121  Economy / Economics / Re: Google ban cryptocurrency Ads ( maybe their joke of the year ) on: March 30, 2018, 11:57:12 AM
Most likely such a ban will just result in a temporary rise of ad prices on alternative ads services. Hopefully, such a censorship will result in a mass switch to more decentralized and independent services.
122  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is HitBtc exchange safe now? on: March 30, 2018, 11:46:08 AM
Their support is kind of slow, but in general HITbtc is rather trustworthy and a number of big projects pay them substantial amounts for getting listed.
123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Help, I'm looking to grab some ETH.. on: March 29, 2018, 12:11:29 PM
Yes, that moment is a pretty good time for buying ETH. Ethereum is about to reach its bottom, so the risks are not that high if you are ready to wait. Anyway, $200-250 is not that much money, so you are not risking much even if ETH drops to say, $200 temporaririly.
124  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Platforms to host an ICO airdrop? on: March 29, 2018, 12:07:00 PM
I think you can do it without a special platform just using a js. script, which will send your tokens to listed wallets automatically.
125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Myetherwallet gas limit too low on: March 28, 2018, 06:24:44 PM
For sending tokens, set the gas limit to 200000. This is what MEW suggest. Note that extra gas will return to your wallet. So don't worry about the high fee.
How much is 200000 gas convert in eth tho? I need to know so I can put an enough amount in my mew wallet.

Transaction fee= (gas limit * gas price)/1000000000   (in ETH)

Pls what is the relationship between Ether gas price and gas limit.?

Gas limit is the amount of gas you need to have in order to accomplish your transaction. Like in order to drive 100 miles you need some X amount of gas, you need to have at least 21000 gas to transfer ETH and, say 200000 for sending ERC20 token. Gas price is the price you are willng to pay for a single unit of gas.

That is why your final fee is calculated using the formula you can see above.
126  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Another ICO Scam: When will regulation come in? on: March 28, 2018, 10:57:55 AM
Crypto sphere definitely needs the institution of reputation and means for resolving conflicts, but why do you think these things should be implemented by governments? If you give government a finger, it may bite off your whole hand.
127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 1 Dogecoin = 1 Dogecoin? on: March 28, 2018, 10:03:39 AM
From a reddit post in r/dogecoin subreddit:

"With so many new shibes pouring in, I feel it's important to explain it quickly.

Dogecoin is one of the oldest cryptos out there. Due to its silly front, however, it attracted a different kind of community than bitcoin and the like over time. We focus on helping out where we can and keeping a positive attitude.

So when we say 1 Doge=1 Doge, it's an easy reminder that market prices may change, but what we accomplish as a community remains."

131  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: It could take 2 years for the market to recover on: March 27, 2018, 07:58:33 PM
I think making predictions is pointless in that situation. The market is very volatile and is extremely affected by the news. You can hardly forsee the next 'black swan' which is coming to shake up the market.
132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: xvg or trx on: March 27, 2018, 07:34:31 PM
TRX sounds more fishy for me. It doesn't stand out technichally and is extremely overpriced.
133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you learn about other cryptos? on: March 27, 2018, 11:18:53 AM
I follow a number of Telegram channels and crypto-related telegram chats. A lot of channels really value their reputation, so they endeavor to make quality content.
134  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is now a good time to buy Eth? on: March 27, 2018, 11:10:38 AM
Even if $470 is not the bottom, the lowest point must be very close. Therefore, if you are making a long-term investment, it is quite a good moment to purchase.
135  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Twitter banned advertising crypto currency on: March 27, 2018, 11:06:02 AM
Twitter is becoming more and more biased with all that censorship. Hopefully, there will be a mass exodus to more uncensored and independent resources like gab.ai some day.
136  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will other coins beat bitcoin in the future? on: March 26, 2018, 01:35:28 PM
Despite being called 'currency' all crypto is still only a mean of exchange and store of value, because currency is somehting you can use for everyday payments. At the moment, we are still dominated by fiat and businesess accepting crypto are rather rare. I believe that the coin which becomes the first in that mass adoption race, wins the whole game. Currently, there is a number of factor which prevent BTC from becoming adopted more. These are speed and cost of transaction. Lighting technology seems to eliminate these barriers. So I reckon in the mid-term Bitcoin's future will depend on this technology's success.
137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buy or Sell...??? on: March 26, 2018, 01:01:01 PM
Panic sell is almost always a bad move. If you don't urgently need the money you invested in crypto and have faith in the whole industry, I advise just holding.
138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO Statistics: Countries, Traffic, and Investors on: March 26, 2018, 12:55:16 PM
When it comes to working with various ICOs, I often face the issues of traffic and targeting. Some teams exclude the US, some are Asia-oriented, the others place a stake at Europe.
Where do most ICOs get traffic? From cooperation with media sources specialized in cryptocurrencies and blockchain. Those can be globally divided into two categories: news resources and ICO listings.
We tried to analyze a traffic from most popular resources and find how it influences the investments in ICOs.

You can find more statistics in my article on Medium or Steemit.

I have two questions to the community:
1. Where do you usually look for new ICOs except bitcointalk?
2. Where did you find the ICO in which you have invested?

There is a number of ICO rating services, which aggregate and structurize info of various projects. Their rating systems seem pretty subjective due to lack of transparency in evaluation proceess, so I would take them with a grin of salt. Nevertheless, you still can use them as a database. I usually check out ICOrating, ICObazaar, ICOdrops and ICObench.
139  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What am I to do? I'm afraid to send tokens to exchanges without a name. on: March 25, 2018, 08:40:29 PM
Hey. I'm a bounty hunter. I was faced with the choice of cryptocurrency exchanges. Some tokens I get from that is you can sell on stock exchanges, of which there is no data. I'm angry. several large, Binance and bitrex. What am I to do? I'm afraid to send tokens to exchanges without a name.

Well, if these exchanges are officially listed on websites of projects which tokens you posess, there shouldn't be any problem. Also, you can try searching for some reviews of those exchanges. Search exchange's name on Reddit, for instance.
140  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Creativity in crypto world on: March 25, 2018, 08:21:40 PM
I wouldn't call crypto world boring. It is true there are a lot of annoying cliches, but there still is a lot of new stuff appearing every day. Also, there was a number of joke ICOs which hilariously mocked the crypto and gathered substantial amounts of money. Check out Useless Ethereum Token (https://uetoken.com/), Jesus Coin (https://jesuscoin.network/), FitVitalik(https://fitvitalik.io/) or SpaceKIM(https://spacekim.io/) all of them are hilarious. And some are done even more elaborately than half of the ICOs.
