bitcoin Network. It is the exclusive token accepted for sponsorships. It will provide the user a significant discount in the network wide and ACT-specific e-commerce stores. It can be used in the network for tipping and will generally be useful in every corner of the LTB universe.

LTBcoin is a user-defined asset using the Counterparty protocol. Counterparty is built on Bitcoin and is secured by the Bitcoin network. Because of this, LTBcoin addresses are exactly the same as Bitcoin addresses. LTBcoin can be traded on the Counterparty distributed exchange for Bitcoin, XCP or other user-defined assets. If you haven't got a Counterpart wallet yet, visit Counterwallet.co.

"Mining" LTBcoin
SomeInvisibleTextIsHereCoolHuhIThinkSoYaKnowWhatIMean
Some Ways to "Mine" LTBcoin

1
Summary of Mining

LTBcoin does not use computational mining. Instead, coins are distributed to the content creators, the community and the platform according to a fixed schedule. After a period of 260 weeks (5 years), all coins will be distributed and no new coins will be created.

LTBcoin is mined by PoP, Proof of Participation. Essentially if you read or listen to podcasts on the Let's Talk Bitcoin website, you have just participated in PoP. You can read the details of PoP HERE

LTBcoin is also mined by PoV (Proof-of-Value), and PoQ (Proof-of-Quality). If you create a show, or write an article (or ever wanted to!) either by yourself or as part of an ad-hoc group formed for the task on the forums, you’ll earn LTBCOIN not only when we publish your work to our audience (PoV), but again a month later when the performance of your work is compared against all the other work published during that week (PoQ), and then rewarded again!

Why is LTBcoin Valuable?

Demand for LTBcoin is derived from the value it has as the exclusive currency used for purchasing ads on the LTB network. LTBcoin will also be the exclusive token that lets you participate in our contests, buy gear at discount in our stores, and participate in promotions and other surprises we come up with along the way!

Effective July 1st, 2014 LetsTalkBitcoin.com, the Let’s Talk Bitcoin! show, and the LTB network will only sell sponsorship space (on the web properties) or airtime (on the show) for LTBcoin, to the highest bidder, in LTBcoin, at our regular auction events.

Do you have to verify your address to be eligible to recieve coins?

This is common question people are asking. Can you tell me what part of sign up process asks you to verify your address ? I'd like to fix OP so people are not confused.

on this site:
http://letstalkbitcoin.com/blog/post/lets-talk-bitcoin-126-make-it-costly-to-be-big

it tells you to go to "my profile".
but the ltb address is now under account settings.
In address manager you can verify you address, but it is not told that you have to do it.
Hence the confusion.

It is a bit confusing, sorry about that. Address verification is not required, it is a feature that will be used in the future, you can read about it here: http://letstalkbitcoin.com/forum/post/verify-address

What is important however is that you create an LTBcoin compatible address (Your address will be valid if you created it in counterwallet).
134  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [LTBc] The most profitable alt coin to mine is... on: July 27, 2014, 07:51:04 PM
if it is legit adam will be out of ltbc soon.
It is meant for legitimate contributions but people will leech of this money source.
I could for example make a hundred accounts and go spamming on the forum and make lots of coins.
That would be totally ridiculous.

Check out the distibution breakdown here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1GzytNblMx8xBmUczX7sPC8QitkJrrRirNrh2AJtjy1Q/edit#gid=508171322

The weekly distribution is a fixed amount. Even if you create 100 accounts, you are essentially diluting your own profits.
135  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [LTBc] The most profitable alt coin to mine is... on: July 27, 2014, 09:35:51 AM
Trying to get this activated, but I cannot verify my address as it constantly says it is invalid....I take it one cannot participate if you have not verified your address.

The payouts happen once a week, on saturday. Since this weeks payout has already happened, you have about a week to submit a valid LTBcoin address. Did you create your counterwallet address yet?. Your standard Bitcoin address will not work.
136  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [LTBc] The most profitable alt coin to mine is... on: July 27, 2014, 09:03:13 AM
there is a limit epr week? about posting? otherwise i can spam(in the sense of mass constructive post) the whole board and get ton of those ltb

Here's more info about PoP https://docs.google.com/document/d/1L7HmE8IupFiSrfqk9BgNa4Zg9XogqtScyQjTw0k2xCc/edit,
essentially you will earn less LTBcoin for every post you make that day. (encouraging you to come back and interact every day of the week, instead of just spamming one day.) Also if you make a bunch of spam posts with no useful content, I'm sure the mods will remove them.

no other exchange beside melotic?

We will set a ceiling of 5,000 LTBCOIN at launch.
But what does that convert to Huh
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1L7HmE8IupFiSrfqk9BgNa4Zg9XogqtScyQjTw0k2xCc/edit?pli=1

From that doc so wanted to ask here since this seems to be the general thread for it.

That is all about phase 1 distribution. That was already done a few weeks ago (I was not involved in it).
There are still plenty of ways to earn LTBcoin though.
I made 20,000LTBcoin in week #4 by doing things such as making 5 forum posts, and listening to podcasts.

podcast are the one above the forum?, you just click play and listen?

You have to listen for the "magic word" that is announced somewhere in the podcast, submit it, and it will increase your PoP (Proof of Participation) score.
