121  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: June 19, 2022, 11:48:11 AM
I don't have any doubt that Real Madrid's chance to become the champions in the Champions League is higher than PSG now too. The previous season was a proof for that.

PSG sacked Mauricio Pochettino for hoping to win the UCL next season. I don't know who his successor is. All still have a chance because the player's stats cannot be the basis for the champion favorite. Madrid have a mentality so they've been great this season.
As for next season I don't know, next season there are many clubs with new players. There are so many new forces that it is still difficult to predict. Maybe if the game has entered the round of the top sixteen it will be easier to determine.

There is still no official announcement about Pochettino to get sacked by PSG as far as I can see now. I have seen some news like it is going to be official soon but let's see. Transfermarkt still shows him as PSG's current manager. PSG are trying to do anything they can to achieve that title with a great squad like this. After Pochettino's departure, they will need to bring a manager that fits the team exactly. At that point I know one candidate and people have already talked about him very much: Zidane.
122  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: June 18, 2022, 12:58:11 PM
PSG are going to be the number one contender for the Ligue 1 title again as always. Lille impressed all of us by winning the league title despite a very strong team like PSG. But this doesn't happen very often in any league including this one also. For next season no team come to my mind like I can say for them that they can make another surprise. Maybe Monaco or Marseille can be said for this but they still don't seem that much competitive. Monaco have lost some strength too after sending Tchouameni.

Cesc Fabregas wasn't even able to play for a long time last season. It isn't a heartbreaking departure for Monaco as a result. I don't know if an average team would like to sign him for one season at least but I think his retirement is not too far now. His past was full of good memories of course as I think about him like he has been one of the great midfielders in football history. He should be remembered like this even though he isn't playing football very actively now.
124  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 winner - Real Madrid! on: June 18, 2022, 12:44:47 PM
Real Madrid should be one of the biggest contenders of the title according to bookmakers next season. They underestimated Real Madrid in the previous season and we all saw what happened at the end of the tournament. Bookmakers are evaluating the success probability according to the squad qualities of teams I guess. Because I saw Manchester City and PSG as they were shown as the closest teams to the title. This might stay the same for the next season too but they should at least lower the odd for Real Madrid next time.
125  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: June 18, 2022, 12:12:54 PM
Manchester City and Liverpool are the teams that are most prepared for next season in the Premier League in my opinion. Both teams are equally successful in bringing in quality players in this transfer market. Especially Manchester City who successfully brought in talented young players from Borussia Dortmund. That will help them be even scarier next season. They have good capital now.
Other clubs can still bring in players to welcome next season and they will also be ready because the transfer market is not closed yet. Manchester City and Liverpool have managed to bring in great strikers like Haaland and Nunez, but Chelsea are very much ready for next season even though we haven't signed expensive players so far.

Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are also very ready. There is a possibility that the dominance of Manchester City and Liverpool will end next season.

I don't think Manchester United and Arsenal are very ready now. Because both of these teams are trying to consolidate their squads right now. Manchester United have signed Erik ten Hag as their manager but their job is still not completed. They need to fill Pogba's place in the first place and it would be nice to bring a new defender in the place of Harry Maguire too. There is a possibility for Ronaldo to leave the team also so they are still facing important problems. As for Arsenal, they are also trying to bring a centre-forward as its their weakest point now.
126  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: June 18, 2022, 12:06:15 PM
I understand why Antonio Conte wants Lautaro Martinez so much now of course. In the end he is Conte's old student while he was managing Inter. His performance then was really awesome at the same time. I'm not sure either about whether Tottenham really need to transfer a striker now but I'm still okay about a transfer like this. He is a 24-year-old goal machine and many big teams would like to see him playing for themselves for certain as well.
127  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: June 17, 2022, 11:38:37 AM
Kylian Mbappe would have a much better future if he agreed on joining Real Madrid. I also think that he is going to regret not joining them if Real Madrid start to become interested in another striker some time later. Mbappe's dream was to play for Real Madrid normally and he had many posters of Ronaldo playing at Real Madrid when he was a child too. I don't think that he would have any problem with money even if he joined Real Madrid too. I'm pretty sure they would also pay a lot of money.
Maybe he decided to stay in PSG because of three reasons.

PSG gives him too high salary and more importance role together with bigger power in the club.
He saw a future that PSG will win Champions League and he will be a hub of PSG success.
He saw that Real Madrid are facing with ageing issues and they don't have good plan to handle it in near future. So if he joins them, he will waste a few seasons when Real Madrid rebuild their team.

I think he had good decision for his career. Stay in PSG three more seasons. If they succeed, he can sign a new contract. If they fail, he can join Real Madrid and three years are long enough to assess how Real Madrid rebuild their team.

I can say it is true that Real Madrid are rebuilding the team now with young players. But they are still doing a wonderful job in not only the La Liga but also the Champions League. They won both of these titles in the previous season. Considering these facts I think he would still be very successful with Real Madrid. I don't have any doubt that Real Madrid's chance to become the champions in the Champions League is higher than PSG now too. The previous season was a proof for that.
128  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA Finals 2022 - Warriors vs Celtics. on: June 17, 2022, 11:27:30 AM
I wanted to see Celtics winning Game 6 and carrying the series to the final game of it but it didn't happen. I still appreciate Warriors' high performance as they played much better than Celtics in this game. Curry performed really great after that poor performance in the previous game. I didn't like Tatum's performance in this game at all. He should have played better to help his team keep their hopes up. Warriors are still a winner team in NBA for years.
129  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: June 17, 2022, 10:53:22 AM
I don't see any fresh news regarding Romelu Lukaku's transfer to Inter recently. The last news I saw was that Inter were getting closer to finishing the agreement with him and Chelsea. It was going to be a loan deal as well. I don't have any doubt that Lukaku would still want to leave the team by not caring about if it's a loan or permanent deal. Because he didn't have a good season with Chelsea and it can be better for him to return to the team he was playing great for.
130  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- 2021/22 winner - Real Madrid! on: June 17, 2022, 10:43:50 AM
Manchester City are going to be a huge favourite for the Champions League title next season. They have added a very big player like Erling Haaland to the team and I think that they are complete now. I always believed that they needed this kind of a striker in the team. He is like an all-around player and he can contribute insanely much to the team in terms of scoring many goals. I know that Manchester City haven't had much problem with scoring but now they will be even stronger about that.
After last season's exit from the champions league,I began to imagine what they said Yaya Toure said to Guardiola, that he  will never win the champions league with Mancity, because taking a look at Manchester city's performances last season, you see that they did exceptionally well, but why they were eliminated from the tournament is what I don't know. They were the favourites to win that tittle, but it all turned against them.I just feel that there is a hoodoo following Guardiola.

It really started to seem like there is some dark magic that has been made to Guardiola.  Grin  They are trying to do their best to make the lineup even stronger now. I expect them to be very active in this transfer window. On the other hand this doesn't guarantee anything for them of course. But this is a big effort to make it in the Champions League and I'd really like to see them reaching the championship finally. PSG are experiencing the same thing with them and I wonder which one of them will break a leg first.
131  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season - Finals on: June 16, 2022, 12:21:34 PM
I also want to see the Game 7 man. This final series shouldn't end up by a 4-2 win for Golden State Warriors. I believe Boston Celtics deserved as much as them to reach the championship. Their last time as the champions was in the 2007-2008 season. They haven't been the champions for thirteen seasons and it is going to fourteen if they lose this series. I think it must be time for them to make it. But this is going to be really hard for them as they will need to win two times in a row.

Right, who wouldn't want to see a old fashion game 7? And then Celtics is the favorite n game 6 at Boston Garden? Perhaps this could be the first time that we are going to see a team with 3 game 7 and all of them are in their favor. But we will have to see, the Warriors has gain the momentum already with back to back win and they are a good road team too so I wouldn't be surprised if they win a tough game 6 in the road will balloons going down.

I'm also afraid of this possibility that Warriors could win again and finish this series. On the other hand, they don't seem very consistent too. I mean for example Curry had a really bad day in the last game but they still won though. If they don't get a significant contribution from him then Celtics might have a bigger chance to equalize the score of the series. Of course Warriors still have great shooters who can fill Curry's place when he is playing badly. So Celtics will need to defend like hell.  Cheesy
132  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: June 16, 2022, 12:15:58 PM
Now that all the groups for the 2022 Worlds are closed, who do you think will make it through each group?

I think the following countries will qualify...
Group A: Senegal / Netherlands
Group B: England/Wales (but maybe USA instead of Wales...)
Group C: Argentina / Mexico
Group D: France/Denmark
Group E: Spain / Germany
Group F: Belgium / Croatia
Group G: Brazil / Switzerland (but this is the hardest group to predict because it could go anywhere with Brazil...)
Group H: Portugal / Uruguay

I agree with your both choices in the Group A, B (I'd prefer Wales over USA), D, E, F and H. I think Poland has the potential to get past Mexico in the group. Their current look in the Nations League shouldn't mislead people as they don't take it very seriously. For the Group G, I think Cameroon might manage to leave Switzerland behind by taking the second spot. They impressed me in the qualification round and they can maintain this too. I don't see Switzerland as more reliable for now.

Bayern Munich are preparing for another season to dominate.  Grin  They have already started going for some young bloods and Ryan Gravenberch is a successful transfer now. He is surely talented now and he can shine more here. He might need to be patient first of course to become a permanent player in the starting eleven. It isn't easy to make this happen at big teams unless you perform incredibly well. I think Bayern Munich are going to dominate another season as I still don't see a serious alternative.

I have seen the news on this source that Kalvin Phillips has made up his mind and he definitely wants to be a part of Manchester City this summer. From now on, I don't think there is anything Leeds can do to stop him from leaving. They would just make an effort to get as much transfer fee as possible from them. Manchester City don't have any problem with money so they are just aiming to strengthen their squad as much as possible. They want to fight harder for the CL title.

Real Madrid made a big effort to sign Kylian Mbappe but the player himself didn't want to go there after seeing that extraordinary contract offer. Money opens all doors seemingly.  Grin  It was obvious that his dream team were Real Madrid but he didn't want to go now because of that.
It is a very unsatisfied end for Mbappe transfer rumor. I never expected that Mbappe prefers money over having a better future in Real Madrid. I bet Mbappe will regret his decision to stay, especially if Real Madrid is no longer interested to sign him. Who knows if there will be another young CF to be a better target in the future. Every footballer has their best time to shine, and there will be a time when a player/footballer has difficulty maintaining their best. And there are always more young players to shine in every new season. I hope Mbappe can maintain his best performance and still has a second chance to move to Real Madrid.

We have left all of the games of Round 4 behind too and the next games are going to be on late September now. The last games in the League A were really interesting though. Germany and Hungary completely destroyed their opponents, Italy and England respectively. I understand Germany because Italy's lineup was terrible and it was obvious that they would lose. As for Hungary they surprised me a lot by winning 4-0 in England. I didn't England to lose this game.
139  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: June 12, 2022, 11:11:15 PM
Milan are going to be very active in this transfer windows as it seems. They should be like that too if they want to carry their performance to another level. They will need to bring some new players who can strengthen the squad too because of their joining the Champions League by winning the Serie A title. They need these changes in the squad to be more serious in the Champions League and they will need it for maintaining successful years in the Serie A as well.
How much prize for scudetto? I think it's not much to buy many players to San Siro. Milan also didn't have many matches in the champions league last season, only able in the group stage, it's not much money to bring many players from the transfer mart. So, in my opinion, they have to use the strategy as Inter did in last year ago. Inter didn't buy many potential players, but can still compete at a high level and almost be Champions. Milan should think to fix the weakness in the last session only.

I looked into it when you asked me that and found this:

https://www.sportsry.com/football/italian-serie-a-2022-prize-money-everything-you-need-to-know/#:~:text=The%20prize%20purse%20for%20the,clubs%20playing%20in%20the%20league.

It says that the winner of the title gets an amount like 23.4 million euros. It is quite a good amount of money though and Milan will get a really nice amount of money thanks to qualifying for the Champions League group stage as well. Two of them combined would be a good addition to their finance. I don't think that they will have too big problems with money considering their targets in the transfer window. So I hope to see them bringing quality players.

The Game 4 was fabulous for especially Steph Curry. His 43-point effort had a big contribution in this 107-97 victory. Warriors can be really unstoppable when they capture the momentum. They rely on Curry in these times and Celtics have a bigger responsibility about hindering him as much as possible in these times. Otherwise this happens and they have nothing to do about it. Everything was decided in the 4th quarter. Anyway I think Celtics will have a big response to this next time.
