121  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NiceHash Miner - easy-to-use best-profit multi-device cryptocurrency miner on: June 21, 2017, 04:24:28 AM
@Universalresonance:
7-8$ per 1080ti right now is good. You have fluctuations due to price flutes and perhaps rejects.
@nicehash
- nice design, i like it. Background Grid should be more visible on graph.
Colors are weird, but does not bother me much as functionality is more important.
- CAN we have a withdraw in ALTCOINS please?
122  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GTX 1080 ti ftw3 Overclocking help on: June 21, 2017, 04:12:39 AM
Just had EVGA 1080TI SC editions - did not like them much, one out of 3 cards was acting up, were all new, no overclock... so got rid of them.
I see you overclocking it, but whats the stock clock?

p.s. in any overclocking, if temps are within a good limit (yours is) should not damage gpu, unless you will start with voltmod, IMO
123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / ZEC Wallet - w/o identity proofs and reliable on: June 21, 2017, 04:03:56 AM
Subj.
Can you recommend a good reliable zec wallet that would not require anal exam (coinbase/poloniex/similar) preferably for local pc use.
Thanks

Not to create another topic, even its been a while since last post.
Curious if anyone still uses Minergate?
125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: plz help choose cards from several options on: June 17, 2017, 04:49:07 AM
i would not bother getting any HD5XXX or HD6XXX series.
i have few 7970 i still mine on, but its ZEC... which is not bad but soon they also could head to retirement - not for $150+
it is important to mention how vram they have... but i bet not more that 3gb...i have tried rx580 it did almost exatly like mine 7970OC versions... which kind of unpleasantly surprised me.
1070 looks appealing and nvidia overall is probably a longer shot as it supports wider list of coins/protocols

p.s. 2x7970OC+1x7850 does about 8-10$ a day with current pricing
126  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: So is anyone else selling their RX series gpu's with the crazy high prices? on: June 17, 2017, 04:37:05 AM
Agree with adaseb (fortune jack)
 - been on ebay since 2000 and sold quite a bit, but i stopped selling in bulk as like it was mentioned there just too many dicks, buying stuff, then break it and try to return it, or use it and then return it. Had way too many cases like that. I have been selling used computer parts, laptops etc. Not much right now and even if i do, i do AS-IS even if it works.

ATI card craziness is extreme in Rockies, probably like everywhere else, i have friends from overseas calling me and asking if we have any ATI cards in stores... Germany, Baltics, Russia, Kazakhstan etc...looks like they just temporarily extinct and any older cards even HD4XXX HD5xxx ARE CRAZY HIGH PRICED.

Once VEGA comes out... if it will come one this summer as it appears they move it farther and farther from present time... i have a feeling VOLTA may even come before VEGA which would just kill VEGA on the spot (IMHO) as AMD always a second runner just like with cpu's and AMD tried to orient VEGA in beating 1080ti, which it probably will, but how much faster it will be? thats questions one and another question will be can it beat VOLTA based top line cards or at least be even? i highly doubt it... So...again everything comes to final _PRICE_ especially for AMD as it is ORIENTED TO CATCH UP with nvidia LEAD. They need to re-think their philosophy, start thinking in creating something "breakthrough" to switch spots with nvidia.

TDP/CLOCKS/ETC - MSI AFTERBURNER seem to be the most popular utility. There alternatives from many manufacturers though.

132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: BURST mining: Configs, pools, stats etc on: June 12, 2017, 03:01:10 AM
CPU or GPU is used when you plotting, once done, no great calculation power needed, but plotting with celeron will probably take a significantly longer time to accomplish, but doable.

got 2 7970 (tahiti) sapphire and diamond. Sapphire gets about 275ksols diamond gets about 250ksols which isnt bad at all for that old of a cards, having added 7770 and 7870 all together gets nice "ol'timer" box that does what it should. Note: Feeds off free "food" so im not worrying too much, otherwise, yes, its a bit too old.

There is also an option to flash chip directly with programmer.
135  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NiceHash Miner - easy-to-use best-profit multi-device cryptocurrency miner on: June 11, 2017, 04:58:58 AM
i would agree on having an ability to withdraw in different coins alternative to btc. Its great idea and should be implemented.
136  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Brownouts started to show in summer on: June 11, 2017, 04:34:57 AM
i agree UPS would be the best bet not only because of a battery but because of a separated circuitry from outer grid. If you cant afford it, then as an alternative you try finding adjustable transformer that also has a "breakout" between your load and a grid, but i bet it would not cost less than a UPS. Also, you can use UPS without battery and buy "bad" UPS with bad battery for a fraction of a price and use it as high grade filter (without offline capability)

if you bake them, forget about using them, as problem will return + your caps will be dead, better find someone in your vicinity with bga rework station and have them reflowed properly - this may fix problem temporarily. I would definitely check vrm before attempting any temp heal.
138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: If you are thinking of mining... learn what DIFFICULTY is first. on: June 10, 2017, 03:54:31 AM
Having done stock and options trading, talking to many falks who has made millions and who got burned, i see correlation with crypto coin world. Many who have quit their daily jobs got burned, some made a fortune. Those who made a fortune seem to be the minority great time, i would say <3% of them all. Of course there are many factors that count, but those who succeeded they always said - DIVERSIFY or dont put all your egg in one basket. I have learned it hard way and i recommend you to learn how to manage your risks. Would you be ok if you would of lost ALL your coins one day ? If you answer YES, then quit your job and do mining, if answer is no, then figure out the way do both. Control your hype. Control emotions. Do not assume anything, do your math.

is there a thread here somewhere that talks about buy-sell in between forum users directly, without any exchanges?
Tried PM'ing few highly rated members but noone has replied in while...
140  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Which gtx 1080 ti brand is the best? on: June 06, 2017, 05:34:02 AM
I have been through 8 different 1080ti's and what i have found out
PNY 1080TI FE - was the worst one on hash rates.
ASUS 1080TI FE - was the best one out of all FE

out of overclocked cards i have zotac 1080ti amp extreme - a very little bit slower than gigabyte aorus xtreme, speed difference is so small i would not even bother, why i got gigabyte is because 4 years warranty(if you register on site) 3 years if you will not. What i dont like about gigabyte - REALLY FAT card, but really quiet. Temperature wise - OC versions are running really hot on full TDP. MSI OC edition is pretty good too, speed-wise very close to gigabyte or zotac.

What i did like about FE with BLOWER FAN cards - VERY VERY TOLERABLE TO HIGH TEMPERATURES! i just have fans 100% kind of noisy, but not too bad. anything under 75% fan speed is barely audible. ASUS 1080TI FE was the best performing card out of all and the most stable. You can put 1 1080ti fe in midtower and will work just fine, cant say that about OC cards - they need to have add-on coolers for sure and BIG case. i could not find any combination of any motherboard/case in my possession that would fit more than 2 gigabyte OC cards, not just because of a temps but because of a SIZES of card. I had tried 3x FE in one hf-x case, worked good, but you still need to keep an eye on your temps and get real good add-on fans or have fan control unit installed with ability to regulate RPM's with increased voltage.

At some point i have assembled a system with 3x1070ti and i think they were pretty good cards for play and or mine, a local gamer bought that computer. Case was COOLERMASTER HF-X - very good case for tri card setup.
