121  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Beware my Filipino friends of Facebook bitcoin groups on: February 24, 2018, 12:38:45 AM
Can you give some detail on how they scam users?

Do they try to steal your wallets or do they try to ask you to send money?
122  Other / Meta / Re: Enhanced merit UI [1.1] on: February 24, 2018, 12:36:08 AM
Great addition! This was required especially in the light of the changes to the merit system. I just found about the merit system today and was looking for a way to give merits easily.

Is it possible to integrate this into the forum itself? Using some simple machines plugin maybe?
123  Other / Meta / Re: The reality is 99.9% members can never rank up with the new merit system. on: February 24, 2018, 12:33:39 AM

3) You may be right about members giving merits to posts they agree with. Admin stated that members should not do this but I think the system is new and we should give it some time before members get used to it. Also, do not forget that there are merit sources who are expected to be more responsible with sending merits.

You cannot change human behavior. People will give merits to opinion that they agree with.

This system will to an extent disadvantage unpopular opinions because those opinions will get less merit but it is also possible that some people give merits based on quality of the post and not just the opinion.
124  Other / Meta / Re: Merit rewards for Signature Campaigns! on: February 24, 2018, 12:27:12 AM
This can only be done if all the bounty managers are made merit sources otherwise they won't have enough spendable merit to give to all quality posts.

But this would disadvantage people who don't participate in signature campaigns.
125  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about Warren Buffet and Others? on: February 24, 2018, 12:19:52 AM
Warren Buffet is a famous person and a big investor.

He is also very old and does not understand Bitcoin. His advice on stocks and old investments is good but cannot be trusted when it comes to Bitcoin.
126  Other / Meta / Re: Some posts are deleting on: February 23, 2018, 10:50:02 PM
No post can be deleted automatically. All posts are deleted by someone.

If some thread is self-moderated then that means the poster can delete any post even if it does not break the rules. In other cases it is the moderators who delete the posts.
127  Other / Meta / Re: Merit Data from 503 Randomly Selected Altcoin Bounty Hunters on: February 23, 2018, 10:43:04 PM
Very interesting analysis of bounty hunter.

This can be compared with the number of merits that an average non bounty hunter has. Of course because bounty hunters have a higher rank. If you can compare similarly ranked bounty hunters and non-bounty hunters then that would be interesting.
128  Other / Meta / Re: Merit Requirements too difficult to JR. Members on: February 23, 2018, 10:34:49 PM
Merit requirements are in place so that the quality of posts in the forum increase.

Don't worry too much. Just try to post quality posts and also post in the threads that somebody linked here. Once you post good quality threads you will start getting merits.
129  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will cryptos be so volatile forever? on: February 17, 2018, 05:01:29 PM
Cryptocurrencies are decentralized and have no regulators.

This means no one can control them or influence theme. I think they will always be volatile because of this reason.
130  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The US govt is offering bounties for info on pump and dump groups for scam ICOs on: February 17, 2018, 03:51:48 PM
This is a great thing. These pump and dump groups were terrible.

I saw so many threads on bitcointalk promoting these pump and dump groups.
131  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: bitgrail - treating their users like shit on: February 17, 2018, 02:14:37 PM
What is the solution to these exchanges getting hacked again and again?

How can we avoid these exchanges which can get hacked?

Whose fault was this? Bitgrail or the Nano team?
132  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Hashflare wants invest $500 on: February 17, 2018, 02:01:40 PM
Do not invest $500 into hashflare or any cloud mining website.

It doesn't matter anymore what people say about cloud mining, the rookies flowing into this market by large numbers don't take any advice to heart. For that reason I don't even understand why these rookies keep asking others for 'advice' since they do what they want anyway. Let people waste their time and money on cloud mining, they will have to see for themselves how bad of an investment it really is. As long as they don't know that, they won't realize how messed up and scam infested cloud mining really is. Go ahead and invest your money in hashflare, try to mine Bitcoin. Good luck! Wink

Yes some rookies don't listen to anyone and waste their money by getting into cloud minining but there are other rookies who will listen to advice and this advice will prevent them from wasting their money.

So if you are smart and listen to advice you can save your money.
133  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: LocalBitcoins.com: New wave of scams! Steps to protect yourself (digital trades) on: February 17, 2018, 01:53:57 PM
NEVER RELEASE BITCOINS FROM THE ESCROW BEFORE YOU RECEIVE YOUR PAYMENT.

You are right that no one should ever release bitcoins from escrow before receiving payment.

But in some cases the scammers use make the payment, the seller releases the escrow and then after that the release they make chargebacks from paypal or other methods.

That is the most dangerous.
134  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: bitminer.io real or scam? on: February 17, 2018, 01:48:06 PM
This is completely a scam. If you cannot withdraw your money without paying more money then it means your money is gone.
Stop getting fooled by these scammers. They will never give you profit.
135  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Why is campaign rates dipping? on: February 17, 2018, 01:46:30 PM
The campaign rate are paid in Bitcoin but the price of the bitcoin keeps on increasing.

Because of this the campaign pays less bitcoin but in dollar it is the same amount.
136  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gold $30,000/ounce, Silver $1000/ounce, Bitcoin $100,000 on: February 17, 2018, 01:44:56 PM
Bitcoin is not a physical object.

So you cannot compare Bitcoin to Gold and Silver. Gold and Silver are measure in ounces but how do you measure Bitcoin?

Bitcoin is valuable but you cannot compare prices of these three things.
137  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did you notice? Bitcoin transaction fees are very low now compared last months. on: February 17, 2018, 01:07:41 PM
https://airdrop.maxdata.io/?kid=M5PZP EARN 1000 TOKENS FOR FREE AND EXTRA 1000 FOR EACH REFERRAL YOU MAKE.. 🔥🔥🔥🔥HURRY NOW...🔥🔥🔥

Stop spamming random stuff.

You managed to contradict yourself in just two lines.
The fees are lower now than when bitcoin was at 6k,as obviously there is no correlation between price and fees.
The only thing that matters is the number of transactions waiting in the mempool.

Yes the fees are very low now. The number of transactions have reduced reduced a lot.

There is some corelation because when Bitcoin went up to 20k it was in the news and lots of newcomers started coming into bitcoin and both no. of transactions and the fees increased.
138  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to make money off cryptocurrency? on: February 15, 2018, 08:22:16 PM
It is not easy to make money of cryptocurrency.

Buying at a low price and selling at a higher price can make you good profits.
139  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China New Year Begins and BTC price is increasing! The Prediction Was Right! on: February 15, 2018, 08:21:09 PM
The price has crossed $10000 on the Chinese New Year.

Some people did predict that price would increase on the Chinese New Year!

Hey, jw if you got my application above?
I checked for you and you are fine since you've posted your respective signature code. Your posts will be counted from your application onward.

Keep in mind that the dev team updates stakes manually and that the team is currently very busy with the ICO and with negotiations, so you might not see your stakes immediately. This is perfectly normal and nothing to worry about.

Welcome to the campaign!

Thanks!
